Mirrorman (special effects) J-pop

Like the "Ultraman" series, this is a special effects work by Tsuburaya Productions. As the name Mirror suggests, he is a superhuman of light, so his special moves tend to be light rays, and he lacks a bit of variety. Therefore, I feel that it was short-lived as a Tsuburaya production work. Another thing I would like to point out is that there was a work called ``Silver Mask'' on the back program that had a similar taste, and we had the misfortune of eating into each other's viewership ratings.

「ウルトラマン」シリーズと同じく、特撮の円谷プロの作品。ミラーという名前の通り、光の超人であるだけに、必殺技が光線技に偏り、すこしヴァリエーションに欠けた。だから、円谷プロ作品としては短命に終わった感がある。もうひとつ言うと、裏番組に、よくテイストの似た「シルバー仮面」という作品があり、視聴率を喰い合ったという不運もある。

i’m sad about the acolyte being cancelled and i don’t think it was the right call but this is absolutely NOT an example of a show being under-marketed and set up to fail. a star wars show has not been as advertised as much as this was since obi-wan kenobi, honestly maybe even mando season 2.

Olympics every fucking time:

We're unfairly making shit up, there are no rules, we decide who wins, we have irradiated/dangerously filthy waters for the swim team, anti-sex beds, some of the worst places for the athletes to stay, not including the countries we send them too, we hired a russian organization that calls any athelete that beats their person, trans, and we constantly make decisions that go against the nature of a sport by randomly deciding people lost for some reason.

Yeah why is this still a thing? Most of the games are basically set up to be rigged one way or another? Like they just did that. They literally are doing that right now. Again.

Who're the olympics for? It seems less sport and more god awful reality TV anymore. Seems more dangerous than it's worth too, when Russia can cause a hatemob upon an athelete simply for winning (Imane) and the pool for the swim team is in the equivalent of a polluted sewer.

starting to see nervous chatter about whether iwtv will get renewed... which is insane because literally up until now I hadn't even considered in my mind that there's even a slight chance it wouldn't. Like, firstly it's airing on actual tv alongside streaming, so in my head that puts some level of security on it (whether or not that's true, thats just how my mind operates). Second, we got a dvd release. Third, and most importantly, it's part of this giant Immortal Universe franchise they're building - very vocally building. They've said multiple times how they're expanding this whole franchise and they're even starting to introduce more elements like the Talamasca. So I mean, it would literally make zero sense to not have the core series, iwtv, keep going on to prop up the rest of this franchise that everything else will be connected to. Mayfair Witches is not doing as well, so they'd certainly axe that before iwtv. Being based on a well-known book series puts iwtv more in the Good Omens category than the ofmd category, in my mind. As we all know the streaming industry loves existing IP these days.

the not-high ratings does surprise me, at least on streaming (on cable? this isn't exactly the kind of show adults who still have cable watch). but I don't know what to make of that. I'm barely in the fandom. IWTV is one of the most well-written, well-made tv series of the 21st century. It may still be niche, but I can see zero reason why AMC wouldn't continue it. Dear lord I literally cannot handle any more cancellations so for my own sake I'm going to need to plug my ears and not listen to any anxiety surrounding this one.

Genuinely so tired of companies cancelling good, solid shows with great casts and more story to tell after only a season or two. I am exhausted by the way things are going for media wherein a project can be almost done, or even completely done and then get scrapped by companies because apparently they get tax breaks for that??

How is this an ideal culture for art to grow and develop and be appreciated?

The ls ratings this season make me so sad. Do you think there is still hope for more seasons?

I have no frame of reference for whether ratings are good or bad and more importantly what FOX uses to justify renewals (for instance if they put more stock into streaming views after the fact than just pure live ratings) so I don’t have a good answer for you, unfortunately.

My suggestion is to ignore the ratings and focus on enjoying this current season (and hyping it up as much as possible on social media if you use that & rewatching on streaming sites like Hulu if you have access to that), and then if it’s renewed we can be excited for more seasons! and if it isn’t - we can all be sad together (and/or go wild with the petitioning for a pickup like some fandoms do) but then also be excited for different projects from all of our favorite actors on the show.

Info about the ratings regarding the cartoon. Apparently what was released to the public at one point in time was worse than what the reception actually was - reason could be that it was from ‘one local market’, not all the ratings in general.
