rewatching the paranormal powerpoint party vid and made the mistake of venturing into the comments.

and honestly? what the fuck was up with some of y’all that day?

“imagine how good this could have been if Ryan had actually tried”, “honestly kinda disappointed in his presentation here”, “ryan being himself is more entertaining than him doing a character”, and not to mention all the replies under these stupid ass comments agreeing with them.

like hey? just because you’re so used to the polished details and voiceovers of buzzfeed unsolved doesn’t mean you’re gonna get that every time. newsflash, this is their channel, their videos, their ideas, and RYAN’S presentation.

ryan didn’t try? he fucking helped make the video. he made ghost files (obviously with the help of others.) he made unsolved. ryan doesn't care/doesn’t believe anymore? just because he’s playing a tired/indifferent character in one video doesn’t mean that he’s actually indifferent. and if his presentation made you believe in ghosts less, sorry, maybe work on not being so easily swayed by other people.

if you’re disappointed with his presentation or don’t like the character he’s playing, then don’t comment on the video! click out! don’t watch it! it’s one press of a button! he’s making jokes! that’s what he and shane built a brand on!

and all the people in the comments like “it wouldn’t have made a difference if he did try”. we know, you’re so cool for not believing in ghosts, so cynical and edgy. y’know what shane, the most skeptical skeptic and self-proclaimed nihilist has never done on camera? said this shit about ryan.

if you don’t like the character that ryan is playing, that he’s tired in this video, that his presentation is humorous, then don’t watch the video. if you don’t like that he believes in ghosts, y’know, what he’s built his career on, then don’t watch the fucking videos where he talks about that.

sorry this is so ranty and angry, but the way this fandom treats ryan (and steven too, y’know, the co-creators of color) is honestly so frustrating and disgusting sometimes. coming from a shane fan, (i do believe in ghosts tho, so maybe i have a bias) he isn’t the only co-creator of watcher. not to mention that he’s literally talked about how “he has feeling”, so maybe we shouldn’t be pushing this nihilistic/indifferent shit onto him every video.
