Vidia did actually smirk a little when Lorcan said people who be happy to hear that he'd renounced his druggie ways. Still though, it felt a little too close to home for him to be rubbing everything in her face like this. With the amount of lying she'd built her career on, going to confession would just be another big batch of lies directly in her parent's faces. "I can handle anything," Vidia bit back, standing her ground if she sensed any sarcasm from Lorcan, "Why don't you come to my parent's dinner party next weekend then? I'm sure Mr. and Mrs. Kane would love to see you again."

"Oh, I'm being the dick?" Bickering, Lorcan had to remind himself, was what they usually came at each other with, but as it was becoming clear, Vidia didn't really do casual arguments without digging in deeper to the sensitive areas. Those areas that were supposed to be off-limits to "friends". But then again, they weren't really friends, were they? Just two people reluctantly close to each other's worst insecurities.

"They'd throw a fuckin' party if I went back, are you kidding? It'd be popping bottles of grape juice if I gave up the secular life and 'came home' to my 'walk in the light'," Lorcan rolled his eyes at the very thought of it. Vidia was right about one thing though - if he did go back, no one would ask about what he'd been doing in the meantime. Not a single soul there would want to know about the details of his gender, his job, his vices. They'd all just cover it up with aggressive guilt and a hundred different prayers telling him to repent, "They'd probably just make you go to confession, I'm sure you can stomach it."

There was an awkwardness to Rose and Vidia that Rose knew was her own fault. She wanted to talk to her and just get everything out in the open because she honestly was wondering if Vidia even knew she had slept around with her ex. She never called him Jim around her friends and she didn't really bring him around them all so in reality, a lot of it was her own fault for not being super duper public with her relationship. On the other hand, she knew Jim knew better. She had mentioned Vidia to him and how many Vidia's did people run into in a town like this? C'mon now. Vidia was one of a kind and everyone who got the chance to know her knew that.

"Thanks for comin' over Vids," Rosetta said as she let her inside. Her first instinct was to check on her many plants since she was nervous, but she wasn't trying to make this such a huge deal. They were grown, it would be fine. "I hope I didn't take away too much from your day or anythin' like that. How have you been?"

Vidia was just out for her morning run, dressed in her most recent releases of athleisure wear. Even though she'd been out of the races for a few years, being an Olympian still came with lots of perks like brand deals and free stuff, as long as she promoted the brand on air. She was clearly in the zone though, and was startled when a shorter woman came up to say something about her clothes.

"No, I'm running," Vidia took one earbud out, jogging in place to keep her heart beat up while talking. Of course she wasn't cold, in fact, she was sweating. It was the perfect temperature to be working out in, "The leggings are Lululemon, the thermal top and bra are Vaara. My affiliate code in Ghatak10." She figured the lady recognized her, since she was kind of a local celebrity.

Although Barbie had been in town for a little while she sorely lacked in the friend department and figured it was about time she went out and started to familiarize herself with her neighbors. There had to be someone, anyone, who was willing to entertain her with good conversation. She couldn't remember the last time she'd spent so much time alone and indoors - in an attempt to lift her spirits she had gifted herself a whole new wardrobe, but even with her new clothes Barbie felt loneliness begin to suffocate her like a thick blanket until she couldn't stand it anymore. She threw on one of her best outfits and took to the streets without a clue of where she might end up. It didn't really matter to her so much where she found herself, she was entirely focused on who she might meet while there.

As she walked she passed a few strangers who hardly bothered to look up as they hurried by so she merely smiled and continued on her aimless journey. Thankfully, she eventually came across someone who looked as though they might not mind sharing a few minutes of their day with her. Never one to shy away from conversation, Barbie's smile grew as she approached them.

"Hi!" She stuffed her hands into the pockets of her coat and excitedly rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet. As was normal for her she scanned the stranger's outfit. "Aren't you freezing? It's a good excuse to layer, I suppose, but that's about all this kind of weather is good for."

There are many perks of having a roommate. For example, you’re no longer alone. Now, when you stay up late, there is someone keeping you company, making you laugh and swapping war stories with you.

Just as there are perks, there are bad things as well. For example, you can hear everything that goes on. Including when Runa gets a phone call in the middle of the night, despite her phone being silent.

“Hello?” Her voice groggy, sleep still coating her throat. She pauses, then clears her throat. “Rin? What are—“ she stops talking, or she’s cut off. You roll over in bed and face her. “Oh, okay, yeah. Yeah, I’ll be there in a minute. Okay, yeah, love you too.”

She glances at you and, even in the dark, she can see your eyes open. “Sorry,” she apologizes in a whisper. “Rin called me. He, um, got arrested. Again.”

You blink a couple times, your tiredness suddenly gone. You sit up at the same time she does. “Again?” You repeat. You watch her slip on her shoes, forgetting about even needing socks. “Are you going to bail him out?”

“Yeah,” she says, standing up and rushing to put a coat on. “I’m sorry I woke you up. I’ll be back in a bit.”

“Um, wait.” She stops, but you can see the urgency in her eyes. “Can I go with you? I don’t mean to be codependent, or whatever, but, um.”

She sighs, pressing the palm of her hand against her forehead, then nods. “Yeah,” she says, nodding. “Yeah, you can come. Just, uh, hurry up. Please.”

Suddenly, all the years of people calling you weird for sleeping in socks are thrown out the window. All you have to do is slip on some shoes. Thanks to the extremely cold AC in your building, you’re already in a hoodie and sweatpants.

The streets are practically empty as Runa drives down them. That’s to be expected, though, since it’s nearly three o’clock in the morning on a Tuesday. She opts out of playing music. Her knuckles are white as they grip the steering wheel. You wonder how many times she’s done this before. 

You’ve never been to a police station. Actually, that’s a lie. You went on a field trip in middle school— the first and last time you’d ever been inside one. You don’t know how bailing someone out works, either, but Runa looks familiar with the process, so you just follow her.

The police station is quiet— unexpectedly so. You spent years of your childhood watching police shows, so you expected it to be a little more rowdy than a homeless man and a sobbing teenage girl. It’s colder than you expected, too. Even though you’re wearing a hoodie, you still have to wrap your arms around yourself.

The woman at the front desk seems familiar with Runa. They talk in hushed voices for a minute or two, and then Runa gestures for you to follow her. You glance back at the desk woman, but she’s typing away at her computer once again, seemingly honed in on whatever.

You follow Runa to what you assume is the back of the station. There are jail cells lined up against the wall, but most of them are empty. You stop at the last one and a quiet gasp leaves your mouth at the sight.

It’s Rin, but he’s hunched over, elbows on his knees, head in his hands. His knuckles are visibly bruised and you think there might be blood staining his shirt. He looks up at the absence of further footsteps. His eyes are red.

“You’re an idiot,” Runa says, crossing her arms over her chest.

His eyes flicker from her to you and you wave. “Hi, Rin.”

“I mean—“ She scoffs. “This is, what, the third time in as many months? Get it together, Rin! Like, what were you thinking? You know how much this costs me?”

“Costs you?” Rin repeats, scoffing as he now stands up. “I pay you back every time, don’t even.”

She clamps her jaw shut, and you know it’s because she’s too angry to speak. She glances back and waves her hand. The next thing you know, Rin is standing next to you and Runa.

You’re quiet, because what else are you supposed to do? Runa and Rin keep glaring at each other and, for a brief moment, you think they’re communicating telepathically. Rin looks at you, a small smirk on his face, and you look away.

This was a bad idea.

When you finally leave, something occurs to you. Where are you supposed to sit now? The front seat or the back seat? Rin is her cousin, but she’s mad at him, so maybe she’ll make him sit in the back? Your feet seem to stutter and you trip a bit, catching yourself before you can hit the ground. Rin and Runa look back, brows furrowed, but you clear your throat and shrug.

And then Runa solves all your problems by getting in the passenger seat. Rin is driving, got it. You get in the backseat and sit behind Rin.

This is ridiculous. The car ride is quiet. You can practically see steam coming off of Runa. Rin is driving with one hand. Your head is swimming. You stare out the window and look at the houses as you pass them.

Rin drives to his house and, before he leaves, he walks over to your side of the car and leans down into the window. “You came with her.”

You shrug, wringing your fingers in your lap. “I’ve never been to a police station before.” It’s an excuse, you know he knows. “And I was bored.”

“You were sleeping,” he hums out. “I think,” he leans closer, now whispering, “you just wanted to see me.”

“What?” Your face heats up, eyes widening a bit. “That’s— I didn’t— Runa was just—“

He laughs and smacks the roof of the car. “I’ll see you guys later, yeah?” He looks at Runa and stops laughing. “I’m sorry, Runie. I’ll pay you back tomorrow.”

“Yeah, whatever.” She rolls her eyes. She puts the car in drive and drives off.

Adam was a hard-headed man, one of the biggest assholes Vidia had dealt with since coming back to town. That was saying something, considering wealthy families like theirs tended to produce hot assholes, and Vidia was no shrinking violet herself. The only reason she made nice with him was to keep her parents happy, which was getting harder and harder now that they were adults, "Has anyone ever told you that you eat like a barn animal?"

it's boredom time, so i thought i'd make the rare personal thoughts on fairies write some propaganda for some of my rarepairs, especially the one i named this blog after lol

iridessa/fira (firadessa)

most people think it's self explained, these two are light fairies

however, these two have similar and yet slightly different personalities (to me at least. if you ever say fira and iridessa are basically the same character, or that fira's character traits are too vague from what we have on her its on sight)

fira is a character that is anxious like iridessa, but its implied at same time she is a bubbly character where iridessa is more mellow, fira can also be mellow sure but has a sunnier vibe

its slightly canon that fira over worries, iridessa also does this but her worries are more logical (fira thought the eclipse made the sun disappear, where dessa worries about things that are possible)

ive shipped this since 2021 when making my own blog (this one) but i think them <3 so you will too

rarepair but NOT a crackship because it makes logical sense as a ship, despite the few interactions they have in canon due to the book characters sometimes not being included in the "main canon" sometimes and not some other times. iridessa was also introduced in the books first, wearing a blue and yellow number similar to firas, and fira and iridessa have been written in books coexisting in universes leaning more book or leaning more movie (maybe) so its not exactly a book/movie ship, but it isnt exactly not a book/movie ship

canon to the book "iridessa and the secret of the never mine" (a book that never released in the us and is buried as a pdf so ill make sure to make it more accessible to everyone) that these two wont stop talking to eachother, to the annoyance of others. they start talking in the mine and they are told to stop and they are like "we'll pick this up at dinner" so precious

hc- iridessa is more likely to get angry that fira

half a hc- fairies have different glows, and i think they sometimes get warmth too- i feel like if iridessa is ever cold (she seems like the type to get cold easily despite the temp outside) she would hover near fira

hc- fira is the only one who can take iridessa's anxiousness

attentive to each others energy levels

elegant in their own way, glittering

but also silly, fun, and dorky

sun/moon sun is fira, moon is iridessa (who is ironically afraid of the dark)

they dont realize their dating until someone teases them for being a couple at dinner at the tearoom

i believe the first time it was that vidia felt sympathy, when they cut off rani's wings. and that she actually has a soft spot for rani, even though she has a superiority complex. vidia was intended to be a "wicked" or bad fairy, so i think her having some faith in others- maybe even a small amount, gives her a lot of complexity. she took pity on rani, even knowing rani could never fly as fast as she did

there is evidence to support her having a soft side and to her getting along with rani, when she snowboards and is greatful for the snow day. the second is in a comic on her with a scavenger hunt, and they actually work together

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ uma das coisas que mais andara irritando vidia era a presença recorrente daqueles curiosos que entravam na floresta apenas para tentar vê-las , estudá-las e até tentar capturá-las . mas a fada dos ventos , dessa vez , tinha um plano . do alto de uma árvore , ela conseguia ver muse no solo esticando e virando o pescoço em busca de algo . de olhos semicerrados ela estava e de olhos semicerrados ela ficou , concentrando o poder no pequeno furacão que rodopiava em seu polegar . ao se dar por satisfeita pela intensidade do furacão , guiou-o na direção de muse , observando-o aumentar de tamanho conforme se aproximava do alvo , até engoli-lo . ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “ oops, foi sem querer ! ”

So, after some consideration, I have decided to create another new Descendants fic! This one, called Fly to Your Heart, will feature OCs who are the children of the Pixie Hollow gang from the Tinkerbell movies, who are originally meant to go to school in Pixie Hollow because it’s far away from the mainland, but wind up coming to Auradon Prep shortly before Ben’s proclamation on an outreach program set up by King Beast because he wants to improve relations with the fairies, along with one daughter of Anna and Kristoff, because I really loved those movies as a kid and I feel like they’re kind of underrated. Anyways, meet the new babies, hope you all love them as much as I do!!

Tiffany Bell, she/her, daughter of Tinkerbell and Terence, Uma ship, Josefine Frida Pettersen FC. A dust talent fairy, taking after her father, but definitely takes after Tink in personality - stubborn and fierce and curious, and would do anything for the people she cares about. Super excited to be able to visit Auradon with her friend group and her cousin and in full support of the VKs coming from the Isle, and is one of the first people to try and befriend the Sea Three when they also arrive. A big fat lesbian who winds up with a sort of insta-crush on Uma, and although it does take them a bit to get together they’re super cute when they do.

Priscilla “Cilla” Frost, she/her, daughter of Periwinkle, Gil ship, Sabrina Carpenter FC. A snowflake talent fairy who’s always been quieter and more withdrawn than her mom, aunt, and cousin, but is willing to go to Auradon with Tiffany because she being with her cousin makes her braver. Pretty shy and awkward and prefers to spend her time perfecting her powers and learning how to make the best snowflakes, but eventually becomes part of Tiffany’s friend group with the other Pixie Hollow kids and some of the other Auradon and villain kids. Becomes Gil’s tutor when the Sea Three first come to Auradon, and eventually falls in love with him through that.

Virgil Swift, he/him, son of Vidia, OC ship, Mark McKenna FC. A fast-flying talent like his mom, and very good at it, but not nearly as arrogant about it as her. However, he still has her intensity and absolute determination to be the best at what he does; he’s just more content to work hard and earn it. Can be a bit singleminded and too intense for some people, but also always ready to apply that to caring for and protecting his friends. First became part of the Pixie Squad through being friends with Freddie as toddlers, and though he doesn’t care much about whether he goes to Auradon or stays in Pixie Hollow he’s content to follow his friends wherever - and is especially glad about his decision when he winds up falling in love with a princess.

Rainbow “Rain” Desrosiers, she/they, daughter of Rosetta, Jane ship, Abigail Cowen FC. A fruit talent fairy with severe social anxiety who prefers to spend most of her time tucked away in a corner of their mother’s garden, tinkering with different ways to grow fruit. Not so much shy as standoffish and a bit off-putting due to her anxiety, and has a bit of a quick temper, but still has a good heart and is intensely loyal to the people they care about. Tends to be a bit awkward when interacting with the whole friend group, and only really agrees to go to Auradon because her brother is going too, but winds up becoming really good friends with Lonnie, Doug, and Jordan, and eventually becomes cool opposites attract partners with a certain fellow awkward fairy.

Ryan Desrosiers, he/him, son of Rosetta, poly Ben/Mal ship, Froy Gutierrez FC. A harvest talent who loves spending time in the fields during harvest season, but is also much more outspoken and a social butterfly than his sibling, taking more after their mom. The main hangout organizer and resident hype man of the Pixie Squad, and absolutely excited for the chance to go to Auradon and meet a bunch of new people, only to promptly get a crush on Mal when the VKs arrive. Kind of sad when she and Ben get together after the coronation, but very happy when he discovers that they both like him and want him to join their relationship. Also forms Auradon Prep’s first agricultural club, and along with Rain manages to teach all the preppy students who join a lot about harvesting and gardening.

Iris Lux, she/her, daughter of Iridessa, Doug ship, Sofia Bryant FC. A star-counting talent who, of course, is very interested in and knowledgeable about astronomy, and as a result is largely nocturnal so she can better practice her duties. The first one to start the Pixie Squad by making friends with Ryan when they were little kids, and though she enjoys living in Pixie Hollow with her mom is happy to follow her friends to Auradon. Never really gets over being sleepy during the day and energetic at night, and ends up having a lot of late-night conversations with Doug, since she gets up to count the stars and he has insomnia, and they fall in love over the course of that. A totally sweet and loyal girl who’s dedicated to her duties and works really hard to improve her talent and be a great friend, but also has a great sense of humour and isn’t afraid to be silly.

Sally Pond, she/her, daughter of Silvermist, OC ship, Lana Condor FC. Turns out to be a baking talent and not any kind of water talent like her mama, and though Silvermist loves her daughter dearly she doesn’t always know how to interact with someone so different from her. Sally is your classic bakercore girl, soft and sweet and with a love for sweets and pretty things, and above all she loves her friends and wants to make them, her mama, and her aunts proud, even if that can sometimes make her a bit of a pushover. Doesn’t love leaving her mama to go to Auradon, but is happy to if that’s what her friends want, and eventually becomes a student teacher in Auradon Prep’s home ec class because she’s the best baker in school, and also eventually falls in love with one of her best friends.

Freddie Animus, they/them, child of Fawn, OC ship (Sally’s partner), Brigette Lundy-Paine FC. An animal talent like their mom and adores conversing and playing with all the animals in Pixie Hollow, but also wants to make new animal friends beyond the ones they already have, so they jump at the chance to go to Auradon with their friends. Has been in love with Sally since they were young teenagers, but doesn’t find the strength to confess until after Maleficent’s attack at the coronation, after which they do become a really cute couple. Sarcastic and quick-witted, has a tendency to maybe not take some things as seriously as they should, but does know to take anything that concerns the people they care about. Develops a bond with Dude and becomes gossip buddies with him before he even gets spelled to be able to talk, and is honestly not super happy that they’re not the only one who can talk to him anymore.

Zane Flyer, he/him, son of Zarina and Captain Hook, Jay ship, Milo Manheim FC. A dust talent fairy who grew up in Pixie Hollow being taught the secrets of Pixie Dust Alchemy by his mom, never being told who his dad was and never really questioning it, given that not a lot of fairies who are born in the regular way rather than from a baby’s laugh have more than one parent sticking around anyway. Very loud and energetic and can be kind of annoying, so he’s not really part of the Pixie Squad but gets invited to attend Auradon Prep anyway. His mother finally tells him the truth, that Captain Hook is his father and he has half-siblings living on the Isle of the Lost, right before he departs for Auradon, and as such he decides to befriend the VKs when they arrive because he wants to try and get answers about his father and siblings, coming to fall in love with Jay and finally kissing him at Cotillon. Also eventually becomes a part of the Pixie Squad, as well as joining the tourney team and becoming unlikely friends with Chad. Incredibly talented in Pixie Dust Alchemy, and not-so-secretly loves showing his skills off.

Astrid Bjorgman, she/her, daughter of Anna and Kristoff, OC ship (Virgil’s girlfriend), Stefanie Scott FC. Crown princess of Arendelle, but secretly planning to abdicate and leave the throne to her cousin, Elsa’s son Edvin, because she’s Ben’s best friend from the time they were in diapers and would rather be the Head of Auradon’s Royal Council. Also inherited her aunt’s powers of ice and snow where her cousin didn’t, and spends a lot of time worrying about them and trying to make sure she can control them because she doesn’t want to cause a horrible storm the way her aunt accidentally did. Very quiet and serious and studious, insanely dedicated to her future job, but also has a lot of anxiety and can often push people away when she gets too in her head. Ben’s most steadfast friend, though, and and incredibly supportive of his proclamation and even ends up becoming good friends with Carlos and Evie, as well as the Pixie Squad when she winds up falling in love with Virgil.

Rosetta did not normally go to places like Wonderland. It wasn’t because she didn’t like fun or a good night out, she just...didn’t like how touchy people were. She wasn’t here for herself though, she was here for Vidia. Her friend had the very lovely habit of threatening to post her ugly crying pictures if she didn’t meet up where she wanted, so there she was, making her way through a bunch of people and hating how their sweat was getting on her and her outfit. It felt like it took ages to get to the bar and when she spotted Vidia she sighed in relief. “Oh thank goodness!” she said, placing a hand to her heart. “Vidia, I am here. I hope we are doin’ somethin’ fun. This place always smells like too much perfume....and not the good kind.”

“so what do you want to do first?” angelica questioned, looking around the festival. “i have a really strong feeling that you are just naturally good at every game that is here. like stupid good. so if that is true, you are so free to win me a prize. i will hug it tight the entire time.” she was not good at these games and tended to get pissed off if she lost too many times. so it was best to not even try. “ferris wheel looks packed, so it’s probably better to go when the sun sets.”
