what if my world is becoming you sounds delightful and i am SUCH a fan of all the snippets you’ve posted! however.. do you have any more ideas for the victorian loscar au? bridgerton has made me even more enthusiastic for how their courting will go. and your descriptions of long suffering carlos w his love sick son oscar always amuse me, not to mention george’s over protectiveness and alex torturing him by helping logan 🫶

I absolutely have more ideas for the Victorian Loscar AU. The AU is abo/omegaverse but I am changing some of the rules and stuff.

Courting gifts- they are a big deal. Traditional courting gifts were expected to not be super expensive since it could be interpreted as a bribe. At the beginning of the courtship, the recipient would be sent books, flowers, and sweets. As it got more serious, it would be things geared towards personal interests like hats and hat pins, soap, scarves. The most serious would be jewelry (often bearing family crests or colors), perfume, and most importantly gloves since they cover the scent glands.

Hierarchy- So in this society, the hierarchy from top to bottom is title -> secondary gender -> gender. As a result, secondary gender is what decides if someone can inherit a title. Lia, who is Logan’s younger sister in this AU, is actually the heir after George because she is an Alpha compared to Logan, who is an omega even if he is the eldest son.

Very close knit family. I just want Logan to be loved and happy and supported. Everyone is invested and supportive of Logan and Oscar’s courtship. His family genuinely wants him to find love and not worry about having to marry for title and money.

Oscar is very much ‘I never cared about dating and now I have to date and court and it’s a nightmare” - (this is me)

Carlos is “we paid so much for you to go to school and travel the world and this is the result?”

Lando is “yeah, don’t write that in a letter to Logan. Alex might not care but George will definitely care and I do not need to hear him go on about it.”

One of the biggest things I know I want to include is that Oscar is not good at courting. He’s rich, titled, good looking, but he’s not suitable in the marriage market because he just doesn’t know the correct way to court. For all its speak of finding love in marriage, there were very strict rules on how to go about it and how to communicate and Oscar is very bad at it. He fumbles, messes up but gets up and tries again and again. Carlos is exasperated, George is worried for the future of his child, and Alex admires Oscar’s refusal to give up.

I hope you enjoy these. I tried to give a variety of world building and of the characters. These are subject to change but not likely. If you want more or for me to delve into specifics, feel free to let me know 😊

In the Victorian loscar au, who is Logan most close to? I keep wondering if it's Lia or Alex

It is Lia. She's his younger sister, his confidant, and everything in between. They definitely squabble like all siblings but Lia is always ready to be there for Logan whether it be accompanying him to the hat store or lying to their parents that they absolutely did not let Roscoe out to chase the birds. She also quite rebellious and has no problem existing outside the norm and supporting her brother as he goes into his second social season.

As children, Logan was quite shy and quiet but he was never a target for bullying since Lia was quite protective to a violent degree much to the chagrin of her family. Her crimes include: throwing a chair at a school mate, chasing an Earl's son into a fountain and jumping into said fountain to fight him, telling a kid they were the reason their parent's got divorced and their father cheated on their mother with a shopkeeper because he wanted a "child who wasn't such a disappointment". All of these offenses were met with a grounding but Logan was always there in the middle of the night with a tin full of fruit pastilles.

Of the adults, Logan is definitely closest to Alex. His grandparents and his father are very intense people and it can sometimes be a lot for Logan. Alex, however, is always calm and collected and sometimes a lot more level-headed than the rest of the adults. He just knows the right things to say and when Logan just needs to be tucked in a nest and lulled to sleep.

Please enjoy my ramblings about fabrics and perfumes!

Color: colors of the houses, usually seen on their emblem. These colors follow each character to signal from what family they are from.

Fabric/trim: When I am describing their clothing, it will likely be in the following fabrics unless stated otherwise. Also, provides insight into the social status

Jewelry: Extension of the house colors but also symbolizes power. All the alphas wear lapel pins in the house's stone and metal setting. The omegas have some sort of jewelry in the stone and metal.

Scent: Alphas tend to have stronger, sharper scents while betas have neutral scents (think clean linen; sweet and powdery. Byredo Blanche) and omegas have floral, sweet scents.

Duchy of Mercedes/Earldom of Williams-House of Hamilton

Colors: Blue, Silver, Black

Fabric/trim: Silk, primarily silk taffeta; white lace; garlands of leaves and flower buds; ribbons

Jewelry: Sapphires set in silver

Secondary gender and scent

Lewis Hamilton (Alpha): smells of amber, vanilla, cinnamon and wood. It's warm and strong, the kind of scent you remember for a while and exudes power. Inspired from Grand Soir by Maison Francis Kurkdijan.

Nico Hamilton (Omega): citrus, musky, with a softness from the floral. It smells bright, refreshing, but there is a warmth to it from the musk. Inspired by Petit Matin by Maison Francis Kurkdijan. (The perfume Grand Soir and Petit Matin were released together. Grand Soir to represent the nightlife and Petit Matin representing the gentle morning.)

George Hamilton (Alpha): smells cold and refreshing. Citrus, sea salt and sandalwood. It is reminiscent of a cool mountain stream. Inspired by Silver Mountain Water by Creed and Aqua Universalis by Maison Francis Kurkdijan.

Alex Hamilton (Omega): Floral scent of magnolia, rose, and jasmine with a slight sweetness of apple and peaches tempered by the slight scent of cedarwood. It's youthful without being childish, delicate, sweet, and fresh all at the same time. Inspired by my favorite perfume Love in White for Summer by Creed.

Lia Hamilton (Alpha): Citrus, sea salt, sandalwood, lightened with fruity blackcurrant. It has the citrus-sea salt freshness from her father and the woody warmth from her grandfather but made unique by the sweetness of the blackcurrant. Inspired by Millesime Imperial by Creed.

Logan Hamilton (Omega): Fruity and floral- greengage plum, apple, rose, bergamot, Virginia cedarwood and sandalwood. It is fresh and floral and just exudes romantic, youthful love. Inspired by Acqua Fiorentina by Creed.

Earldom of Mclaren-House of Piastri

Colors: Black, papaya

Fabric/trim: twilled wool, serge, and brocade with leaves and wine

Jewelry: Topaz set in gold

Secondary gender and scent

Oscar Piastri (Alpha): Citrus, icy cold, fresh and herbal. It is a combination of icy, winter air; the sharpness of lemon, and the earthy scent of tea. It is harsh and sharp in the way it is both warm and cold. Inspired by Aqua media by Maison Francis Kurkdijan and Ofresia by Diptyque.

Duchy of Sainz- House of Norris-Sainz

Colors: crimson, maroon, black

Fabric: silk, satin, velvet, crystal beads, tassels

Jewelry: Ruby set in gold

Secondary Gender and scent

Lando Norris-Sainz (Alpha): musky amber with notes of vanilla, coriander and nutmeg. It is warm, spicy, floral and sweet but not overpowering. It settles like a sleeping dragon or the calm before the storm, there is a sharpness beneath calm, sweetness of the vanilla and nutmeg. Gentle Fluidity Gold by Maison Francis Kurkdijan.

Carlos Norris-Sainz (Omega): a deviation from the gentle scents of most omegas. It is strong, woody, spicy and sweet all at the some time. It smells like a fiery demise that you willingly accept because it is that captivating. Inspired by Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdijan.

I had a question about the Victorian!AU

When you say victorian, what time period are you referring to?

Like, is logan wearing a lighter dress with a snatched waist from the time nearing the turn of the century, or is he on a big puffy dress from earlier in the period?

Ahh I’m so glad you’re asking this!

So I am referring to the later time period, specifically the year 1876. Dyes were commonplaces (even if some of them were poisonous), the princess line and bustle were in style, and while the dresses were form-fitting they also allowed for greater movement compare to the crinoline and hoop skirts. Laces, ribbons, ruffles, and frills are also popular at this time and I wanted Logan in all of them. The hats also look absolutely spectacular around this time.

The reason for 1876 is because it is in the middle of the decade. The upper-class looked to France, particularly Paris, for what was the next big thing. French fashion would travel over to England, the nobility would wear it and the market would attempt to copy it. This lets me dip into the fashion at the end of the 1870s early 1880s when it comes to dressing the characters.

Each family and character has an assigned color scheme, fabric/print type, stones and metal, and even the scent they are described with are associated with real world fragrances. (I went to the mall many times to see what fragrances worked with who)- if anyone is interested I will happily talk about this more.

Why are these giving Victorian Loscar going for a walk/promenade?

George is in the background losing his mind because how dare this little upstart ask his baby to go for a walk (chaperoned of course tho George is stalking them not so discretely as well) and then he not only shares an umbrella with Logan but Oscar also pauses to speak to another gentleman!! Logan does not mind that Oscar paused to answer one question, and he likes that Oscar offered to hold the umbrella/parasol because George often does so for Alex. Logan wants a love like his parents!!

Logan dressed in baby blue and ivory lace with a cream hat dotted with roses and a lace parasol. Oscar in a brown suit and vest with a top hat. They're promenading through the park with Alex four steps behind then as a chaperone and George behind Alex muttering angrily the whole time.

Logan's wrists starts to get tired of holding the parasol, so Oscar reaches over and gently takes it from him, slightly making contact with Logan's gloved hand. Strike one. George is gasping in the back anyways as Alex calls him dramatic.

They continue walking with Oscar holding Logan's parasol and shielding him from the sun. According to the rules, they are much too close. Strike two. They're talking about the weather, Oscar's travel, and what beaches they'll be traveling to in July. It just so happens that Oscar and Logan's summer homes are on the same. beach so they will still be able to see each other.

On their walk, Oscar runs into an old friend he hasn't seen in years and strikes up a conversation. As the two catch up, Logan is happily standing there under the parasol that has not budged a single inch.This would be considered rude as promenading with an omega during the courting phase meant a one's attention must be focused solely on the one being courted. Strike three.

George is, of course, furious. There are strict rules of etiquette when it comes to courting and to commit such a faux pas so early in the process was a reason to end the process.

"Alex!" George whispered harshly.

Alex rolled his eyes and turned around. "You hold my parasol all the time when my hands hurt."

"That's different."

Alex raised an eyebrow before seeing the pair starting to walk again and moving to follow them.

"Alex!" George briskly walked to catch up to his spouse.

Logan definitely is a bit anxious due to what happened last season so he is definitely guarded against not only Oscar, but every eligible suitor that comes by. He's the grandson of the most powerful nobleman in Britain, and those asking for his hand are not always of the purest intentions.

I do plan to give them a puppy but not until after marriage. Logan has grown up with Roscoe all his life and once he moves away to get married, I can see him miss having a dog at home. Especially, since the house would be quite lonely the early months of the marriage. Oscar has to continues his duties as a member of the nobility and Logan is left to the management of the house and whatever charity work he wishes to do. I can see Oscar gifting the puppy to ease Logan’s loneliness or Colton and Kyle gifting it as a wedding gift for the two of them to take care of. Kind of like “let’s see if we can take care of this before we try to a baby”.

Yes, Nico and Lewis are both 60, but they look like they have not aged past 40. If you were to ask either of them, they would say love kept them young. If you were to ask me, I would say being wealthy gives you a lot of access to anti-aging products 😆

George is 42 and Alex is 44. George immediately married Alex when he turned 18.

Logan is 19, Oscar is 18 and Lia is 17.

Lando is 41 and Carlos is 44.

The Social Season has Arrived

March 27, 1876

The opening of Parliament is coming soon and with that, the social season will return to London once more. While those of the nobility and gentry have made their way to the illustrious capital since the beginning of March, the mark of the social season has arrived in the black carriages bearing a silver and blue crest. The illustrious Duke of Mercedes and his family have finally arrived to London.

His Grace, Duke Hamilton is always a welcome sight in London and this year is no different with plans to fund repairs of the orphanages damaged in the storm and overseeing the building of a new hospital. The omega mate of the Duke, the Duchess Nico Hamilton née Rosburg, is set to host the first ball of the social season and has already unveiled plans to support multiple charities. The only son and heir to the Duchy of Mercedes, George Hamilton, Earl of Williams, is set to join his father in a variety of business ventures this year – no doubt in preparation for his soon to be role as Duke. Accompanying them will be the youngest child of the household, a newly presented Alpha, and yet to be titled heir, the Lady Lia, to get a taste of the work she will soon inherit.

The omega mate of the Earl of Williams, the common-born Countess Alexander, has his hands full this season with charity events but also the marriage prospects of the family's only omega child. The Honorable Logan Hamilton, the only son and omega to the Earl and his Countess, is still on the marriage market after a regretful first season.

In Victorian loscar world, do you picture omegas growing their hair out to be long or does everyone have short hair like their real life counterparts ?

Also I really enjoyed What if my World was Becoming You a lot!! The last chapter w carlando twisting Oscar's arm to change his perspective was so funny

I'm actually 50/50 on this. A part of me wants to say short hair and they would use extensions/hair pieces during balls and other special events. The length of some Victorian women's hair looked heavy and migraine-inducing. The other part of me wants omegas to have long hair since I think they would look so pretty and love the idea of their alphas helping them brush their hair.

Ah! I'm so glad! I needed a healthy, mature couple to tell Oscar that he needed to get it together and there weren't many available on the grid and the healthiest couple was already given to Logan.

Loscar update schedule

Because of my lack of computer (my Mac fights for its life every time I open more than 3 tabs and my PC is not yet finished) I have been super behind on writing new chapter and answering asks. If you have sent me an ask in the past year and wonder why it isn’t done, it is because writing on my phone is hard and my laptop acts like it’s going to die. I have not forgotten your ask, they will be answered when my PC is up and running.

However, the holiday season is coming and for those who escape to AO3 during family reunions, I will update once a week up until the New Year.
