People have asked me what signals there are for creativity in astrology. Something I want to start with is we are all creative in our own way.There are ways to look at your creativity through your natal chart to give you a better insight. Also when I mention the word Art throughout this, this is conveying all mediums of art from drawing, painting to writing/ singing etc.

One placement that is key here is your Fifth House, as this quite literally rules over creativity. Everyones house will be different depending on the sign over the house and the planets inside, along with their degree.

My personal research is that anyone with water over this house will be naturally more creatively inclined.

Along with anyone who has the Moon or Venus here, along with Mercury also as Mercury rules over the hands.

Neptune is also a wonderful placement here also.

But once again I have to say that having different stuff over/in your fifth house doesn’t discredit someones creativity. Often they are creative in more unconventional ways or create things that are less ‘classically’ creative. 

An example of this is having Aquarius over/ Uranus in your fifth house. Often this is someone who creates art that is unusual, striking or abstract in some way. Often these people are great at modern art or creating pieces that are revolutionary or ahead of their time.

Having a strong Venus is also a good indicator of creativity also

For example…

A Taurus or Libra Venus, an exalted Pisces Venus, or your versus being well aspected.

I have seen how having a positive Venus - Moon aspect is also something that indicates creativity.

Also having a good aspect between Venus and Mercury, having our planet that rules creativity connect with our planet of communication often indicates someone will a skill at creative writing, painting, poetry or singing. They may also be good at playing at instrument that involves the fingers or hands, such as guitar or piano.

Another point in the chart I have seen have an influence is the Third House. The third house is all about communication along with learning, specifically in younger years. Having Venus, the moon or Neptune here shows a early interest in creative pursuits such as painting, drawing, acting and so forth. It also indicates someone who enjoys communication though in more creative mediums.

Something I want to note that I have observed is that though I have mentioned the ‘best placements’ for creativity I have also seen that when creative parts of the chart such as Venus or the 5th house have what is seen as ‘less than favourable’ placement such as Venus being in fall etc, this doesn’t mean this person will lack creativity. 

I could mean these creative juices are less easy to access, or perhaps that these people choose to create art that is seen an more difficult to look at, perhaps with sad themes, or art that is more controversial.

random astrology observations (pt. 1)

a significant amount of celebrities and impactful personalities have their vertex situated in the fifth house (ie gisele bundchen, meghan markle, bella hadid, victoria beckham, albert einstein, lionel messi, princess catherine, bill gates—the list goes on and on). more specifically, it seems as if many of these are individuals who are either loved by the public, or seem to have cultivated a cult-like following (ie ted bundy)

i am SO tired of the half-assed observations that continually paint pisces mercuries as unintelligent/inarticulate. this generalization actually needs to be put to rest. in fact, i believe that pisces mercury natives are brilliant writers and intellectuals! at the risk of bringing up the oft-too-referenced einstein (who is a GREAT example of this, might i add) think of maya angelou, a brilliant individual that has been widely recognized for the power and impact of her words. i believe that these natives have the keen ability to intertwine the world of imagination and the written word. this allows for emotionally poignant and widely resonant communication!

using the equal house system (from the ascendant) has allowed me to obtain a more in-depth understanding of my midheaven. whereas with placidus (where the mc is always in the 10th) and whole sign (where depending on the lateness of the degree of your ascendant the position of planets might widely shift), the equal house system divides the houses by 30 degrees beginning from the exact degree of your ascendant. to use myself as an example, in both placidus and whole signs my mc is in the 10th house. in equal, my mc is in the 9th. this extra layer of depth resonates with me because the legacy that i hope to impart onto the world (aka, the mc) exists in my philosophical works (i’m currently in a top program pursuing academic philosophy!)
