I hadn't noticed, but we are halfway through the Veronaville round! It's only taken a year. Next we have Goneril's branch of the Capps, Chloe and Nina, the Jacquets, the Summerdreams, and the all-important main branch of the Montys :D and of course I'm going to sneak in some college gameplay here and there, too.

I think when I last played I was halfway through the Capp round, so I am very excited to be nearly caught up to where I was. Perhaps I will even get to play a little this weekend :')

Since their original round wasn't finished before they moved, Bianca and Jenna scrapped together enough money via loans and gifts from Isabella and Patrizio to just barely buy the old farm. Uh. There's not much on it. The newspaper didn't have any jobs, so Jenna had to go all the way out to find a temporary job in the medical career before she can really start her own business up. Bianca decided to at least use the farm to grow some food in the meantime. They're sleeping in the old silo until they can start properly building a home.

Non-canon Veronaville things that one day someone decided and the whole fandom for some reason agreed:

- Tybalt is gay, Mercutio and Miranda are bisexual and Bianca is lesbian or a great LGBT+ supporter. Viola doesn't even exist but for some reason someone decided she's a lesbian, so she's a lesbian.

- Puck Is NB and Hermia too (or genderfluid)

- Mercutio is a raccoon.

- Kent is our lord and savior, protector of all the homosexual.

- CONTRIZIO is the real thing. The Contessa thing was a fake.

- The Summerdreams are chaotic, and they're 🌿 friends with Lazlo.

- Puck is extremely stressed.

- Romeo is short. Gnomeo.

The party ends a little awkwardly, with Chloe and Emily sharing a drunken kiss in the kitchen. No big deal though, right? They didn't have a bachelorette party with strippers or anyhting so this is like a slightly-late bachelorette freebie.

It's not like it meant anything. Like Emily would fall madly in love with somebody over one little kiss? Please. That'd be craaaaaazy.

after binging @letomills's shakespeare in veronaville series (highly recommend it's amazing!!!) i've made some shakespeare-an families for verona. first off we have the Shrew family, featuring Widow Katherina Shrew and Former-single father Shylock Levi (based on the characters from taming of the shrew and Merchant of Venice) and their shared grandchildren (they aren't married to eachother) Rosaline and Paris. both Shylock and Katherina are huge grouches who both have 0 nice points between them who hate this fake-stupid-dumb town, they are only on the Capp side of the feud for financial reasons. Paris is pursuing Juliette while Rosaline has been arranged to be married to Tybalt (even if she's a romance sim lesbian hates his guts). in addition Shylock hates Antonio with a passion (just for accuracy) while Katherina sees Bianca Monty as her sister in the world of stupid bob haircuts. lots of drama here.

Second off we have Friar Laurence, local church owner who hosts all town weddings, funerals and wedding-funeral combo gatherings. He doesn't believe in the feud (mostly bc he'd lose half his business if he took sides) and works part-time tending the public garden (which no one besides him use bc they're rich enough to have someone else but their groceries).

???: General Buzz threw Lazlo and I in some weird prison sometime ago that we were barely able to escape, and we've spent the last five days wandering around the woods...judging by how often the sun sets. Can you come pick us up?...and bring a medkit, too, if you can...

Zoya: I'm busy.

???: What could you possibly be so busy with?

Zoya: Stopping Aktu and my sister from messing with the story of Romeo and Juliette.

???: This again? Seriously? What even happens if they get their way?

Zoya: I'm...not sure. The book just changes.

???: Then what's even the point? Is...the plot of a fictional book more important than our lives? I know we've never gotten along, but I never thought you'd think that low of me.

Zoya: Hm...fine. I'll come get you. Just describe to me what you're seeing...

Tank: Zoya? Where are you going?

Zoya: Out. Nothing you need to be concerned about.

Tank: But what about Romeo and Juliette?

Zoya: ...Listen to me carefully, Tank. Sometimes there's these special people in your life, called friends.

i think its the fact OG veronaville lacks a benvolio figure? not that i'm the biggest fan of the original play or anything, nor am i the biggest fan of benvolio specifically... but with viola restored it's very easy to see viola as the benvolio, and i like the implications that come with that. both in terms of what a benvolio figure would contribute to the dynamics in veronaville, and on an individual level what it would mean for the benvolio figure to be a girl - an idea that isn't completely without basis

so anyways. veronaville having a transgender lesbian benvolio is everything to me. shes my special little princess

kind of hilarious how i didnt care about veronaville at all like even a little bit until i was exposed to the version where viola is restored as romeos sister and now suddenly im like... ah fair veronaville...
