Just a few doodles of the day, some of it stems from conversations in the Eclipse nation. Clippie is no longer a silly little Nickname yall.

In lieu of the lunar eclipse last night (Americas) I shall share a simple hc/drabble

Tokoyami’s family (father side) celebrates the lunar eclipse with a night long bonfire party with dancing and music. Tokoyami’s fondest memory is the one he attended when he was 9 and it was truly the perfect night. This was before his grandparents died and the accident with his parents so everyone was there and so happy. Tokoyami loved dancing back then and him and shadow danced under the blood moon with all his family members.

Of course his family fell apart soon after that and he missed attending any more lunar celebrations. At UA though perhaps in second year there is another lunar eclipse and he is determined to hold his own “little” ceremony for just shadow and him.

This time he will only wakes up for the hour surrounding the total eclipse to dance because of school. But he has such complicated feeling about dancing now. Due to the loss of his family members and those memories of dancing with them he can’t bring himself to dance with anyone except shadow anymore.

Of course, tokoyami wasn’t the only one to stay up to see the eclipse. Ochako, Midoriya, Momo, Jiro, and Shinso are trying to see the moon from a telescope on the roof. But they see toko and shadow sneak off into the woods so they follow them :)

Tokoyami was very excited about the eclipse and couldn’t sleep a wink! Now at 16 he’s resolved a lot of the negative feelings from the past and he just wants to live in this moment…dark shadow is more subdued though. When tokoyami presses them about their uncharacteristic lack of enthusiasm dark shadow—partially fulled by the darkness around them—bursts into tears. They feel responsible for tearing the family apart; they wish things could be how they used to be. Tokoyami easily soothes them by admitting he has the same feelings but reminds shadow they will always have each other. The intruders are found by Shadow once they have calmed down and midoriya is already in tears because he is very empathetic and when shadow cries he cries too. When jiro asks what they are doing Tokoyami explains the event and to everyone’s complete shock asks them if they want to participate. (Tokoyami is a private person and as previously stated has a complex about dancing, but shadow seemed so sad to be alone he really wants to try this for them). Of course they agree and they actually have an amazing time dancing. Tokoyami and dark shadow are amazing dancers together and when shadow lifts him it looks like he’s walking through air. At first jiro borrows Tokoyami’s acoustic bass and plays but toko switches with her towards the end so she can dance with momo. Ochako and mido are dancing for a while until shadow comes over and dances with each of them. The only reason shinso is there is because he was already awake but even he has a good time and dances a bit with momo.

Aizawa tries to crash the party but they had already finished and the eclipse was fading. Everyone escaped before aizawa could see them except tokoyami. He says he was the only one out here all night and will accept any punishment for breaking curfew. Aizawa’s punishment is surprisingly light but Tokoyami’s downright joyous demeanor is throwing him for a loop and he just wanted to go to bed.

In the end tokoyami and shadow might not be able to get their old family back but they have a new one that’s just as good.

I have two that are pretty Black Arms centric and I'd love to talk about them!

#1: The Black Prince

Black Doom sneaks aboard the Ark and steals Shadow before he left the tube for the first time and brings him to the Ark! From there Black Doom creates Eclipse to be Shadow's brother/personal training partner and raises the two of them. Shadow becomes known as the Black Prince, Doom's heir. The Black Arms make their way across the universe, with Shadow convincing Doom to make alliances with the other planets instead of straight up conquering them. Eventually, they discover a Chaos Emerald, which allows the Black Comet to return to Earth way before the 50 years is up.

Meanwhile, Gerald and Maria got kicked off the Ark when Shadow went missing, so they were forced to go home to Earth. There, Gerald did what he could to recreate the ultimate lifeform and also did what he could to treat Maria's illness. Gerald ended up succeeding in recreating the ultimate lifeform, and made Terios! (Shadow beta design babyyyyy!) So Maria and Terios grow up together until the present time.

Anyway, the Black Arms invade Earth and Shadow ends up coming into contact with Terios. Now Terios knows about Shadow's origins and how he was stolen, but Shadow doesn't! So Terios starts trying to get Shadow on his side and this makes Shadow start to doubt a lot of what he thought he knew. Aaaaand, I'll pause there because that's about as far as I have planned. >:) I will get around to writing this one some day.

#2: Little Gremlins

So this is the Lilo and Stitch AU. XD Shadow (and Eclipse) are genetic experiments created by Black Doom to be the secret weapons of the Black Arms, who are waging a universe wide war. Shadow ends up getting captured by the good guys before escaping to Earth and crash landing on Hawaii. He gets picked up as a pet by the family of Knuckles and his two little brother Sonic and Tails. The family quickly realizes Shadow is way more than an animal and Sonic starts teaching him how to be good.

Of course the Black Arms stuff comes back to bother them later, but that's spoilers. If you want a hint though, check under the cut in this post I made.

One last thought

in this au, I think Eclipse hasn't really had a good sleep since Shadow died. He was viciously hunted down and then locked up by GUN. He's only gotten snatches of sleep here and there.

Team Dark, looking at him crying and muttering nonsense decide they need to take him somewhere safe and get some answers for this strange behavior... and I think Eclipse just passes the fuck out. His body just gives out and he sleeps for 14 straight hours.

The whole time, Shadow just next to him (in the beginning, in case it was an act) but the longer he sleeps, the longer Shadow starts to think there is something actually going on here...

Makes me curious to think like. What would happen if Shadow was able to somehow put the pieces together and discover all THAT. If that were to happen ik it probably wouldn’t for a LONG time, and it isn’t on his own, but still interesting to think about. Or does he reach a different conclusion entirely? My brainrot thinking process is all over the place rn I’m sorry, I’m excited XD

Sonic boom episode in which black doom and eclipse just… Appear on the island/in hedgehog village and instead of tormenting shadow the normal way BD pretends to be a Totally Normal Tourist/new resident and also claims to anyone who’ll listen that he’s shadow’s foster/adoptive/step/whatever father. Everyone promptly assumes that this is why shadow is Like That. He has a strained relationship with his dad. Also BD is like. A model citizen. Has tea with Amy. There is absolutely nothing that shadow could use as a reason to kick him out.

BD ALSO is still like- The Devil from The Bible but he’s wearing a Hawaiian shirt and that’s the extent of his disguise. Eclipse is there bc I love eclipse.

ah so shadow's association with hawaiian shirts runs in the family. i see

bd just shows up on the island one day with his other son that shadow didn't even know existed which only exacerbates their family issues. he may be a model citizen and proud parent on the surface and but he's objectively pretty damn bad at being a decent father (as proven by shadow being unaware of eclipse's existence until he absolutely had to know). whether he's genuine about improving and becoming more responsible remains TBD

hey wouldn't it be fun if shadow and eclipse became like a parallel/foil to sonic and tails? you have two adoptive brothers who may not be biologically related but are the ideal sibling relationship vs two biological brothers who are really only siblings by blood and nothing else because they very much are just strangers (and neither of them are the type that can just start bonding like that)

we didnt get the total eclipse here, but i got to partially see it! its wonderful that the moon is just the right distance from the earth to be able to create total eclipses, isnt it?

Behold. The cuteness of a snom. *Holds out a squeaking snom that seems to really like both Shadow and Eclipse. How can you tell? It crawls up to them and clings to Eclipse's foot with the little nubs on its face with the sweetest squeak and happy look on its face*

"Ah...that's the weirdest looking creature I've ever seen." Eclipse remarked, looking down at the young Shadow afterwards, who looked somewhat afraid and had to be picked up by Sonic.

"Is that like, a slug?" Sonic questioned. "I really need to get a door or something..."

"I have the urge to adopt it and become it's father figure."

"Huh?"

Eclipse and Lark bodyswap somehow and don't tell their brothers. (So Eclipse is impersonating Lark and Lark is impersonating Eclipse.) What happens?

Either one of two things happen after that

He has to try his HARDEST to pretend at least Terios is fine. Why is Eclipse being more annoying towards Shadow than usual? Terios goes detective mode

He's TERRIBLE at faking it

Eclipse doesn't like how his powers are gone but he DOES like this new environment and new people to try out his pranks and such on. Shadow may have been fun with all his reactions but THIS IS LIKE AN EXPERIMENT. YEAH. HOW MANY HAS SHADOW NEVER DONE BEFORE? WELL HES ABOUT TO FIND OUT

ALSO WHY IS LARK CALLING HIMSELF A PRINCE??? (I also think it would be funny if the Dark Arms automatically knew it was him. From the start. He can't hide it from them.)

Buuuut them theres also problems. The main one being that they still have big brothers who will restrain them, REGARDLESS of how they're behaving. Bonus points for when one of them is found out and said brother DRAGS THEM BACK TO THEIR OWN HOME
