hi! i just read your victorian loscar fic on ao3 and i love the first chapter!

i know it’s a loscar fic, but i wanted to hear more about galex’s story, like the sort of feels and stuff around it. i’m only asking on tumblr because i know the fic is loscar-centric so it might not go into it but i love galex so much so i’m curious!

Yeah, of course! Asking on Tumblr is perfect, most of my asks on Tumblr are about me expanding on my fics or snippets.

So Alex comes from a merchant family and they do pretty well for themselves but they are clearly not old money. Alex and George meet when George sneaks into town with a couple of his friends (Lando and Charles) when they are 13. George is instantly smitten by Alex who is helping deliver some stuff to a nearby store. Like the helpful, strong alpha he is, he immediately goes to help Alex and introduces himself as “William” and that he is in town visiting his aunt for the summer.

This continues until Alex’s family sends him to school. Schools during this time were mainly for wealthy, young men to network and his family sends him in the hopes he will be able to expland their family business. It is here that Alex learns his best friend, William, is actually George, the son of the Duke who owns the land his family lives on. While upset, Alex gets over it and they soon fall in love as their school year is ending. After graduation, George plans to travel and see the world while Alex needs to go back home to help his family. George wants Alex to join him and doesn’t really understand why Alex can’t, not realizing that growing up privileged and going to a school for privileged kids has completely skewed his world view. This all culminates in a fight where he tells Alex something along the lines of “I guess the people at school were right about us not being equal. Being around someone like you would only hold me back.”

This obviously breaks Alex’s heart and he returns home to his family. While George returns home oscillating between angry and self-righteous and absolutely depressed. Lewis and Nico push and are obviously horrified at what George had said because they did not teach their son to act like that. They then show up at Alex’s place in the middle of the night which freaks Alex out because why is the Duke and his mate at my house at midnight. George realizes that he was dumb and that he loves Alex and cannot live without him and decides to stop being an idiot and apologies. The two slowly rebuild their trust and get married 2 years later.

Alex has quite the difficult pregnancy with Logan and almost dies in the process. This scared George so much, he refused to have children for 3 years and is incredibly gentle with Alex since the pregnancy weakened Alex’s immune system. In the first chapter, everyone is helping with the courting requests since Alex is still recovering from illness which is not traditional at all.

choking with laughter at how brocedes get together in your victorian au. tell me, were they throwing the vases or were the vases just collateral damage in the argument? and how long did it take the staff to like nico after he scared them all?

Only Nico was throwing vases, Lewis doesn’t have it in him to throw anything at Nico. He just spent the time dodging flying vases and trying to calm Nico down.

It took Nico about 2 weeks to earn the staffs favor. They were rightfully terrified and believed that Nico would turn violent towards them but learned that was not the case. Nico treats the staff incredibly well, very much like Lewis, so it was very easy for them to like him.

in your victorian au, what's logan's first impression of oscar? oscar is immediatelyyyy enraptured by logan (as were all of us), but does logan just think oscar is another face at first?

Logan definitely is a bit anxious due to what happened last season so he is definitely guarded against not only Oscar, but every eligible suitor that comes by. He's the grandson of the most powerful nobleman in Britain, and those asking for his hand are not always of the purest intentions.

Logan’s insta post with the puppy is giving Oscar sending him a puppy as a courting gift in the Victorian AU. George losing his mind, Alex thinks it’s cute. I do plan to give them a puppy but not until after marriage. Logan has grown up with Roscoe all his life and once he moves away to get married, I can see him miss having a dog at home. Especially, since the house would be quite lonely the early months of the marriage. Oscar has to continues his duties as a member of the nobility and Logan is left to the management of the house and whatever charity work he wishes to do. I can see Oscar gifting the puppy to ease Logan’s loneliness or Colton and Kyle gifting it as a wedding gift for the two of them to take care of. Kind of like “let’s see if we can take care of this before we try to a baby”.

Yes, Nico and Lewis are both 60, but they look like they have not aged past 40. If you were to ask either of them, they would say love kept them young. If you were to ask me, I would say being wealthy gives you a lot of access to anti-aging products 😆

George is 42 and Alex is 44. George immediately married Alex when he turned 18.

Logan is 19, Oscar is 18 and Lia is 17.

Lando is 41 and Carlos is 44.

wait so in the victorian!loscar fic, everyone in society knows about how logan’s courting ends in disaster, but how many people know that the alpha made a derogatory comment about alex before using the alpha voice? is it just the hamilton family or does the rest of society know about the commoner comment?

So everyone at the party knows about the comment. As for the rest of society, they don’t know it exactly but they can deduce what it was likely about very easily. A commoner marrying into the wealthiest, most prestigious family is something that is always going to be talked about. For some, they see it as love triumphant and others see it as a stain of the reputation of the peerage.

But yeah, while it’s not said out loud, everyone sort of knows what the comment was about.

Oscar is infatuated but he doesn’t really understand the depths of his infatuation. He thinks “wow, this omega is beautiful and beloved by his family and smells like a flower garden. That’s wonderful, good for him.”

In the Victorian au does Oscar know about how poorly the last season went for Logan? Does this affect how he (and everyone else) approaches the courting?

Oscar knows because everyone knows. It’s the talk of every gossip magazine. The grandson of arguably the most powerful nobleman gets mistreated and is back in the marriage market is the kind of thing the gossip rags live for.

Everyone else, yes, because they are going in with the knowledge that everything they do is being examined under a microscope. Any hint that they couple mistreat Logan is taken incredibly seriously.

We’ll have to wait and see how Oscar goes about courting to determine if it’s affected or not 😉

In Victorian loscar world, do you picture omegas growing their hair out to be long or does everyone have short hair like their real life counterparts ?

Also I really enjoyed What if my World was Becoming You a lot!! The last chapter w carlando twisting Oscar's arm to change his perspective was so funny

I'm actually 50/50 on this. A part of me wants to say short hair and they would use extensions/hair pieces during balls and other special events. The length of some Victorian women's hair looked heavy and migraine-inducing. The other part of me wants omegas to have long hair since I think they would look so pretty and love the idea of their alphas helping them brush their hair.

Ah! I'm so glad! I needed a healthy, mature couple to tell Oscar that he needed to get it together and there weren't many available on the grid and the healthiest couple was already given to Logan.

oh god, victorian galex’s story is literally the perfect blend of hurt/comfort, fluff, and the lightest bit of angst as well! would you ever write anything on their backstory? or would you just focus on loscar as the main pairing?

I don’t have anything planned for the backstory so far. I had briefly started on a story on when Logan was born and just how difficult it was for Galex since Alex was on death’s door but it’s not finished.

Right now, I’m focused on finishing the main story. Once I finish, I’ll see if I and readers are still interested in the backstories.

Why are these giving Victorian Loscar going for a walk/promenade?

George is in the background losing his mind because how dare this little upstart ask his baby to go for a walk (chaperoned of course tho George is stalking them not so discretely as well) and then he not only shares an umbrella with Logan but Oscar also pauses to speak to another gentleman!! Logan does not mind that Oscar paused to answer one question, and he likes that Oscar offered to hold the umbrella/parasol because George often does so for Alex. Logan wants a love like his parents!!

Logan dressed in baby blue and ivory lace with a cream hat dotted with roses and a lace parasol. Oscar in a brown suit and vest with a top hat. They're promenading through the park with Alex four steps behind then as a chaperone and George behind Alex muttering angrily the whole time.

Logan's wrists starts to get tired of holding the parasol, so Oscar reaches over and gently takes it from him, slightly making contact with Logan's gloved hand. Strike one. George is gasping in the back anyways as Alex calls him dramatic.

They continue walking with Oscar holding Logan's parasol and shielding him from the sun. According to the rules, they are much too close. Strike two. They're talking about the weather, Oscar's travel, and what beaches they'll be traveling to in July. It just so happens that Oscar and Logan's summer homes are on the same. beach so they will still be able to see each other.

On their walk, Oscar runs into an old friend he hasn't seen in years and strikes up a conversation. As the two catch up, Logan is happily standing there under the parasol that has not budged a single inch.This would be considered rude as promenading with an omega during the courting phase meant a one's attention must be focused solely on the one being courted. Strike three.

George is, of course, furious. There are strict rules of etiquette when it comes to courting and to commit such a faux pas so early in the process was a reason to end the process.

"Alex!" George whispered harshly.

Alex rolled his eyes and turned around. "You hold my parasol all the time when my hands hurt."

"That's different."

Alex raised an eyebrow before seeing the pair starting to walk again and moving to follow them.

"Alex!" George briskly walked to catch up to his spouse.

I absolutely have more ideas for the Victorian Loscar AU. The AU is abo/omegaverse but I am changing some of the rules and stuff.

Courting gifts- they are a big deal. Traditional courting gifts were expected to not be super expensive since it could be interpreted as a bribe. At the beginning of the courtship, the recipient would be sent books, flowers, and sweets. As it got more serious, it would be things geared towards personal interests like hats and hat pins, soap, scarves. The most serious would be jewelry (often bearing family crests or colors), perfume, and most importantly gloves since they cover the scent glands.

Hierarchy- So in this society, the hierarchy from top to bottom is title -> secondary gender -> gender. As a result, secondary gender is what decides if someone can inherit a title. Lia, who is Logan’s younger sister in this AU, is actually the heir after George because she is an Alpha compared to Logan, who is an omega even if he is the eldest son.

Very close knit family. I just want Logan to be loved and happy and supported. Everyone is invested and supportive of Logan and Oscar’s courtship. His family genuinely wants him to find love and not worry about having to marry for title and money.

Oscar is very much ‘I never cared about dating and now I have to date and court and it’s a nightmare” - (this is me)

Carlos is “we paid so much for you to go to school and travel the world and this is the result?”

Lando is “yeah, don’t write that in a letter to Logan. Alex might not care but George will definitely care and I do not need to hear him go on about it.”

One of the biggest things I know I want to include is that Oscar is not good at courting. He’s rich, titled, good looking, but he’s not suitable in the marriage market because he just doesn’t know the correct way to court. For all its speak of finding love in marriage, there were very strict rules on how to go about it and how to communicate and Oscar is very bad at it. He fumbles, messes up but gets up and tries again and again. Carlos is exasperated, George is worried for the future of his child, and Alex admires Oscar’s refusal to give up.

In the Victorian loscar au, who is Logan most close to? I keep wondering if it's Lia or Alex

It is Lia. She's his younger sister, his confidant, and everything in between. They definitely squabble like all siblings but Lia is always ready to be there for Logan whether it be accompanying him to the hat store or lying to their parents that they absolutely did not let Roscoe out to chase the birds. She also quite rebellious and has no problem existing outside the norm and supporting her brother as he goes into his second social season.

As children, Logan was quite shy and quiet but he was never a target for bullying since Lia was quite protective to a violent degree much to the chagrin of her family. Her crimes include: throwing a chair at a school mate, chasing an Earl's son into a fountain and jumping into said fountain to fight him, telling a kid they were the reason their parent's got divorced and their father cheated on their mother with a shopkeeper because he wanted a "child who wasn't such a disappointment". All of these offenses were met with a grounding but Logan was always there in the middle of the night with a tin full of fruit pastilles.

Of the adults, Logan is definitely closest to Alex. His grandparents and his father are very intense people and it can sometimes be a lot for Logan. Alex, however, is always calm and collected and sometimes a lot more level-headed than the rest of the adults. He just knows the right things to say and when Logan just needs to be tucked in a nest and lulled to sleep.
