By 👉🏻 @drliamwilson 💫 Composite veneer done this afternoon for a semi peg lateral (it wasn’t a full peg). I used Venus pearl clear shade to build up the palatal shelf using matrix strip held against the palatal surface and then clear for the interproximal areas. By 👉🏻 @drliamwilson 💫 This was a tough one! Had to remove old composite fillings and replace with new ones AND place composite veneers to improve the appearance. If you swipe though you can see the process. 1. Add some composite to gauge the new length and incisal edge shape 2. Take a putty index of the new incisal edge so we can replicate this in the final restorations 3. Remove all of the old composite fillings. By 👉🏻 @drliamwilson 💫 COMPOSITE VENEERS This is something I really enjoy. This patient had pretty severe wear for someone their age and this treatment was long overdue. We made a wax up of the teeth to check if we needed to increase in OVD (we didn’t) and to make sure we had the right dynamic occlusion. We tried it in with a mock up so the patient could see what the final result would potentially look like. We made a few adjustments and then took a putty matrix of the mock up and used this as a final template for the incisal edges of the composite build ups. For patients, this took a lot of planning to get this result and I made sure the patient was happy with the try in before we proceeded with the final restorations. This wasn’t just cosmetic. This patient had severe toothwear due to grinding and needed this kind of treatment to prevent further tooth wear. It was an opportunity to make this patient’s smile a lot better and for that I’m very proud. By 👉🏻 @drliamwilson 💫 More superb porcelain work from the technician. The main complaint was the gap that the patient had since they were a teenager. An unfortunate accident had knocked out their central incisors 🤦🏻‍♂️ and the old crowns had been there to change the shape of the lateral incisors to make them look like central incisors. After sending some impressions to the lab they produced a fantastic mock up which we tried in (see story) and the patient gave us the go-ahead.
