My Outer Wilds Solar System Map Embroidery Pattern is finally done, and up for sale on my ko-fi!
The pattern includes a printable template (which you can use on printable fabric, or copy onto your fabric by hand) plus a 25-page booklet detailing the steps to take for every section of the pattern. I've also included suggestions on how to improve on my initial design!
This is currently up on my ko-fi for $4 USD, and is a digital product (nothing physical will ship; you'll have to supply your own fabric and thread, though I give a list of all the DMC thread colors I used).
Thank you to everyone who reached out over the last two years expressing interest in this project!
PLEASE LOOK AT THIS VIDEO OF ADRIAN BELEW FUCKING AROUND WITH A GUITAR SYNTHESIZER SO HARD THAT IT STARTS TO BECOME SENTIENT AND HE APPEARS MILDLY CONCERNED
learning about old-timey recipes in this LM Institute seminar and fascinated by how vague they were; the examples given don't have bake times, don't have measurements, etc. There are varying reasons for this (one the speaker gave was how flour was not consistently milled and so the amount of flour needed could differ, and so recipes advised on texture instead of measurement) but as underlined by the speaker, it sheds a new light for me on the husband on the LMM story who is asked to bake a cake by his wife and is bewildered on how much vanilla to use
I saw this post by @plebeiangoth recommending learning brioche when "bootlegging" patterns for your own use. If you’re looking at single color brioche, may I also suggest fisherman’s rib? It creates a very similar (identical??) fabric but is worked differently, and different people prefer one or the other. (Tumblr apparently doesn't let you upload your own video into a reblog anymore, so I'm making this a new post)
In fisherman's rib, all purl stitches are purled as normal, and all knit stitches are knit into the row below. Here's what the fabric looks like:
Usually worked with smaller needles than typical. This is US size 4 needles with worsted yarn.
Here's a great article comparing fisherman's rib and brioche.
i think i saw this once and it has stayed with me. a white woman in a shower, humming to herself as she pulls shedded hair off her head and presses it to the shower wall. the camera faces the wall, where the hair now spells out: U R GROSS. she sees it and says “aw!” in disappointment.
please help i think of it literally every time i take a shower
I ordered a signed Astarion print from Neil Newbon and you can send a lil 15 second video right? So I was gonna express how it’s so obvious the level of care the entire team put into the character. But I didn’t realize it was filming already and I was just holding my cat and baby talking to her.
So when I realized I tried to delete it but I hit save and it won’t let me undo it!!!! Super embarrassing but also so funny I’m not even mad. Of course this would happen to me.
It's so funny that, in the Hotel Mario prototype, the "toasters" cutscene has had its audio completely obliterated by a stereo test that isn't even stereo.
