Hmm I'll see what i can list off the top of my head:

National Treasure - i unironically adore them and will take zero criticism for this

Sahara (2005) and Fools Gold (2008) - who let Matthew McConaughey be good at treasure hunting movies? Bonus points for Sahara's "exasperated best friend who cant believe we're going down this research rabbit hole again (is along for the ride anyway)" and Fools Gold for actually showing archival research (and its a majorly important part of the plot

Does Tintin count? I'm saying it counts. I love Tintin

Indiana Jones is on thin ice because he's actually supposed to be an archaeologist....................... But its kinda fun anyway

The first The Librarian movie is pretty good, but i feel like i never really liked the sequels

Really really niche but I adored it (completely wore out my 2nd hand VideoEzy DVD that i owned of it) The Lil River Rats. I've never found anyone else who knew it existed but I love it

We didn’t have a blockbuster in my town but we had a VideoEzy which then turned into a United Video. I grew up and live in NZ so I’m not sure if these are international companies.

Made this poll because I miss Champagne Video, my favorite video rental place. Your loss would be easier to bear if you hadn't been replaced with a waxing parlor.

So, an interesting storytime I wanna tell.. when places like VideoEzy, Blockbuster ect. were still up and running my parents use to take me and my big sister to rent movie.. we would normally get into arguments of what film we wanna bring home to watch or what game to bring home to play. One movie I ended up getting was Bratz Rock Angelz, so after we got Pizza from Eagle Boys (a discontinued pizza store, rip) and snacks..

My parents help set up the dvd player for me and my sister to watch the film in our room; once it was set up, the tv was on, pizza on a plate on the bedroom floor next to a cup of sprite.. the copyright screen appears and then it went black, and that's when I just hear loud music blaring in my ears and that PSA started playing. And I kid you not, I actually shat myself (not literally lol), like I was terrified.. and before you guys say "Just press skip!" I would but the problem was I couldn't, my sister even tried to skip because she was terrified too, finally it was over but I didn't want to watch rock angelz after that.

also no one asked but personally we never went to videoezy, we went to this independant video store near my house and we were really good friends with the owner because he worked in the shop and we went in at least once a week and it was really cheap and i have really fond memories of it and watching movies and tv shows honestly shaped who i am as a person so much, i never watched kids movies or tv shows my parents always let us watch grown up shit and im happy they did, i was legit watching horror/thrillers when i was like 9, i was so sad when he closed down and i hope he’s happy

Video Ezy Guy

Every time I decide it's time to do something moderately embarassing in my local Video Ezy store, there is always one particular guy working, who I estimate to be about my age. Every time.

My chronology may be a little out here but I digress.

I had been cajoled into watching Game of Thrones by a friend of mine and so head of to my trusty Video Ezy too retrieve the DVD, all the while working up a nervous sweat. I was not 18, would they deny me the psychological trauma of GoT? I nervously hired it out with some Ben and Jerry's. Not to shameful so far. 

During my exam period I went out to lunch with my mother, aunty and cousins near the video ezy. Exam period has somehow become synonymous with life of a hermit. There were so many normal people out there! In order to give my aunty a break from the crying two year lod so the poor woman could eat I took Blake for a walk. Enter Video Ezy. I initially attempt to keep up the sharade of looking at New Releases until i remember if I hold Blake up in the air, he'll giggle. 

Things aren't going horrifically until blake is perched on my hip, content to continuosly drag my shirt down, essentially flashing everyone in sight, including Video Ezy Guy. I awkwardly attempt to stop Blake while trying to make it as obvious as possible that he wasn't mine. This really was only going two ways; incompetent baby sitter or incompetent mother. Hoping for the former. But no, leaving the store was not the end of the story. Coles was my next grand place of entertainment, only to find that VIdeo Ezy guy was restocking as I apologised profusely to a lady who's daughter Blake wanted to stalk.

As a quite hardcore fan of Doctor Who, my mother made my friends and I skirts that were the TARDIS. So come the 50th Anniversary Special, I put on my skirt, red converses, dad's business shirt and boyfriend's tie, ready for the movie. Which, of  course, required Ben and Jerry's. At my trusty video store it would only be the guy working. He politely asked if I needed a bag. Instead of giving a nice and easy "no" I felt compelled to blurt out "No, I have a lunch box." At least I didn't add that it had Disney Princesses on it.

So now my reputation is that of a Game of thrones watching incompetent baby sitter with a Doctor who addiction rivalled only by my Ben and Jerry's addiction. Not too bad, right?

To this day I continue to source my ice cream from the store and its loyal employee, in varying states of distress and dishevelment. I strive not to at least be that one customer who makes a shift kind of entertaining with their idiocy.
