Why is Duryodhana throwing dice in his FA?
an incredibly famous incident of his in the Mahabharata is commonly referred to as the ‘dice plot.’ This is where he conspired with his uncle Shakuni to rob his cousin Yudhisthira of his kingdom via a rigged dice game.
It occurred when he and his siblings visited his cousins (the pandavas) in their kingdom during a ceremony where Yudhisthira was unable to turn down requests-its commonly believed that Yudhisthira knew the game was rigged but agreed anyway out of diplomacy reasons/knowledge that their conflicts was inevitable. In it, Shakuni gambled against him with loaded die and ended up winning all of Yudhisthira’s possessions, to the point where he was able to get him to bet himself, his brothers, and then finally his wife. Duryodhana then had one of his brothers drag said wife to the assembly by her hair and try to strip her in front of the assembly while she attempted to argue that he didn’t have a right to claim her as she had been gambled after Yudhisthira had already lost himself, until a combination of a miracle (from Krishna) making her sari continue endlessly and Duryodhana’s own mother Ghandari finally telling him to knock it off (she was worried Draupadi would curse him) ended that particular incident and their possessions were returned.
UNTIL through either duryodhana manipulating his father to get the pandavas to play again or Shakuni doing so they ended up playing the same game AGAIN with the conditions that if the pandavas lost they’d lose their kingdom and go into exile for 13 years. Except surprising no one duryodhana was still cheating so they lost and went into exile.

Mahabharat characaters on Social Media: pt.2
Pt. 1.
Karna
INTERNET REVOLUTIONIST
He developed an app that teaches martial arts and other fighting styles basics to those who can't afford the classes.
History nerd who regularly posts ramble about the different types of discrimination that happened in different cultures from 5000BC India to 17th century slave trade.
Cameos regularly on Duryodhan's gym videos as his "gym bro" (ahem ahem and they were gym bros) (oh my god they were gym bros)
Duryodhan
Fitness influencer but it's actually just him trying to beat Bheem's records.
"that's funny, brother. I recently just posted a video of me picking up 100kgs with one hand and now you're doing that too." "Yeah it must, we must have got the same idea. Did Arjun give you your idea? Because I got mine from Karna." "*Squints eyes*"
Gets dragged into Dushashan's podcast very often.
After a specifically homie erotic video with karna, fans started commenting non stop "so we all know he's bi, right?" So he made a video in reply saying "nooo haha I have a girlfriend bhanumati haha karna is totally my friend" and then they comment "we didn't say anything about Karna." He never addressed those comments after that.
Dushashan
PODCAST GUY. MYSOGYNISTIC "ALPHA MALE" PODCAST GUY.
His role model is Andrew Tate.
Will always ask Duryodhan to come to his podcast as a guest, doesn't take no for an answer.
Dushashan: so like. Women. Like they are so obviously made— like their bodies have evolved to nurture children and take care of the home. They should stay at home and keep it nice and clean for their alpha male, who is their provider and protector.
Duryodhan, closeted bisexual and thinking of Karna's thighs: Woof— I mean true.
Vikarna
Sweetie pie. Absolute babygirl.
When he revealed that he was also a kaurav brother, he was mass reported over five different platforms for spreading misinformation until he proved that it's actually true.
He's just obedient and does what his two elder brothers say and people think he's just like them because of it
Editor for Dushala's videos.
He's the fan favourite Kaurav.
Dushala
Vlogger. Huge YouTube personality. Storytimes.
Channel is basically "my life as a younger sister of a 101 brothers"
Her vlog series of "Keeping Up With The Kauravas" is famous all over the country.
Posts random snippets of her brother's lives.
Once posted a short of Dushasan picking his nose that went viral and got a whole episode of "The Harsh Truth About Having Women In Your Family" on his podcast.
Ashwatthama
Cunt.
You could say the nicest thing to him and he'd still take it the wrong way.
Thinks he's gonna be a politician. (He isn't. He never will. Everyone hates him.)
Occasional gym video with Duryodhana.
His fans know. The way he looks at Dury, the fans know.
Keeps getting his account hacked but all the people do is rid the world of his treacherous content.
Note:- in my AU, the Kauravas aren't siblings from the same mother but very close knit cousins from a huge joint family.

Skin tones
Some of these are based off research, the others are mostly my own headcanons. Wherever required, I shall try to give an explanation. There are some categories here:
"Krishna" tone: aka the dusky one, also called "Saawla rang"
Dark but not that dark: this tone is lighter than the 1st, but still dusky
Wheatish: not fair, not dark
Molten gold: In my terms, this complexion is fair, but with a slightly yellowish/golden tint
Rosy: This shade is fair too, but but has a milky and pinkish shade.
The exceptions: This one is kind of a surprise, idk where to include the ones present in this category
1. Krishna tone: Satyavati, Krishna, Arjun, Draupadi, Pradyumna, Shrutakarma
These ppl are here as they are clearly mentioned to have this skin tone. Sorry if I miss out anyone, do remind me, but these are the only ones who I can recall. Satyavati is probably a shade darker than the others, as one of her names is "Kali". Pradyumna's tone is not specified as per my knowledge, but he is said to look insanely similar to Krishna, so much that ppl mistook him for Krishna, he probably had the same skin tone. Shrutakarma is kinda obvious, both his parents are here, most likely he had the exact tone as them.
2. Dark but not dusky tone: Nakul, Yudhishthira, Kunti, Dhritrashtra, Bhishma, Shakuni, Shrutasena, Sutasoma
IDK, just felt that these ppl would fit. Kunti having a slightly dark tone suits, since Arjun needs to inherit that from somewhere.
3. Wheatish: Sahadeva, Ashwatthama, Drona, Duryodhana, Dushasana, Dhrishtadyumna, Satyaki
I always felt that Dhri must have had a lighter tone than Drau, so I put him here. Dury and Dushy are here because I headcanon them being similar in looks. Sahadeva is here so that Nakul cannot confuse others about their looks-
4. Molten gold: Subhadra, Madri, Gandhari, Duhshala, Vikarna, Amba, Ambika, Ambalika, Rukmini, Shatanika
If you see the statues at Jagannath Puri, Subhadra is colored yellow, so doesn't she suit this tone? IDK how to explain Molten gold and rosy, but it is def not the jaundice/cold type of fair, pls. The rest, idk why I just put them here, except Rukmini, she is Lakshmi, ofc her complexion is "golden".
5. Rosy: Balarama, Prativindhya, Uttara, Iravan
This one is so short, because I just could not think of anymore ppl. Balarama is clearly the fairest of his siblings, every single painting/Jagannath statue has him with white as his skin tone. Just imagine these ppls cheeks turning red just by a tiny pull-
6. The exceptions: Pandu, Karna, Abhimanyu
Ok so, now, for them, I shall be specific. All of these characters are most probably fair, but their complexion does not fit in any given category. Pandu is more yellow than molten gold, due to the jaundice.
Karna, IMO, had a molten gold complexion, but kinda like...the sun? I feel he had brownish hair, and very light skin, as if the sun's rays had hit him, if yk what I am trying to say- He is after all, sun's son.
Abhimanyu's complexion is rather specific: moon-like. WTF exactly is moon-like, is beyond me. Yes, in Sanskrit, it is called "Shashi-varna" or "Chandra-varna". Various ppl have been termed as this, like Ganesha and Krishna, but they are on the opposite sides regarding complexions.
There is a term called "as fair as the moon" used in various romantic literary works. Moon=fair has always been the context, mostly. Chandra Deva himself is always drawn as fair, unlike Shiva, Vishnu etc. I understood, that Abhimanyu had a fair complexion, but with a moon-like glow. So, probably, Karna and Abhimanyu's case is similar, but with context of the sun and moon respectively.
I hope I did not offend anyone, sorry If I did, it was not my intention.

Fandom: Mahabharar | Star Plus Mahabharat
Pairings: Bheema/Draupadi
Warnings: Mentions of War | PTSD | Trauma | Bloodshed
Summary: The Second Pandava deals with ghosts of the War. Alone.
Disclaimer: This is entirely a work of fiction, based on an idea I had while reading C. Rajagopalachari’s version of the Mahabharata. But I do have to say this, this has a lot to offer that is different from the Mahabharata that is actually popular. I just hope that this resonates with the readers, and you read this, and find this worth your time and your feedback. Please leave a short comment or a like, whatever you may deem fit. And as always!
THANK YOU!
Note: Whatever the character says here, comes from a deep place of depression, trauma, anxiety, and a LOT of PTSD. As someone who has been through that, it might as well bring the worst, darkest, and the angstiest parts out of someone. And this guy has been through one of the bloodiest wars of all time, so there are some things that might be a little unsettling, and even illogical, considering they've literally lost everything, and are contemplating a world without war, where they might not have lost EVERYthing.
Also, please drop in with any thoughts you may have. XX

Chapter 3
The Darkness
“I bear no remorse for the deaths of ninety-nine of the Kauravas,” the anger in his voice is palpable, and tangible to the point where she could feel it bodily.
“Nor do I feel any compassion for Karna,” this time, it is her breath that hitches in her chest, as she tries not to remember the acerbic vitriol of insults he had hurled and triggered at her, “unlike The Emperor.”
“But Vikarna, Panchaali,” she feels him breaking down, “what of him?”
He isn’t the only one who breaks into smaller pieces, with every breath he took.
“What of those young boys? What of those soldiers? What of Uncle Salya? What of those blameless people who fought with and against us?”
This is the longest that he has spoken in what seems like an eternity.
“Did Madhusudana tell you how Abhimanyu was slain? Did he recount how Ghatotkacha had fallen? Has he ever confided in you, of The Grandsire’s pain? His remorse?”
“Five villages, Panchaali! Five villages! Five villages! Five hamlets! And we would have forgotten, perchance, if time allowed, we would even have forgiven all!”
“When have we ever been averse to a life of hardship, Krishne?” he rallies on, thunder rumbling in his voice with every syllable.
“We would have lived on as ascetics in those villages for all I care!” Bheemasena’s voice gives in, with a note of finality, “Varanavata, The Jatugriha, probably even The Dyuta, all those years of exile, Jayadratha, Keechaka! All of it! All of them!”
“I’d have ensured full well that Dushyasana would serve me for the rest of his life! The life that I’d deign him, with his entrails intact!”
Draupadi feels her long, lustrous hair, for the first time since the War. It didn’t reek of that fiend anymore.
“We wouldn’t have had the blood of those hordes of people on our hands,” he fell heavily in her lap, “Hundreds of thousands of them!”
“Oh Panchaali!” he sobbed helplessly, “I feel as if I’ve killed my sons! My Ghatotkacha! My Abhimanyu!”
“I’d atleast have the luxury of having some of us survive the onslaught,” she felt warm tears grace her lap, “and then-”
- “I’d felt the strength leaving my body the day Sutasoma left us, with his brothers.”

Omg this reminds me of this one Mahabharat character, Vikarna, who was the only one out of the 100 Kauravas who actively spoke up against Draupadi's vastraharan (non-consensual undressing).
Odyssey Amphinomus (two times): Please guys don't kill Telemachus. Murder is never right especially for princes. If gods desire it I shall kill him myself! But till then please don't
Epic Amphinomus: Just kill that mother fucker!

Random thoughts that keep me awake at night (Part I)
Sometimes, I wonder what relationship Karna and Vikarna had, especially after the Vastraharan, when Karna openly scorned Vikarna.
Did they ever talk about it afterwards? Did Karna apologise or did they agree to cooperate for Duryodhan's sake?
Or did they forever hedge around it, and died with that regret?
For some reason, I think it's the last.

Do you think that we'll get all of the Pandava and Kaurava brothers?
ALL of the kaurava brothers is doubtful to me-there were 100 of them and only four have a majorly significant role (Duryodhana, the eldest, as well as Dushasana, Vikarna, and Chitrasena). The rest just kind of exist, and I’m pretty sure they’re the masked people that show up in Duryodhana’s np. They also had a paternal half brother Yuyutsu and a sister Duhsala- I could see any of them possibly being implemented at some point? Vikarna and Yuyutsu would both be interesting because they both had issues with what their brothers were doing and how they acted but only Yuyutsu ended up actually breaking away with them because of it (and he was the only male kaurava to survive the war because of it which would be an interesting angle to explore); but I can never really predict what triggers them to make a servant and when as it was literally 7 years before they put Bhima in and he’s like, one of the most obvious choices.
For the pandavas, yudhisthira is the big one given he tends to be heavily involved in a lot of stuff and the drama between duryodhana getting antsy that his dad/dad’s advisors would prefer to hand the kingdom over to him is what triggers a lot of the conflict in the first place (he’s also a major player in stuff like the dice game which has now been mentioned more explicitly). The twins…I could see them working as characters that they have more freedom to be creative with as there’s less about them compared to the other brothers (and they do like duo units, although they don’t HAVE to be attached) but it would surprise me if they showed up before the eldest brother.

The Guilt
Arjun sat there, on the floor, silently, his head hung low. He couldn't comprehend what had just happened. In one blow, they had lost everything, their Kingdom, themselves, and now....their wife.
But then, it hadn't been sudden. They had let this happen to themselves, hadn't they? They had played right into Uncle Shakuni's trap.
If Arjun wanted, he could kill everyone present here. But that would mean disobeying  Jyeshth, and Arjun couldn't do that.
He vaguely heard Duryodhan announce that Draupadi should be brought into the hall. His head snapped up, as he locked eyes with Sahadeva, who lowered his head in silence.
Pratikamin, Duryodhan's charioteer, was sent to bring Draupadi to the hall. Arjun swallowed the lump that was forming in his throat due to emotion. Draupadi wasn't in the condition to visit the court. She was having her blood, she was in pain, and they, her husbands, had compelled her to arrive at such a moment.
They waited in silence. As the silence grew, so did Arjun's nervousness. What was happening? Was Draupadi going to arrive? What would they say to her?
Draupadi was escorted in, crying and shaking. Arjun couldn't even meet her eyes, instead looking away, as tears cascaded down his cheeks.
She was clad in a single garment, which was clumsily tied on, her long, beautiful hair were open. Perhaps she had been resting all alone.
Duryodhan sent Dushasan to bring Draupadi forward, so that they could speak to her. "Panchali, you have been won by the Kauravas! Now you shall love and serve us only!" jeered Dushasan.
Love and serve?
Was their wife a slave-
Arjun was reminded of the fact that indeed, now She was a slave, all thanks to him and his brothers. Jyeshth who bet and lost her, and they all, who did nothing to protest or stop it from happening.
Arjun was snapped out of his chain of thoughts, as Dushasan grabbed Draupadi's hair, pulling her in the front, so that she was visible to everyone, while she beseeched him to stop, saying that she was not ready yet to visit the court.
Draupadi sobbed, and then gazed at each of them. Arjun, who had been feeling as if someone had set him on fire, felt an overwhelming sense of guilt, and looked away.
Each time Dushasan called his wife a slave, it felt as if someone was stabbing him.
But he knew, it was mostly his own fault.
Losing the kingdom, losing their property did not hurt as much, as the sad look that Draupadi sent their way did.
Arjun looked around the hall. His brothers, their heads lowered, Bhishma, Drona and Vidur, staring at the ground in shame, Karna, Shakuni and the other Kauravas laughing, Dhritarashtra looking troubled.
And he, who was silent.
"Daughter." spoke up Bhishma. "We all know that the wife is the property of the husband. Yudhishthira has fairly lost himself in this game, his brothers have accepted it. Yudhishthira voluntarily agreed to play-"
"He was asked to play." said Draupadi, her voice quivering. "This game was won by deceit, all of you are aware of this fact."
From the corner of his eyes, Arjun saw Bhima fire up. He looked very angry, and Arjun knew that he would do something irrational-
"Jyeshth, you are our elder. We have always listened to you in our life. When you lost all the precious gems, jewels, our property, and our Kingdom, we didn't say anything, as you are our elder. But staking Draupadi is a bad deed that you have committed. Even slaves are treated with kindness. For this crime of yours, I shall burn your hands. Sahadev, bring the fire!"
Arjun panicked, and decided it was time he said something.
"Bhrata Bheem, what are you doing?!" Arjun gripped his arm tightly. "Have you forgotten, disobeying our elder brother is against dharma?"
"Arjun," said Bheem. "If I had not seen how and what happened, then I would have burnt his hands by force!"
Vikarna, the Kaurava prince, stepped up, asking his father why no one was able to answer Draupadi's question, why all the learned people like Bhishma, Drona and Vidur were sitting silently.
Vikarna was doing something that he, Arjun, had not dared to do.
He couldn't say anything. That would mean disobeying his elder brother, opposing the actions of his Jyeshth, who had been like a father to him and his brothers.
On the other side, Arjun was also failing in his promise of protecting his family, keeping them safe, keeping his wife safe...
Draupadi was not just his wife, she was his friend as well. And he was being unfair by sitting silently like this, as she was roughly handled, dragged by Dushasan, jeered on and taunted by the Kauravas.
Draupadi was begging all of them, all of the warriors, all the elders, he and his brothers, to protect her, to stop what was happening.
And it wasn't her husbands who spoke up. It was Vikarna, his cousin. Vikarna, who Arjun recalled disliking, Vikarna who disliked him as well, the same Vikarna was now speaking up for Arjun's wife.
Vikarna stated that the game was adharma, as the Pandavas were effected by vice, and that Shakuni had been deceitful in winning this game. According to Vikarna, Draupadi hadn't been won, in a true sense.
Karna stood up suddenly, arguing that in fact, Draupadi had been won by dharma indeed, that she was The Pandavas' possession, and that Vikarna was speaking like a child.
His wife wasn't his possession-
"Dushasan, strip the Pandavas and their wife of their clothes!" Karna's words interrupted Arjun's thoughts.
Strip?
Did he hear that right?
Seeing everyone's horrified faces, Arjun believed with a growing horror, that he indeed had heard right.
Yudhishthira tugged off his upper garment, and seeing him, the rest of them did the same.
Then, Dushasan approached Draupadi, and grabbed the loose end of her saree.
They couldn't sink that low, thought Arjun.
But then, they had, indeed. They had sunk that low.
Draupadi closed her eyes, muttering a silent prayer to God, as Dushasan forcibly began tugging her garments away.
With tears in his eyes, Arjun prayed to his dear friend.
Save her Madhav.
And then, a miracle happened. As Dushasan tugged away the garment, another similar one appeared, then another, then another-
Oh Madhav, what have you done? Will you forgive me for my crime? Will the world forgive me? Will I be able to forgive myself? Will Krishnaa forgive me?
As Dushasan collapsed due to breathlessness, Arjun could finally breath again.

Note
do you really think duhshasan is the one to actually blame for vastraharan? i mean modern retelling always label him as a "pervert" but actually i don't think he's really to blame? i mean he was just following the orders of karna and duryodhan. ppl could say but "he should've opposed it" but then nobody except vikarna actually opposed that. and in hindu mythologies it's quite a recurring theme that "devoted" younger brothers follow their elders blindly so,,, is there any other evidence of duhshasan being a pervert or just a popularly hated character? because i don't get it at all ;-;
He dragged Draupadi into the sabha by her hair, after she begged him not to and told him that she was on her period, and kept pulling and pulling her sari until he was so exhausted that he swooned. He may not have taken any particular 'pleasure' in the act, but he was very much complicit and guilty.
Also, there have been younger brothers in Hindu mythology who don't follow their elders blindly, such as Vibhishana and Sugriva. Kumbhakarna and Indrajit didn't necessarily have any personal malice against their brother/father's enemies and may have even been nice/'good' at heart, but they still chose to follow him into war and lost their lives for it.
