tesso's bingo card for infinite wealth
i will explain each category as if he was in ichiban's party 💔
__________
Life Hack: Acupressure
Tesso says acupressure can help with some types of pain and a good alternative to acupuncture. In his opinion, knowing certain pressure points is a good thing to keep in mind in a pinch.
Surprising Fact: Has a daughter
I've said this before (LOL) but Tesso has adopted one of the kids of Restaurant Row. Her name is Yua. This isn't quite expected from an assassin of the Liumang...
Bad Habit: Cooks everything on high heat
Literally cooks on a fire engine. It looks scary the first time you see it, but he assures to have never come close to burning down his house. Seonhee doesn't like this at all.
Likes: Playing Mahjong with Seonhee
She's a though match and tends to win often. Tesso tries very hard to beat her.
Special Skill: Can fall asleep anywhere
Tends to not sleep at night, so, he tried getting rest anytime he can during the day. He even fell asleep standing up one time (without falling).
Currently Hooked On: Manga
He checked out what one of his subordinates (probably Yeona) was reading and he ended up really into it. He recalled giving manga not much attention when he was young, so he regrets missing out on it a bit.
Hobby: Gardening
Grows radishes and cabbages on the rooftops of some Restaurant Row buildings. Uses it exclusively for Seonhee's kimchi, Yua's dishes or meals for his subordinates (so he's not selling these, family only!).
Wants To Learn: Dancing
He got curious from hearing Yagami being an advisor at Seiryo. He thought it might be worth trying as a workout since it looks fun.
Last Thing He Bought: A drone
Kaito and Yagami gave him the idea. Totally frivolous since he has no real use to it, but worth it since he had never seen Restaurant Row from above.
Kid Tesso: Had a Hip phase
Long ago, he was all about dressing stylish and a so-called streetwear enthusiast. Took good care of his shoes even to a ridiculous degree ("Gotta keep my AirForce Ones white no matter what"). Looking back, he finds it funny that he doesn't really care about that sort of things anymore.
When He Can't Sleep: Goes on a long walk
On nights he can't find sleep, he just walks the streets of Yokohama to clear his mind. He challenges himself to memorize as many details about the streets as possible. It's useful at times.
Embarrassing Moment: Bleached his hair blond after losing a bet
Sugiura dared Tesso on a drinking duel out of the blue and lost terribly. To celebrate his win, Sugiura suggested Tesso tried out his hairstyle just for fun to see if he liked it. It was supposed to be dark brown but ended up leaving it for too long, so he was blond instead (like a #27).
Tesso hid his head under his jacket hood the entire following week, waiting long enough to dye his hair back to black. Since no knows it happened (Sugiura kept a lot of pictures though), they both could laugh about it. Tesso is just glad to not have gone bald.
Knows A Lot About: Shops in Yokohama
As per the long walks, he memorized many shops of Yokohama. For most things, he can always give a recommendation of where to look.
Favorite Food: Anything Zhao cooks
Seonhee is trying hard to make him admit it, but he just can't do it. Between her cooking and Zhao's cooking, deep down, Tesso likes Zhao's a little bit more. Nostalgia is a bit at play here since his food is very reminiscent of his uncle's old restaurant. However, Zhao is just that good of a cook, what can he say!
Current Dilemma: Buying dinner for all of his subordinates
Since the merge of the Liumang and Geomijul and being the second officer in charge, his number of subordinates pretty much doubled. It's nice since he gets along with them well, but it can be tricky and hard on the wallet to treat them all to dinner. Finding out something everyone will like is always a challenge.
Chronic Illness: Early-stage arthritis in his fingers
He is quite young for arthritis, but his gloved claws and stiff articulations of his hands make things worse. It's bearable for now, but he's unsure of how he will handle it in the future.
Tumblr media
kasuga and tesso would get along so great actaully! im dying on that hill!!!!

[A3!] ★ Main Story | Act 14 - DREAM CATCHER | Episode 18 - Young Thief
Tumblr media
Hato: Okay, so that’ll be the extent of your work, Rurikawa-kun. Does that seem manageable?
Yuki: It won’t be any problem.
Hato: Haha, dependable as ever. Glad to have your help.
Hato: Everyone in the office got super fired up when they saw Kataoka-san’s work. When you’re exposed to top-notch work, you just can’t help but be affected by it.
Hato: I think there’s a lot to be gained from actually getting involved and not just watching, so let’s keep up the hard work.
Tumblr media
Yuki: Yeah.
Yuki: (The work itself is the same as what I’m used to, but there are way more requests and points to take note of than usual.)
Yuki: (Each and every one of them makes sense and connects to a specific detail.)
Yuki: (I looked up Aiko Kataoka-san beforehand, but you don’t really get a good idea of what they do until you actually come into contact with their work.)
Yuki: (It’s the same old universal designs, but with a lot of attention to detail and elements with more of an edge.)
Yuki: (They’re really proud and confident in their own designs and they play into that… It really is amazing.)
Yuki: (An opportunity like this is rare, so I’ve gotta steal everything I can from it.)

Tumblr media
Yuki: …
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Flashback*
Review: “The costumes had that same stable feel they always have. But don’t you think that as Yuki Rurikawa’s become more established as a creator, his costumes have started to lack a bit of surprise and unexpectedness?”
Tumblr media
Review: “Maybe I’m just noticing it more after seeing Yua Troupe. I guess it’s just inevitable when you have the same designer do things every single time~.”
*Flashback end*
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Yuki: (Unexpectedness, huh. But I…)
Yuki: (I also have confidence in my designs.)
Yuki: (Looking at them objectively, the costumes for our debut performance all fit the concept of everyone being the lead, and it’s something that definitely fits the current Summer Troupe.)
Yuki: (That’s why…)
*Knock on door and door opens*
Banri: Nice work. Omi made a chiffon cake.
Yuki: Thanks.
Banri: Busy with your part-time job, huh?
Yuki: Duh. But it’s a great learning experience, and there’s a huge difference in what I can gain from seeing how someone works up close, so it’d be a waste if I didn’t give it my all.
Banri: Ahh, I getcha. Like how there’s a huge difference in the amount of information ya can get between just watchin’ a play and actually actin’ in a play with someone.
Yuki: It’s hard not to be inspired by what kind of beliefs they have about design.
Banri: Seems like your whole “challenge” thing was a great idea.
Yuki: I’d say so.
Banri: But it’s gotta be nice havin’ a room to yourself. I wish Hyodo would just go and fly to the U.S. or wherever for a week.
Banri: Anyway, since I know you miss the guy you’re always fightin’ with, I’ll trade places with ya, Yuki.
Tumblr media
Yuki: Haha, very funny. It’s actually nice being able to focus without him around.
Yuki: Besides, you’re the one always starting fights, so I’m sure you’d miss him if you didn’t have him around.
Banri: Good one.
Yuki: Isn’t it?
Banri: Anyway, ain’t it almost time for him to start doin’ stuff over there? Why dontcha talk to him?
Yuki: …

Chapter 4
Tumblr media
Kamiya: Not Nonomura-san, but her real father…? Tomose: He is a friend of both Roka and the Nonomuras. It seems that this request was also brought in after he consulted with the couple. At the request of the client, the number of people who’s allowed to know this fact is kept to a minimum. In particular, the contract states that we will not tell anyone in the same business as our clients or anyone connected to that industry. Kamiya: Don’t tell me the reason you have her leave earlier….. Tomose: I didn't hear the details, but it seems that Yashiro’s relative would make us violate that condition. Kamiya: I see. Now I know why you can’t explain that to her. Deputy… I hope she’s not misunderstanding. Tomose: What misunderstanding? Kamiya: I hope she doesn't feel like she's the only one who's been left out. Tomose: Did she feel angry or hurt? Kamiya: Angry, hurt… or rather, lonely? It was only for a moment, but I noticed she froze a little earlier. Tomose: ……………Is that so? (Although I didn't feel any emotional fluctuation when she stopped.) (In fact, it was the opposite. Rather than sudden emotions showing on her face, at that moment, she suddenly…..) Kamiya: …..Tomose-san? Tomose: ………………It’s nothing. When it comes to the ability to sense subtleties, you are several levels superior to her. Just to let you know, I have no intention of leaving her out. If necessary, make sure you follow up with her. Although I know it's difficult to explain due to the contract…. Kamiya: Oh… Well, yeah. Got it. First of all, I want to make it clear to her that Tomose-san is not a scary person.
Tumblr media
Tomose: Does that even matter? Kamiya: I mean…. It's a shame, when you’re such a kind person. Tomose: Only you and Yu would say something like that. Kamiya: Ahaha. …....Hey, did Yua know? About the fact that her real father is trying to protect her. Tomose: There's no reason to tell her. He supposedly had died in an accident a long time ago. Kamiya: ……..I see. Tomose: There are 5 days left until all the procedures, including guarding are completed. Urara is on another case, so this time we have a team of 4, Yashiro included. You two will be in charge of her personal care, and I and Yu will be in charge of guarding her. Kamiya: By personal care, you mean…. Tomose: Keep an eye on her, sense her anxiety and fear, and relieve them whenever they occur. Above all, "don't let her be aware of any danger." Kamiya: I see. Got it. Tomose: Just tell Yashiro this and that this task is "babysitting and guarding". That should be enough to prevent her from being overly vulnerable. This guarding is just a precaution in case something occurs, so there's a good chance nothing will happen. Kamiya: Tomose-san, how likely is that "just in case"? Tomose: The possibility for the case that Yu and I fail to stop the harm and it directly injures you guys is one in a million. But there's still a chance that we'll need to deal with that. Kamiya: Copy that. Tomose: Be that as it may, don't pay too much attention to it. Kamiya: Eh? Tomose: That girl will probably read the mood and get nervous as well. Let her feel at ease as much as possible. I know you got this, Kamiya.
Tumblr media
Kamiya: .……Seriously. That's what I mean when I say you’re kind. Okay, I'll do my best. Yashiro-san seems pretty reliable in that regard after all. Tomose: If anything, Yashiro, like me, doesn't seem like the type to make people feel at ease. Kamiya: Ahaha. That's not true, just like Tomose-san, she gave off a cool impression at first. But once you get to know her, her demeanor changes completely. I think she’s the type to make people feel at ease more than the average person. Tomose: You can't judge a book by its cover. Kamiya: Throwing a fastball like that might be quite rude, you know? Tomose: Do you have anything to back up your claim? Kamiya: Ehhh? Hmm… Let’s see. The way she treats Yua aside…. I think she's usually very careful not to touch people's sensitive topic. However……….. I have a feeling… Our deputy herself doesn't like that sort of thing. Tomose: ……..Does that mean Yashiro has a "sensitive side"? Kamiya: What do you mean? Tomose: I'm asking if there's something suspicious about her that makes her seem like she's hiding something she doesn't want anyone to probe into. Kamiya: Eh? No, no, not that way! I just think deputy isn't very good at suddenly being asked about herself and answering the question. It’s just a vague thought… But it starts to sound like she is hiding something now…. And I don't like the sound of that. Sorry. I take back what I said, forget it. Tomose: You don't need to be so hasty. I don't think Yashiro is a bad individual either Kamiya: Far from that, she's actually a really good person. I think she will be fine. Tomose: …………You're still as kind as ever. Kamiya: Ehh? Is there any other implication in your sentence? Tomose: It's something close to a compliment. Kamiya: So there’s a little badmouthing? Tomose: Not my intention. Currently, I don't think she's a bad person, but I don't think she's as virtuous as Kamiya. Well, if I really have to put it more clearly, then yes, I’m badmouthing Yashiro. Kamiya: Why does this turn into badmouthing now? That's where misunderstandings come from. Tomose: Anyway, I understand it already. If Yashiro is someone you can rely on, just cooperate with her. I'll leave it to you. Kamiya: Yeah. Copy that. Tomose: That's all for now. I'll get back to you if I have anything else to share.
Tumblr media
Kamiya: Oh, just one more thing. Can I ask you for more information about Yua's biological mother? Tomose: Sure. I guess that data was deleted from the documents. Regarding Nonomura Yua's real mother…… Kamiya: …Eh?

SHIFTING STORY (My First Royalty Shifting For My Ult Bias JoJo🥺)
Note : I just want to share my shifting experience yesterday. And don't read it if you're uncomfortable or it's still minor. I will also use a third person point of view because it's make me more comfortable telling about my latest shifting experience👀. Because I will tell you in detail how my shifting flows (I even had a conversation that I remember)🧎‍♀️.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
• (My) Family Background
So, my name in my desire reality is 'Shigeta Yua'. Yua is Harua's older sister who is only one year older than him. Yua and Harua were raised in a Japanese noble family, and had a not-too-old-fashioned upbringing. They are allowed to wear modern clothes that today's children like, and are allowed to take part in several youth activities, such as gathering in cafes. They can even pursue careers according to the talents they pursue or like.
Harua and Yua's mother, Mrs Miura Keiko is the chief lady-in-waiting to the Empress Consort, Empress Yuriko. Mrs. Miura and Empress Yuriko have even been friends since they were teenagers, and were both born into Japanese noble families. The only difference is, Mrs. Miura married a rich admiral + noble families too, Shigeta Kenji, while Yuriko married the crown prince of Japan (at that time), Asakura Minato.
Apart from the Miura family which was also close to the Imperial family, the Shigeta family was also close to the Imperial family. Almost all the men in the Shigeta family for hundreds of years played an important role in the royal military, they served the military line of the imperial family very well. Yua and Harua's great-grandfathers were even close friends of the current emperor's grandfather.
• (My) Arranged Marriage
The closeness of the Imperial family to her family meant that Yua had a sharp connection with two of the emperor's sons, especially the Emperor's youngest son, Prince Asakura Jo. Yua and Jo have been friends since they were little, and have always been to the same school.
Of course, both of their mothers knew about this closeness, especially Empress Yuriko. Empress Yuriko wants Yua to be the wife of her youngest son. She told Keiko directly that she wanted Keiko's daughter to be her daughter-in-law when their two children were completely grown up.
Empress Yuriko's request had been conveyed directly to Yua, Kenji of course immediately agreed to this match. Yua? Oh, she had loved Jo since she was little, and without further ado she agreed to this match.
However, Jo's reaction was very different from Yua's, a reaction that made Yua hurt. Jo outright rejected this match and even said he never considered Yua more than a friend. Jo said that he wanted his own choice, not an arranged marriage like this, especially with his best friend. Without realizing that he did love Yua too.
• (My) Relationship Conflicts
After that incident, Yua and Jo really immediately became strangers, with Yua having a wound in her heart. Jo even told her to keep her distance and called her respectfully. Like 'Your Highness' or 'Imperial Highness'.
Yua often saw Jo close to several girls at their school, like a couple. Yua was of course jealous, she felt she should be the one in that position, not another girl. However, Yua couldn't do much, there was no way she would dare to fight Jo and get angry, she was no one to Jo anymore. Yua could only cry, burning with jealousy seeing Jo close to several girls.
Some time after Jo and herself became 'strangers' to each other, Yua actually got to know Yuma, a new kid at her school. Yuma is the son and sole heir of the Nakakita family which is famous in the field of art and making beautiful stone designs. Her closeness to Yuma made Yua quite healed and began to forget her hurt towards Jo. Yuma is also a really good friend to Yua, they often spend time together at school.
And now instead, Jo is actually burning with an extraordinary fire of jealousy when he hears that Yua and Yuma are very close and good friends. At first, he tried to look fine and not care about it, but all that indifference was in vain. Jo realizes that he really loves Yua, but realizes it too late. He's just annoyed that his parents set him up without his consent with Yua. Saying that he wants his own choice. But his own choice turned out to be Yua, his childhood friend who he 'abandoned' because of his stupid behavior.
The closer Yua and Yuma got, the more Jo burned. Until finally he lost his patience...
• Cooling (?)
Jo's patience disappeared right on Yua's 19th birthday. Yua's birthday was during their school days, and Yua attended extra classes at that time (Damn, I actually remember, me and Jo shouting at each other violently when the school was almost empty)💀.
When her extra class finished, Yua wanted to go to his row of lockers which of course was very quiet. Because no one went to the locker room before going home besides her.
However, while she was taking her jacket from her locker, Yua was surprised by Jo who was standing behind her. And that's where the 'fight' and arguments occurred, Yua (me) and Jo insulted each other, even though the insults were because of each other's jealousy.
And it all ended with Jo kissing Yua roughly, Yua was carried away by what Jo was doing to her. Yeah, they made love (GOTTA GO BACK TO THAT FUCKING DESIRE REALITY RN!💀I'M SO FUCKING CLENCHING RN😃). What I like the most is when Jo brings Yua (me) to a table, making Yua straddle the table, creating a new position🌚. Yua could see Jo looking at her with lustful eyes while hitting her sweet spot. Yua could also see how handsome Jo was, he was still wearing the Gakuran, because Yua and Jo weren't completely naked.
The peak of heat was when Jo cum inside Yua, making (my) her head want to explode at the sensation🌚. Yeah, being fucked by a Prince named Asakura Jo, who would refuse?😮‍💨.
Bro, after he was satisfied making love with Yua, he said that 'Yua is his', not anyone else's. You know what he said after they got dressed, he approached Yua, his hand dug into Yua flat stomach, touched it then said: "Let this grow inside you, if necessary we will get married tomorrow," 🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️ (I WISH IT WAS REAL, NOT BECAUSE I'M SHIFTING! JOJO I'M GONNA BACK BABE!)
Some Random Historian Butterfly Fun Facts
After finishing the newest chapter I’ve been thinking a lot about the Historian Butterfly series. I decided it would be fun to quickly write down some fun facts/headcannons about the characters. Most of these will be about Fukuro. These are things that might not come up in the story or are not covered in depth. Nothing here will be super big spoilers. They might come up in future chapters, but they won’t be a big deal. These are just small fun facts. This was a really fun way to get more of a feel for Fukuro’s character so let me know if you enjoyed.
If Fukuro had a breathing style it would be Water Breathing according to the official Demon Slayer Fanbook. I’m not sure if she would stick to that or use/create another style derived from it.
Fukuro is demisexual biromantic with a preference for women. She doesn’t really see people in a sexual way until she gets to know them. The thought of being sexually intimate with a stranger makes her sick.
In this AU, my headcannon is that Shinobu is a lesbian.
Fukuro is 6’0”. This makes her dynamic with Shinobu hilarious to me.
It’s been implied in earlier chapters, but Fukuro used to put a lot more care into her appearance when she was in high school and middle school. She wore lots of makeup, styled her hair, and loved putting together cute outfits. Once she went to college she got very busy and invested in her research, so she stopped.
Similarly to the previous post, Fukuro also used to wear her contacts much more often. But she started falling asleep with them in when she would spend days researching. Anyone with contacts would tell you how badly this would dry out your eyes. As a result she wore her glasses a lot more to avoid the issue.
Fukuro was very popular during her high school years. Ironically this is why she struggled to make genuine friends. This is also why she prefers to be called by her first name.
Both Fukuro and her sister have different shades of blond hair. Fukuro’s is strawberry blonde, while Emiko has platinum blond hair. This is because their grandfather was from the USA.
Ironically, Fukuro was scared of butterflies as a kid. This is because she once stepped on one and thought she was going to die because it was poisonous.
Despite her clumsy nature Fukuro has never broken a bone. She does have a small scar under her lip due to her teeth going through it when she was little though.
Fukuro doesn’t actually know for sure if she is in the same timeframe as when her great grandmother was a kakushi and when Muzak was defeated. Her memory is fuzzy enough on her grandmother’s stories that she hasn’t figured that out yet.
I like to think that Fukuro’s great grandmother is the equivalent to some sort of background character that always seemed to stumble upon important events. That’s why she knows so many stories.
Fukuro’s great grandmother’s name was Suzume Takara (If I’m correct then her first name means Sparrow)
Fukuro’s insomnia comes from her great grandmother. Her grandmother and mother have similar issues.
Fukuro, as well as her parents and siblings, are all fluent in sign language due to Emiko being selectively mute for a while.
Fukuro’s mother, Yua, is a lawyer. Her father, Hiroshi, works at his family’s bakery.
Fukuro’s back up plan if being a historian didn’t work out was to become an elementary school teacher.
Fukuro’s favorite food is natto, which is fermented soy beans with rice. Most people don’t like it. (It’s one of Japan’s least popular foods and considered an acquired taste) Her least favorite food is cinnamon rolls.
Fukuro is very good at lying, even when it’s on the spot. She knows the best way to lie is to say mostly the truth and leave out details, letting others make assumptions. She hates doing this though.
XV 💲 Jacky-Bobby | Trial 4.3 | RE: Yua, Max
"Tch. Don't misunderstand me. It's not the concept of demons that's crazy or unfathomable."
Dark magic slithers, thrives and writhes ever toiling, as ubiquitous as breathing. Anyone who's gone through life unscathed by its mark can count themself as lucky. If only everyone could be that innocently sheltered.
"What's unfathomable is the idea of anyone willingly taking part in such a contract, becoming trapped beneath a devil's cloven hoof. In the end, a pact is nothing more than a curse that follows you forever."
To jump headfirst into a lifetime of horror... Jacky-Bobby can't wrap his mind around it.
"What enticement could possibly be worth throwing away your freedom? Your humanity? All that and so much more, lost in a cursed exchange—an admittedly bad deal—for some 'psychic paintings,' whatever that may mean."
The impossible, made possible. Without knowing the details himself, Jacky-Bobby can only run on assumptions that he rejects with the very core of his soul. A sacrifice is always required, when it comes to things like these.
"That's what's crazy to me. How could dealing with a demon ever be worth it? I can only think that someone in a situation like that would've been lulled into it, or otherwise forced, or tricked but... we'll see if that's the case, won't we, Hibiki?"
Worth that much, and further worth Leon's life to retain the knowledge of it. How truly awful.
The only one who ever wins is the devil himself.
Hey Yoko!! I hope you don’t mind me commenting here than in Ao3. The formatting is just easier and I get to rb this lovely fic again so a win-win (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
First of all, I hope RL is treating you well and I’m really at awe at the hard work you put into this chapter, despite the time constrictions and all!! I’m very grateful that you wrote and shared this with us! You know this already, but I’ve seriously been anticipating for this since you updated that you’d be posting this soon, esp when TR Ao3 died a bit awhile back (but I think it’s slowly coming back bc of s2). I did say I’d comment, but I wasn’t intending for it to be this late (╥_╥). I think you’d understand given RL tends to ruin a lot of our fun, but I hope I could make up to it by writing this or at least getting a chuckle out of you for smashing my keyboard for raving on some scenes haha.
Anyways, I already warned you that I had a lot of thots for this chapter, but I hope you don’t mind me turning into an incoherent, rambling mess here  ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ
❁ Yua and Pierre’s backstory was endearing!!! I remember reading a snippet you shared about Chifuyu being in this chapter, but I still sort of went ballistic throughout his whole exchange with Yua. My guy muttering that humans deserve nothing good after the puppy was denied, him giving it a hug to calm it down, spouting all that Chin and Shih Tzu trivia—that’s so Chifuyu, I almost lost it!! (*≧▽≦)
❁ I squealed at the KazuFuyu banter! Also:
We’ll let you leave him here if you also leave us your LINE. How about that?
Kazutora, you smooth motherfucker. I’ll give you my LINE and I’m totally free on the weekends btw! You can bring Chifuyu with you too—
❁ I can’t recall if it’s stated before (I think it’s more heavily implied), but Yua’s mother is Chinese diaspora right? Since it’s mentioned her aunt also comes from the same village, then that means they’re sisters (or at least closely related). For awhile now, I assumed her aunt was related to her father haha.
Why I had to bring this up is because I noticed how Yua reminisced about her mother telling her the Legend of Bo Ya. While I’m aware that you’ve woven in both Chinese and Japanese tales masterfully into the story and themes, I had a hunch back then that either her mother had Chinese roots or she’s really well-read. I’m glad it’s the former! The moment Yua spoke Chū-jie, I had a little aha! moment. Esp when it’s mentioned after that she had an ear for the Chinese accent because of her mother.
I don’t think I’ve mentioned it but I really find Yua and her mother’s relationship so poignant and ridden with grief.
But you suppose you cannot think about life without thinking of her.
Being trapped in your circumstances, being driven away from your home and the life you had always known. Whenever Yua recalls about her mother, her mother also recalls a vestige of her home. They’re somewhat bonded through a somewhat similar conundrum. This misfortune is intergenerational is a quaint and fitting way of putting it, even though this line did get a chuckle out of me in a different context.
Though it would seem Yua is fighting and pushing back unlike her mother who’d been unfortunately beaten to it, which is understandable given how she couldn’t afford to be soft or weak in the ruthless world she lives in. Despite that, there’s still a fondness beneath all the callousness and jaded resentment, a daughter longing for her mother inside.
Yeah, and I’m also just here calling out Yua that despite the cold demeanor, she’s got a soft spot for a certain type *ehem* who’re a little helpless by themselves... Pierre, Atsuko *ehem*
❁ Again, nice touch providing us details on how Murasaki operates with how the girls are discouraged getting a typical day job, considering that the chances of them being discovered could mean ruining the fantasy the hostess club is selling to its clients. A strategic business tactic, truly.
I listened to a podcast about Tokyo nightlife (more on about host clubs than their counterpart, but they’re still talking about the mizu-shobai in general) and I remember them discussing that for a host/hostess, it isn’t all about how one sells their physical appearance and niceties, but the gimmick- or at least, the character they’re trying to sell to the client and gaining loyalty from them (so they come back and spend money on them). It sort of reminded me of that wherein the appeal of the girls in Murasaki is putting up this certain image for powerful men.
Also this description on Murasaki, which is telling of the establishment and what kind of business that actually runs in there ♥:
But Murasaki is none of those. Its glass and concrete façade blends well with the other buildings in Roppongi-itchōme, where major offices and foreign embassies are close, almost as if to present itself as one of them.
❁ So Ran Haitani... where do I start?
I need to stop raving about this sly bastard because quite frankly I don’t care about him in the manga. I see him and his brother as like a matching set and they’re just a duo who’s job is to look pretty and do some goofy poses. I’m always astounded whenever I read character pieces of them because the writing is always so godly to what we actually have (I think I’m missing something here??) and yours is no exception, Yoko!! Your interpretation of Ran is probably my favorite as is Kakucho’s.
Coolly clever as he is charismatic, perhaps with just a hint casual cruelty surfacing underneath.
Or could it really be what Izana said, that he was an idiot and had once again let his head drift off to the clouds?
I’d like to think he was like that when he was younger lol. Although we know little about an adult Ran, I’d like to think yours fits his character wherein he matured and embraced the Tokyo underworld as a Bonten executive. I really like the character study of him and Kakucho, their stark contrast to each other. It’s interesting how Kakucho begrudgingly thinks of Ran while we all know Kakucho is Ran’s most respected person hehe. Also interesting how they’re going after Yua. I wonder where’ll that lead down the line hmmm.
(I remember reading that you had a chapter just in Ran’s POV in ROAC from a post and just know, I’ll be looking forward to read it!! ♥)
“Well, I happen to like some of his tracks…” Ran appears to mull.
Also this is cute. Ran's such a supportive big brother! <3333
❁ I’ve stated this before but the comparisons between Ran and Prince Genji is just really perfect! While we’re on the topic of Genji, if there’s a name I remember it’s Lady Rokujo. Mostly because I remember her scaring the shit outta me in the animated movie for killing one of Genji’s wives lol and it makes me wonder what her role would serve here and what that means for Yua. Rokujo is known for her jealousy in the Tale of Genji, and since Kakucho had set his sights on Yua, I wonder if it’ll spark jealousy in Jo. Or maybe I’m just looking too deeply into it? (-_-)ゞ゛
❁ As for the others, I just looked up their names out of interest and tried to read into the intertextuality of the characters ☆=(ゝω・)/
Aoi is the one that mostly pulls in the sales, the top girl. Fitting when her counterpart is Genji’s first wife (older and more refined than him), but again, since you brought up Rokujo I’m really wondering if that'll head somewhere. Then you brought up Koremitsu too, who’s a concierge and isn’t really too far off the character of his namesake I believe haha.
❁ This roast on Takeomi tho lol. I mean, yeah, it’s good advice when it comes to presenting himself but still.
No one’s gonna look up to you if you don’t put yourself higher than them, said Takeomi when he caught Kakuchō telling a lackey he can open his own doors. The advice still doesn’t sit well—partly because it came from a man once ruined by hubris—but Kakuchō understands the need to be commanding.
Aaand a hundred points goes to Kakucho!!!
❁ Uhh is the blond, goateed man with Rindo Shion??
Okay! I'm actually not done yet haha. I've yet to discuss Yua and Kakucho, as well as Tanabata! Mostly because I'm still forming sentences from my notes and I'm posting this while at work lol. Hopefully, it won't take me an entire month to finish it, but expect another rambly comment/rb just on what I think about them!! ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა
Chapter 5: cowherd and weaver
We know how the story ends: in all versions of it, the crane leaves her lover in tears.
(In which: Kakuchō meets you at his worst. Eight years later, you meet him at yours.)
Pairings: Kakuchō x F!OC/Reader (ft. Haitani Ran x F!OC/Reader)
Send a ‘💬’ to catch a glimpse of a memory my muse has.   For @lunara ‘s ask that i somehow like got rid of lmao
[ Memory Log Engaging . . . ]
A new medic had been introduced into the Delphi Facility in territory that Tarn had kept a stronghold over. The previous medical team was unfortunate enough to get on the wrong side of Tarn--trying to take advantage of his more reasonable ways. To break a contract, a promise. Tarn didn’t enjoy when contracts were broken. How many Delphi teams did he have to go through to get one that was actually worth the trouble. There’d been a small handful before but unfortunate accidents happened.
Perhaps a different first approach might be different, he’d thought. He was the master of manipulation and torture so his processor was full of situations and techniques.
He’d watched them for several cycles, exploring the general area around the facility. This new ragtag team. One was a traitor. It peaked his interest. Ambulon wasn’t near the top of the List but was on it for sure. His name marked, dotted, and crossed, along with all of his crimes that put him on the List. Most never knew that they were on this Deadly Hit List.
The dark mech should have been seen throughout the vast blinding white landscape but was never spotted. Only once was music played while some of the crew was foraging outside Delphi’s walls. Only once did Tarn show his silhouette on the horizon when the crew was there with the new CMO. A show of power and control over the facility. Helex was by his side as well, a mech twice his size. A servo raised to gently touch Helex’s shoulder before they disappeared amongst the whiteout landscape.
The following time that Pharma had left the blast doors of the facility to grab one of the Autobot miners that Tarn so easily damaged and trapped. It was almost too easy to get these medics to come crawling out over their useless fodder of an army. When Pharma had come across him, he’d been badly damaged in a specific fashion. The Autobot was tortured and barely hanging on. A specific organ was even missing with a borehole right where his T-cog should be. Like a good little tortured bot, he released coordinates and a time for Pharma to meet the DJD Leader. Reluctantly agreeing, a smooth and sweet whistled echoed across the landscape from the camouflaged Tarn--a sweet release of music. The Autobot in the CMO’s grasp as he tried stabilizing him suddenly seized and offlined.
As followed, Pharma met between the cavernous bottom of a canyon one of full moon nights. Thing is, Pharma got there first before Tarn did. Once he’d entered, there was a display of dominance from the DJD Leader and for good reason. one of Messatines moons was right behind him, masking most of his appearance. His many biolights that adorned his frame twinkled and drowned Pharma’s white frame. He stood quite a bit taller than the flight medic as well.
They exchanged words. At first there was no common ground which angered the Decepticon. He’d tried to reason with him but Pharma at first wouldn’t let up. To Tarn, he seemed bright, full of hope and passion. Optimism but also a hidden dark side of him. It took him a moment or two to realize whom this medic really was--he knew him from back at the Institute. For now, he left the thought to his own devices. Pharma was drowning in sorrow over someone and Tarn could feel it. Most of his manipulation tactics wouldn’t quite work here.
Gritting his dentae under his harrowing and haunting mask, his Voice fluttered to life and began speaking to Pharma in his abilities. Grasping harshly onto his spark, plucking at those weakened yet stubborn strings. The medic clutched himself as Tarn explained himself. Tarn spoke words of a contract, an agreement, that he would leave Delphi alone and protect it if he followed the rules of this agreement even with a traitorous bastard under his watch. He was pardoned only if the rules were obeyed.
Pharma agreed and Tarn let go of his spark immediately and knelt in front of Tarn on a bent knee, solidifying their agreement.
For a while Tarn left Pharma alone till the time where the T-cog delivery would roll around. At first, he kept to his small quota. Happy with their exchange, Delphi was kept safe and not molested by the DJD.
The first fuck up that was made angered the Decepticon. Tarn had lashed out at Pharma. Threatening words left his vocalizer. Servos damaged the medic’s frame while his Voice grabbed at that blue spark before releasing him in an act of mercy. Leaving him bloodied and sobbing--to leave him be to hobble back in whatever fashion back to Delphi to fix himself up.
It only happened a few times till Pharma learned. A few minor slipups would irritate Tarn but he kept his mercy to the medic and instead kept lashing back out on the Autobots in the mines instead to help assist in keeping that quota up.
It would take time for Tarn realize that Pharma wasn’t so different than him that he almost started feeling something.
There was one spell where the mines had gone quiet and no way for Pharma to keep up with their agreement. Even if Tarn didn’t need that many T-cogs at a time, he couldn’t back down from their agreement or mend some of the rules. Presented with only a few, Tarn was visually seeping with anger and frustration but decided to back off. No words. No actions against Pharma. Nothing. Just utter silence for a while in a seemingly backed off way. What was he feeling? Who knew anyways. Most of his time had been much too preoccupied with being off world and being much too busy with other things than a quota for now.
When they’d meet again to see the newly added T-cogs, Tarn never brought any of it up and kept strictly to business. Quiet and mysterious than at first. Perhaps a bit of a hidden passion was thrown here and there. A bit more of his true self would be shown. That would especially happen when his cogs had to be replaced. Unbeknownst to Tarn, medics caught on a lot more than he’d realize. the universe known torturer had become rather quiet in his actions and kept mostly to himself from then forward. something no one ever experienced except for his crew.
A few small events tried to damage Delphi but not from Tarn and the DJD and Tarn kept to his promises of protecting Delphi. Not that the others of Delphi knew anyways. Invaders had tried to come onto Messatine and Tarn was always quick to extinguish said problems.
Tarn caught a glimpse or two of the CMO flying ahead after exterminating said problems. Bloodied and damaged, he’d disappear with his trophies or by himself back to the Tyranny or their secret base on the planet’s surface. Thing is, he assumed that by now that Pharma figured out that the Decepticon truly wasn’t as terrible as he let on to be at first. to do all of these things, to show acts of mercy, and to even keep the planet safe even if they shared said planet.
Conclusion:
The ‘main’ reason I cannot understand this alleged relationship between Fuwa and Naki (and esp not that scene, I’m sorry, but what exactly did humans do to justify that?) is that they never seem to care about each other unless forced to interact.
Neither ever mentions the other, neither ever has any tacit indications that they’re thinking of the other or mention them at all. They don’t seem to remember the other person exists unless they are literally standing in front of them for some reason. Fuwa doesn’t seem at all concerned about Naki, doesn’t mention them, doesn’t ask about them. When the Ark raises and they only see Horobi and Jin, there’s no moment of him demanding if Naki’s okay, what happened to Naki. He never tries to seek them out. Likewise, there’s absolutely no indication of Fuwa having any effect on Naki. They don’t react to seeing the Ark giving them a wolf Key (which, after this development, there are so many connotations about that I hate), they don’t refer to him when facing Gai, they don’t seek him out. There’s no indication that he effected them at all or has any influence over them, esp not enough to counter the Ark’s power. When doubting the Ark, when talking to Jin, they don’t mention Fuwa at all. Fuwa doesn’t mention Naki to Ai-chan, as far as I can remember, nor does he ever specifically bring them up when discussing the chip unless someone else did first. Like, obviously neither would be talking about the other all the time, but the complete lack of interest makes That scene and the show’s repeated attempts to claim they are connected feel very empty and impersonal.
Meanwhile, in contrast, we have Fuwa and Horobi. Fuwa spent the majority of the first arc w/ a grudge against Horobi, and Horobi, while largely pompous and disregarding, seemed aware Fuwa’s existence outside of direct interaction. And on top of that, they spent all that time in the basement together, interacting. Fuwa was the only one Horobi saw, Fuwa talked about Horobi to other people, shot down Aruto’s suggestion to destroy him, confronted Yua about his restarting. When Horobi escaped, Fuwa pursued him.
Like… If they had given any other indication of either of them having any effect on each other outside of the times that ‘required’ them to interact (Naki’s one ep long ‘arc,’ when they were separated, Yua taking them to see him in the hospital), then this wouldn’t feel so weird to me. But it’s just like Yua and Jin. Two characters who give not even tacit indications that they’re connected suddenly being treated like they have some deep relationship.
I have other issues, namely the fact that Naki doesn’t feel like a character anymore, they feel like a device (excuse me while I go vomit bc I’m pretty sure I called that their ending is going to be them being reduced to Fuwa’s ‘Izu’ and I’m just… Just… No.). In the same way Williamson really should just have been Gai, Naki feels like they got wedged into a plot that was originally Horobi’s, for similar but opposite reasons—Williamson was wedged in to fill a space left by an abrupt attempt to redeem Gai, while Naki feels like they got wedged into this plot w/ Fuwa due to the abrupt attempt to make Horobi the bad guy. The unfortunate fact about this unfortunately accurate (for me) comparison is that Naki is so much more interesting than Williamson, it’s like… Painful. Oh my gods. Why is he even here.
But again, the above could have easily been mitigated (like, I’d still be salty bc, hello, die-hard Horobi and Fuwa fan, but that’s me) if, like… Naki and Fuwa had actually acted like they meant something to each other in some way. The lack of that is what makes me feel like I’m being dryly informed of their ‘relationship’ second hand, or at a distance. There’s a disconnect. Like w/ Jin and Yua, the actors give it their all, but they just can’t close the gap.
Alternatively, if Takahashi weren’t absolute shit at writing and developing multiple relationships, we could have had a cool thing about Fuwa being the focal point of realisation for two of the most fragile characters—I would have loved to see Naki get that boost of not being a tool, and then it being them who ultimately gets through to Yua, and that’s part of what prompts her to help mbjr separate them from Fuwa (this would be helped by, like, actually treating that as a thing… Literally the chip plot being expanded would have helped everything so much). I’ve said before I see Naki and Horobi as having been in different situations, w/ them being externally ‘conditioned’ and him being literally ‘controlled’ from w/in. Them recovering quicker and being able to move on would have made sense, Horobi was always going to be a long term project (which it seems humans were ultimately unwilling to commit to…). Following through on the ‘protect Vulcan’ plot w/ Horobi dealing w/ Fuwa and Naki being connected and/or separated, differentiating between them while they deal w/ their situation… I could totally have gone for that.
But instead, there’s this weird thing where all of Fuwa and Horobi’s development is treated like it never happened, and even though Fuwa and Naki hardly interact and show absolutely no lasting interest in each other unless required to do so, they’re apparently deeply connected and have effected each other.
It’s one of those things where Takahashi starts interesting… But then can’t follow through.
#Firebird Opinions#Firebird Negativity#not spoilers bc I am not addressing that scene in detail bc it makes my head hurt w/ how over the top and ooc it was#also… just… reducing Naki to Fuwa' 'Izu'#I've gone over w/ my issues of how Izu was treated#and esp w/ how everything has been going#it feels very much like Naki will be right back where we saw them at the start of Project Thouser#except it will be 'okay' bc it's 'Fuwa'#…#yeah no sorry#anyway this is the main reason why I just can't believe Fuwa and Naki as close at all#ESP not as anything that'd be comparable to Jin and Horobi or Subaru and Raiden or Aruto and Izu#all three of those relationships had clear connections they are aware of each other#like it was clear how they effected each other even when they weren't necessarily together#Naki and Fuwa again I just feel like I'm being told w/ no backup or evidence#which sucks bc Nakayama's a legend and Naki IS interesting#and I wish they'd been given more to do than… I dunno 'be a victim'#they don't really feel like they had a further part in mbjr#did they make the ZetsumeRisers?#like most of mbjr and Yua we literally know next to nothing about them#Horobi has an advantage in that front bc he's been in the show since the start despite Takahashi#Raiden his past was literally part of his introduction for all it was never ecplored#Naki feels even LESS utilised#which is a large part of why I struggle so much to connect w/ them and… to care in some ways#why do I care about this random new person when characters who have been there since the start are so under used?#anyway#I wanted to get this off my chest bc I know it'll be weighing on me over the course of the week#as I see#well 'see' I have had to filter Naki's tag again bc nope not looking at that scene#people talk about it
How does the story work out since you have multiple Yuus?
Not me including my new Yuu in this-
So, I have each Yuu have a chapter where they are the main (also helps towards their shipping but details; note all Yuus are present for the chapters but one is the focus)
Heartslabyul Chapter
Yuuto's highlight chapter, getting to know ADeuce and the beginning of the story since he is my "main" Yuu. Also helps he's shipped with Deuce. While he has no memory of Yua he has memories of a person he used to know who was bound by her family to be who they wanted her to be (Aka Yua by her parents) so he wants to help Riddle (also would be very Yuu-Ken ish)
Savanaclaw Chapter
Lacie's highlight chapter, the one who would fight Savanaclaw students and the one who would most want to play magishift. She's shipped with Lilia. It's also where they first meet and have their "zing" moment when they meet eyes when Lilia is upside down in front of her. He instantly sees Leah in her while Lacie doesn't remember Lilia but knows he feels familiar to her. She is the reason they got Diasomnia's help so quickly due to Lilia wanting to help her. Lacie is also the black sheep of her family so she empathizes with Leona.
Octavinelle Chapter
Kagero's highlight chapter, he is a protector through and through. So even though he acts like the duo annoy him he'll do anything to help them. I also find it hilarious thinking the monotone Kagero raising hell for Leona to deal with until he gives in. Kagero can empathize with Azul and not wanting anyone to know his past (Kagero himself is trans).
Scarabia Chapter
Makaio's highlight chapter, the other light hearted "royal" (he and his brother are future village chiefs) so he and Kalim get along. Ironically he understands Jamil a lot. Age wise Kainalu should be chief. Skill wise Makaoi should be chief. Their mother has often told him that he should step back and support his brother instead (to help the village more)
Pomefiore Chapter
Pyxis' highlight chapter, theater kid himself is only fitting. He's the best singer of my Yuus so even if he's not included he wants to be as close as possible. He gets Vil. Pyxis doesn't even use his real name in twisted wonderland, it's the name of the character he was playing in the play he was in when he entered twst. So he's only known by his "role", he's just the "princely dork" nothing more. He's just "comedic relief". Pyxis is also shipped with Neige.
Ignihyde Chapter
New Yuu "Doll"'s highlight chapter. When they first arrived in twst Crowley thought they were an overblot creature because of their doll like body... Oh and the fact that they didn't have a head. They actually use various different doll heads. They have no memories of who they were, not even the faintest dreams (like Yuuto). They understand Ortho, or can give Idia an insight into it. A being "brought back to life", do they have a soul? Are they alive? Just because they are told they are someone does that make them them? How much do memories influence the self? They are also taken into the experiment because they are believed to be connected to the overblot monsters.
Let me have it.
Mifune spoke with such calm confidence that Yua found baffling in this moment. Perhaps because for the first time in her life she couldn’t express that same confidence.
For once, she was afraid.
“I have a…” she wanted to say ‘problem’ , but that was too incomplete a word to explain her situation. “Perhaps it would be best if i explain who i’ve brought with me first.”
Her eyes shifted to Sakumo, and she couldn’t help but notice that Kakashi’s eyes were examining the room. Taking in every little detail he could see. It brought a small smile to her face in these confusing times, seeing that her son was still able to be curious even when their future was so very uncertain.
Returning her gaze to her friend, she straightened herself up and took in a calming breath. “Mifune, this is Hatake Sakumo,”she gestured towards Sakumo who offered a half smile as he held Kakashi close to his body. “He is- a shinobi. From the land of Fire.”
To leave it at that would be too little. It was her job, after all, to stop shinobi from entering their land. A job she took pride in.
Mifune needed to know exactly why she let this Shinobi in. He deserved to know.
“The boy in his arms,” she waved towards Kakashi. “Is Kakashi, m-“ her voice wavered for a moment before she gathered her emotions back under her control. “my son.”
Yua was, simply put, very desperate.
She couldn’t turn to her family in this instant because their reaction would be the exact same as the first time they met Sakumo. No, it would be worse because now there was a child in the mix. They would be furious and her attempts at finding help with them would only end in screaming and more hurt.
A hurt that she couldn’t live through again. Not when she’d already turned her back to her lover and her child once.
There was only one person she could turn to in this moment, which is why she found herself in Tatomi village staring at the door to her old friend’s home.
“Yua?” Sakumo spoke softly, well aware of his questionable position within the boarders of the Land of Iron. “Are you sure?”
She wasn’t. She couldn’t be sure of anything when she was willfully going against the beliefs she was taught to adhere to under all costs, all for the meager hope that her lover and child would be allowed to find a home her.
A home where she could finally be a part of their lives.
“I can trust him,” she answered with unwavering confidence. “If there’s anyone in this world I can trust, it’s Mifune.”
With that thought, she lifted a hand, knocked on the door, and waited with baited breath to see what. Her fate would be.
It was after dark. The days were short in the Land of Iron, but as the seasons crept closer to winter, they grew shorter and shorter. Thus when Mifune retired for his two week break in Tatomi Village, he anticipated calm times.
San had gone home. Mifune was not a difficult master to look after, being a military man, and she had earlier days than usual during his weeks off. She had a grandson to look after as well, and since Mifune only wished for her to look after the minimal cleaning and stocking of the kitchen, most time she only did once overs of the house before bidding Mifune a good day.
Mifune had been polishing his blade, beating the residual dust off, when he heard a knock at the door.
Did one of the neighbors come for a visit?
He opened it, looking out into the dark. The entryway was lit by a single lantern, and he was thoroughly surprised by who he saw in the doorway. He might have mistaken it for a social call.
But Yua had someone with her. A man, and a child.
Her expression spoke volumes. She said with her eyes what she didn't need to say out loud. I need your help. His surprise shifted to quick acceptance, and he nodded, standing aside. "Come in."
The sword would be left in his room. He instead led his old friend and her companions into the sitting room, refreshing the stove with firewood, before putting a kettle of water to boil. Once it steamed through the spout, he prepared genmaichia, full bodied and warm, and set it at the table. All of this was carried out in efficient, calm silence.
"Well." He sighed. "I suppose there's something you need my help with. Let me have it sempai."
I am listening to nugu/nuguish groups entire discographies and I want to make a post detailing my opinions on each (I already liked a lot of these groups songs so I’m just re-listening to their discographies for some of these)
I may make another one of these
ELRIS
I really enjoyed everything Elris has released especially their debut EP. You and I really stands out to me on that EP. Also their “Elris? Here I am!” Thing is so cute I could put a hole through my wall. I really like how they have different music but it all sounds very ‘Elris’ if that makes sense? I will definitely be following along with them granted they are let out of the basement. Would enjoy another cute concept from them
NATURE
I actually don’t know much about Nature girlies but they all have gorgeous voices. Like literally perfect for ballads (which must be why they have quite a few lol) there’s one blemish on their discography imo like I genuinely couldn’t finish listening to the song because it was so awful. One song is no big deal tho because they certainly made up for it with the rest of their music. I kinda wish they were more solid with visual concepts for their albums. Their single album ‘Nature World : Code M’ feels very Nature to me in visuals and music and I love that sort of concept. Idk maybe I’m just not good at spotting and naming concepts lol.
Also their music videos are so good as well. I’m really glad they recently had this comeback because I was really worried disbandment was knocking on their door. Also I think they have some of the best B-sides out there, especially their ‘Park in the Night’ series I own all three albums in the series I love it so much.
For you, I'll Stay : Pt.2
Tumblr media
Dabi is one of the top soldiers of the League of Villains. He does the dirty work and feels the stain of crime on his hands. You're an Assistant Inspector at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, resigned to records-keeping instead of doing actual fieldwork. What happens when these two become intertwined in the most prominent political event that changed the era of 1990's Tokyo Japan?
Warnings: Violence (a girl gets beat up in this chapter), gangs, eventual smut(not in this chapter tho)
Btw, in this dabi doesn't have any scars on his face!
Azabu Gardens,
Moto-Azabu 3-7-5 Minato-ku, Tokyo 106-0046.
January 9, 1990, Tuesday.
The League
20:00 hours
The first rays of the morning began to creep into the premises of their mansion, illuminating the entirety of their eight-hectare complex. The lawn had been freshly mowed and the foyer had been polished to sparkling clean, as per the orders of their leader. It had been his first order of business during the general assembly with the entire brotherhood.
The soldiers were understandably taken aback at hearing him rattle off a list of things to do which were, in essence, house chores. From checking the car engines, laundering their clothes, and stocking up on groceries, the loyal members followed everything down to the very last detail, albeit with a little curiosity as to why they were doing this when they were supposed to be preparing for a major operation set later in the day.
Meanwhile the boss carried out everything as if it was business as usual. They had convened at their usual 10:00 am meeting at the solarium, exchanging data and intel regarding any updates on their framework's current phase. After making sure that everything was in order–from the time it would take to execute the operation to the time it would take for the police to arrive on scene, they called it a day and retired to their own rooms.
That was this morning.
Preparations were over and it was almost nearing midnight–time to start the show.
Everyone had gotten dressed in the same all-black attire, distinguished only by the formality of their suit and quality of the fabric. The leader had worn a two-piece suit, while the soldiers only had lightweight turtlenecks to pair with their slacks.
The cars were ready by the driveway, it's trunks loaded with a series of guns, masks and the deactivate system; and everyone had lined up at the foyer, at the foot of the grand staircase, awaiting the greeting and instructions of their boss.
"Good evening gentlemen," his voice didn't have that booming quality that most of his leaders had, but the clarity of his diction and richness of his timbre proved sufficient to command everyone's attention. He didn't need any of the pomp or fanfare that was usually associated with the league–his presence alone was enough.
There weren't many of them tonight, it was a small operation that needed only seven of their best men; even so, his under-boss, and the rest of his soldiers were waiting with bated breath at what he was about to say.
Finally standing by the newel post, he slowly slips on his leather gloves and begins to address their small unit.
"A rundown Kurogiri," he instructs his under-boss, with not so much as a glance spared his way.
"Today we initiate phase 2.1 of our framework," Kurogiri steps out of the line and proceeds to hand out a file on their operation and walkie-talkies to the soldiers. "Team A, Touya and Atsuhiro, will take care of the decoy. Team B, Himiko and Jin, will secure the target. Team C, Magne and Spinner, will deactivate the sensors and tip the police," he finishes, working his way back to his position beside their leader.
Tomura looks at him with a quirked eyebrow, expectant.
Kurogiri clears his throat. "Phase 2.2 of the framework will begin immediately after."
21:30 hrs.
As soon as Kurogiri parked the car in an empty lot two blocks from the site, he turned on their linked communication system and radioed to their leader that they were ready.
"Masks and Positions," Tomura instructed."Remember, one slip up will cost the entire operation."
Save for the thrumming of the engine, their leaders voice was the only thing that had cut through the nights silence.
"Yep, Tomura everyone is positioned," Kurogiri confirms, and signals to Team A that they were good to go.
As soon as they were given the signal, Touya and Atsuhiro make their way to the site, with the latter updating Tomura about their position. "Currently making my way into the Takahashi Residence along with Touya."
As they stopped to confirm that it was indeed the residence of the Minister of National Defence, their leader warns, "Keep an eye out for the security Atsuhiro," both soldiers nod their assent, replying that they located a blind spot in the houses security system and private guards.
After signalling Team B to follow, Kurogiri had set up operations control with Magne and Spinner. Just as they had gotten access into the house's security system, Tomura radios, "Kurogiri, do you copy?"
"Yes, I copy," the under-boss replies, holding the walkie-talkie in one hand and the other sifting through the nights operation file.
"Do you have a visual on the Minister and his wife?" Tomura  asks.
"Yes," he turns around to look at Magne and Spinners surveillance feed, which was focused on the master bedroom.
"They're currently separated from the decoy."
"Good." Tomura  affirms. "Magne, when Atsuhiro, Touya, Jin and Himiko are in place you'll override the security system, understand?"
"Understood!" the soldier nods while simultaneously preparing all the codes needed to deactivate the system.
"Once Touya and Atsuhiro take care of the decoy, that's when Himiko and Jin will go and search for the target," Tomura reminds, looking over at his copy of the operation file as well.
"Spinner, monitor all frequencies from a two-kilometre radius of the site. If anyone reports anything before we do then I want to hear it. If anyone is even in the middle of dialling a government or police number, I want to be the first to know, understood?"
"Gotcha boss," Spinner confirms. "The hacking system is ready to go, all lines within a two-kilometre radius is tapped as well."
21:42 hours.
After a preliminary entry into the estate, the four soldiers settle in their own entry points and radio back. "Spinner, we're in place, you can drop the security."
"Alright. You have a little over thirty minutes before the back-up security kicks in," the enthusiastic man programmes a few codes and counts backwards, "it's down in...5, 4, 3, 2, 1."
"Go." A deep voice follows, alerting the four soldiers on-site.
For a second, Team A and B thought it has been their leader who had addressed them, but immediately broke out into grins when the voice followed with, "Be careful in there guys."
''Don't worry, Kurogiri." Jin  assures, giving Himiko, Atsuhiro and Touya a thumbs up. "We've got this"
The four soldiers discreetly jump over the deactivated sensors and immediately break into action, disarming the guards and eventually knocking them unconscious by landing considerably hard blows to their neck, causing their head to snap to the side.
After slipping past the unconscious guards, Atsuhiro and Touya pry open one of the windows, climbing in quietly while Himiko and Jin wait outside.
Team A immediately proceeds to the target's room, bolting the maid's quarters from the outside after unfortunately having to knock her out as well.
The two check their copy of the house's floor plan, with Touya sending a glance to Atsuhiro before slowly opening the door into one of the mansion's bedrooms.
In the room sat 18-year old Takahashi Yua. with her back facing Atsuhiro and Touya slowly the boys made their way to her and in mere seconds Atsuhiro had his hands over Yua's mouth and held her in place.
The shocked girl could do nothing but try to thrash around and scream for help but Touya tied her hands and gagged her.
Touya then raised a fist, about to hit the girl before he was quickly stopped by Atsuhiro "Dabi, not here, let's take it outside. "
Nodding in agreement, Touya helped Atsuhiro drag the silently sobbing girl back outside from where they came from, leading to the back of the house and into the garage.
Seeing Touya and Atsuhiro leave with Yua allowed Himiko and Jin to make their way inside and find their operations primary objective, leaving Team A to deal with the girl.
"Compress, take off the gag," Touya instructed, to which Atsuhiro nodded and quickly removed the bundle of cloth that had been choking the girl.
As soon as it had been done, Touya struck her across the cheek with a force that pushed her backwards. It was a strong enough blow to leave an angry bruise but not enough to knock her out completely.
After taking stock of her figure-from her laboured breathing to her split lower lip, he delivers a few more punches to her torso and a last strike across her face. All the while, Atsuhiro hands had snaked around her arms. keeping her in place.
Finally, Touya pulled out a handkerchief that had been previously doused in ether.
He pressed it firmly to her mouth and nose. forcing her to inhale the substance which quickly knocked her out.
"Hey, you guys done in here?" Himiko skipped into the parking lot, "We've got the stuff."
"Yeah," Touya pockets the handkerchief and watches as Yua unceremoniously slumps to the floor with a dull thud.
"We're done." he drags her body to the main entrance of the parking lot, ensuring that she would be the first thing to be seen by anyone coming through the garage's main door.
"You're too brutish Touya." Atsuhiro grimaces at the bruised girl crumpled in the corner.
"Whatever, someone make the signal, we're done here." Touya gets up to leave.
23:00 hrs.
"Magne. I got a call from the other guys." their leader radios from where he was keeping sentinel of the entire operation.
"They're all clear, make the call."
"Got it boss, making the call now."
Magne dials the number on a burner phone expecting the line to ring a couple of times before anyone answers, as expected, on the fifth ring, a woman's voice breaks through the radio silence.
"SMPA, what is your concern?" her voice was clear. but slightly unstable. when she doesn't give her a reply, she repeats her question, louder this time.
"Kidnapping" she says, evenly distributing the stress on each syllable to feign monotony. "23:00, 6 Chome-10-1 Roppongi, Minato City, Tokyo 106-6108, Japan. Takahashi Yua." Magne states calmly, while she hears rapid scribbling on the other end.
Here come the textbook reactions she thinks to herself, amused.
"who is this? Where is your intel from?" she asks, an undertone of panic lacing her voice. "Hello?" she follows up when Magne
doesn't reply—to which she settles for perching the receiver directly over his mouth to make sure it picks up her heavy breathing.
Magne waited a few moments before nally hanging up.
She radios to their leader. "Alright, the phone call is done the officer will be calling for backup soon."
After checking his watch, Tomura smirks at their record. "Keigo, you ready to receive that request for backup?" Tomura asks through his walkie-talkie.
"Yeah, on patrol near the area so I should be getting that on my frequency." he affirms, shifting to a more comfortable position on the drivers seat he had convinced his partner in advance to take a leave for their shift that night, so as to ensure that he would be able to carry out his part in the operation without any hiccups.
"I'll be first on the scene when the request for backup is made."
6 Chome-10-1 Roppongi, Minato City, Tokyo 106-6108, Japan.
The Takahashi Residence.
2:40 hours.
"Don't worry Ma'am, we'll find out who did this to your
daughter." Keigo assured the Ministers wife, pure concern flawlessly depicted in his facial expression. "We've done a preliminary search of the crime scene, we'll come back with updates as soon as we find anything conclusive."
"You had better catch that criminal, I want him in jail, my daughter is lying unconscious in a hospital!" she demands, hands coming up to cover her face as her body was enveloped in a series of sobs.
Keigo gave a curt nod and comforting pat to the woman's shoulder before turning around and getting back into his car to leave.
As he pulled out of the driveway, he immediately drove to a remote alley in the outskirts of the district, once he was assured that his location wouldn't be found, he made a call.
"Hello? Keigo?" their leader answered. ''What's your status?"
"Shigaraki, I just got back from the crime scene." he says, turning the police radio down and killing the car's engine.
"And?" their leader asks, undoubtedly expectant of his answer.
Keigo knew that his cover was especially pivotal for that night's operation—and that Tomura had made it clear with no uncertain terms that the success of this phase relied on his ability to herd the police where they wanted them to.
"The family doesn't suspect a thing They believe it was an attempted kidnapping" he says, waiting for their leader's response.
After a beat, their leader simply hums in affirmation and hangs up, It wasn't much—he knew that Tomura had always been a man of few words, but he also knew that he always meant whatever he said, with that in mind, he restarted the car and proceeded to drive back to their residence.
Azabu Gardens,
January 9, 1990, Tuesday.
The League
03:00 hours.
He had stopped at the driveway, feeling no need to actually park his car since he was sure he'd be back at the station soon enough. Besides, he needed to speak with their leader immediately.
He had successfully crossed the foyer and was about to go up
the stairs when a familiar voice calls out to him "Keigoo, you're back!" The youngest member of their group, Himiko, approaches him, grinning.
"How'd it go?"
"Went well." he shrugs off his coat, and hangs his police hat over the coat stand. "Only one problem though, can you go get Shigaraki? We need to have a group meeting"
After a few minutes, everyone who had worked on the operation had gathered at their usual dining hall, with each finding their own seat at the round table.
"Everything went well with the family." After everyone had settled in, Keigo began immediately, fingers interlaced over the single file folder resting in front of him.
"But one of my subordinates is a little too close for comfort." Keigo states, instantly gaining the others' attention.
"What's his name?" Shigaraki questioned.
"Actually, it's a woman." he opens the folder, and pulls out a headshot photo.
"Her name is Miyasaki Y/N, she's the Assistant Inspector."
"A woman cop?" Touya reached for the photo then let out a snort at the subtle smile and short haircut she sported.
"So there's no problem then?" he chuckled, throwing the photo across the table for the others to see, clearly uninterested.
"Shut up Touya, you could probably get your ass kicked by this girl." Himiko quipped, earning a sharp glare from the other boy.
"I swear to god you psycho bitch, I'm gonna—" he shifts in his seat, calling out the girl, knowing full well that the mean name would provoke her.
Just as he was about to continue to prove that no girl could possibly kick his ass, he's thoroughly cut off.
"stop bickering this is serious." Keigo interrupted. "Girl cop or not, she's a threat." he declares.
He looks at them one by one and rests a brief glance at Tomura, their leader nods at him to continue. Keigo sighs, aware that he has to set the context for the rest of the group.
He had been given this role by Tomura directly so not everyone knew just what he was doing at the station or just how important his role was in their whole framework.
"she wasn't supposed to be the one who would get the police tip."
Keigo expels a deep breath, screwing his eyes shut.
"It was supposed to be her direct senior, the only other female Inspector in the agency, she usually does overtime with Miyasaki, but she changed her schedule tonight. I don't know why." again, Keigo sighs. This time, he's slouched on the dining chair, gently massaging the bridge of his nose.
The silence that follows only aggravated his frustration with himself.
He had been counting on Usagiyama Rumi, the agency's female Inspector, who he had been assigned to follow for the past few weeks.
She had the same routine ever since he "started" at the agency—time in at 7:00 am, attend meetings and facilitate cold opens throughout the day, follow-up on interrogations or meet victim's relatives and finally, time-out at midnight.
He wasn't counting on this assistant Inspector, she was an outlier, he didn't pay much attention to her other than the times that they'd cross paths at the cafeteria or when they'd get things from their adjacent locker units. He was working in the patrol and public safety unit, she was busy with comms and records-keeping.
Nonetheless, he did know everyone's business in the agency—even if he wasn't exactly tailing each and every one of them.
He knows the case assignments, he knows who had called in late and he knows why and he even knows how their chief liked his coffee down to the number of espresso shots and percentage of sugar.
"This girl is relentless." He presses on. "I've observed her at the agency—she dedicates herself to everything she does, it's borderline obsessive, even if it is something small and unimportant" he adds the latter as an afterthought, suddenly aware of all those times she stayed overtime.
"I don't like the idea of someone like that sniffing around where we don't want them to."
On his own, he just concluded that she did overtime because she wanted to kiss ass—especially given the kind of rumours going on about her, but it only dawned on him now that perhaps she was more dedicated to the job than others painted her out to be.
"Keigo's right." Kurogiri chimed in. "We should do something about her."
Silence fell for a beat, until it stretched on for a few minutes.
Everyone had exchanged glances, they knew that after Kurogiri, their leader had to have the final say.
"I agree," finally Tomura declares.
He stands up and proceeds to stand by the French window, parting open the satin drapes.
"It's time for modications before starting phase 2.2."
"Find out why Usagiyama broke her routine. Enlist the others' help on this if you need more hands on comms." Tomura spares a glance at Magne and Spinner, at which the two people reply with nods.
"As for this new player..." their leader trails off, returning back to look at their garden and the approaching dawn.
Expectant, Keigo awaits his next orders. "I want you to keep an eye on her at the station. make sure she stays out of the way, try and befriend her if anything, I need you to throw her off our scent, okay?"
"Got it." the undercover member nods, rising from his seat.
The others follow suit, but Tomura gives follow-up instructions that stops them where they stood.
"Kurogiri, take over my 10:00 today." he announces, immediately piquing everyone's interest "Take Himiko and Jin, you'll need the extra eyes for surveillance."
After the three echo their assent, Tomura clears them, including Keigo, to leave, He adds a few reminders for Magne and Spinner to follow-up on their contracts with their current suppliers, experts and other assets before nally dismissing the two of them as well as Atsuhiro.
singled out, Touya stands by the doorway, intrigued.
"Dabi," he calls Touya by his alias, turning around to face him he then closes the distance between the two of them within five quick strides.
"I want you to pay a visit to that poor girl, make sure she's on bed rest," his voice strong and amplified by the domed ceiling and marble flooring. Touya nods. "I'll see which hospital admitted her," and moves to leave the room.
Not missing a beat. Tomura places a hand over his shoulder just as he was in the process of doing an about-turn.
"I wasn't referring to Miss. Yua.
The yiga are supposed to be scary. Why don't you make your least scariest Yiga...scary?
Oh, you guys want some serious Yiga? Alright. Let me tell you about Von's initiation to being a blademaster.
"Wait- THIS is my new threads? Hoo, it looks GOOD! Cil, help me put this on-"
Cil smacked his hand away, making him pull back. Cil had just shown him his new Blade Master attire, tempting him with the idea of rising above the ranks. Cil stood boldly next to the outfit, gesturing to it.
"It is not yours YET. You have been given favor by Master Kohga, and your skills with a bow have proved unmatched. Having said that, you have yet to be proven worthy of this attire just yet. There is one more trial."
Von snorted, hands on his hips.
"Pfft, I can handle any trial you guys throw my way. Bring it."
"The enthusiasm is appreciated. Hopefully you stick to it. Because it certainly is not easy. I remember mine wasn't. Now, allow me to issue you your task."
Cil pulled out his slate, and showed him a picture of a woman. Pretty thing, young too, no older than himself. Von whistled.
"Whoa. She's easy on the eyes, ain't she?"
Cil scoffed.
"To you, perhaps. My eyes do not wander towards females. This is Yua. She was once a pride and joy of the clan. Until she betrayed us by falling in love with a royal knight. She left in the dead of night one day, and she was recognized weeks later, seen strolling along kakariko village. Your duty is to kill her, and all who stand in your way."
"That's it? I've killed plenty."
Cil nodded, scrolling to a wall of text.
"Not her. She was the finest survivalist this clan ever knew. One of the very few selected to protect Master Kohga on a mission high up in the mountains, her abilities are nothing to scoff at. This woman has survived desert heat, molten lava, icy tundras, bear attacks, even being stomped on by Lynels. She is...stubborn. Like a roach."
Von scowled as he looked at the details. Sure, they knew about her abilities, her face and her name, but something was...missing.
"Why is some of the info crossed out?"
"It's vital information that we withheld from you. Many times, your opponent will be someone you truly do not know. Me telling you of her abilities is honestly just because I like you. Now, there are rules."
Von looked over the text, before nodding, and looking up at Cil.
"Hit me."
"One. You are on your own in this mission. If she threatens you, no one will aid you. Two. You are to be rid of her in less than twenty four hours. Three. If someone sees you, or knows what you did, they must be killed. Four. You must bring back proof of your kill. It will be presented to me."
Von cocked his head.
"Proof? Like what?"
"Oh anything really. Teeth, nails, bloody cloth. Hell, I've had someone bring me their whole head once. The more...extreme the gift, the more your devotion to the clan. Now, one final thing. I...shouldn't mention this, but as I said, I favor you."
Cil, despite being only an inch taller, loomed over Von, shoulders tensed, and voice deep.
"If you fail. Master Kohga shall punish you. This is a very high risk, high reward test. It will hurt. You will suffer. You need to pass. No matter what."
There was a moment of silence, before Cil regained his composure. He offered his hand to him, voice lower and serious as it's ever been.
"You may walk away and refuse this test. But if you shake my hand, there is no turning back."
Von thought about it. He had spent so long with the yiga, training, fighting, belonging to his family. This was his home. And like a son wanting to please his father, he wanted to do all he could to earn his keep. He nodded, grabbing Cil's hand firmly.
"I accept this test."
------------------------
Night had fallen on the humble little village. the crickets chirped, the fireflies painted the air with their soft light. It was a peaceful night, and the air felt cool against his hot frame. It was welcomed, given how hard he was sweating. He was hiding in a tree, looking in the window of his target. Cil said he just had to kill her, and the method itself wasn't important. So, he pulled out his bow, and just when he was about to fire, someone stepped in. A man. One who wrapped his arms around her. Von could hear them from outside, given the open window.
"So, when are we going to tell your family?"
"I dunno, maybe next week? I'm not especially in a hurry."
She laughed when he kissed her cheek, and Von only now realized that this was her husband. The one who forced her into this life.
"Look, I'm just excited! I want them to be too. We've been trying for months, case you've forgotten."
She patted his cheek affectionately. There was real love in her eyes for him, he could see it.
"I know, I know. And every second was worth it. It's just...new. I mean not everyday I wake up-"
She went silent. He noticed it, and gently nudged her shoulder.
"Honey? Honey what's wrong?"
Then her eyes locked right onto him.
"MOVE!!"
He fired, only to miss when she pulled them down. Dammit. She was gonna make this difficult. He put the bow back on his back, before jumping into the window. He grabbed the table, throwing it to the side in order to block the door. Not entirely, but it'd be enough to buy him a few seconds, should they escape out the front door. He heard a clamoring upstairs, and knew they were aiming for the window. He dashed upstairs quickly, and caught him sitting at the windowsill, looking at him with big, fearful eyes. Von armed himself, and aimed right for his eyes.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!!"
Just then, she slammed into him with her shoulder, nearly sending him down the stairs. He was about to return the favor, when suddenly he charged at him, slamming him into the wall. He was a fairly bigger man than he was, and he wasn't afraid to show it. He was about to throw a punch, when Von leaned his head back, and headbutted him. He staggered back with a cry, but Von didn't have time to recover. Not when she leapt at him, using a knife to stab and slice at his skin. He felt himself bleed. He let it happen. Why?
So she'd get confident. So confident, she slashed wildly, without resolve. She thought she had Von in a corner, with her husband about to rush him. Only, Von had one thing going for him. Timing. She ran at him, determined to jab him right in his mask, but he grabbed her hand, and forced it to the side. Just in time for it to be lodged in his throat. The movement went still as blood purged from his neck, splattering over his mask, and her horrified, once pleasant face.
"BOTAN!! BOTAN!!!!!!"
She cried. Von grabbed him, and threw the fresh corpse onto her, sending her to the floor with his massive weight. He took out his Vicious Sickle, walking towards her. The blood was thick on the hardwood floor, and it warmed his feet upon stepping over it. She scrambled, pushing herself off of her husband's body. It was odd, seeing her eyes. Hurt, care, fear, all blended into one. She knew she had to push the body away, but her heart longed to hold onto him. She looked at Von, frantically scrambling as she tried to get away from him.
"No no no, please- I left for good reason! You can't do this!"
She was scared, but she was quick. She moved and dodged his attacks, scrambling into another room. He smelled himself trailing the blood behind.
"Don't you run from me."
He didn't care about her words. Only cared about his mission, his family. She finally stopped when her back hit the wall. She knew she was stuck. The grip on the clothed handle had never been tighter. She stared up at him, shaking her head wildly.
"No-no, I know the rules, I know you're using me for initiation, but you can't!"
He lifted the blade over his head, about to strike. Then lightening struck, just outside. The sharp light illuminated the room. A crib. Baby toys. Little ducks painted on the walls. And her bulging stomach. His grip loosened.
"You're pregnant."
"Y-yes. We got pregnant a-and you can't hurt my babies. Please. Please. Just say you killed me, take one of his organs for proof! I'll properly bury him after and I'll leave! Far away from the village! Out of Hyrule even! Please! Please I'm BEGGING you! Have mercy on me!"
She wanted to survive. No longer for herself, but for the child growing inside of her. It'd be possible to follow her plan. To just let it melt away, to spare her firstborn. The lightening crashed again, and he could see his reflection in her eyes. Coated in blood, in cuts, armed with a blade sharp as the tension in this room. He was a monster. A beast. The kind people would warn their children over. He was terrifying. He was predator, she was pray.
But he was also someone who cared for his family.
"You will pay the price. I will take your life. For the clan."
She braced herself with her hands, but it did nothing. He sliced her neck, same as his. And he sliced, and he sliced, and he sliced. He cut up her neck, her chest, her face, her arms. Anything that was in reach, he slashed. It wasn't until the thrashing stopped, that he decided enough was enough. No more sounds of wet flesh, the feeling of hot air expelling from her upon him forcing her open. No more pain in his ears from her screaming and pleading. He stood above his mess. Eyes still opened amidst a dark pool of blood, as if asking him why. He knew why. For the clan. For his home. The family that took him in when no one wanted him to.
"Now. What to take for the clan. The more extreme of a gift?...."
He knew what was the gift. He used his blade, and tore through her thin clothes. Then, her belly. Skinning her like a fish, he dug, sliced. Destroyed all that was in his way. Until he found it. Being born in treachery and disloyalty. He pulled it from its bloody home, and tossed it in a sack, throwing it over his shoulder. It felt hot on his back, and it was dripping through the material. He looked at the mess in front of him, scoffing.
"I'm sorry. But my family is more important than yours."
He looked down at the wound over himself. He wouldn't die, but it certainly didn't feel good. Didn't matter. This, no longer mattered.
----------------------------
"So when will he re-oh my Ganon, Von!"
Sooga, uncharacteristically showing a display of kindness, dove in to help Von into a seat as he saw him come in. Von groaned as he set grabbed his ever bleeding wounds.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. Just get me some bandages. It's mostly my arm. Though...might have one or two in the chest area."
Sooga nodded. He glared at Cil for a second, before quickly walking out of the room. Cil stared at him, before chuckling.
"Weird. Usually he'd be fairly aloof. Think he's getting too soft for this. So. How'd you do?"
Von looked at his bloodied hand, before looking at Cil.
"You knew she was pregnant, didn't you?"
Von shrugged, adjusting his hair for a moment.
"So if I did. What of it?"
"Why did you hide it?"
"I didn't want you to chicken out on me. If I told you she was, you'd hesitate, and possibly fail. I didn't want that. It's also why I didn't mention her husband was a rather...big fellow. Given the bruise, I can tell you gathered that."
"Yeah. Wasn't a welcome party, for sure."
Von groaned as he looked at his bloodied hand. It was starting to become thick, cold.
"Von?"
"What?"
"You didn't...cheat, did you?"
"What?"
Cil walked over to him, arms folded over his chest.
"Did you cheat. Is what's in this bag hers...or his?"
Von recalled her offer. Even if he took it, Cil would know. He had been doing this for a long time, it'd only make sense that he'd seen all the tricks. The lack of response made Cil bash his fist on the table.
"YOU DID. YOU CHEATED!"
"NO, I DIDN'T!!!"
Von leapt up from his seat, grabbing the bag, and shoving it in his arms. Cil opened it, and he paused.
"....I've been through many tests. But this...is the first time I've seen this. Von?"
"...what?"
"You'd do anything for this clan, won't you?"
Von nodded, brow furrowed and stance steady.
"I would. I'd do it all over again for this family. I don't...want to. But I will. I'll do whatever it takes to be important here."
Cil stared at him, before suddenly laughing, wrapping an arm around his neck.
"Music to my ears! Well done, Von. Kohga gets the final say, but I can personally guarantee that you passed with flying colors. Mostly red. But you should feel MUCH pride."
Von thought about it. Looked at the bloodied bag in his hands. And he realized something.
He did. He DID feel a lot of pride. He proved himself to his family. They wouldn't ever leave him.
"Papa!" To anyone else whose saw Chisaki pn that specific moment, they would think that he had an annoyed look towards the little girl running after him. But not even his wife could spot the smile and the fondness at the girl whose attached to his leg.
"Hey brat. Your mother got tired of you already?" He asked in a nonchantly tone but ruffled the dark brow hair his daughter had, messing the pigtails she was wearing as she scolded.
"Papa no! My hair!" She whined as she, with a pout on her lips, took off the hair bows. Giggling at when Chisaki messed her hair with two of his gloved hands now.
"Mama!" She squealed your name out loud while giggling, going to you and being picked up as she showed her tongue to her father who's wonky arched one eyebrow at her childishness.
"Cant anyone of you take a break on getting onto each other's nerves?" You giggled as Yua mumbled in a pout that if her dad attacked then she would do the same.
"You cant complain since she got your attitude." He sighed as if it wa a bother, but you knew exactly how much your husband held pure love and affection towards that little smart little girl.
That's what her name was about...binding love and affection. Chisaki himself chose the name after Yua was born.
"Did you told tell daddy what we are doing today?" You put Yua down as she gasped.
"Girls day!!!" She extended her arms open as Kai only raised an eyebrow again.
"We will go shopping, just that." You giggled "Yua needs some new clothes anyway, and she was begging me to take her to enjoy some new strawberry flavored ice cream or something." You sighed. "Wanna come with us honey?"
"No. Papa cant go, is only girls night mama." Yua spoke nonchantly as you gasped preparing to lecture her but Chisaki beated you on that.
"Can't deny that I was wounded by this brat words but I have work to do anyways." He sighed with crossed arms and closed eyes, opening them a bit when he felt his daughter hug his legs and tugging on his jacket.
"I'm sowwy papa..." her golden eyes locked with his as he sighed and crouched down to flip her forehead, one which she learned that was one of the most affectionate things her father was able to do.
"After lunch I guess you both will be going out then?" He asked with a grunt when he got up as you nodded.
"Nemoto agreed to leave us on the shopping and pick up us both later."
"I will call uncle Nemoto right now." Nefore you or your husband could say something, Yua ran before tripping and falling on the ground... Mumbling insults towards the "Bad dirty floor" before walking away.
"She got my attitude but the rest is all "kai chisaki energy" on my opinion." You giggled as Kai chuffed.
"Wouldn't it be my daughter if she hadn't something from me. At least she knows the importance of cleaning."
"Sure. Threw a fit when Rappa dropped chips on the floor, and I thought she was going to do the same thing as you do with the poor guy."
"... That's my daughter." You laughed at the bit of pride he carried on the sentence as he chuckled and accompanied you to lunch.
.
.
.
"Yua." He called "Come here."
The said girl come in one blink of a eye, asking cutely what was it.
"There." He crouched down to show a a flower she hadn't know of.
"What flower is that Papa?"
"Is a lilie." He twirled the flower on his gloved fingers with boredoom "I gave once a rose to your mother, and now I am giving you this one simply because represents purity of the soul, innocence and intelligence. It is said, therefore, that nothing better than a lily to tell a woman that she is ideal and superior to all others.... So I am giving this one to you." He put the flower on a little box of glass and closed it, using his quirk to prevent close and pressed against the flower to not decay.
"You and your mother are above of all things and people on the world for me." He smirked at the adoration on her little golden eyes as she jumped on him to give him a hug.
"I knew it you loved us!" She squealed when he pinched her to get off of him.
"Go with your mother already you brat." He ruffled her hair with a nonchantly look as Yua stormes off "Hey put that flower on your room dont carry it everywhere you go!"
Soon you entered his office to give him your good byes and wishes of a good day. Begrudily he allowed to a simple kiss, not ever admiring how he usually craved for those as he wished a good day for you as well... jumping on a pile of work and waiting for the hour both of his girls would be back.
.
.
.
"Slow down pumpkin!" You giggled as you walked hand on hand with Yua... well, actually you were being dragged by the little girl.
"The ice cream stand will close mama if we slow down." She looked up at you with the same look Chisaki gave to you when you asked "stupid things" as he said.
"Fine fine." You picked her up with a huff before nuzzling your nose agaisnt her, making her giggle "Straberey flavor huh?"
"Yep!" She nodded "Just like daddy!"
You smiled at sign as she talked politely with the man whose was selling the ice cream.
"My my." You yelped and twirled around, scaring your daughter accidentaly without wanting "Isn't this a pretty sign my boys?"
A man with a tuxedo was surrounded by younger males as you brought your daughter closer to you as she wrapped her arms around your neck, sensing that this was not a start of a good talk.
"Is not everyday we get to see Overhaul's plaything and a failed abortion walking around." You growles at them as Yua clinged to you tighter.
"If you wouldn't mind sir. We are doing nothing to annoy you or your minor gang. So excuse me and let me and my Yua alone, will you?" You give your back to then with a huff, thanking the man and handing the ice cream to your daughter, whose was playing with the little molded flower she had just been gifted by her father.
The man took his cigarette out of his mouth with a huff. The other males staring at him expectantly before he chuckled.
"Get them."
.
.
.
"No master Overhaul. They didn't come back yet."
"Sorry man. Hadn't see them all day."
"Didn't saw (Y/n)-sama neither Yua-chan all day sir."
"I'm sorry master but (Y/n)-sama didn't called me back."
He was almost going crazy. Your phone went straight to the mail. Nemoto hadn't gotten a message for him to pick you up and Yua... Heavens what the hell happened with his wife and girl?
"Chisaki stay calm my boy. Maybe they just are enjoying some time between mother and daughter." Pops tried to calm his sucessor down, trying his nest to not freak out as well at his daughter in law and granddaughter dissapearing.
"(Y/n) is not one to turn off her phone Pops." He got up abruptly and picked his jacket and tossing over his shoulder "I will go look for then, call me if anything old man."
"Will do my boy. If anything I will send some of the guys to look after these two."
With one nod he got out, not caring if it was starting to rain...
.
.
.
"We searched the whole place Chisaki they're not here." Chrono pointed out regretfully as Kai checked his phone at each two minutes.
"If not here then where would these two would have gotten..?" He mumbled under hsi breath while walking. His phone buzzed on hsi pocket and hsi heart skipped a beat at the thought of finally being you to tell him you were okay, that Yua was okay, to hear his little blgirl chip in the phone to tell him about the walk like she usually did despites his scoldings to not interrupt his mother.
Although when he took off the phone of his pocket there was only two messages. One of Mimic and one of Pops.
Mimic
Dont come here dude... for your sake.
Pops
Kid... please come back home.
What the hell happened...?
.
.
.
The moment his car was turning on the street he braked brutally when he saw police cars parked in front of Shie Hassaikai.
"FUCK THAT BITCH KNOCKED ME WHAT WAS THAT K ... Kai ..?" when Chrono recovered from the fright of the friar he was able to see the face of his childhood friend, pale as a ghost.
Not only police cars but he had a car that he would never think of seeing in his life ... a funeral card.
He accidentaly overhauled the door of the car. Ignoring the calls of the cops and hurting one that got in his process where he was walking...
He then saw a black send toilet loaded on a table and another but much smaller ... Pops arrived at him but what he said did not make sense ... he barely knew what to do or look until he saw a little arm outside bag ... dropping something very familiar to him.
The flower he picked up. The lily he gave to his daughter ...
He let out a scary scream that even scared the police after he accidentally overhauled the guard's arm that was preventing him from passing
When he used his quirk to open the two bags and his golden eyes widened on the almost unrecognizable faces of his wife and daughter.
They broke your nose ... you was stabbed and he wanted to vomit when he heard from a coroner that you were raped ... while his poor daughter had her body burned and beaten ... also with evidence of rape.
"NO!" he cried and screamed. an act of despair when using the overhaul to at least try but the guards caught him just when he was going to use touching the dead body of his child and wife.
"LEAVE ME YOUR DISCRAFTS IS MY DAUGHTER AND MY WIFE THERE FOR GOD'S SAKE FUCK-!" He cried as Pops almost begged him to calm down while the coroners took the bodies to the funeral van and closed the doors.
The screams and cries echoing of Overhaul were able to even leave each policeman, hero dying the death of a mother and child.
.
.
.
He was sitted with his head in his hands, eyes still wide open as Pops talked with the officer.
"We will do our best to discover whose were responsible for-"
"WHAT FOR SINCE NONE OF YOU DO SHIT ON YOUR LIFES?!" he punched the wall behind him as he glared daggers at the young hero.
"Forgive my-"
"NO. DONT "forgive my son" BULLSHIT POPS! I WILL FIND MYSELF THE RESPONSIBLES AND THEY WILL FUCKING PAY FOR EVEN TOUCHING ONE FINGER ON MY WIFE! MY DAUGHTER! MY FAMILY!"
Nd with that he stormed out of the room...
.
.
.
He stood on a pile of blood soaked floor with bodies around him... the fluid of the bastards dripping from his hands and face... he panted tiredly as he kicked with enough force, to send the mafia boss's head flying to the wall of the place.
He brought his hands to see the mess he had made... sobs got stuck on his throat. Flashbacks of his daughter and wife's smiles and laughter.
His throat was sore... yet he didn't cared anymore when he shouted until he had no voice anymore...
Historian Butterfly AU: Prologueďżźďżź
Shinobu x Female OC
Chapter 1
“There were demons when I was a little girl.”
“Really Gran Gran?” A 5 year old girl looked at her great grandmother with wide blue eyes.
Her grandmother gave a dry chuckle in response as she combed her granddaughter’s hair. “Yes really. They would roam around at night and attack any humans in sight. The more people they devoured the stronger they became. They would be able to transform their bodies and some even used strange spells. I encountered them many times in my youth.”
The little girl tilted her head. “Is that why you always stay in the house when it’s night?”
“Yes, but only out of habit. Demons stopped existing long ago.”
“Why?”
“The same reason why the demons did not wipe us all out in the first place, the demon slayers. They dedicated themselves to fightifor the future of humanity. They would fight with strength beyond what humans were capable of.”
“Were you a demon slayer Gran Gran?”
The grandmother let out a hearty laugh in response. “No my dear. Even when your Gran Gran was young and chipper I lacked the strength and skill to become one. I instead chose to support the slayers on the sidelines as a kakushi. I tended to the wounded and helped with the clean up after battles.” The grandmother paused for a moment. “The Hashira on the other hand were the strongest of the strong. They could kill a demon with seemingly little effort. It’s because of their sacrifice that we are able to live peacefully today.”
“Are you filling Fukuro’s head with your stories again grandma?”
Both people looked up to see a young woman standing in the doorway.
“It’s history Yua.”
Fukuro’s eyes lit up. “Mom!” she exclaimed as she excitedly ran over to the woman, and hugged her legs.
Yua gave her daughter a smile as she lifted Fukuro up into her arms, which she was given a squeal in response. “There’s my curious little bird. Did you enjoy your Gran Gran’s stories?”
Fukuro gave her mother a bright smile. “Yep! She was telling all about the demons and demon slayers!”
Yua let out a sigh as she looked at her grandmother. “Those stories are a bit violent for a 5 year old, don’t you think grandma?”
“I'm not as young as I used to be, Yua. I don’t have much time left and Fukuro needs to learn some stories before I pass on. No offense to you or the rest of the family, but I know none of you were ever able to get the details right.” The grandmother said with a sparkle of amusement in her eyes.
Yua let out a little huff and pouted. “I still don’t understand why it’s so important for me to say flame instead of fire,” she muttered. She looked back at her daughter. “Now say goodbye to Gran Gran, Fukuro.”
“But mom, Gran Gran was about to tell me about the Hashiras! Can’t we stay a little longer? Please!” Fukuro whined, giving her mother the puppy dog eyes.
“Fukuro your Gran Gran needs to rest, and we need to get home so that I can make dinner before your father gets home tonight,” Yua said with an apologetic look on her face.
“Oh come now Yua, I can stay awake a little longer. It’s not like I’m out of this bed much any more! Besides you don’t live far and Hiroshi still has work for another 2 hours. Even if you don’t finish cooking by the time he gets home he wouldn’t mind. He’s always been a very patient man.”
“I don’t know…” Yua trailed off as she looked at her daughter’s pleading face again. She let out a sigh of defeat. “Alright, we can stay, just stop giving me that look,” she said as she gave Fukuro a playful glare, who let out a cheer. “But only one story, okay? Then we really need to get going,” she said as she walked over to her grandmother’s bedside and sat down on a chair with Fukuro in her lap. “I spoil you way too much,” she muttered as she tickled Fukuro’s stomach, who replied with a loud squeal and laugh.
The grandmother laughed at her granddaughter’s antics. “Of course Yua, of course. Now which Hashira do you want me to tell you about?”
Fukuro looked confused and looked at her mom, who let out a hum as she thought for a moment. “How about the one with the butterflies? I haven’t heard that one in a while.”
Fukuro tilted her head and looked at her grandmother. “Butterflies?”
“Ah yes! The Insect Hashira. I have the perfect story for that one. Back when I was just a teenager there I was assigned to a small village in the countryside…”
Fukuro listened attentively to her Gran Gran’s story with fascination. She was young, but she understood that many people believed that her Gran Gran was not well. But she told her stories with such detail, and they were so complex. All Fukuro knew was that she would love to listen to these stories forever.
***
Fukuro was climbing over some debris as she walked through the ruins of what seemed to be an old headquarters, base or at least a place that housed a lot of people. She was a lot older now, about 21 years old. Her long hair was pulled up in a messy ponytail and she had grown quite tall. She was wearing black cargo pants with a light brown button up coat so long that it could pass as a short dress. Her white collared shirt could barely be seen and she wore brown combat boots. Fukuro also had a large backpack on her.
A young man was also accompanying her. He was taller than Fukuro and wore a very similar outfit to her. “Are you sure you know where we are going Hitomi? We have been walking for a while?” he asked.
Currently her face was glued to a notebook as she adjusted the glasses on her face. “Don’t worry Kenta, this isn’t my first time here. According to these notes there should be some sort of room that housed the supposed king of this estate. It’s strange that I couldn’t find a single map of where anything is though. Especially since this place is so huge.
“That’s exactly why I’m worried. This place is a maze! We could get lost if we’re not careful,” Kenta said.
The ruins were very large and varied. Honestly, how little knowledge there was on a place this big was astonishing. It was almost as if no one knew it existed or that it appeared out of nowhere.
“How are you even a historian with that attitude? We research the unknown of the past. You can’t do that without risks,” Fukuro teased.
“There is nothing wrong with being cautious!” Kenta said with a pout.
Fukuro laughed before her mind wandered elsewhere. “Maybe I’ll find some old scrolls or books this time. Or maybe some of those swords I have read so much about. I might even find something that can help prove the existence of demons. Oh! Just thinking about it makes me so excited!” Fukuro said with a squeal.
“I will never understand your obsession with the possibility of demons. Those are probably just some old folk tales so that children wouldn’t stay out after dark.”
“I know, I know, but there is so much mystery surrounding them though. Even if demons aren’t real there are so many answered questions. Like what made Fujikasane Mountain and Natagumo Mountain so deadly? And what was the cause for the sudden decrease in the places’ death rates? It used to be that in both mountains more than 80% of the people who would enter would never come back. But in the late 1920s the deaths in that area just stopped. People even started inhabiting those areas with great success. Or what about-“
Fukuro was cut off as Kenta grabbed her collar and stopped her from walking straight into one of the more intact buildings.
“You’re rambling again. You haven’t been this far before right? So be careful,” he said.
Although it was not Fukuro’s first time here, the place always managed to get more dangerous the further she went. While she did not mind a little danger the thought of ruining whatever artifact she managed to find was enough to make her back out.
“You’re right, thanks Kenta. Time to put the book away. I don’t want to get hurt after all,” Fukuro said as she put the notebook in her bag. “Now come on, let’s check out this place!”
The building was very large so the two historians decided to split up. They still stayed a close enough distance to each other so that they wouldn’t get lost. While searching through one of the rooms Fukuro ended up finding some really old pieces of fabric that might have once acted as rope.
“Hey Kenta! Look what I fou-AAHH!” Fukuro’s foot ended up going through the floor, but instead of finding dirt there was just air. She only had a few seconds to process that before her entire body went through and she tumbled deep underground. “Ow, ow, ow.”
After a few minutes a light came from the hole above and Kenta’s voice rang through the area. “Hitomi! Are you okay?”
Fukuro shakily got up as she dusted herself off. “I’m fine! Just a little bruised. It seems like there is an entire part of this building that is underground!”
“Do you see a way out?”
Fukuro looked around, but it looked like she was stuck in this one room. “No!”
“Gosh darn it- Okay, I’m going to call Zoey okay? She specializes in these kinds of rescues so you should be fine! Just don’t move or do anything that will cause the place to collapse.”
“I won’t!”
After a few minutes Fukuro started to get bored so she turned on her flashlight. The structure seemed stable enough that it wouldn’t collapse so long as she didn’t mess with the walls. There really wasn’t much to the room. Years of being underground really took a toll on it. But Fukuro did see a really old biwa in the corner.
“How did a room like this even get here?” Fukuro muttered as she picked up the biwa and examined it. It was not in the greatest condition. A lot of the wood was chipped and some of the strings were broken. “I wonder if this thing still works,” she muttered as she plucked one of the strings.
Suddenly the whole place began to shake. The sounds of the biwa could be heard echoing around the room despite Fukuro having dropped the instrument out of surprise and fright.
“Oh Lord- Kenta where are you? Something’s happening!” Fukuro screamed as she started to glow. Suddenly Fukuro’s vision was filled with a bright light before everything went black.
***
I actually decided to write it. I don’t know if I’ll ever finish it, but I thought I might as well get started. Don’t be afraid to give questions, headcannon, or prompt requests related to this because there is so much I can talk about that won’t be in this story. Thank you to @shinobusupremecy for giving me encouragement. It’s all because of you that this is on the internet now. Hopefully I can incorporate some actual demon slayer stuff in the first chapter. Btw my OC’s name is Fukuro Hitomi.
