Week 9 Film.
The movie I picked for this week is Scarface Because it’s a good movie that I have not watched but just really enjoy how this movie was and is a classic movie to watch. I just love how this movie is and just want to keep watching it just because it's a classic movie that people like and enjoy so much. They are so good when you are just relaxing in your house and watching the best movie in the world. You can watch this movie on Amazon Prime for 3.99 but it's very worth purchasing because it has lots of violence but It's just so amazing how they made this movie such a success. This movie is so good and I just love the movie and just want to keep watching the movie and just love how this movie is so good.
Here you can find the information about this movie and it makes me want to keep watching this movie so I can get a better view of what the author is trying to illurstate so we get a good vibe of this film and it is one of the best movies made. Well in the year of 1983 something historical happened which was when the USA and Russia arrived in Europe and made tensions high for the cold war. Another historical event that happened was the tropical storm called El Nino stormed the USA in 1983 and took place in California and was the biggest storm that happened during this time and that is a disater. In the year 1983 another historical event happened that ASH Wensday took place in South Ausrtila and Victoria because at that time they killed around 75 people and in Lebanon thier were 63 people killed and what caused this was a plane crash that happend at this time. 1985. There was a deadliest plane crash, which was called Japan airlines and basically a total of 250 passengers died at that time. It was August 12, 1985 when they discovered that the plane crashed heading to Ghana. Furnished person that died in 1983 was Harry James. The reason for his death was because of a kidney failure that led to his death. Well, some big news for American history was that Disney Channel debuted in 1983. Another historical event was that the US bombed Beriut and killed 63 people at the time. You're 1983 all the Mario games debuted in the US and became famous during that time of year. Famous Person who was born in 1983 was Andrew Garfield and is a very important celebrity till this day in the US. She is a British actor but spent most of our time in LA.
The movie I picked was Beverly Hills cop which took place in 1984, which I have never watched but since I watched it this week I could say this movie is pretty interesting and just love how it has so much action. Actor that plays in this movie is Eddie Murphy. I really love Eddie Murphy's movies. They are just so funny and I just really enjoy watching movies about him. My favorite is Norbit because that movie is just so funny and he plays the role of Norbit and he has his wife named Raspuia. I just enjoy the movie so much and Eddie Murphy is just one of my favorite actors of all time. If you tell me to pick Norbit or Beverly Hills cops I will tell you Norbit because I will say it's more like more of a connection than I have with that movie. I watched that when I was 12 years old so I just love that movie. Seen that I like about Norbit is when he meets his wife's brothers and they want to start like a Cantina but then they want Norbit to sign for them so she could get money with his name and just have a property of theirs, but then Norbit childhood friend comes in and just starts hanging out with Norbit and his wife just gets jealous and think is cheating on her but it's her childhood friend. The year 1984 the US Olympic team made the Olympics and just makes the best out of their time at the Olympics One up to 84 old metals, which is very cool during that time of year. For the ratings of this movie, Being a 7.4Out of 10 that is not pretty bad but just from seeing the ratings it told me the movie could be good or it could be bad but since I watched it already for this, it tells me that the movie could be better but I mean the 1984 so people could have high expectations due to this historical film that was made in the 1984. But many people could've just not liked the movie in general because I don't really know people now are very strict and have high expectations into putting money into a film that could be given to them. Good results but at the same time it could not but it just just depends on the Author and He is trying to illustrate so this movie could be success and so people know what the movie is about but watching the trailer it gives me good vibes has lots of action cop interaction and just really love this movie so much. This movie is a success for 1984 with Eddie Murphy being the lead actor. It just tells you this movie is going to be good. He is one of my favorite actors of all time. The movie Beverly Hills cops you can watch it on Netflix with your subscription. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086960/

El Hotel De Los Secretos Ep. 7 Reaction
@seismologically-silly
I was wrong about Belén not reacting, she wasn’t reacting because she wasn’t there! I appear to have maybe misjudged her again, I just don’t know. I believe she cares about him but that’s about all I believe. Something about her is making me distrustful.
Ángela confronts Teresa about of all the servants that could’ve been framed, why her son? Teresa tries to pass blame and responsibility onto her and Andrés. Andrés is just a servant who just so happens to be Ángela’s son, it’s her responsibility as his mother to take care of it, not hers.
Ángela is NOT having it and reveals that she knows Sofia ISN’T Teresa’s daughter and that the circumstances would cause scandal if she revealed them. Ángela tells Teresa to choose which of her children to protect, Felipe or Sofia.
Alfredo’s mother is here and she is EXTRA (I love her). They are nervously continuing the rouse that Sofia is still four months pregnant. Ángela is making sure the staff knows that Mrs. Vergara is a high priority visitor.
Belén is annoyed at how stone cold Ángela seems despite the Andrés situation, and generally jabs at her dictatorial leadership style. As an IMMEDIATE counterpoint to all that smack talking. Ángela b-lines it to her office, closes the door and curtains, and cries. Poor thing, motherhood appears to be a running theme this episode.
Oooooo Alfredo just told his mom that Sofia almost lost the baby because of the accident and that’s why she must be acting so cagily. Luisa (Alfredo’s mom) appears to be conspiring with the woman in pink that she came with about Something.
Julio tries to persuade Natalia to tell the truth about what really happened with the knife, but Natalia is scared of Ángela. She and Julio share an intense look while Natalia skitters away.
Julio confronts Ángela, he wants to act but she wants to wait. Julio is very angry and pisses Ángela off by calling how much she cares about her son and what’s going on into question. Ángela warns that the Alacróns are VERY powerful people. If they ever wanna see Andrés again they have to work smart, not hard. Julio reluctantly agrees.
Ooh new plot development, Jacinto (the gardener boy) has taken an interest in Violeta (that poor abused pregnant girl from the cantina). Wonder how that’ll pan out 👀. He’s clearly upset by watching her mother abuse her, and even more unsettled by the shopkeepers gossiping about her and her parents.
Sofia is continuing to flip out, terrified Luisa or Alfredo will find out she’s not pregnant anymore and Teresa demands she suffers in silence. Something else is wrong, she’s still in physical pain, even after the accident, she’s keeping it herself for now.
Now she’s trying to get Alfredo to stay and sleep with her (I’m sure part of it is cuz she loves him but maybe she’s looking to get pregnant again so the baby just seems late?) they are interrupted by another mysterious spike of pain. I bet that doctor is gonna have to get involved again 👀
OH SHIT Luisa is having a little talk with the doctor that tended to Sofia after the accident. However, he’s gets uncomfortable and cagey around the questions he’s being asked (because he’s afraid of Teresa). He leaves and she and the lady in pink continue to conspire.
Victoria (pink lady) is schmoozing Pasquale now okokok. She got Pascual (I've been spelling his name wrong OOPS) to leave and us now checking the desk book for something. OOOH I wonder if Luisa and Victoria are looking into the shadiness with Cristina and the mysterious demise of Sir Alacrón? That would spice things up fr fr.
Isabel confronts her brother about Andrés, she tries to convince him to do pretty much anything else and tries to field whether he regrets doing what he did. He clearly doesn’t and gets all classist and awful. She tells him he’s a horrible person (she’s right) and leaves him in the bath with his clothes on and his stupid wine.
Diego is worried Isabel is getting too close to the truth. Teresa blames Diego for this, listing all the evidence that’s been found as his fault and responsibility and calls him out for taking money from the hotel (I think?) and dismisses him. Fractures are beginning to form between our two main antagonists ohhhhhh BOY.
Julio is absolutely inconsolably polishing silverware because he’s missing his emotional-support-Andrés. Isabel finds him and tells him what she knows from talking to Felipe. Julio still very much wants to do something, he’s angry at Diego, at Felipe, at everyone. She reminds him if he acts now they may never find out what happened to Cristina. It doesn’t stop him.
OOH VICTORIA TOOK A PAGE FROM PASQUALE’S RECORD BOOK! Oh! And Luisa has apparently invited the doctor to her hotel room where they can speak privately. I guess Teresa didn’t scare him quite that badly after all then.
Shit nevermind he got caught by her almost immediately. She threatens him more and gets the record book page back (Victoria probably gave it to him). More polite threats and and demands, she expels him out of the hotel. Luisa is now even more suspicious of the situation than ever before.
!!! Bowler hat guy is frantically searching Andrés and Julio’s room for something. Julio enters, staring forlorn at Andrés’s bed (I’m so normal about this you guys I’m sooooooooo normal) meanwhile cliffhanger is pretty sharp 🔪 wouldn’t you say?

Quote
¡No te rajes, manito! Saca tus pencas, afila tus cuchillos, niégate, no hables, no compadezcas, no mires. Tus héroes no regresarán a ayudarte. Tuna incandescente. Águila sin alas. Serpiente de estrellas. Aquí nos tocó. Qué le vamos a hacer. En la región más transparente del aire.

Victoria Jones Hendricks ~aesthetics
To know more about her:

Drabble Challenge: Call Me Señorita
@it-is-bugs gave us the topic “with a song in my heart.” This is inspired by this song: https://youtu.be/OgiJhMTGDkQ
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
It was hot. Hotter than Lucien could remember, even back home, and made the worse for being near midnight. A breeze off the water only added moisture and did nothing to alleviate the heat. Lucien wondered how he had got into this mess. It was supposed to be a simple liaison mission to the States. He would meet with American and English colleagues to exchange information and plan a training mission. Now he was stuck in Mexico, trying to wade through a morass of stolen gems, gun smuggling, and cash headed further south to fund a revolution in South America. Months after he should have gone back to Hong Kong he found himself in a dilapidated fishing village, waiting for a contact that seemed determined not to show.
The town, if you could call it that, was a small collection of tin and plywood buildings. A small collection of wooden boats, seemingly held together by the tears of the Virgin Mary the locals painted on every wall bobbed with the tide while moored to tires or hunks of cement along a dirty beach. There was one hotel, of sorts, a few rooms above the only shop. The only other store in town was the local cantina where Lucien was waiting. Lucien looked out from the crooked patio out onto the Pacific Ocean and wondered if he squinted hard enough if he could see Australia. All he could make put were the lights of a steamer in the distance. For the first time, in a long time, Lucien wanted to go home. It was a strange sensation, he wasn't even sure where home was anymore.
The cantina was no more than a rickety wooden shed with three walls and a crumbling thatched roof. Most of the town was there, at least what was left of them. The waitresses were either far too old to be working or too young to be out of school. Any woman young enough to work in the city or marry left town as soon as she could. The same went for the young men, except for the few that could make a living on boats off a dwindling catch. The smell of fish and sweat and stale beer was nearly overwhelming. Two old men with weathered faces sat in a corner with guitars and sang for the crowd. Lucien couldn’t understand most of what they said but he didn't need to. They were sad songs, songs of loss, songs of pain. Lucien thought it takes one to know one. The proprietor was a short fat man with a thick black mustache and thinning hair. Lucien thought he looked like a man out of those American western adventures - perhaps a bandito or a mission priest. He came over to take Lucien’s order.
“Whiskey.”
The man stared at Lucien for a moment in confusion before disappearing behind the bar and coming back with a small glass and setting it down roughly in front of him. Lucien knocked the whole thing back and nearly spit it out.
“Bloody hell. Oi!”
Lucien waved the attention of the proprietor.
“What is this?”
Lucien pointed at the glass when the man didn’t respond.
“¿Que es?”
“Tequila.”
Lucien slumped down in dismay. Unconcerned, the proprietor handed him another. Lucien sighed.
“Tequila it is.”
Lucien downed the next drink and winced in disgust. His time was being wasted. The locals were getting rowdy as the night wore on. Some getting into shoving matches, others slumped against a woman near the music in an approximation of dancing. Things were only going to get worse from here and Lucien stuck out like a sore thumb. It was time to move on. The thought of his hotel room, cramped in the heat and stinking of the tamales that were steamed all day in the shop below did not appeal to him, but at least he could be alone to decide his next move.
Across the room something caught his eye. A woman was briskly bussing tables. She was wearing the same traditional ruffled red and white skirt as the other waitresses but she could not have been more different. Most of the local girls walked around with their eyes to the ground, beaten down by life at an early age. This woman, tall with auburn curls, walked gracefully with her head held high. She could not stand out more yet she moved among the patrons largely ignored. Lucien wondered if he were seeing an apparition.
The proprietor must have caught him staring and bellowed “Juanita!” while gesturing for the woman to see to Lucien. He handed her another shot of tequila on the way over to Lucien’s table. The woman placed the drink in front of him, but not before taking a sip for herself and sitting down across from Lucien, smiling benignly. Lucien downed his drink quickly to avoid having to actually taste it. He wondered briefly why the proprietor was suddenly so generous with his staff’s time but he didn't care. He just gazed at the vision before him.
The singers struck up a livelier tune and several couples streamed onto the dance floor, or what little there was of it. Suddenly Lucien was on his feet. Maybe it was the tequila or maybe it was because he had nothing to lose, but he was not going to let this one chance to dance with a pretty girl pass him by. Suddenly he felt at a loss and cursed his superiors for sending an agent to Mexico who spoke six Asian languages plus French, but no Spanish.
“Ballo with me? Bailar me? Oh bugger this. Dance with me, señorita? ¿Por favor?”
To her shock the woman graciously accepted his hand and led him out onto the dance floor. She casually folded himself into his arms and if it were anywhere else but here on this night, Lucien would have considered them alarmingly close for strangers.
“Actually it’s señora. Señora Jean Beazley.”
Lucien was stunned. Not only did she speak English but it was his English. He would recognize that accent anywhere.
“Bloody hell. You sound like you’re from my neck of the woods.”
“Ballarat, Australia. It’s in Victoria.”
“I know that. It’s where I was born! Though I haven’t been back in a long while.”
“Neither have I. What a coincidence.”
“I am supposed to meet someone here tonight señorita...um, señora. I don’t suppose that’s you, is it?”
“Not me, I just work here.”
“How on earth did you wind up so far from home?”
“Well I lived on a farm in Ballarat. I lost my husband during the war. I had always wanted to see the world, so when my boys were grown I decided to make a go of it. I made it pretty far but eventually I ran out of money, so I found work here.”
“So you’re saving up money to go back to Australia?”
“Not really. I meant to. Rodrigo, he’s the owner, lets me stay in a room out back for next to nothing. But the longer I stayed, the more I seemed to my lose myself. Eventually I stopped thinking about it.”
Lucien looked around at the night pressing in on a town that the world seemed to have left behind.
“Yes, I could see how that might happen.”
The music slowed again to another forlorn love song. Jean lay her head gently on Lucien’s chest. Suddenly he felt dizzy. He did not know if it was from the heat, or the drink, or the heady sense of want that was rapidly filling his body and pushing out all common sense. Jean sighed in his arms.
“It is nice to meet someone from home though.”
“Jean?”
“Mmm?”
“Are you sure you are not here to meet me?”
Jean looked into his eyes, still swaying with the music.
“I’m not so sure anymore. You haven’t told me what you are doing here.”
“Señora that’s a very long story. Lets go someplace quiet and I’ll tell you all about it.”
Jean nodded in agreement. Lucien took Jean’s hand and lead her out of the cantina. On the way out he snatched a bottle of tequila off a nearby table. The sound of incomprehensible curses eventually receded as they headed down the beach and into the darkness.

Autrui
Lunes. Sigue la persecución sistemática de ese desconocido. Creo que se llama Autrui. No sé cuándo empezó a encarcelarme.

Yásnaya Elena A. Gil

Hoy, a mis 33, tengo templanza.
Manolo Mugica

How does the body get to where the world
has told it not to travel?
I’m asking you.
Our choices, in the end, are few.
I love this man whose body said
it did not wantto go.
And I loved you,
who went.
Love, not loved, my friend;
forgive me.
We know not what
we do,
as awed before the green corn gleaming in the field
as with a foot into the mine.
We go, we go, we go,
Nina.
We gleam

Portland, OR -- Last year, Black Belt Eagle Scout released her new album At the Party With My Brown Friends via Saddle Creek. If you haven’t given the record a spin yet, today is the day to do it! Yesterday, she released the music video for one of the album’s songs “I Said I Wouldn’t Write This Song.” The track is an excellent encapsulation of Black Belt Eagle Scout’s blend of shredding indie rock and gorgeous songwriting and lyrics.
The music video is directed and edited by Chantal Jung (Inujuk Nunatsiavutimi) and is meant to raise awareness about the Alaskan coastline. The animated video shows the intimate relationship Indigenous people and and animals have with the coastline.
