You mentioned potentially redesigning characters as Compleated in a post a while back, and if you’re still interested in that, I’d *love* to see how you’d go about compleating Teferi! There’s a lot of potential there I feel like
Sorry for the (checks calendar) two month delay, but I wanted to give this some thought
I kind of went a bit overboard with this, cuz I wanted to explore a few different ideas
I added some notes, I hope they’re legible (side note but I found some old art of mine and apparently my handwriting has not improved since i was about 10 years old)
Also I felt like doing something shapey so I did a very straightforward (by which I mean barely changed) porcelain host design. I think the gold inlaid in the porcelain looks pretty good, as well as being a bit of a hint at his true autonomy (gold hued metals being much more associated with mirrans and the resistance than any new phyrexian faction, from what I can tell)
I think a design combining porcelain and chrome would be cool, but alas, is spent a lot of time on this already, so that might come later
Anyways—thank you for this suggestion, I ended up having a lot of fun with it, and I might have to draw more teferi art now, because I adore his visual design.
#teferis got one of those designs that’s just easy to understand#like#it’s a nice and complex design#but even from limited angles it’s pretty easy to tell what’s going on#okay I’m done#mtg#teferi#compleated planeswalker#asks#my art

any tips for beginning artists? :Y
I've gotten this question a couple of times before and it honestly never gets any easier to answer. Art and being and artist is a very board spectrum, so any tip that I give might not apply to everyone. Are you a traditional artist? A digital artist? Do you want to do realism? A more manga and anime approach? Do you prefer doing landscapes, or do you want to draw people? Questions upon questions that might give you a better answer you're looking for. Of course when you're starting out as an artist you never know where you might end up or what kinda artist you will be! I started out doing exclusively traditional art in a more anime-like style and that evolved in a shapey and cartoony art style.
So to be honest, the best advice I can give is just try out the things you're most interested in! No one starts out a master, but the important thing is that you shouldn't give up. Being an artist can and WILL be frustrating. That is unfortunately part of the experience. But being an artist is also wonderful because you get to connect with so many people through your work. Don't be afraid and just pick up a pencil, or whatever tool you prefer and give it a shot. Being passionate about a certain thing and drawing that is what makes art fun!

Ah fuck I've done it again
Amalgam AI AU
I've seen some AUs about the humans being AI instead of Caine and I thought that might be the simplest way to get this monstrosity to happen with a massive glitch without abstraction playing a part.
I think I just really like horror AUs and doing stuff like that is just so fun so I made another one with a better title than "Horror House" cuz c'mon what the hell does that mean lol
The only characters I don't have designed currently are Zooble, Caine, and Bubble but I'll add them soon. Caine will be a human, Bubble could be something to help him out and what not.
Inspired by AUs like Sm-baby's and The Horror Circus AU, but like, different ofc.
Think this: the game wasn't originally supposed to be a horror game, just a game you go through for fun. Like Undertale, I guess? But not quite
[WARNINGS: LOTS OF EYES/ARACHNID IMAGERY, BODY HORROR, EYESTRAIN]
So first and foremost, I think people would wanna see Pomni, though Jax was the first to be designed.
Pomni is supposed to be some sort of anti-virus or some sort of protecting thing. Supposed to fix bugs and glitches and prevent viruses from getting into the game. Like a firewall, I guess? I tried to make her look like "right/wrong" esc thing. She was the last to be designed and it was like 1 am when I designed her. I had no clue what to do with her, I'll be completely honest.
Story wise, she'd be trying to find a way to undo this massive glitch and get the game back to normal before she can even rest. Once Caine pops up to try and fix the game from inside, as a dev himself, she does her best to protect him and help him fix the game.
No there is no shipping in this AU, they're just helping each other basically survive. They might become friends over time but nothing more. :V
Next up: Ragatha and Gangle! I actually really like Gangle's design but Ragatha definitely needs a few tweaks I think.
Ragatha, before this massive glitch, would have been an NPC that would help a player out at the start but end up getting lost after a certain point, like a tutorial. She was the most caring character in the game before everything went down.
Gangle used to be someone who ran a little theatre thing in the game, as I've seen from other AUs and took inspiration from, but she's usually nice no matter what mask she has on. More arms means she can help more people at once, right? Game mechanics wise she was like a little shop keeper for costumes if they're needed and she can help with newer mechanics on stage if something new is added. Friendly NPC, you know? Love her design, too!
Now for the first two to be designed, Jax and Kinger!!
So Jax was like a reoccurring villain, I guess. Always trying to make the player quit the game or just scare the shit out of them, despite him not being very scary himself. He's more played off to be a joke character, if I'm honest, always failing with his antics and what not. It's part of the code! I actually like his design, small lil paws and just so shapey over all.
Kinger was like a final boss, I guess? The scariest of all of them at that time. He was a king, ruling over his pawns and such, all of which were also bug themed! I love making Kinger bug related it's so fun. He's a big softie in reality but hits like a train if you ever went against him. He had terrible vision despite all of his eyes and was very slow despite the amount of legs.
Now for what everyone has been waiting for.
The reason for the AU title.
The MASSIVE glitch that caused everything to go downhill.
The Amalgam.
I still think it needs a few tweaks here and there but this is one of four concepts I've had for it.
One time all four of these characters were together, which was relatively rare but possible, a glitch happened in the game. Pomni doesn't know where it started from and none of the game devs understand how it happened, but it did. Some devs think there's a hacker. A massive glitch pulled those four characters together into one terrifying being, always hostile and destructive. All the code of the characters were merged into this thing and somewhat scrambled. The game has now been broken to where once you're in, you can't escape until it's fixed, yet no one knows it, which is why Caine went in.
So much has happened and it's still being fixed, but a hostile blob of characters constantly attacking whenever it's near? It will be hard to fix.
It seems to be guarding something.
Concepts for the amalgam:
You can see in the first one I was going to put Zooble there but I still need a good design for Zooble. Let's see what they'll be.
#the amazing digital circus#tadc#tadc caine#tadc kinger#tadc pomni#tadc jax#tadc ragatha#tadc gangle#tadc zooble#tadc au#amalgam ai tadc au#aatadc au#tw body horror#tw spiders#tw eyestrain#tw eye horror#don't tag as ship

ok so i revisited my spidersona design and gave it a bit of a redo (first iteration here)
more info under the cut!
i felt like in the first version they looked too much like a child because of the style, so i decided to try a more ✨ shapey ✨ one
here’s the gist of the backstory:
spidergoose was bitten by a goose that was bitten by a radioactive spider. so they have all the spidey powers as well as the ability to communicate with geese and essentially command them to attack someone lol imagine going to central park and you see a horde of geese suddenly taking off and you're like "ah yes, spidergoose is calling" xD (i had to google if there are geese in central park for this one and yes there are! and there’s also resident canada geese there? that’s marvellous, my fave kind)
spidergoose is low-key obsessed with the spot, following him around and encouraging him in his monologuing
they're a bit of an anti-hero, being selective with what kinda vigilante work they do and when. the police don’t see them as an ally at all, even less so than the real spiderman (spidergoose is from miles’ universe btw, so e-1610)
teaming up with (miles’) spiderman is rare but it has happened; mainly because spidergoose was nearby when the fight took place and had nothing better to do anyways. they have pretty fun banter.
age and real identity are unknown. they use a voice modifier under the mask which makes them sound a little distorted (think storm trooper helmet voice, but not quite as deep)
they’re unaware of the whole canon event and spider society stuff. spidergoose lies somewhere between chaotic neutral and chaotic evil, so miguel definitely doesn’t want them around; he’s already got too much on his plate lol he does keep tabs on spidergoose tho, sending in some of his spiderpeeps to check in on them from time to time
i’m gonna go ahead and establish that star wars exists in this universe, just so i can say that spidergoose likes appearing behind people and go “hello there”, and is very disappointed when someone doesn’t get the reference
but ofc their tagline still is "noot noot motherfluffer" before round-house kicking someone in the head c:
often spidergoose can be found chilling on some building talking to geese and birds, having a preference for the aquatic ones though. if they find you feeding bread to the birds, they will scold you and give you seeds and peas instead, as bread isn’t healthy for the birds and water
(i’ll keep adding stuff to this as i come up with it lol)
#as always let me know what you think and feel free to draw them!#goose honks#goose scribbles#spidergoose#spidersona

HELLO i’ve been a huge fan of ur artworks ever since 2021/ur pjsk works which i still really adore, i really love how shapey u draw & i was wondering if u have any tips or if u have any inspirations for being able to draw such fluidity within ur works ? if that makes sense !!! idk but mainly just wanted to say i really love all of ur art so much 💝💝💝
to preface this may not be very specific but i hope you can still derive some level of perspective of how i go about things i guess maybe it partly comes down to trying to be loose with it...? if i'm sketching with the intention of making it a full drawing then those sketches are usually rough and very messy. you can always make changes later, trust the process and whatnot, but once u have that energy that's something u can keep working off of.. like for a few things i drew back then i just immediately went into the colors without a sketch and that's still something that i do sometimes. and also i abuse the selection/transform tool like crazy HAHAH. i just move & redraw & stretch things until they look interesting. if you can be loose and have fun with it that's the key 2 unlocking your brain, which is what i am still forever trying to do. oh and curved lines r life...
in terms of inspirations for fluidity in particular there's a number of them but i think yuji uekawa's sonic art (particularly from the 90s-00s) and similar such works are the probably the most significant to mention. endless love in my <3 for this sort of stuff:
i draw sonic so much more than i post whoops but he just has a natural dynamism inherent to his design so i'd say most of the energy you might be getting from my stuff is what i picked up from drawing him a hundred times and then that maybe rubbing off on whatever else i draw or me trying to channel him LOL.
& of course thank you soooo much for your kind words ^_^. it means a lot! i don't know if any of this is helpful at all so if you wanna ask further feel free... but thank you again for enjoying my stuff for so long, it's truly truly very appreciated

Hi! Sorry for all the notification spamming, I just really really adore your art & the way you draw characters. It's so cool how recognizable all the characters you draw are, like their features/proportions/style idk its amazing. Do you have any tips for how to make a character consistently recognizable in drawings? Also, methinks Tim as Stray would be so much fun in a TimKon relationship, would you maybe pretty please consider doodling a bit of what you think that would look like?
Your brain is galaxy sized, your art is fantastic, and I hope you have a wonderful day<3
Ty! I’m just going to answer your first question, even though you asked forever ago 😭 I’ve drawn stray Tim before but we’ll see if I’m up for drawing it again
Anyways, as for making characters consistently recognizable, I think it helps to make character sheets.
Using my ocs for example, when I redesigned Rolin in my new style, I knew I wanted to have a very Shapey look, so I’d write notes on things such as: how the cheek should curve, what the nose shape is like or how many Fronds in his hair he should have lol
As you can see, I even have arrows indicating the motion of the lines. If you’ve seen some of my posts of my redesigns for the dc characters, sometimes you can see notes in them too. Sometimes I write them, and sometimes I just catalogue the set of “rules” I create for a character in my head.
So yeah, for further example, I knew keiko had to have softer shapes to contrast her with rolin’s personality. I can’t find it, but I have a page in my sketchbook just working out the shape of her hair, which was initially supposed to resemble a butterfly 🦋 but then I made it have boxy angles. Whenever I draw them, I guess I go through their Individual checklists in my head.
Like for rolin:
-more sharp eyes, in an almond like shape. Check
-cheek is curved but “steeper” and leads to a somewhat sharper chin. check
- I usually have to redo the nose a lot but once it’s in the right spot for me I check that off ig
Or for keiko:
- rounder, bigger, more oval like eyes. Check
- hair bangs should start a little to the left of the middle of her forehead line, then to the edge of her ear. Check
- her cheeks should be squishy and round, and she should have a smaller face with her features more closer together. Check
And so on and so on, and the character sheets help because then you get into the practice of doing those same lines over and over, and at different angles or expressions. So even though I want to stretch their face as they contort their facial expressions, I still follow the same structure and adjust accordingly to keep their form, if that makes sense, I’m not perfect at it but I like to think my designs are at least distinct from one another and consistently recognizable
And this is a recent example, which I haven’t posted on tumblr yet bc I have yet to color it, but this is me trying to explore barts design and making sure I could still make it look On Model despite the different facial expressions.
So in summary my strategy would be to
1. Sketch and explore the character design, write notes and study what lines or elements work or don’t work
2. Create a list or repository of the essential elements or a set of steps to recreate the same design
3. Practice and make a sheet where all you do is actually recreate that design over and over again, until your hand can just do it without your brain having to recall the steps one by one , if that makes sense
Of course, I like to redesign all the time as well but I try to at least capture the character’s essence 😗

What sort of hobbies or interests do you imagine the Gang having (outside thievery or arresting said thieves)? And do they influence the way they go about their usual antics, or are they mostly Unrelated to everything else in their lives? :0c
oohhooohoho this is a good one because i have a small handful of actual canonical hobbies/interests that come up occasionally and then i have the ones that solely exist in my mind palace. at least until tms decides to let a random little shrimp from america take the reins on their most longrunning successful franchise anyway,
lupin:
i can’t remember if i mentioned lupin loves puzzles. wait yes i did in the video game list SORRY I’M ALREADY HAVING TROUBLE REMEMBERING WHAT I HAVE AND HAVEN’T GONE OFF ABOUT but yes in canon lupin LOVES puzzles. less like, jigsaw puzzles, more like shapey puzzles. but hell man if you can get him to sit still long enough he might like a jigsaw one just to pass the time
i think he likes cooking. him, jigen and goemon all seem to really Get it. so count this under all of them, they just love yummy food and occasionally the process of making it too
he likes to draw :) somebody has to be behind all the slightly different variants of his little mascot guy. SOMEBODY has to redraw bank floor plans so they can plan out each tiny step of the heist. somebody has to scribble over his own wanted posters to put funny little devil horns on the image CMON now!!
jigen:
only jigen could be in a fucking arcade theater complex and pull out a fucking crossword puzzle. why is this dude honestly trying to speedrun being a grouchy old man before he even turns 40. i mean no hate, no hate to crossword puzzles, they are cool but i’m more of a wordsearch guy. BUT THERE’S OTHER STUFF TO DO JIGEN!! at least he’s not going for sudoku though
very random but i think he might like sewing in a passive sense. with how particular he is about his hat and really ANY clothes on his person, he probably just picked up a needle one day to fix a tear and then was like Huh. this isn't too bad actually. kinda repetitive and calming. and then the others found out and tried to get him to fix all their stuff too SO HALF PLEASANT AND HALF NOT SO PLEASANT
fujiko:
you may think i’m insane but fujiko must genuinely have some sort of fondness for computers and technology. more than she lets on at least, because. how DO you know how to fly every type of aircraft. how DO you know how to crack into almost any computer firewall? how do you know how to isolate a computer virus as it’s ALREADY corrupted HALF OF THE SYSTEM?? this goes beyond job necessity to me she must really have some hidden underlying passion for this stuff
i think it’d be cute if she took up some kinda journaling. i mean god knows she’s not writing about her FEELINGS in that little leather notebook, and she doesn’t really have the time to commit to like, scrapbook shit (even if she had the time, she’s not sentimental like that) but something simple like “this is a list of m&m variants in order of how disgusting to not disgusting they taste to me <3” with little candy stickers and gel pen hearts drawn in. the next page has a bloodstain on it and the only thing written is “dw about that lol
goemon:
okay i KNOW i’ve pushed the Arts Enjoyer goe agenda before but i recently saw that part 3 production art again of him chilling with the pottery wheel so i must state, once again, goemon LOVES sculpting shit in all forms. chip away at some rock, throw zantetsuken at a block of wood, actually invest in some clay for fucking once, whatever he uses, he’ll make something pretty good. and even if it wasn’t good it’s still a fun hobby for him. keeps his hands loose but precise
oh my god you know what he would love. dominoes. you know when people make those like crazy long domino strings that form a pattern when they’ve all fallen. if anybody here could have the precision and strangely placed patience to do shit like that it’s definitely this guy
zenigata:
going through this list easily and eagerly typing up little funfacts about things i do know they like outside of their. “jobs” and then slowly realizing as i get to zenigata that i... cannot think of anything he. uh. does for fun. damn. he DOES talk about movies a lil bit from time to time, and knowing his mixture of a freakish eye for detail and also missing the most obvious things ever i bet hearing him talk about a movie is twice as fun as actually watching it. i would pay HUNDREDS to hear him try to explain what he thinks of space odyssey to me
it would be-- i have no reasoning for this but it would be so cute and hilarious if he did like. tiny magic tricks. you know? like card appearing out of thin air, coin behind your ear type shit. tiny stuff he figured out on his brief off time. we know lupin can do little stuff like that too but it'd just be hilarious if zenigata, completely unawarely and unintentionally for once, ended up being better than him at some inconsequential shit like making a pair of keys disappear
and i guess in light of recent discoveries they all like golf. apparently. well. no one is perfect
#i really had trouble reading over this again and being like hm. is this actually a possibility or do i just want it to be#but then i remembered its my blog and i can type what i wish!! yippee!#lupin iii#lupin the third#lupin#jigen#fujiko#goemon#zenigata#asks

✨ Character Cards are back! ✨
…and now on my Ko-Fi! ☕️🍒
#the poll came out almost completely split so. sounds good. 👍#haha but fr very useful! I try to give as many accessible options as possible#so I’m thinking some bigger more curated scenes for the larger ones#and something VERY silly and simple and fun for the small ones#bc as much as I love the mini comms they do take a little longer than is sustainable#so expect something very amoeba and shapey for the new ones haha#but thank you for the feedback always love hearing from you guys!#commissions

i love your style!! do u have any advice on stylising humans?
YES!! It's my favourite thing to do... I might go a little long with this sorry !! Very enthusiastic about stylization!
For the drawing I'm using to demo this, I'm working off of this still from Fargo :3
you've probably heard it all before from others but I always break stuff down into simply shapes!! I love squares... and sharp angles!! They are my best friend.
Breaking down the facial planes is something I can kinda do in my head now as I sketch out the face, here's what I can see for this; (again, everything is super shapey! works best 4 me)
Then it becomes a matter of contorting various features into shapes as well! Have fun with it, shapes can be sooo flexible and can hold so much weight, emotion and movement!

It's 2023 and I'm still using the same template now 7 years in a row! Yippeee!
This year I decided to ramble about each artwork presented so uh. Storytime! Under the cut.
(Also usual reminder that now I have a GW2 side blog so that's where I'll upload GW2 artworks from now on -> @glitchgw2 (except the zine piece because I entered the zine with this blog))
January: I was going through a bit of an artblock, most of the things I drew this month were traced. One of the only things not traced was this Anassy! "Ah, etto... bleh!" I said after tracing the 5th drawing I saw on the internet.
February: a commission! Long overdue, but I finally finished it. Sylvaries are always tough to render. >.< The other things I drew this month were art party doodles and personal stuff.
March: one of the two months where the featured piece is the only thing I "finished" that month. And last minute, too! Made for trans visibility day which was on the very last day of March.
April: due to several things, Tyria Pride 2022's art commission giveaways got delayed to 2023. This was my piece for the person I was assigned to! ^_^ This was fun, I found out some new ways to render sylvari hair...
May: I vividly remember seeing a Diavolo art with this same reference and I was like hey. I could do this too but with Lucien. How haven't I done this before. P.S.: he's actually nothing like Bateman but it's a sick cover anyway lol. Mmm knife...
June: it was a sick (as in like epic) month for me. I reworked Dawn and Incendere (my Ghost OC), welcomed my unhinged self and drew a lot of nsfw. But not good nor holy enough to share. :P But it was a nice practice anyway. I chose one drawing of Dawn because out of everything I drew it looks the most "clean" and finished.
July: I remembered My Life as a Teenage Robot as I do tri-monthly and almost made an AU for Lucien. Almost. So instead I just made whatever this is. This was one of the most fun pieces I've ever did, I finally feel comfortable lining in CSP and just in general this was super shapey and smooth to work on. <3
August: Tyria Pride giveaway commission but this time, in time! I got to work on a lovely charr which I don't do often! My other choices would have been a cropped nsfw commission but I lowkey like this one better.
September: the other month where I didn't draw anything but this. Had a banger idea for Gliaster's future which is them becoming a lich but also being corrupted by malignant powers so they're now even more evil and also driven by vengeance towards the Commander and Aurene. Tried to come up with a design for them, alas this piece. It's... very in progress. But I like said progress so far.
October: the opportunity for an art related full-time job came up which meant I had to up my portfolio and draw some realistic/semi-realistic studies. I was surprised by myself lmao but ngl it was also a big pain in the ass. Art is suffering. <3
November: the continuation of October but now with an original piece! Felt like drawing one of my best friend's GW2 characters. <3 Haven't uploaded this one yet as I might rework the background sometime.
December: and finally, my piece for Commander Of Your Heart GW2 zine! Which wasn't actually restricted to only Commander characters, but any other OCs/player characters too, so of course I chose Gliaster. :D And we can apparently show teasers, so I can include this little bit! But what is Gliaster up to? Find out in February, for free!
*
Aaand that's it. It was actually super fun to look back to the year not only in pictures but some words too. :D If you read this all, I appreciate you, thank you so much. <3

Motherhood suited Avatar Korra very well.
They named her Yasuko.
The whole world celebrated Avatar Korra and Asami Sato's happiness.
- - - - - -
Currently Korra was enjoying her favourite time of the day. The night time routine.
The couple agreed well before their daughter was born that Asami would do the mornings and taking Yassy to the in-house nursery at Future industries tower and Korra would have the evening slot.
- - - - - -
Yasuko was happily splashing in the warm bath water, snuggling back against Korra's muscular chest.
"Make shapeys Mama"? Yasuko asked, tilting her head all the way back to look up at her mother.
"You want shapeys Yassy"? Korra cooed.
The toddler nodded so the Avatar obliged.
- - - - - -
Using her water bending Korra created shapes out of warm bath water for her daughter's entertainment.
"Circle" Yasuko said confidently.
"That's right Yassy, good job sweetheart" Korra praised her daughter as she morphed the water into a triangle.
- - - - - -
An hour into bathtime (Korra kept warming the water with her firebending) Asami wondered into the bathroom.
"Are we having fun"? She asked, smiling at her two favourite people in the bath.
"Look Mummy" Yasuko giggled, pointing at the half dozen figures Korra had created to tell her daughter an old water tribe story.
"Wow, I see Mama's showing off again" Asami teased her wife.
The Avatar stuck her tongue out at her wife, which made Asami rolled her eyes.
"The mighty Avatar ladies and gentlemen, reduced to sticking her tongue out like a toddler".
Korra huffed out indignantly, "I can be mature".
"Of course you can baby" Asami smiled as she lent down and kissed Korra's forehead.
- - - - - -
After Asami had taken her shower she glanced over towards the bath. "Okay Yassy, it's bedtime, let's get you dry and Mama can read you a bedtime story".
Both Yasuko and Korra whined their displeasure.
Asami rolled her eyes, "I'm a mother of two" she muttered as she turned to grab her Daughter a towel.
She started when I jet of water hit her on the back.
She stood bolt upright and turned slowly to face her wife. "Very mature Korra".
"Huh"? Korra asked, looking up from unplugging the bath tub.
"Don't play innocent, you splashed me with water bending".
Korra raised an eyebrow, "no I didn't".
"Don't lie to me Korra, I know it was you".
"It. Was . Not . Me" Korra stated through gritted teeth.
"Pft" Asami tutted dismissively, "the least you could do is lie with some conviction".
Korra stood up in the bath, "you want to see water bending? I'll show you water bending".
The Avatar waved her arms and the entirety of the remaining dirty bath water rose as one, and started to swirl in a powerful vortex.
"Korra" Asami said weakly.
"This is what a water bending master looks like Asami. Can you tell the difference"?
"Stop ! Stop ! Stop !" Yasuko screamed, she raised both her arms above her head and the water above her froze solid.
Korra struggled to regain control of the ice in her shock, but she managed to return it to water and fed it into the pipes.
"You can water bend" both her parents said in unison.
Yasuko smiled shyly up at her parents before she sneezed and a small jet of fire shot out of both nostrils.
"Uh oh" Korra said into the silence.
"You just HAD to ask the spirits for a child. Didn't you"? Asami sighed.
"I'll train her myself" Korra said quickly.
"Oh you better. One piece of furniture gets burnt Korra, and you're sleeping with Naga in the stables, got it"?
Korra nodded, it was going to be a LONG time before they could sleep easy again if Yasuko was anything like her.
"No Yassy ! Don't dry your hair with fire bending"!
.....
Korra spent a while sleeping with Naga in the stables.

havent made an art style post in a while! LOL but dont worry this one isnt a ~crisis~ like i used to have
so recently ive realized im Very happy with my art style and the direction its taking. one of my friends has a super toony/shapey style that i absolutely adore, and it reminded me how i used to draw in that style and how much fun i had with it. so sometimes i think about how i miss drawing like that
but after some thought i think i came to the conclusion that i...dont??? i dont wanna draw in that style anymore. it doesnt feel like Me anymore. yknow? i thought that the "icky" feeling i got whenever i thought abt drawing like that was the leftover icky feeling from the critique i got a long time ago, but i realized it was actually just me not feeling like the art style fit me anymore. yeah i miss being known as "the cartoony dragon ball/ina11 guy" but thats an era passed now i guess u_u we move
i do have things i wanna do with my current art still but im workin on it :] ive moved on from the super toony style and found my true voice in style i think. it feels really nice. its funny too bc its actually super close to the style i used before i got into danny phantom--back in my hetalia/dmmd days (i know.) when my art style was, imo, pretty peak
but ya. i guess ive officially moved on from the cartoony style u_u you will be missed

Your art is very shapey and it's really cool!! I was wondering if maybe you could share a bit of your process??
hey, thank you for the kind words. i appreciate it greatly.
i'll be honest; in terms of a "process" i dont really have one? i'm not as traditional as other artists go, but, if i really think about it, that's the magic of creating, as sappy/cheesy as that sounds lol. i'll talk about what i can tho. i'm not great with words so, bear with me.
i free draw, i don't really draw the traditional guidelines or anything, like the circle with the cross over it? even tho sometimes that bites me in the ass, but thats just how i've taught myself to draw and there's no point in changing that for the sake of being like everyone else.
i start by drawing the jawline first. obviously changes with every face shape i draw but ive drawn this specific look so many times. tbh if anything is my "guideline" its this
i'm drawing franziska since she's all i've been wanting to draw lately.
another method that pops up in my art a lot is utilizing layers like crazy, it helps me so much. i usually draw the hair on a separate layer, and the torso, and sometimes an arm. it helps when i want to change it's size or move it freely, without having to erase so much of what's underneath.
i also keep the opacity lowered because it helps me focus on which part i'm working on.
sometimes im not as sketchy and messy as this as sometimes i draw really quickly.
i tried not erasing as much to show how messy i really am even tho it's usually cleaner at this point when im actually drawing.
here it is semi-cleaned and opacity all put back to normal.
most of my stuff i make is simple doodles, i dont worry about cleaning so much all the time.
that's all i can think of. in terms of color tho, i never really color or render, not often at least.
but tricks i use are usually changing the color of the lineart (oh yeah i hardly ever line my work, i clean and color the sketch) another thing is, instead of making the color darker, i just use a different color entirely. for example, of im shading white, instead of using grey, i'll use blue or something. just makes it pop. i tend to color differently every time i do it, tho those two things are the two that stick in my head the most.
i tend to draw the same elements over and over, like short hair and sideburns. masculine traits. i am transmasc after all, and i put a lot of myself in the content i make. i'm sure that was obvious enough lol. i don't wish to be a professional when it comes to art, i do it purely for fun. i'll be blunt, i usually draw what i want, how i want. it's for my sanity.
thank you for indulging me.
