Skizz had been nervous for the OlympZITS. He'd be meeting a lot of hermits for the first time - it's reasonable to be worried about how he'll get along with them!

It turns out the answer is very very well.

OlympZITS has always been more about putting on a show than really doing well. They all know Impulse is just gonna end up winning again again. And, man, did they put on a show. He had so much fun!

If this was how working with the hermits feels, he's so excited for the season to start.

It's after the event, as the hermits are chilling out, that he finds himself chatting to Doc and Beef. A few drinks may have been had - just a buzz - and the topic of the new season comes up. The usual chitchat, what ideas they have, where do they think they'll be. They even touch on any stories they want to tell through the season, plus Skizz learns a bit about previous seasons too.

They don't realise how late it is until things are closing up. Doc pats Skizz's shoulder with a rumbling, "I think we're going to enjoy getting to know you better, man."

Beef agrees enthusiastically.

Skizz agrees too, because internally? He doesn't think he'll be able to get Doc's voice saying that out of his head for weeks.

what if gaster in a future chapter calls out the audience for speculating so much about him. the guy canonically has some amount of access to Real Life Social Media. like i started this mostly as a joke but there are definitely some real metanarrative opportunities for a character with recklessly curious impulses, and possibly a fragile sense of self, having nearly limitless access to streams of debate over whether or not he’s a bastard. rude to talk about someone who’s listening etc
