MS.D’ANTONIOOOOOOOOOOOOOO‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ pick two john wick characters who you would HATE IF THEY WERE YOUR PARENTS!! like two people who are NOT gonna be good guardians
AYOO 🗣‼️
I love how I'm being referred as Ms. D'Antonio 🤭
Very interesting question... imma have to go with:
Viggo: Bro just popped up in my mind bc like... he gives me vibes that he would be drinking vodka and smoking weed like every day. Getting high af bc fuck everyone 💀 I don't think he would be a good parent to me, he's a wild boy's dad type. Yes, he's a rich ass but... stop getting drunk and smoking weed bro 😭
Ok so this is very random bc I can't remember anyone else but:
Bowery king: BRO IS LIVING WITH PIGEONS WHAT ELSE DO I HAVE TO SAY?? Okay he would be like an okay parent, idk he seems like okay, but... the living circumstances are not it, I'm sorry. And he wouldn't probably even have time for all that, he's just gonna be playing with his pigeons 😓
THIS IS NOT A SHIP BTW!
I really couldn't think of anyone else at the moment lmfao 💀
#john wick#viggo jw#bowery king#the most two random people i could've think of 😭#viggo definitely not a good parent#Bowery king would be trying but still nope

Omg HI HELLO @kavalyera thank u for enabling me!!
In many John Wick circles and discussions, this scene is referenced either for its sincere intensity or for insane people like me, who simp over John Wick watching the light in a man's eyes fade away. However I haven't heard or seen anyone really analyse what this scene means in the context of the wider narrative, and John's 'Fall from Grace' (where he is pulled back into the world of assassins) or WHY this moment is so iconic for fans of the franchise.
To do that, let's refresh on has happened thus to our titular character, John Wick.
●He managed to escape the Assassin World against all odds to live a normal life with his Wife, Helen
●Helen Wick dies 5 years later, leaving him a puppy as a final gift. This is the starting point of the movie
●The puppy is murdered by Iosef Tarasov, his favorite car stolen, and his house smashed up
●He has managed to track Iosef down to the Red Circle Nightclub where there are many guards/assassins trying to keep Iosef safe.
In essence, John Wick hasn't worked as an assassin for 5 or so years and he's had a taste of civilian life but more importantly by staying OUT of the assassin business, no-one has come calling. Winston even warns him prior to his departure to the Red Circle about how risky it is to be hunting Iosef:
"You dip so much as a pinky back into this pond... you may well find something reaches out and drags you back into its depths"
The movie by this point has established two things;
1. John's need for revenge both as a genuine desire to kill Iosef and to cope with the grief over Helen's death
2. Exacting this revenge may very well (and later does) force him back into the assassin life he fought hard to escape from, making his efforts and sacrifices to get there for nothing.
Up until this point in the movie, you can argue that all the killings John Wick commits for his end goal were in self-defense (the kill squad sent to his house) or part of said end goal (Iosef's buddies in the washroom) but that is lost the second he is inside The Red Circle.
Here you are greeted with two quick kills of security guards that are only tied to Iosef via proxy of his father, which then leads into the scene I'm talking about. The third security guard, just like the other two, has nothing to do with John Wick. They did not break into his house, kill his dog and steal his car. Their only crime was that they went to their job that day and were obstacles placed in John Wick's warpath.
John Wick knows this.
It is in this moment, that the 'old' life he left behind looks at him through the eyes of the dying man and John can do nothing but stare back. One could argue that in this moment rather than John being unable to look away, he instead chooses not to. He HAS to watch this nameless man die for he knows that he will be one of many to come. John Wick does not shy from the gruesome truth before his eyes and faces it head on. He watches the light fade, and his past self revive in the same moment. A man's death gives life back to the Assassin 'Baba Yaga', a life that John the Man had chosen to kill in order to live as a husband to Helen. That is, until Helen dies.
This is one of if not the only scene where John is intimate with his kill. Even the framing, the lasting seconds given, allow the moment to breathe. It is a shot that does not occur again because doesn't need to. This single moment encapsulates John's full commitment to Assassin and everyone else (excluding assassins or characters he has history with) is as nameless as this man when it comes to fulfilling his goals.
At the same time, the physical sensations that come with fighting, overpowering and killing someone must be coursing through his veins. Even if he, at this point in time, still believes he can return to the quiet civilian life he built (despite the audience being aware that such a thing will not come to pass) his body does not recognise such a future belief and muscle memory is not to be underestimated. In this moment, his body HAS to be in the heightened state that comes with being an assassin. So he pauses. He takes a moment. To watch a man die. To feel his own body coursing with adrenaline and memory of all those years spent killing. He looks into the eyes of death and it asks
"Did you miss me?"

5 DILFS of the John Wick franchise who aren’t John Wick: very put together list by me and I’m definitely not writing this after getting up from like an hour nap
5.) Kirill - he may not be a father but Daniel Bernhardt is so he counts. I love how constantly stressed he looks in every scene and at this point we might aswell consider Iosef as his kid from how many grey hairs he has because of him💀 anyways, dilf bodyguard. Pros: strong, hot, actually a quick-thinker, cool. Cons: pushed a woman, will continue to push women.
4.) Viggo - what else do you want. Mob boss, actually does have a kid, probably the most coolest mafia boss I’ve ever seen. He’s the funniest guy ever and also I will romanticize his actions from hell to back. He’s also a shit father but let’s not talk about that🥰 (He literally put his son in danger) (He punched said son two times) (He ALSO grieved his son BEFORE he died). Pros: generally powerful socially, has networks and influence across New York, the only villain who knew John’s power. Cons: shit father, punches his own kid, still stupid enough to fight John in the rain without a weapon but at least he looked cool doing so.
3.) Harbinger - im sorry I find Clancy Brown hot that’s all there is to this. He’s enigmatic, he serves as a (kind of) father figure to Marquis if you really think about it. He’s also dressed in black always, and also he has a sick ass scar. John Wick Chapter 4 screenplay calls him a “behemoth of a man”. Michael Finch and Shay Hatten’s words not mine. Pros: actually chill, wiseful and mindful👍, the most respectful High Table emissary. Cons: high table emissary.
2.) Koji - Hirouyuki Sanada with a sword. He’s also a father of a very mean daughter which is funny cause he’s actually really chill (what is it with mean kids and their chill dads in this movie series??) anyways. He owns a cool ass hotel, he’s hot, I don’t think he has a wife (or a husband.) Pros: he’s super respectful and gracious!!! Also, really puts relationships above all things. Cons: he gets betrayed.
1.) Caine - now we have mean dad and chill daughter. Well, we don’t know exactly if Mia is chill yet but she kinda looks chill so. Anyways, Caine!! Ngl the cuntiest person in JW4 I don’t care if John Wick is there or Akira or Vincent, Caine is by far the coolest fucking guy in that movie and I will die on this hill. Pros: will fight for his family, funny, won’t kill certain types people. Cons: pissed off a friend’s daughter😨

This is my first time editting, but I made some for my John Wick friends, inspired by this Rogue One gifset. I unfortunately don't know how to make gifs yet, so stills will have to do for now.

i rlly like stealing headcanons from yu/silly anyways do u have john wick headcanons no pressure ofc mootie patootie
riccardo scamarcio going through an existential crisis for the soul
I will always forever love this photo, it’s in my favorites album in my gallery 💕
Silly John wick headcanons here we go‼️
John likes to stand in front of the tv like how little kids do (inspired by this image from destination wedding 💀)
Viggo is on level 7163 of Candy Crush
^Whenever he’s not in a meeting or doing business, that’s what he’s doing
Iosef complains about it too; saying if he can’t play COD, he can’t play his ‘stupid puzzle games’ (he’s just salty he got his Xbox taken away)
If Gianna did spontaneously take Santi with her to go out, she would force him to take her instagram photos whenever the sun was shining perfectly and the wind was blowing through her hair
^it left Santino in tears
Gianna watches my little pony when she’s extremely bored (especially the rarity episodes)
The D’Antonio siblings always take pictures of the other sleeping and it’s become a joke to a routine now
Ares and Chidi have a sibling bond; whenever Santino and Vincent are too busy arguing, they just mess around
^Chidi likes to give her piggy back rides around the halls cause Ares basically weighs nothing to him
Cassian is also like a brother to Ares
The bodyguards having a sibling-like relationship <3
Tracker and his Daisy love to people watch
^ he’s one of those dog owners that give their dogs 5 course meals
Akira really likes popsicles; she would be eating one any time of day or weather
Winston is a crossword puzzle grandpa

SUMMARY : A fresh out of high school Iosef Tarasov has been missing for a week. Viggo assigns his son’s bodyguard to find him.
PAIRING : Iosef Tarasov & Kirill
New York, 2005; it’s cold outside. 1:00 AM— precisely 1:27 AM. The months are slipping into January, the coldest month of the year in New York. It’s dark out and Kirill wonders why Iosef has been gone for a week and two days since the clock struck 12:00.
Here are the numbers: twenty-three, nine, zero . Twenty-three missed calls from Mr. Tarasov to his son, Iosef who was supposedly staying at his friend’s apartment; nine voice messages from Mr. Tarasov all left unread and unchecked, and zero replies from Iosef who God knows where he is. Dead, running away, kidnapped, out sleeping at another friend’s place that no one in the mob knows— who knows. What Kirill does know is that if Viggo is agitated, so is everyone under the name of the Tarasov mob.

My spoilery thoughts on John Wick: Chapter 4....
I am a big fan of the John Wick films as an action movie fan. Along with the MI films, the JW films have probably been the best demonstration of what action movies can be. Each film has subsequently upped the ante successfully. Personally, the first one was still my favorite because I don't think any subsequent sequel has managed to have the emotional connect of a revenge film, which is what the first film essentially was. But that isn't to say that the next two films weren't fabulous entertainment. My only real issue with these films have been that I haven't been completely on board with the narrative. That's an assessment that carried on in JW4. But lets face it, the story of John Wick is only really there to connect one action scene to another. The action itself is the meat of the movies and John Wick 4 is one of the most glorious exhibitions of action I have seen in a movie theatre. I think seeing MI6, or Max Max: Fury Road were the last times I really felt like this.
What's most impressive about the film is that it does not feel overlong. I was admittedly very wary of an almost 3 hour run time for an action movie. John Wick films aren't exactly films where you get time to breathe, with drama and humor, but this film thankfully does provide sufficient break in between the very long action set pieces. And more importantly, the action doesn't feel like its repetitive. The different sequences have a different feel to them. And its hard to pick a favorite. Its also easily the funniest of the John Wick films. I'm not sure how much of that is intentional and how much of that is just because the franchise has graduated to being a live action action cartoon, and I don't mean that in any negative way. I think it must have been intentional. I mean, the entire sequence in Paris is just ridiculously absurd. John Wick gets either thrown into, hit by, or falls on, about 7 vehicles at least, and then gets thrown down an incredibly long stone staircase, and then just shrugs it off. When you compare that with the first John Wick, where he gets injured enough to struggle somewhat against Viggo in the climax, its clear that they have very much heightened and accepted the ridiculousness of this world. There is a massive tracking shot action sequence which is clearly inspired by video games. I will also give credit to someone like Donnie Yen, who definitely contributes to a fair bit of the humor in this film.
The film brings in a lot of new characters to the fold. Donnie Yen's Caine is the most prominent among them and he's great and absolute scene stealer. Bill Skarsgard is appropriately sadistic and slimy, so you really do enjoy him getting shot in the head by John at the end. Its one of the biggest applause moments in the theatre. The tracker, played by Shamier Anderson, is also a lot of fun. We also get this movie's dog with his character, because what is a John Wick film without a dog. The dog provides some great moments as well. Hiroyuki Sonada is always someone who lends a lot of gravitas whenever he's on screen. Rina Sawayama is also excellent as his daughter. Scott Atkins hams it up in a great way as one of the villains Wick has to deal with along the way. Clancy Brown and his great baritone are always a welcome presence. The returning cast largely has minor roles, barring Ian McShane as Winston, who is wonderful as always. Lance Reddick has a fairly small appearance and his death in the movie has additional poignancy due to his real life passing. Laurence Fishburne also appears only in about 4 scenes but he's clearly also having a lot of fun. Obviously, Keanu Reeves is this franchise. As with previous film, he completely embraces the physicality of the role. He's never going to be the most expressive actor and at this point its difficult to know where Keanu ends and where John Wick begins because the characters' way of speaking is basically Keanu in real life. But that's why he's unique and why we love him. He's always brilliant to watch.
As I mentioned, I am not completely sold on the story in these movies. In other movies that would be a major issue but not in this franchise. Whereas the first John Wick is a fairly self contained revenge story, subsequent films have emphasized that the whole high table structure structure is corrupt, and JW2 and 3 both made the promise that John Wick would bring the whole thing down, which eventually doesn't happen. While John killing the Marquis is very satisfying, it doesn't seem like it will affect the whole high table structure in the long run because they themselves have mentioned that the high table will just choose another. So I'm not 100% satisfied that John died without seemingly accomplishing that much. Also, we didn't get to see the Adjudicator from Chapter 3 get comeuppance, and there are some characters that I wish would have come back like Common's Cassion or Halle Berry's Sofia.
However, apart from this, the film is a lot of fun. Well paced and completely entertaining with jaw dropping cinematography, which should get Oscar consideration. If this is the end of the main series, then Chad Stahelski's has done a remarkable job shepherding this franchise where each film has been gold. All in all, a 9/10.

people looooove to post videos of ke.anu doing a single line read in the jw series and talk about how "he's kind of a bad actor but it's okay because he's nice" but like
if you look at that warehouse scene in the first movie and the monologue he gives to viggo. that's a strong fucking performance and i mean it.
#ooc.#“but look at how weird and stilted this reading is!! nobody talks like this!!”#they say posting a line reading from a highly-stylized and elevated film series#naturalism isn't the only form of acting#i know it's held to a higher standard but also.. idk why#i feel like stylistic acting is a lot more difficult#because you have to create something that Does feel kind of goofy at times#that Does feel off#it's the same thing around people (the academy/the industry) finding dramas better than comedies#meanwhile comedies are infinitely harder to pull off#and pull off well#that's my soap box#good day

Persephone | John Wick x Reader (Eight)
Words: 2535
Warning: Usual JW-verse, tension
Previously: As a result of your meeting with Abram Tarasov, you agree to look into the Sokolovs who Abram suspects are receiving help from someone associated with the High Table. If you deal with the problem, he’ll agree to aid you. Memories reveal that the Instructor was aware of your eventual betrayal and had sent someone to steal information from you.
-
One month ago
Gavriil Sokolov didn’t have much to his name. He inherited the role as the leader of the Sokolov family and mob when his father passed, but he had no idea what he was doing. He knew that. Everyone else knew that.
The Sokolov household was an equivalent to vassals compared to the bigger houses like Tarasov. After way too many times of being used and discarded and dismissed by the other Russian houses, and his people doubting his leadership skills, Gavriil decided he had enough. He was going to rebuild the Sokolov mob and make it stronger than ever. To do that, he would have to aim high, higher than what anyone thought he’d be capable of.
Rozaliya Romanova was a hard woman to find, but he managed to do so. She ran an exclusive underground Russian club in San Francisco, California, called Astraea, and his contact managed to strike a deal for him to meet her at said location.
Dark corners, costumed dancers, brick walls, and stage shows. Gavriil had never been to such clubs before. He wasn’t like that idiot Iosef Tarasov. He had it coming when he messed with John Wick. But now that the Boogeyman is out and about, who knows whether he will get in the way of Gavriil’s plans.
Gavriil was led into a private room on the second floor of the building where half of the walls were painted black and a large wide window overlooked the club. He walked over to the long glowing fish tank and tapped the glass while three security guards stationed themselves by the door.
A door hidden within the wall opened, revealing a tall blonde woman in a red and white suit striding in, her red high heels clacking along the floor. She whipped her hair over her shoulder and sat on one of the black leather couches. She gestured to the couch next to her and leaned back, crossing her legs.
“Want anything to drink?” Rozaliya asked once Gavriil was seated.
He straightened himself out and nodded. “Sure, why not?”
She gestured for one of the guards to let a waiter in. He carried over a bottle of vodka along with two glasses on a tray, then left. “I heard you wanted to speak to me? Why?”
“Yes, I heard you can be quite resourceful,” he said.
She laughed. “Anyone can be resourceful, but you want something more, don’t you? What makes you think I’ll help you, Gavriil Sokolov? You and your small family that seems to be getting smaller by the month. I have this,” she waves her hands towards the club, “What can you bring?”
Gavriil smiled, pulling out an envelope from his jacket pocket. The guards stiffened, but Rozaliya held a hand out to stop them. Gavriil handed the envelope to her and leaned back. Her blue eyes flickered across his features, then back at the envelope. She took out a knife from her pocket and ripped it open, reading the contents with a careful eye.
“How did you get this?” she inquired.
Gavriil smirked. “I did some digging. This system that we’re in favors the few that live on top while they use the rest of us like pawns. Even then, they still fight amongst each other for more power. That document is one of the few evidence that exist that proves that your father had been murdered for his seat.”
“And?” She cocked an eyebrow. “Murder for a seat on the Table has been done many times. You didn’t see anyone from the Table looking into it when Gianna Santino was murdered.”
“And, while John Wick had destroyed most of the blackmail material that Viggo Tarasov had on other families,” Gavriil paused to pour the glasses for her and himself, “My men may have found that one or two of those materials had been hidden somewhere else. Now that Tarasov had been weakened, it didn’t take much to retrieve them. With Tarasov falling apart and an unqualified leader that stole your father’s seat, I figured that a new family should rise above the old ones, don’t you? How long has the same families have been controlling everything?”
Rozaliya pursed her lips. “I see,” she said slowly.
Who was he to speak of falling power and unqualified leadership? Does he even know who he was talking to? He doesn’t even know what his own father had done when he was the leader of the Sokolov house. At least Rozaliya had been more involved when her father was still around. She knew how the Underworld worked, and if he were to suggest new leadership, it wouldn’t be as simple as overpowering the old line, it would have to be better.
If only she got word from her old friend soon.
But she supposed that the only way to keep an eye on this Gavriil Sokolov before he did anything reckless, she would have to go along with it.
“So, you take over the other families, including Tarasov, and I take the seat on the Table?” Rozaliya presumed, playing with the glass in her hand.
Gavriil nodded with a grin. He held out his glass towards her. “Exactly.”
She paused for a moment, then smiled, clinking her glass with his. He downed the drink and slammed the glass down. She finished hers and got up, leading him towards the door.
“We’ll be in contact, then, Mr. Sokolov,” she said, holding a hand out.
“Please, call me Gavriil,” he said, shaking her hand firmly.
Rozaliya simply sniffed and gave him over to the guards to lead him out, but held one back. She waited until they were downstairs before turning to the guard. “Yevgeni, let me know when word of Persephone’s whereabouts get out,” she ordered.

You were back in that elaborate apartment. This time, you were sitting comfortably in one of the rooms while skimming through a copy of The Double by Fyodor Dostevsky. The blonde woman came over with a mug of coffee for you along with a plate of sweets. The chair across from you was suddenly occupied with a woman with mousy brown hair. She looked older, her features sharper, and laugh lines evident on her face.
“So what else can you tell me about my parents?” you asked the older woman.
A cup of tea was set in front of her as she hummed. “Well, they were kind-hearted. Too kind-hearted. But your father needed the money. While honor should be a staple trait within the Underworld, there were many that got away with not using it,” she said, “I wanted to help them. I knew that Ophelia owed a favor to my daughter, and so long as she honored it, your family could be free.”
You frowned, putting the book down and straightening out. Her daughter sat next to you with a cookie and her own cup of tea. You turned to her and asked, “So what was the favor?”
“It was simply to let you leave the Theater with no conditions,” she said, “your parents were technically out of debt the moment they gave you over to the Instructor and her Theater, but she still had a hold on them while you were still under her. Letting you go will get rid of your family’s ties with her.”
“And why did you two wanted to help me and my family?”
They exchanged a look and smiled softly. “They’re our friends,” the older woman said, “We may be a part of this Underworld, but we still have rules and standards to who we associate with. To show mercy is to show strength, to show kindness is to show bravery; that’s what they reminded us. They needed help, and we wanted to help them under someone who will honor their word.”
She leaned forward and reached out her hand. You weren’t sure how to respond, looking over at her daughter again. She nodded, indicating for you to do the same. You reached out until she could encase her thing hands over yours.
“We will help you in any way we can. You need only to reach out.” She pressed a small pink star pendant into your palm.

You considered your meeting with Abram Tarasov to be a success, but John was still wary of it. He had heard of the sudden spike of activities from Sokolov, but they weren’t something to be concerned about at the time. He was too busy running for his life while every assassin in the world wanted to kill him.
After much thought, you decided to confide John with the flashes of memories that occur here and there, either through dreams, an action, or even a phrase. From the latest memory, it seemed that the target that Ophelia had assigned you to was someone you had grown to trust. The woman and her mother knew your parents and were willing to help your family get out of the Underworld. You wondered what had happened that led to Ophelia to order to put a target on your parents’ head after all those years.
You had been going through the batch of weapons that Caius had sent in, well, you were staring at John who would handle, disassemble, and reassemble them in rapid succession, when one of the Bowery Boys notified you about a potential contact coming in later in the day. You nodded at him and turned back to John who handed you the gun he had finished assembling. There was a hint of playfulness as he checked his watch, readying to time you.
The gun was fairly light and small enough to conceal under clothing or a bag. You had gone through the movements that John had done in your head, then nodded to yourself. Shouldn’t be too hard.
“Ready?” John taunted.
“Of course,” you said quickly, widening your stance while you placed the gun on the table.
He gave you the signal and you immediately picked up the gun again, holding the gun with two hands as if aiming before drawing it closer to your chest. You then reloaded the gun and aimed again, pointing the barrel at John with narrowed eyes. He smirked, but said nothing. You took out the clip and began to take the gun apart, laying each piece out, before working to assemble it again. You were so focused that you didn’t pay attention to John’s movements.
You felt one of his hands reach around you and wrapped around your neck, but didn’t squeeze. He leaned closer to you. “You’re going to have to work faster than that,” he whispered.
“Squeeze harder and maybe I will,” you teased. You were just about finished when he did squeeze.
John could feel you swallow under his palm, your pulse racing under his thumb. “There’s one piece left. You’re slacking.” You grabbed the last piece from the table and finished the gun, placing it down. “Good girl.”
You shivered. “I hope you realize how lucky you are that you’re the only person who can get away with calling me that,” you muttered, turning around to glare at him.
He smirked, backing you up against the table. “You think you can take me on?”
“I know I can. I was trained to kill you, remember?”
“Oh, yeah, that.”
“Yup.”
“You want to have a go right now?”
That made you snort. “Don’t tempt me, Jonathan.”
“I’m glad I’m a temptation to you,” he said, pressing his forehead on yours.
Before you could give a retort, another Bowery Boy popped their head into the room. “Um, the Bowery King said the contact will be brought to the throne room. So… when you’re done with… all of whatever you guys are doing, meet him there,” he said, looking between you and John, then walked off.
-
You stood between John and the Bowery King as the Bowery Boys led a stout man in a simple fitted suit with some kind of star symbol on his lapel over with a bag over his head. The man had been seen actively seeking out the Bowery King, slipping gold coins to any Bowery Boy he could find. The Bowery King relented, making sure that the location of the Soup Kitchen were hidden before agreeing to meet him.
The man was sat down in a wooden chair with his arms tied behind him. When the Bowery King was satisfied that the situation could be held under control, he sat down on his throne across from the man and motioned for one of his Boys to take the bag off of him. John remained by your side, observing the man with sharp eyes.
“You know the drill, state your name and business,” The Bowery King said.
“I am Yevgeni and I have been assigned to search for the whereabouts of Persephone. I’m one of the contacts,” he stated, his eyes drifting from the Bowery King to you. “Rose sent me.”
The Bowery King raised his eyebrows and looked over to you. “This is Yevgeni?” he asked.
You stepped forward, squeezing John’s hand in reassurance when he went to grab you, and looked the man over. You remember the face, an unfortunate resting frown, a bald head, and a rose tattoo on his neck. Even the star pendant looked familiar.
“What does mercy show?” you tested him.
“Strength,” he answered firmly.
“What does kindness show?”
“Bravery.”
You looked up at John who eased up a little. “Rose, your boss, what does she look like?”
“Tall. Blonde. Likes red and pink. She had retrieved information you found over the years and kept it safe,” he said, nodding over to the suitcase that one of the Bowery Boys confiscated from him.
They took it to the side to inspect it, then deemed it safe. Yevgeni told them the code and they went to work on opening it. They opened it for you, revealing a pink star pendant on top of a few bundles of documents. You picked up the pendant, tracing a finger over the pattern, then placed it back in the suitcase.
“Okay,” you said, “Why did she send you?”
“There are things that you need to know, events that transpired during those five years that you were away. The information should be with the rest of the documents. That was all she wanted me to do until you choose to contact her.”
When you were done with your questioning, the Bowery Boys took him back to their initial meeting spot, leading him through the buildings and the streets with the bag over his head. You promised to go over the documents with the Bowery King, taking the pendant and the note from Rose with you to your room.
“John, who’s the Russian family that sits on the Table?” you asked him.
“Romanova, why?” John walked over to you, silently asking to read the note.
You handed it over to him. His eyes widened as he neared the end of the note. “This could make things easier or harder for us,” he said.
Your lips were drawn into a thin line. “I know.”
At the bottom of the note, signed with a flourish, was Rosaliya Romanova’s name.

Hey, I just red your amazing fight analysis and I want to know what you think about the scene where the bartender at the continental bar in the first movie says to John that he looks „vulnerable“. Do you think it’s the look in his eyes or the way he acts or moves ? (Which in my opinion look pretty normal) and how do you think John was before he left the business? Was he more cruel with his kills ?
I'm guessing you mean this scene, right? I hope so because I made this gif JUST for this ask since I LOVE what you've sent in. Thank you @persephone411 💖💖
To answer why the bartender picks up on John's vulnerability without him seemingly displaying any signals, I'll first and foremost use what I know of the later instalments regarding John's behaviour. And that is how much he speaks. Between movies 1 and 2, there's only a 15 word difference in regards to how many lines of dialogue he has (1st movie has 484, 2nd has 499) and for a movie that has a run time of 1 hour and 40-ish minutes, that's not alot of dialogue to begin with.
Take for example, Jack Sparrow from the 1st Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Reading through the script, I counted roughly 490 lines of dialogue from him and that movie has a runtime of 20 minutes LESS than John Wick 1!
So we know that John isn't a talker. Yet, when he finds himself back at the Continental bar, and reunites with the bartender who knows him very well, and given how familiar they are (her excitement at seeing him, a brief hug/cheek kiss) it becomes apparent that John is more... open. He doesn't just order a drink and say nothing else. He engages with her, and expresses, "She (helen) was more than I deserved." Which by all accounts expresses a softer side to John, an admission that he is not impervious to grief. Assassins don't do that. Retired he may still technically be, he is still in a room full of people who are NOT retired, who could overhear and see the man behind Baba Yaga. That sentimentality can get you killed in the Assassin world.
Secondly, his face is sporting a few rough marks, and I very much doubt John the Baba Yaga would show himself at the Continental bar sporting proof he can be injured.
As my final thought, for me personally, it's his tone and his eyes that give away his grief. His inner turmoil that will eventually overflow into a bloody tsunami. The micro-movements of his face as he pauses, when he looks away, and even when he greets her, the man is Tired. The man is not at this point in time, the Baba Yaga.
The second part of your ask is very interesting because we have almost next to nothing to go off of! No prequels (thank god) and barely any direct Lore other than what others speak about John which ironically, is missing direct context which leaves us viewers to speculate.
The John we know is the old John. The grieving John. The Man. We get glimpses of what he used to be, and how characters react upon hearing his name but we never get the Baba Yaga. Not entirely.
Continuing off this, my personal speculation is that John wasn't a vicious killer. He was an incredibly efficient one. You can buy time with a sadist if you are able to withstand them long enough for help to arrive but you cannot do the same towards someone whose only goal is to kill you on sight. As quickly as possible. And that someone also happens to be the best of the best. Combine those two skills and I think that is what makes Baba Yaga so terrifying to those in the underworld. It was enough for Viggo, head of a massive Russian syndicate, to go silent upon hearing the name despite knowing John had been retired for 5 years!!
On another note, and this barely gets touched upon but throughout the movie you come to know that for such a silent and deadly killer, John has a weird amount of people willing to die for him.
The High Table actively discourages and creates a continually hostile environment amongst assassins so that bonds and genuine alliances/friendships can't begin nor be maintained and yet... look how many people are willing to so far for John.
This speaks to the level of respect and integrity John must have to simultaneously be a deadly killer AND to not be hated by everyone.
He does his job well but he is not cruel. He will not endanger unrelated persons if he can help it, he is sincere and loyal.
It's why the High Table fuckin hates him.

talk to me about the scene from the original script where jw goes to a diner, orders coffee and a donut, then leaves the diner, goes across the street to a bank, stages a fake robbery, burns all of viggo’s shit because he’s petty, then goes back across the street as if nothing happened, and sits back down just as his coffee and donut are delivered to his table
#he fucking had a double-sided jacket that he flipped inside out#he put on a mask#he hid a gun in an alley somewhere#dude had this planned out perfectly#and when you read it#it's just... so Smooth#i love it

90s john wick fic would go hard because it’s him still the underworld, younger d’antonio siblings who probably haven’t thought of betrayal since their father is still alive, mafias in new york are struggling to climb to power, the high table has a tight grip on the entire underworld, political systems were reforming, sofia would have been an assassin, teen akira and vincent, viggo could still be climbing to the top, caine would be struggling to find a way out of the table, and also helen is alive

JW character most likely to eat bees
Okay I’m gonna list the characters and their stances on eating bees because it’s past midnight and this is the most important thing in my life rn
John is feral and has definitely eaten bees
Winston and Marcus both haven’t eaten bees but could do if they ever decided to
Viggo has eaten like one (1) bee mainly cause John was eating them and wanted to be polite
Iosef is a little pussy and has choked on a bee involuntarily
Santino is a big ole pussy and doesn’t eat bees because he thinks it’ll hurt his tongue unlike his sister who ate buckets of them
