Mahabharat characaters on Social Media: pt.2
Pt. 1.
Karna
INTERNET REVOLUTIONIST
He developed an app that teaches martial arts and other fighting styles basics to those who can't afford the classes.
History nerd who regularly posts ramble about the different types of discrimination that happened in different cultures from 5000BC India to 17th century slave trade.
Cameos regularly on Duryodhan's gym videos as his "gym bro" (ahem ahem and they were gym bros) (oh my god they were gym bros)
Duryodhan
Fitness influencer but it's actually just him trying to beat Bheem's records.
"that's funny, brother. I recently just posted a video of me picking up 100kgs with one hand and now you're doing that too." "Yeah it must, we must have got the same idea. Did Arjun give you your idea? Because I got mine from Karna." "*Squints eyes*"
Gets dragged into Dushashan's podcast very often.
After a specifically homie erotic video with karna, fans started commenting non stop "so we all know he's bi, right?" So he made a video in reply saying "nooo haha I have a girlfriend bhanumati haha karna is totally my friend" and then they comment "we didn't say anything about Karna." He never addressed those comments after that.
Dushashan
PODCAST GUY. MYSOGYNISTIC "ALPHA MALE" PODCAST GUY.
His role model is Andrew Tate.
Will always ask Duryodhan to come to his podcast as a guest, doesn't take no for an answer.
Dushashan: so like. Women. Like they are so obviously made— like their bodies have evolved to nurture children and take care of the home. They should stay at home and keep it nice and clean for their alpha male, who is their provider and protector.
Duryodhan, closeted bisexual and thinking of Karna's thighs: Woof— I mean true.
Vikarna
Sweetie pie. Absolute babygirl.
When he revealed that he was also a kaurav brother, he was mass reported over five different platforms for spreading misinformation until he proved that it's actually true.
He's just obedient and does what his two elder brothers say and people think he's just like them because of it
Editor for Dushala's videos.
He's the fan favourite Kaurav.
Dushala
Vlogger. Huge YouTube personality. Storytimes.
Channel is basically "my life as a younger sister of a 101 brothers"
Her vlog series of "Keeping Up With The Kauravas" is famous all over the country.
Posts random snippets of her brother's lives.
Once posted a short of Dushasan picking his nose that went viral and got a whole episode of "The Harsh Truth About Having Women In Your Family" on his podcast.
Ashwatthama
Cunt.
You could say the nicest thing to him and he'd still take it the wrong way.
Thinks he's gonna be a politician. (He isn't. He never will. Everyone hates him.)
Occasional gym video with Duryodhana.
His fans know. The way he looks at Dury, the fans know.
Keeps getting his account hacked but all the people do is rid the world of his treacherous content.
Note:- in my AU, the Kauravas aren't siblings from the same mother but very close knit cousins from a huge joint family.

My favorite moment in StarBharat
Y'all may think it is something Abhimanyu related, but no, it isn't. Okay, maybe it is IS Abhimanyu related.
I really, really love the entire sequence from the night of the 13th day, to Jayadrath's death. So here is a weird summary for those of you don't remember it properly.
Arjun arrives and drops to the ground in shock (kind of). Then he starts to cry, and then remembers Abhimanyu's tear catching days when he was still alive. He is like : who will catch my tears now *sob sob*
I resisted the urge to say : then don't cry at all, Arjun. But I didn't say anything to the Arjun in my laptop seeing the time and occasion.
Then Yudhishthira comes to apologize (as he rightfully should). Arjun asks him who offed his son. Instead of taking the names of the people who shot arrows at Abhimanyu, Nakul is like "Jayadrath got a boon, bro".
Arjun feels very guilty (as he has been feeling and will continue to feel for the rest of the war). Then he flies into a rage and is like time to rectify the mistake I made~
Krishna is standing in the corner like : "mission accomplished."
Arjun goes to the Kaurava camp and starts beating the fuck out of everyone he comes across. Mysteriously, Karna and Duryodhan are nowhere to be seen in this entire scene.
Drona starts telling Arjun how what he is doing is adharma. Arjun tells Drona to shut the fuck up (albeit politely) . Then the rest of the Pandava bros (except Yudhishthira) arrive and start kicking some ass.
Arjun is going to murder Jayadrath (but hey, weren't we supposed to a cool ass death sequence????) Then Samrat arrives fashionably late and gives Arjun Abhimanyu's kasam (indirectly). Arjun pledges to either kill Jayadrath by sundown the next day or die himself.
The next day, Arjun continues his rage induced fight with the Kaurava army. Also, Abhimanyu is still laying in the exact place they placed his body the previous day. In the middle of the fcking camp. Poor guy.
Then Duryodhan starts teasing Arjun how he is going to die soon. Ashwatthama and Dushasan join in the taunting. Dushasan is like : Krishna calls himself a god, how did he help you?
Le Krishna: *covers the sun with his sudarshan chakra in the next scene*
THIS IS HOW HE IS HELPING HIM, DUSHY.
Jayadrath, who was hidden in the camp, comes to the battlefield, because he feels that the sun has set. Shakuni rightfully feels that something is sus, and the Pandavas shed some tears.
Arjun is like : okay. If you think I should die then I will die.
Jayadrath arrives, and then taunts Arjun a LOT. finally, Shakuni arrives and is like : Krishna why tf is your sudarshan hiding the sun.
*cue shocked faces*
Krishna is like : well, I can't make the sunset happen (you very well can. Who are you lying to?), but I can make it appear as if the sun has set, no?
Then a long scene happens. I don't remember much of it, since I was too focused on Arjun's flying hair. He has really entered his Santoor papa era.
Long story short, Arjun sends Jayadrath's head flying. YAYYYYYYY

Why ??
Ch - 2 Have Faith
Amidst the regal splendour of Indraprastha, the grandeur of the palace belied the turmoil within. In the hushed ambiance of the courtroom, where the weight of fate seemed to hang heavy in the air, the Pandavas - Yudhishthir, Bheem, Arjun, Nakul, and Sahadev - gathered with Krishna. Their faces bore the marks of trials endured and sacrifices made amidst the shadows of uncertainty....
Yudhishthir, the epitome of virtue and righteousness, spoke with a voice tempered by the weight of leadership, "O Madhusudan, we have followed the path of Dharma to the best of our abilities, yet we have lost. Have we not been faithful to our duty as warriors and princes?"
Krishna sought out his beloved elder cousin, Yudhishthir. He approached with a gentle smile, yet his eyes held a depth of understanding for the pain that weighed heavy upon Yudhishthir's heart. "Bade Bhaiya," Krishna's voice carried a soothing reassurance, "I see the burden that weighs upon you. But know this, it is not your fault."
Yudhishthir's gaze met Krishna's, a mixture of anguish and resignation clouding his usually serene countenance. "How can I not blame myself? It was my decision and foolishness that led us to this path of exile, of suffering."
With a reassuring hand on Yudhishthir's shoulder, Krishna spoke with conviction, "Fate is a masterful player, weaving its intricate designs upon the tapestry of our lives." Eventually, Arjun, the valiant warrior whose bow knew no equal, interjected with a sense of urgency, "But, Madhav, the flames of injustice threaten to consume us whole. How are we to navigate the treacherous waters of fate when the currents pull us in every direction? And Why does fate constantly conspire against us?"
Krishna met Arjun's gaze with a steady, reassuring smile. "O Parth, indeed this is a grave incident that has cast its shadow upon all of us," he acknowledged, his tone soft yet resolute. "But remember, fortune favours the brave. You, dear brother, are destined for greatness, and no adversity can dim the light that burns within you."
"And Bade Bhaiya," Krishna addressing Yudhishthir, "You are not the architect of this tragedy, but merely a player bound by its rules. The game of dice was but a pawn in the hands of destiny, and you, its unwitting participant." Yudhishthir's eyes, heavy with the weight of guilt, sought solace in Krishna's words.
Meanwhile Bheem, in his towering frame pulsating with barely contained rage, stepped forward, his voice a thunderous roar that reverberated through the chamber. "Krishna," he declared, his eyes blazing with an intensity born of righteous fury, "I have sworn by my very being that I will break Duryodhan's thigh, crush all the Kauravas who dared to defile our honour, and tear apart Dushasan's chest, the hands that dared to lay upon Panchali in such indignity."
Krishna, ever calm amidst the storm, approached Bheem with a gentle yet firm hand upon his shoulder. "Majle Bhaiya, I understand the fire that burns within you," he spoke, his voice a soothing balm to the warrior's tumultuous soul. "But remember, vengeance alone cannot right the wrongs that have been done. It is through the strength of our unity and the righteousness of our cause that true justice shall be served."
Bheem's gaze softened. His eyes flickered with a mixture of doubt and determination as he absorbed Krishna's words, "But how, Krishna? How can we be certain of success when the path ahead seems shrouded in darkness? How can we hope to succeed against such formidable foes, whose malice knows no bounds?", he questioned, his voice betraying a hint of apprehension.
"Faith, Majle Bhaiya, Faith," Krishna replied, "Faith in oneself, faith in each other, and faith in the righteousness of our cause. Though the journey ahead may be difficult, it is the steadfastness of our resolve that shall guide us through the darkest of nights."
Nakul and Sahadev, the twin brothers known for their wisdom and humility, approached their elder siblings having a quiet resolve in their demeanor.
Nakul approached Yudhishthir with a respectful bow, his voice resonating with conviction. "Bade Bhaiya," he began, "in these trying times, let us lean not only on our own strength but also on the wisdom of our beloved Krishna Bhaiya. Like the steady oak that shelters its branches, his guidance shall provide us with the stability we need to weather this storm together."
Yudhishthir, touched by Nakul's words, placed a hand on his younger brother's shoulder, a silent gesture of gratitude and solidarity. "Nakul, my dear brother," he replied, his voice soft yet resolute, "I trust in Vaasudev and your faith in his wisdom gives me strength."
Sahadev stood before Bheem and Arjun, his expression serene yet infused with a deep sense of kinship. "Majle Bhaiya, Chote Bhaiya, let us not forget the bond that unites us. Just as Nakul said, in Krishna Bhaiya, we find not only a divine guide but also a cherished brother whose presence fills us with hope and courage."
Bheem, moved by Sahadev's words, enveloped his younger brother in a fierce embrace. "Sahadev," he spoke, his voice gruff yet filled with emotion, "your words remind me of the strength we draw from each other as brothers. Now, I am sure, with our Krishna's guidance and our unity, there is nothing we cannot overcome."
Arjun, the embodiment of valour and loyalty, "Indeed," he agreed, his voice resonating with conviction, "let us trust in Keshav's wisdom and in the bond that binds us as brothers. With our faith as our shield and our unity as our strength, we shall prevail against whatever challenges fate may throw our way."
Krishna's smile, a beacon of reassurance amidst the darkness, illuminated the chamber with its radiant warmth. "My dear brothers, do not underestimate the power of Dharma and the will of those who fight for Truth," he replied, his voice infused with unwavering confidence. "The path ahead may be fraught with peril, yet it is the strength of our convictions and the purity of our hearts that shall guide us to Victory."
Yato Dharma Tato Jaya
And so, amidst the echoes of their shared resolve, the Pandava brothers song with Krishna reaffirmed their familial bond, ready to face the trials ahead with unwavering resolve, trust in the divine, and the strength of their brotherhood.

Just as Pandavas and Krishna were having conversation, Subhadra, Krishna's beloved younger sister, approached with a mixture of reverence and apprehension. Her graceful form moved with a quiet resolve as she made her way through the sea of courtiers, her eyes fixed upon the figure of her elder brother, Krishna, who stood at the center of the room, a pillar of strength amidst the storm.
With a gentle rustle of silken fabric, Subhadra knelt before Krishna, her head bowed in a gesture of humility and respect. Krishna enveloped his younger sister in a warm embrace, a silent reassurance of his love and protection. "Are u alright my Bhadre," he asked softly, his voice a soothing melody amidst the tumultuous echoes of the courtroom. "I am fine Bhaiya but not okay", she answered by faintly smiling. "Fear not, I am here. Everything will be alright."
Subhadra, her heart eased by Krishna's comforting embrace, nodded gratefully, a silent acknowledgment of her trust in her elder brother's wisdom and guidance.
Just then, amidst the gathering, Balram, Krishna's elder brother, made his way to Indraprastha, his presence commanding respect and authority. Everyone especially Krishna was happy to see his brother there. "Dau, how are you here ?" Balram smiled and said, "Do you think I would let you come here alone ?? You would surely need some assistance." Krishna laughed and hugged his brother. Subhadra, Arjun, Bheem, Nakul and Sahadev knelt before Balram who in turn blessed them. Then, Yudhishthir shared a brotherly embrace with Balram.
After such heartwhelming moments, with a solemn nod to Yudhishthir, Balram spoke in a voice that brooked no argument, "It is time. We must take Subhadra, Abhimanyu, and the young Uppandavas with us to Dwarka. It is for their safety that they should come with us."
Understanding the urgency of the situation, Yudhishthir nodded in agreement. "Indeed, Dau," Krishna replied, his tone carrying a sense of purpose, "let us gather them and depart from this place."
As they made preparations to depart from Indraprastha, Krishna's keen eyes scanned the assembled group, his gaze searching for a familiar figure amidst the bustling activity. His brow furrowed in concern as he realized that Draupadi, his Sakhi and the steadfast matriarch of the Pandava household, was nowhere to be seen among the gathered throng.
Turning to Yudhishthir, Krishna spoke, his voice tinged with apprehension. "Bade Bhaiya," he began, his words carrying the weight of unspoken worry, "Where is my Sakhi? It is unlike her to be absent during such an important moment."
There was a sense of unease settling in his heart for Krishna knew why she was not present there with everyone.
Where is My Krishnaa ?

Things I learned while re-watching Star Plus Mahabharata (Part 20/many):
Really glad that the women chose to stay in Kurukshetra during the battle.
I will never get over Dushasan’s Dyson air-wrapped hair.
I just love the bond between Bhishma and Vidur. So pure.
Krishna and his giant cocktail ring.
Wait, Krishna is doing past life therapy now.
I am so here for the Panchal princes, Shikhandin and Dhrishtadyumna. I love writing about them in my stories also.
Shakuni is right. This war is between him and Krishna. And ironically they both want the same thing. The destruction of the Kurus.
Oh! Arjun bragging about his ability to shoot in the dark. I have a story about this btw.
Oh God, I love this line from Shakuni. If a woman is a mother, she is revered. If she is a wife, she is adored. If she is a daughter, she is someone’s good fortune. If she is someone’s daughter-in-law, she is respected.
Too bad they didn’t adhere to the last part.
Yudhisthir is Yudhisthiring.
Also, everyone here seems to be a TERF or whatever the equivalent is for a trans man.
Why do they keep showing a water body near Kurukshetra? What even is it? The Ganga? The Yamuna? Why does it have waves?
When Shikhandin says that the war was born out of Gandhari and Shakuni and because of what Bhishma did to both of them. Chills. My man speaks FACTS.
Indra is going to pull a fast one on Karna, isn’t he?
But Daddy Surya is going to come and warn him beforehand.
Karna went from being my most favourite character as a child to my most hated as an adult. This is what I call character development.
Karna is co-opting the anti-casteism movement and my man is not even low caste?
What is this ego class between Bhishma and Karna?
Oh, nice foreshadowing with Karna and the stuck wheel!
I’ve said this before but I do not appreciate Starbharat reducing Duryodhan’s relationship with Karna as one of use. Yes, Duryodhan used Karna but they were also best friends. Don’t take that away from them!
Karna recognises Indra, doesn’t he?
Indra has always been a little bitch.
Sometimes Karna reminds me of another annoying, self-righteous person that I can’t stand—Yudhisthir.
Indra to Krishna, probably: hello, nightmare child.
FFS, Arjun doesn’t even recognise his own daddy.
Even my mother is impressed by Shaheer Sheikh’s hair game.
Arjun has finally realised and he’s on the run? What does he want to do? Warn Karna?
I don’t understand how the earrings were protecting Karna? Maybe they were just for style.
It’s time Arjun accepted himself as a nepo baby and moved on.
O RLY? Arjun bringing up Ekalavya is a class act. As if he wasn’t the one who told Dronacharya in the first place that he couldn’t teach Ekalavya—that mini casteist.
Indra says that a part of the Gods (Karna’s earrings and armour) cannot participate in the war yet Narayan himself is participating in the war on the side of the Pandavas. What is this hypocrisy?
Krishna (probably): FFS, Indra. Now I gotta come up with a backup plan for this Indrastra.
Did Krishna just summon Shakuni with dirt?
Oh, Duryodhan seems concerned for Karna and not just upset that he gave away his armour and earrings?
Shakuni looks rightfully disappointed.
Shakuni now casually quoting Balaram???
Don’t be a dumbass and tell your sons about Karna’s birth, Kunti! Your stupid sons will never fight in this war then.
Mamashri Shayla’s hairline is sending me.
Ashwatthama! I am seeing him after so long!
Shalya dragging Dhritarashtra and Gandhari is a 2023 fever dream.
Sahadev, the most inconsequential of the five Pandavas, killing Shakuni is my jam.
How does Bhishma know about Karna’s true parentage? Maybe his mother told him? She’s another piece of work.
Wtf Bhishma is not even related to Arjuna, let alone Karna, FFS.
Duryodhan stroking his sheathed sword is such a…mood.
Duryodhan telling Bhishma to resign as Senapati—you fool, that’s what he wanted all along.
Good done, Duryodhan. You have Drona and Bhishma, neither of whom will touch a hair on the Pandavas’ heads. And now you have Karna who will also not hurt the Pandavas (other than Arjun). But you don’t even know that.
It’s so much nicer in my story where Arjun asks Krishna to be his charioteer.
All the warriors bowing before the Hanuman statue except for my main man, Krishna, coz Ram does not bow before Hanuman.
Krishna looks so done with Yudhisthir’s Yudhisthiring.
Bhishma pulling an UNO reverse card.
Krishna still looks done LMAO.
OG Grandaddy is here.
Dafuq. Satyavati was still alive? How old was she? 300? She saw her grandsons’ grandsons’ kids? My brain cannot comprehend this.
Upset that everyone is calling Ved Vyas, Bhagwan, and not Daddy Pitashri.
Sanjay has been turned into a satellite dish.
Arjun already looks like he is having second thoughts.
Goddamnit it, Arjun.
Krishna is like, now is my time to ✨ shine ✨
Never seen Krishna look so disappointed by Arjun.
My man Arjun is a simpleton. Don’t confuse him further, Krishna.
Did Krishna just call Arjun…impotent?
I love it when Krishna gets mad.
The Bhagavat Gita is going to be one long exercise in calling Arjun stupid it seems.
Krishna has been acting dodgy his whole life. Arjun has known him for most of it. So has he been living under a rock that he doesn’t realise that there is more to Krishna than what meets the eye? He was married to his sister. They are literal cousins. How could he be so oblivious?
Ahimsa hi param dharma hai. We will revisit this in avatar #9.
Arjun is like show me the receipts Vishwaroop.

The Guilt
Arjun sat there, on the floor, silently, his head hung low. He couldn't comprehend what had just happened. In one blow, they had lost everything, their Kingdom, themselves, and now....their wife.
But then, it hadn't been sudden. They had let this happen to themselves, hadn't they? They had played right into Uncle Shakuni's trap.
If Arjun wanted, he could kill everyone present here. But that would mean disobeying  Jyeshth, and Arjun couldn't do that.
He vaguely heard Duryodhan announce that Draupadi should be brought into the hall. His head snapped up, as he locked eyes with Sahadeva, who lowered his head in silence.
Pratikamin, Duryodhan's charioteer, was sent to bring Draupadi to the hall. Arjun swallowed the lump that was forming in his throat due to emotion. Draupadi wasn't in the condition to visit the court. She was having her blood, she was in pain, and they, her husbands, had compelled her to arrive at such a moment.
They waited in silence. As the silence grew, so did Arjun's nervousness. What was happening? Was Draupadi going to arrive? What would they say to her?
Draupadi was escorted in, crying and shaking. Arjun couldn't even meet her eyes, instead looking away, as tears cascaded down his cheeks.
She was clad in a single garment, which was clumsily tied on, her long, beautiful hair were open. Perhaps she had been resting all alone.
Duryodhan sent Dushasan to bring Draupadi forward, so that they could speak to her. "Panchali, you have been won by the Kauravas! Now you shall love and serve us only!" jeered Dushasan.
Love and serve?
Was their wife a slave-
Arjun was reminded of the fact that indeed, now She was a slave, all thanks to him and his brothers. Jyeshth who bet and lost her, and they all, who did nothing to protest or stop it from happening.
Arjun was snapped out of his chain of thoughts, as Dushasan grabbed Draupadi's hair, pulling her in the front, so that she was visible to everyone, while she beseeched him to stop, saying that she was not ready yet to visit the court.
Draupadi sobbed, and then gazed at each of them. Arjun, who had been feeling as if someone had set him on fire, felt an overwhelming sense of guilt, and looked away.
Each time Dushasan called his wife a slave, it felt as if someone was stabbing him.
But he knew, it was mostly his own fault.
Losing the kingdom, losing their property did not hurt as much, as the sad look that Draupadi sent their way did.
Arjun looked around the hall. His brothers, their heads lowered, Bhishma, Drona and Vidur, staring at the ground in shame, Karna, Shakuni and the other Kauravas laughing, Dhritarashtra looking troubled.
And he, who was silent.
"Daughter." spoke up Bhishma. "We all know that the wife is the property of the husband. Yudhishthira has fairly lost himself in this game, his brothers have accepted it. Yudhishthira voluntarily agreed to play-"
"He was asked to play." said Draupadi, her voice quivering. "This game was won by deceit, all of you are aware of this fact."
From the corner of his eyes, Arjun saw Bhima fire up. He looked very angry, and Arjun knew that he would do something irrational-
"Jyeshth, you are our elder. We have always listened to you in our life. When you lost all the precious gems, jewels, our property, and our Kingdom, we didn't say anything, as you are our elder. But staking Draupadi is a bad deed that you have committed. Even slaves are treated with kindness. For this crime of yours, I shall burn your hands. Sahadev, bring the fire!"
Arjun panicked, and decided it was time he said something.
"Bhrata Bheem, what are you doing?!" Arjun gripped his arm tightly. "Have you forgotten, disobeying our elder brother is against dharma?"
"Arjun," said Bheem. "If I had not seen how and what happened, then I would have burnt his hands by force!"
Vikarna, the Kaurava prince, stepped up, asking his father why no one was able to answer Draupadi's question, why all the learned people like Bhishma, Drona and Vidur were sitting silently.
Vikarna was doing something that he, Arjun, had not dared to do.
He couldn't say anything. That would mean disobeying his elder brother, opposing the actions of his Jyeshth, who had been like a father to him and his brothers.
On the other side, Arjun was also failing in his promise of protecting his family, keeping them safe, keeping his wife safe...
Draupadi was not just his wife, she was his friend as well. And he was being unfair by sitting silently like this, as she was roughly handled, dragged by Dushasan, jeered on and taunted by the Kauravas.
Draupadi was begging all of them, all of the warriors, all the elders, he and his brothers, to protect her, to stop what was happening.
And it wasn't her husbands who spoke up. It was Vikarna, his cousin. Vikarna, who Arjun recalled disliking, Vikarna who disliked him as well, the same Vikarna was now speaking up for Arjun's wife.
Vikarna stated that the game was adharma, as the Pandavas were effected by vice, and that Shakuni had been deceitful in winning this game. According to Vikarna, Draupadi hadn't been won, in a true sense.
Karna stood up suddenly, arguing that in fact, Draupadi had been won by dharma indeed, that she was The Pandavas' possession, and that Vikarna was speaking like a child.
His wife wasn't his possession-
"Dushasan, strip the Pandavas and their wife of their clothes!" Karna's words interrupted Arjun's thoughts.
Strip?
Did he hear that right?
Seeing everyone's horrified faces, Arjun believed with a growing horror, that he indeed had heard right.
Yudhishthira tugged off his upper garment, and seeing him, the rest of them did the same.
Then, Dushasan approached Draupadi, and grabbed the loose end of her saree.
They couldn't sink that low, thought Arjun.
But then, they had, indeed. They had sunk that low.
Draupadi closed her eyes, muttering a silent prayer to God, as Dushasan forcibly began tugging her garments away.
With tears in his eyes, Arjun prayed to his dear friend.
Save her Madhav.
And then, a miracle happened. As Dushasan tugged away the garment, another similar one appeared, then another, then another-
Oh Madhav, what have you done? Will you forgive me for my crime? Will the world forgive me? Will I be able to forgive myself? Will Krishnaa forgive me?
As Dushasan collapsed due to breathlessness, Arjun could finally breath again.

The Sun And The Moon
Chapter 8 - Angdesh
"So, what are your hobbies other than archery?" asked Divyanshi. At some point, she was bored with watching reels and Karn wasn't the person to start a conversation.
"I don't know. I can do archery well and..." he thought, "I can ride a horse." he said.
"Yeah, you can ride a horse." she repeated nonchalantly. "How is your mother? Do you go meet her often?"
"You know about my mother?" Karn asked.
"Of course, she is an important part of your side of the story." she said.
"How?" the chariot's speed reduced as Karn gained curiosity.
"She-she gave birth to you, that's how." Divyanshi didn't lie to him, just hid the truth.
"Oh yes!" he recalled and smiled, "You know about me already but I don't know you much. How was your life like in that yug?"
"It was boring. I had to get up early and travel from one place to another then those lectures," she sighed and smiled, "I had good friends, we used to sit in the canteen and plan for trips but we never got to go to those places. Once we planned to visit Goa and we even had the money but my friend, Akhil got sick; well, we had to cancel."
"You like to travel, don't you?" he asked.
"Like? No, I love to travel. I am a sucker for exploring places and hell yeah! The food is to die for!" she rambled, "Have you ever tried 'Delhi ki chaat'? Of course, you haven't! I could kill a person to have those-" she glanced at him, pausing herself from speaking, "I didn't mean that in that way."
"You should observe Dushasan when we talk about food the next time. One time we went to war and just before the battle he ate so much that he slept. We won the war but he had no idea. He slept for three days straight, Gandharaj was afraid that he died." he laughed.
Divyanshi laughed too. She had never seen him laugh like this. He was happy and so was she. She noticed the glow on his face when he smiled, his smile was to die for. Time passed like a lightning streak and they reached Angdesh.
"The palace is so beautiful!" she said in awe.
"It is better on the inside." Karn said, he motioned her to walk with him as helpers took their stuff.
"Oh! I could just stay here for eternity." she said.
"Maybe you should." he muttered.
She heard him and smiled. "That's magnificent!" she looked at the throne.
"I never liked it." he commented.
"Why?" she asked.
"It is a burden for a person. One needs a partner for it." he explained.
"That's deep." she commented.
"What-what are your thoughts on marriage? I mean you will marry someone here because you can't go back to 'your' life." he asked.
"Marriages don't work out easily. It would be tough to find a person whom I can agree with." she wondered more on the topic she never cared to ever think about, "Maybe that's why I don't want to get married. Dating is good but marriage is a big no."
"What if you find that person someday?" he added.
"There is an 'if' in that. I do take risks." she said, "The last time I did, it didn't end well. He beat me, I beat him and that was toxic."
"I am sorry." he apologised, "I hate such people."
Divyanshi didn't say anything, she nodded. The fact he said he hated those people but roamed with Duryodhan made her think if she really liked him or if was it just a summer crush. They spent the day wandering in the markets and telling their childhood stories to each other. The night went well after dinner, they sat under the moonlight in the rose garden.
"We didn't have Petunia Black Velvet because those are flowers of death and highly inauspicious. Roses are good." Karn said sitting on a rock.
"Roses are nice, I like them too." she sat with him. He was red sitting right next to her, he was indeed happy and his face said so. As always, it was glowing. This caught Divyanshi's attention. "When you get happy your face glows." she stated, "I just noticed that."
"Everyone's face glows when they smile." Karn shook off the comment.
"No, I mean that your face literally glows. These kundals actually glow when you are happy." she explained. "I knew that they are with you since your birth but I had no idea that these glow."
Karn's smile dropped, "I never told you about these glowing nor anyone else." Divyanshi knew she messed up, "You know something important, don't you?"
"I know about the kundals because I am from the future, remember?" she tried to hide that she knew about his origin.
"Why are not telling anyone about what you know?" he inquired.
"Because if I tell you or anyone about it, something worse can happen." she tried to reason, she stood up, and went back to the palace.
"What is it? A war? Someone dies, right? Is it some old secret that will be revealed?" Karn followed her in the corridor and grabbed her wrist. He held it gently and brought her to stand in front of him against the wall. The more he spoke the more he brought his face to hers.
"I don't want to ruin anything. If someone is going to change those events it is going to be me so don't interfere with my plan. It's extremely necessary." she stated, her heart was pounding. The distance between their faces was not even an inch.
"Please answer me!" he spoke softly, "I don't want to get hurt hearing the truth from someone else."
Not knowing what to do and not wanting to answer, she unknowingly pecked him. Parting after realising what she had done was absolutely foolish she went to her room hastily while he stood staring into nothingness.
