r/thehatguy aita for treating someone for being weird? i know how that title sounds but bear with me. i (M17) come from a predominantly rich family that is known internationally. when this person (GN17) came up to me, being all weird, acting like i know them. i was thinking that they were going to use me for connections / money / fame / etc. i didn't want that to slide obviously so i told them (dis)respectfully to fuck off. despite, my warning messages, they kept persistently to be friendly with me. in my personal opinion, i hate clingy people especially when we first met.

✨Fairies Finds✨: New Early Artwork and Promotional Video from 2005 Disney Fairies Japan Website with Gail Carson Levine- Author of Fairy Dust Trilogy

Fly with you everyone and happy Friday the 13th! I have been looking into Disney Fairies pre-release stuff ever since some early stuff was posted into Art of Disney Fairies. I have also been interested in media preservation since late 2017 when I found Web Back Then. Truthfully, despite having this interest when trying to find the old Disney Fairies games from my childhood- I never really shared much with the world. I feel like I should remedy that! (this find is relatively recent though I found it yesterday!)

This is a video I found on the Internet Archive from disneyfairies.jp, a promotional page on the Disney Japan website that seems disconnected from the main Disney Fairies page which was a clone of the original website. See here

Through some research the gist of the video is this:

The video starts with an introduction to the original Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, which is interjected with clips from Disney's Peter Pan. Then we see more artwork of Disney Fairies- including unfamilar designs including early Vidia, Rani, Fira etc. According to Part of the Magic, Disney Fairies started development in early 2001- the series was launched fully in 2005. Then Gail (dubbed of course) begins to describe the plot of Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg whilst we see several pictures of this early Disney Fairies art. Interesting pictures as we get to see the very early designs of Disney Fairies characters that I have never seen before.

Interestingly, this video was never embedded on the page, you had to download it and play it through a video player such as Windows Media Player or Real Player, it was 2005 after all.

Here is the screen you'd see when you'd want to watch this promotional video. I recognize the leaves used in early flash games such as Lightball Challenge, Dragonfly Race etc.

A page on the website that I found with my decomplier, i couldn't view it normally!

I tried looking for this video in English to no avail, or any version on the internet. It must have only been accessible through this website.

Interestingly, I found this other page whilst doing my page digging thing again and found this, suggesting this was also a Japan exclusive and not for the American market ... and there is more early promotional stuff to be found in relation to Disney Fairies!

I also looked into one the main book artists on the creative team, Judith Holmes Clarke. She had a website I found on her IMDB page, that was live around 2017-2019. I saw this and wanted to add it as it had one of the stills in this video. It also has a sketch of Rosetta and Tink. This is what I found:

It is probably a scan of this magazine, Disney Newsreel, mentioned on her IMDB.

Overall, I'm super happy with this find and I'm so happy to share it with you all!! I will be happy to share more now that I'm publicly outing myself not just as this fan of children's fairy media- an archivist. gasp...

Tales From Pixie Hollow Is Out

Despite some ardent campaigning for these books, Tales from Pixie Hollow is out of the running for best childhood book. But fret not, below are some ways to get into the series and fandom!

For those who don't know, before the Disney movie Tinkerbell came out, they hired Gail Carson Levine, beloved children's author, to write a few books as promotion for the movies. She wrote the Disney Fairies Trilogy which include Tinker Bell but are mostly about Prilla, a Never fairy who doesn't know her talent. When the movies came out, Disney continued in this vein by releasing shorter books known as Tales from Pixie Hollow that followed a single fairy's day-to-day challenges. The characters from the movies, Silvermist, Iridessa, Fawn, Rosetta, and Vidia, all make appearances, but other amazing characters were introduced like Rani, Dulcie, Fira, Bess, and Beck. If you like lighthearted, slice-of-life fiction, beautiful illustrations, and fairies, you should give them a go!

Thanks to @toomanycartoonswithnotenoughlove , I checked out the source and it's a story book not comic, and lot of differences from the movies (Terence looks SO different and Tink keeps tugging at her bangs and is called a pots-and-pans talent fairy)

And I'm skimming through it and there's a lot of stuff going on? That skimming isn't making a lot of sense lol. A fairy died??? And I don't think it's brought up again? Because of wish shenanigans a fairy maybe permanently has a little bit of bat consciousness inside her mind? Tinkerbell has a crush on Peter Pan or at least is jealous? Vidia calls everyone pet names in every sentence?

But anyway, Terrence makes the wish and then almost immediately regrets it. Based on your interpretation, he either regrets it on the same page or 3 pages later.

It still sucks but he's an ok guy even if he made a bad choice once. And he's SUPER smitten by Tink who has no clue. Like ridiculously smitten since the start of the book. It's ridiculous. Or maybe it hits harder coz I'm aro

Pg 164 = They talk about what will happen after the wish is reversed

With love potions being so terrifying, I don't understand how they're treated so non seriously

I do like the love potion when played for angst and guilt or something like that, on the side of the potioner ofc, just desserts in a way if done right

But other than that? They're so scary and dark and creepy even in a cartoonish kids show

Like I found out Terrence used a love spell or a wish on Tinkerbell in the comics, and sometimes the thought of shipping even their sweet movie versions icks me out

A: Film-maker are still unsure, they're undergoing for new scenes and characters to be introduced. Most likely, Peter Pan shouldn't be featured because the Lost Boys won't be in the film.

Plot for The Mythical Island: Tinker Bell ventures to the mainland with friends for the changing of the seasons. Tink's quest was to find a bright silver globe that Queen Clarion lost on the mainland when she last flew there with Lord Milori. On cloudy sunrise, fairies returned to Pixie Hollow, Neverland after they've all delivered Spring as soon as they can. Tink feared that she and her friends won't make it before the storm hits the ocean. Tink says Fawn was delivering a little owl. Meanwhile, she thought they were heading the right way, unfortunately she didn't. She was eager to say she might be following the moon instead, but she blamed that she couldn't see the way because of the clouds. Soon, thunder and rain-clouds began to strike. Suddenly, Tink and her friends swooped into an unknown tornado that glows and made them disappears.
