I'm sorry is Jackson Publick okay cause like
(he's talking about S6 here)
Did he just
Forget P.R.O.M and SPHINX rising? Also literally the last episode of S1?
I vary specifically remember him killing guys in those, and killing the Dean and Hank in S1 (which I count because even tho they came back he did actually kill them)
I didn’t get this until I watched the commentary for the first time.
In the show they made a couple of references that Gary didn’t actually become the scary, murdering henchman that people think he is. That’s just the reputation he created for himself by quietly letting people go or covering his tracks really well.
Doc and Jackson are really good at developing a whole universe for each character that we only see if they decide to elaborate. For example, the Morpho Mobile was NOT covered in the blood of their enemies like I, and I’m sure many other people, had assumed until the commentary clarified.
Doc says that while Gary was the cause of many deaths, he could separate himself from the actions. Now objectively, as the viewer, we know that if you release a snake into a vent after putting snake pheromones into a guy's coffee, it’s your fault if he dies from the snake bite. But Gary’s probably like “Well it wasn’t me it was the snake :)”. He killed the boys in season 1 by accident, he’s a blunderer, but he also knows they can’t die for some reason so that’s a way to justify “killing them”.
They LOVE to only show the before and after of the action. It would be very Venture Bros to have half of those guys from PROM wake up and have to call a cab home because Gary only knocked them unconscious. I don't know how Gary justifies killing the kid and the Long Division henchman. Cognitive dissonance. As a hero maybe he feels the rules are different and it's not murder if you're saving the day. Obviously, that's not true but our boy is doing some compartmentalizing lol
He can’t do that with Horangutan. It was just them, face to face, and Gary punched him so hard his head spun around.
So Gary goes back to tweaking his narrative by stashing guys in the downstairs bathroom. They seemed like they also wanted to play around with him not actually killing Wandering Spider either, but I THINK he actually did. His buried corpse was haunting Gary’s dreams. Who knows though they could explain that one away too. In the same episode, we see Gary as a babe taking credit for killing someone that died accidentally so that he could get his wings, but now the audience knows he never had the guts before.
I kind of love the confusion the audience feels because it’s almost like we’re experiencing what the people in that universe are experiencing. Especially when we see things through The Moanrch’s POV. He doesn’t find out Gary isn’t as tough as he pretended to be until season 6.
#I posted the wandering spider pages earlier than what was in the queue just so I can link it in this post.#Nicely timed ask it was due in a few hours anyway#henchman 21#ask#gary fischer#the monarch#venture bros

Mrs Wandering Spider (Villain)
“Dr Mr the Monarch?”
(sucker punch to Sheila’s face)
“I just found out that Haranguetan was killed by the Blue Morpho and you knew there was a vigilante out there but you let villains arch. You knew all those things and now my Wandering Spider is dead. I wanted you to know.”
Mrs. Wandering Spider is a widow. A theme prevalent in season seven. She found out more villains are dying because of the Blue Morpho and she blames the Guild Council for not doing anything about it. She is likely a villain and perhaps was number two to her husband the Wandering Spider. She is probably friends with Battle Axe and that is how she found out about Haranguetan getting murdered. Shes likely a strong fighter type because she had amazing reflexes when she punched Councilwoman One in the face.
RIP Wandering Spider (Husband)

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch (real name: Sheila, born 1969 or 1970) is the secondary antagonist of The Venture Bros. Throughout the first two seasons she was known as Dr. Girlfriend, but she is now referred to as Dr. Mrs. The Monarch.

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is voiced by Doc Hammer, though she was voiced by Jackson Publick in her first appearance, "The Terrible Secret of Turtle Bay", albeit as a cameo.
Background
As a young woman, Sheila attended State University and was a student of Professor Fantomas. She has a doctorate in an unnamed field, and appears proficient in mechanics and general sciences, as evidenced by her having built the Monarch's first pair of functional wings, his ill-conceived "sunshine gun", and several tracking devices used for her own purposes.
Sheila later became the super-villain known as Lady Au Pair before serving as the second-in-command to many different super-villains over the years under several names. She soon went on to work for Phantom Limb under the name Queen Etherea, at which point she first met the Monarch. After falling in love with the Monarch, she abandoned working for Phantom Limb and went on to serve as the Monarch's second-in-command, Dr. Girlfriend.
Dr. Mrs. The Monarch with her husband, the MonarchAt the start of the series, Dr. Girlfriend’s relationship with the Monarch had begun to suffer due to his vendetta against the Venture family. In hopes of trying to bridge the gap between the two sides, she convinces the Monarch to reach out to Hank and Dean Venture as a friend when Monarch confides that Dr. Venture emotionally neglects his children. Despite her efforts, the Monarch continues his vendetta against the Ventures throughout the first season, until their breakup in "The Trial of the Monarch".
In season 2, Doctor Girlfriend had gone back to working with her former lover Phantom Limb, going by Queen Etherea again. However, Phantom Limb's pompousness grated on her and she reunited with The Monarch, whom she married in "Showdown At Cremation Creek".
In the Season 3, she and her husband move into Phantom Limb's former home in the local villain community of Malice.
In the Season 4, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch continues to aid her husband. During this time she forms a friendship with Henchman 21 which leads to a kiss between them in "Assisted Suicide". It turns out in "Operation P.R.O.M." that the kiss meant nothing to her, which was a contributing factor to 21 officially breaking away from them.
In the season 5 finale, she, her husband and their sole henchman 21 (who returned to their ranks) move into the Monarch's old family home in New Jersey because Sergeant Hatred accidentally destroyed the Cocoon and their house in Malice. She is later offered a position as a member of The Council of 13, which she accepts. In "All This and Gargantua-2", The Sovereign arranges the deaths of most of the council when they refuse to participate in his plans to attack the space station Gargantua 2. She is one of the few survivors of this attack, and confronts the Sovereign in his home and asks him not to destroy Gargantua-2 because her husband is there. The Sovereign begins a self-destruct sequence at his lair, where Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is restrained and unable to free herself, but Watch and Ward arrive in time to launch the built-in escape pod (always installed right after a self-destruction button), and they escape to Meteor Majeure (saving The Monarch and 21 on the way) where Dr. Henry Killinger announces his plans to create a new council.
During Season 6, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch becomes a part of the new The Council of 13, which plans to reshape The Guild of Calamitous Intent which had suffered as a result of the previous leader's actions. During this time, she meets the villain Wide Wale, to whom she offers a position on the council and who demands that The Guild give all arching rights to Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture to him. Later on, she and the council are forced to deal with a vigilante who takes on the identity of the famous superhero (who may have been a bad guy) The Blue Morpho, who was, unbeknownst to her, her father-in-law). She and The Council later (incorrectly) believe that the new Blue Morpho is secretly Dr. Venture when in fact he is really The Monarch.
Later on, when a villain named The Wandering Spider arching Venture goes missing she and the other council members spot Dr. Venture dressed up like the Blue Morpho, which confirms their suspicions. At Wide Wale's urging, she is given a sniper rifle to shoot Venture to avenge their fallen comrades. At first, she hesitates, but finally takes the shot. However, because the Blue Morpho's jacket has a bulletproof lining, Venture survives. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch checks her phone and finds two messages: one from Wandering Spider telling her that The Blue Morpho is holding him hostage and the other from her husband torturing his new arch, Dr. Heinie, both of which occurred while they were observing (and shooting) Dr. Venture. When it seems clear that Venture was not The Blue Morpho, she reprimands the Council for pushing her to perform a pointless act of violence.
Dr. Mrs. The Monarch and her colleagues then form a truce with the OSI, and set up a trap for The Blue Morpho in which some of the OSI and villains disguise themselves as the Ventures to fight against Dr. Venture's current nemesis Red Death. When The Blue Morpho doesn't show up, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch leaves. Furious that the vigilante didn't appear, she resolves to track down and kill the man herself.
Her vow to track down and slay the Blue Morpho ultimately comes to naught, for Henchman 21 eventually divulges to her that the Monarch is the true killer and was being held by Wide Wale before asking for her help. She enlists Red Death's help (in return for a promise of a Guild Council seat without killing her husband) to break into Dummy Corp and find the location of Douglas Ong, aka Dr, Dugong, Wide Wale's brother. Dr. Dugong, was hiding under OSI protection because his brother Wide Wale was a supervillain. Dugong is reunited with Wale, who believed his brother dead at the Monarch's hands, and the Monarch escapes murder. Furthermore, the original Blue Morpho, Vendata, resurfaces and is slain in an entirely unrelated incident. Following his death, the original Blue Morpho is blamed for all the Guild villain murders, and the Monarch is freed of any suspicion. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch learns that the original Blue Morpho's was the Monarch's father.
In "The Inamorata Consequence", Dr. Mrs. The Monarch and some other Guild representatives meet with the OSI at the Treaty of Tolerance Summit II to renew the agreement on organized aggression. During the negotiations, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch maintains a somewhat more civil disposition than most of the Guild or OSI emissaries there, but when negotiations break down into squabbling she too is sucked in. It is Dr. Venture of all people who shames both sides into coming back to the table and signing the new treaty. After the summit ends, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch learns of Guild Stranger S-464's secret tryst with Agent Kimberly McManus. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch correctly recognizes Fictel's comment of S-464 having "peepee" on his belt as in not urine but "P.P.", as in the marks of the Peril Partnership. S-464 was now uncovered as a mole.
In The Bellicose Proxy, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, with Watch and Ward's assistance, interrogates S-464 and gains his assistance as a double agent in return for helping him regain the love of McManus. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch engineers their meeting by secretly providing a level 6 ray gun to a level 1 arching, which would engender both the Guild and the OSI to intercede. When S-464 and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch encounter McManus, the latter shows only disdain and contempt for them. She expresses that she hates S-464 for his association with the Peril Partnership, calling them scum. When Dr. Mrs. The Monarch attempts to intercede, McManus's disrespect causes Dr. Mrs. The Monarch to fly off the handle even in the face of a peaceful resolution. the Monarch and Henchman 21, who had been mentoring Augustus St. Cloud during the arching encounter, intercede and break up the fight. They apologize to both McManus and S-464 before leaving them to settle their differences. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch thanks her husband for saving her life, but the Monarch says he only saved her career as she would have taken down McManus.
In "The Terminus Mandate", the conflict with the Peril Partnership seems to be coming to a head, but Dr. Mrs. The Monarch and Red Death meet with Blind Rage to discuss a peace agreement. Blind Rage loutishly demands that kickbacks formerly paid by Wide Wale be resumed, but Dr. Mrs. The Monarch only promises she will speak about it with the Guild. The Guild Council votes and ultimately agrees (though Red Death would secretly later scuttle the agreement by attacking Blind Rage and tying him to railroad tracks. After the vote to pay off the Partnership is concluded, the task of what to do about the Council's inability to fully restore itself is brought up. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch cites the Guild Charter which allows the Council to be reformed as the Guild's governing body. However, this development would require the Council members to retire from active supervillainy and become full-time Council members. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch breaks the news to the Monarch, and he reacts tempestuously before leaving for the Monarch Cave in a huff. Henchman 21 attempts to console her by saying that the Monarch isn't the type to do anything rash, but the effort is largely unhelpful.
Before their retirement, each Councilperson is given a final arching assignment to their worst foe, and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is set up with her old nemesis Novia. For this encounter with her rival, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch assumes her old guise of Lady Au Pair and enlists the help of 21, whom dons a Moppet costume. Despite Sheila's hesitation upon sight of Novia, 21 approaches Novia, and the encounter commences. However, it is a heartfelt and emotional one as Novia and Lady Au Pair embrace. On the way home from the encounter, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch expresses doubts to 21 about the future of her partnership with the Monarch. At 21's behest, she cuts off his ponytail as a symbol of the change he's undergone in the past year. In addition, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch presents 21 with Novia's wallet, commenting that their encounter was an arching.
When the Guild Council reconvenes, most of the present members (Wide Wale a notable exception) accept supervillainy retirement to retain their seats. But when the question is posed to Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, she hesitates. "The Terminus Mandate" ends before she gives an answer.
Later episodes seem to confirm her decision to retain her Council seat at the cost of her supervillain career. In "the Forecast Manufacturer", she is seen in Guild uniform with Dr. Z giving the Monarch and Henchman 21 orders to infiltrate the headquarters of the Creep and ultimately assassinate him. In "The Saphrax Protocol", Dr. Mrs. The Monarch participates as one of the Guild Council in the Monarch's Tenning ceremony. The Monarch at one point comments the Guild has taken away the ability to work with his wife in villainy, although they seem to still be close, judging by how Dr. Mrs. The Monarch comments how proud she is of him, calling him "sweetie".

Buggers, some creepy crawlies in video games!
Insects, love them or hate them, they are a part of live that almost everyone needs to deal with. Video games are no escape from this, as these critters have hooped, skittered and darted into many games. Also, even though they aren’t technically bugs, expect some eight-legged freaks to pop up as well. So grab your bug spray, grab your swatter, here are some insects in video games. Fair warning, if bugs really get to you, if seeing them can cause anxiety or panic, then skip this list. It’s ok I don’t blame you, bugs horrify me.
Bug type Pokemon (Pokemon) Bug type pokemon, there are too many to include just one. The bug type is realistically not that great of a type, it isn’t very strong and has many weaknesses. However, we have all had a bug type on our team before, they can be good early to mid-game, and even all the way to the champ if you know what your doing. They level up and evolve quickly and are some of the first pokemon you’ll encounter that can use status effect moves. Some bug types can actually be heavy hitters and worth the investment, and now there are even legendary bug types. So don’t put this typing down just cause it isn’t as strong as other types, bug types have a bit to offer! My personal favorite bug types by generation are… Beedrill, Scizor, Ninjask, Yanmega, Leaveany and good old Buzzwole.
The centipede (Centipede) One of the first bugs in video games, lets sing its praise. The centipede is simple, it crawls down the screen and the player have to shoot it into pieces before it reaches the bottom. The mushrooms will block your shot so you have to align them well to defeat the monster bug. Other than that it serves no lore or greater meaning behind its existence, its just a big centipede, simple as that.
Wigglers (Super Mario Bros) Wigglers are, more often than not, peaceful creatures that walk around in a state of ignorant bliss. They often wont react at all if jumped on and will continue on their merry way. Now if you jump on their head your in for a bad time, as they will fly into a rage and dash around in a crimson fury. It is often the best option to just avoid this creature if you don’t want to get hurt.
Caterkiller (Sonic Series) This is technically cheating since it’s a robot. The caterkiller takes on the form of a caterpillar and it just slowly moves along the ground. This creature is best to just avoid, since jumping on it often results in taking damage. The rule is to aim for the head and not any other part. In some games these things can be giant, reminiscent of a sandworm. Overall they are one of the most famous badniks in the Sonic series.
Flourescent Flower (Bloodborne) This beast is a horrifying eldritch abomination. It is a weird mixture of a plant, a centipede and a horrendous gaping maw. The creature has slow turning and is overall not to hard to defeat provided you are not standing in front of it. It attacks primarily with projectiles and can take quite a few hits to defeat. In the main game, they are rare enemies only appearing in one place that you will rarely revisit. They are more common however inside chalice dungeons.
Roolie (Bugdom) A nice little pill bug. This bug is the main character of the obscure yet cherished pc game Bugdom. Roolie must run, roll and kick his way through several levels in a quest to save his kingdom from an evil fire ant army. Roolie is a brave little bug who is up against tons of odd, including bruiser bees, horrifying spiders and even giant feet that want to crush him. However, he perseveres in his quest to save his kingdom and rescue the lady bug inhabitants.
Seltas Family (Monster Hunter) This monster family has two members, the standard Seltas and the queen. Lets cover the Seltas first. This relatively large monster is an airborne menace that likes to dart and fly out of range on the hunters weaponry. They have weak underbellies and are vulnerable to fire. The seltas will try to ram you with its horn, spit acid at you and swipe at you. If you managed to slay it, you can reap the rewards and make some armor. Now for the queen. The Seltas queen is always seen with a normal seltas, the queen is not airborne but can be carried by its underling. When alone she primarily fights with her tail and uses pheromones to call for help. These two make a deadly duo in combat.
Bugzzy (Kirby Series) A recurring mini boss in the Kirby Series. This martial artist beetle can grapple the pink puff ball with his massive pincers and slam him down or throw him. He can summon other bugs to help him if he cant grab Kirby himself. Inhaling him grants Kirby some new fighting moves, and in some games you can even convert him into an ally.
Zingers (Donkey Kong Country) One of the most common enemies in the Donkey Kong series. The Zingers are large wasp that are covered in spikes, due to these spikes they cannot be jumped on. The only way to defeat a Zinger is to throw something at it or have an animal friend dispatch it. They come in different colors, each one flies in a different pattern. They love to hover around barrels and can make barrel blast jumps tricky. What’s worse is that at one point you need to venture into one of their hives.
Giant Wasp (Earth Defense Force) These guys represent the horrors that is a wasp. Fast, aggressive and intimidatingly large. These wasp dart around at high speeds and shoot projectiles at you. Since they are airborne it can be a bit tricky to take them down, as they are quite mobile. They have a bit of health too and sometimes attack in swarms or in unison with other insects. Eventually you’ll come across giant metal versions that are even faster and more dangerous than before. These guys are among some of the most annoying enemies in insect Armageddon.
Queen Bee (Terraria) Deep in the underground jungle, you can find a beehive…Inside this beehive you can find an odd looking larvae, destroy it and prepare to meet the wrath of the queen bee. The queen bee is a very fast boss with a plethora of attacks. She has a good amount of health and the honey in the hive can hinder your movement. Do not try to fight this thing until your prepared and bring a ranged weapon! After you defeat her, you can revel in the spoils, as she drops some pretty good things. Also you get the witch doctor npc as a reward for slaying this giant bee.
Antlions (Half Life 2) Antlions are very aggressive creatures in the Half Life universe. They burrow under sandy areas and can react to surface tremors. Their nest are large and expansive. They come in five primary forms. The standard drone, which can attack in swarms, they have some flight capacity, so don’t think escaping will be easy. These drones are the most common. Next is the grey workers, they tend to not leave the nest and will spit acid at Gordan upon seeing him, they are physically weaker than the standard drone. The worm like grubs are defenseless and stick to the walls, ceiling and floors of the hive, waiting for the day they become a more capable threat. The red soldier is a ferocious large beast that is very aggressive and serves as a mini-boss of sorts, it can take a lot of punishment before going down. Finally the guardian is a soldier that guards the nest, it is very ferocious and very powerful and is best avoided.
Fire Ants (Fallout 3) The wasteland is full of nasties, these buggers are among some of the worst the waste has to offer. In Fallout three, they were born out of a twisted experiment that turned a colony of ants into giant fire breathing monsters. A nearby town was destroyed by this swarm of monsters and its up to the lone wanderer to clear the place out. These monsters are perceptive, fast and deadly. Since the quest that involves them appears early in the game they can be a brick wall that takes a while to overcome. So stay on your toes and keep your gun ready and steady. Beware, for this swarm has a queen…
Frostbite Spiders (Skyrim) Do you hate spiders? I hate spiders, they are freaky and just instantly cause panic in me. Video games know arachnophobia is a legit thing, and they cash in on this bad. Get ready for some spiders, starting with the frostbite spider. These spiders make their home in many caves and some outside areas in Skyrim. They can spit venom at their foes, and can ambush people from above if they dare venture into a spider infested area. These creatures can vary in size, with some being the size of a pig to others being the size of a small house! Fire spells dispatch them pretty quickly, they seem more resistant to cold, hence their name. Try to keep an eye out for these nasties when exploring the Rift, cause they tend to pop up there often.
Cave Spiders (Minecraft) Regular spiders are bad enough in Minecraft. Spiders can crawl up vertical walls, crawl under one block openings and have a dangerous jump attack. They don’t despawn during the day either, even though they cease being hostile in the daylight. The cave spider is everything that makes a spider bad and more. The cave spider is smaller and thus harder to hit, they can inflict deadly poison on you and they tend to come from spawners. They crawl towards you in narrow corridors filled with webs, now the webs only slow you down, not them. If you decide to go deep into a mine shaft in hopes of finding rare minerals or a fortress, be ready to fight these guys.
Black Tigers (Resident Evil) The Spencer Mansion and Raccoon city have a giant spider problem for sure, but one of the biggest of the bunch is the Black Tiger. This monster made its home underground and waits for unfortunate prey to stumble into its domain. It can spit acid and give a nasty bite… What’s worse is that it might have a buddy with it. After some shotgun blast to the face it will go belly up… And proceeds to spit out baby giant spiders, an arachnophobes nightmare.
Muffet (Undertale) Who said spiders couldn’t be cute? Or sell baked goods for that matter? Muffet is both of these. She initially appears at a bake sale, selling various pastries at extremely high prices. Normally a player will not buy these items. Later, the player is forced to battle her, as she was hired by Mettaton to take you out. During the battle she will trap you in her web and send her pets at you. Survive long enough and she will receive a telegram showcasing that you either supported the spider bake sale in the ruins, or you avoided stepping on any spiders. She will let you go after this ‘misunderstanding’ comes to a close. Alternatively, you can show her your love…but you wouldn’t do that, now would you?
Phantom (Devil May Cry) A big nasty from the Devil May Cry series. This demon takes on the form of a giant lava spider and attacks Dante numerous times. He serves as the first boss and is a challenging one at that. Later on, he will attack Dante and switch to a form similar to a scorpion. This spider is arrogant and boastful of its power but is squashed by Dante. In Devil May Cry 2, he comes back for a rematch. He presumably escaped the dark pit he was sent to, only to be sent falling back into it.
Skulltula (Zelda Series) The giant spiders of the Zelda series. These monsters have a skull like design on its back and are nasty creature to come face to face with. They vary in size, from the size of a turtle to the size of a human child. These baddies usually stay attached to walls or suspended on a vine. However they will craw around if need be and can entangle their foe. These guy’s shells are tough and most attacks to the front wont harm the bigger ones, their belly is their weak point, though arrows help too. There exist a rare golden variety capable of inflicting horrible curses upon the greedy.
The Stygian (Darksiders) Of course there was going to be a giant worm on the list. The Stygian is a colossal sand worm that can swallow War whole. Due to its tremendous speed and size, War must ride his horse to do combat with the creature. These monster serves as one of the bosses od the original Darksiders and would do battle with War in a massive arena. Initially its mouth is closed, but its mouth is its weak point so War will have to break it open, during the fight, smaller worms may come to assist it. Upon its defeat, War enters its body and rips out its oddly small heart.
Undeep (Lost Planet) From sand to Snow, the Undeep is a huge monster encountered in Lost Planet. It is fought relatively early in the game and serves as a warning to new players to choose their battles. This creature can be avoided, and it is recommended to do so. However, a skilled tactical player can take the beast down and revel in the victory. This worm is massive and can very easily crush the player under its mass. This worm would reappear in future installments as a boss as well, however in those games your more well suited to take it down.
Earthworm Jim (Earthworm Jim series) Not every worm is hungry for flesh and is the size of a football stadium! This groovy worm is simply put…just a normal cartoon earthworm. What makes him special is his state of the art space suit. Armed with a energy gun, Jim makes his way through many crazy levels, avoiding deadly traps and fighting colorful villains in order to rescue Princess what’s her name. Jim can use his body as a lasso and a helicopter to navigate levels. Jim was rather prolific in the 90s, starring in 3 games and having his own cartoon series. Sadly, his third game was a bad 3D game that doomed him to the back shelf.
The Knight (Hollow Knight) I figured I would end this list with something cute. The knight is a member of the void race. The knight is a gender-less hero that fights with a nail. Over the course of the game, the knight will learn many powers and spells to aid it in combat. The knight can heal itself with its soul. The knight will encounter many hardships over its journey through its world.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow! This was my longest list yet! Congrats on making it to the end. Tune in next time when we look at some nice beach themed levels!

I’m trying to keep tabs on what questions still linger in Venture Bros.
Why does Monarch hate Dr. Venture?
Who is the boys’ mother?
Who claimed the bounty on Blue Morpho?
Who will the remaining seats in the Council of Thirteen be?
Is Wandering Spider still alive?
Does the OSI’s interest in Jonas’ head mean he’s going to return again?

Venture Bros. S7E02 The Rorqual Affair SPOILERS
21's Dream Sequence at the beginning of Episode 2 SPOILERS
So something has been bothering me about the opening scene of Episode 2, The Rorqual Affair.
21's dream at the beginning. It has him in a childhood classroom, and he sees visions of The Wandering Spider, Wes Warhammer, 24 (with the gun 21 killed Hank and Dean with), Hatred, and finally, The Original Blue Morpho, but with Monarch's voice.
21 was directly involved in the deaths of Wandering Spider (we assume), Wes Warhammer, and 24 (and the twins). It's likely the dream is the result of guilt and grief building up in Gary's subconscious.
Skip to The OG Blue Morpho with Monarch's voice... I think Gary knew at that moment, subconsciously, that he had overslept, and thereby had put Monarch/Blue Morpho in grave danger. Gary/Kano wasn't there to back up Monarch, which led to Monarch being captured by Wide Wale. And the fact that it was the OG Blue Morpho that he saw in the dream could refer to the fact that it was Gary's idea to have Monarch become TBM in the first place. So now he has guilt doubly from urging his boss to do something foolhardy and dangerous, and then not being there for him when Monarch needed him most.
Still reading? I love you, marry me. :-) But here's what really bothers me....
The vision of Hatred in the Henchman disguise COULD represent the death of Gary's brief friendship with Hatred. Mislead by The Moppets (little f*ckers), Hatred thinks Gary betrayed him. This happens while Hatred is in the Henchman uniform.
OR... is this foreshadowing that Hatred is going to soon be another casualty of Gary's? :-(

Venture Bros Role Play.
(created for @moonstrxcked but if you wanna use this as a jumping off point hmu!!!)
Takes place right after A Party For Tarzan
___________________________________ The Eclipse had brought a weird energy upon the house.
The Monarch and I had gone to thwart Dr. Heinie as per The Councilwoman behest giving Gary room to take down the Wandering Spider on his own. But when he’d snuck back into the house at 1am something was different, and not “oh I just murdered a guy” different either.
The next morning I pulled myself out of the bed and made my way to the kitchen, Dr. Mrs. was already dressed and going over some paperwork at the table.
“Mornin’.” I yawned at her before pulling open the rusty handle of the antique, avocado-green fridge, taking out a carton of milk.
The Councilwoman grumbled back at me, her eyes never leaving her papers. “I made coffee.” She said just loud enough for me to hear. I nodded and pulled a clean mug out from the cupboard, before pouring myself a mug of the dark liquid, adding the milk to it and slowly watching the white swirl and ploom into drink. The Kitchen door opened and the Monarch entered, dressed in his maroon bathrobe and slippers, the robe fluttering open as he walked, revealing more of himself to the room then I would have liked to have seen. His leopard print underwear clashing against his pale skin. His Henchman, dressed in his Calamity Conference t shirt and sweatpants entered the room behind him.
“Morning, Pookums.” The Monarch whined before leaning down to kiss his wife on the cheek. She turned away from her papers and turned to smile at him.
Gary was walking rather stiffly as he made his way toward me. “Morning.” He sniffed before reaching into the cupboard and pulling out a mug and pouring himself a cup of coffee as well.
The Councilwoman tapped her pile of papers against the kitchen table and cleared her throat. “I have good news, I got you another Henchman.” She smiled at the Monarch. Gary almost choked on his coffee. I bit my lip and looked over to him with wide eyes.
A new henchman could destroy our Blue Morpho operation. My joining their group had already put them in jeopardy as it was.
Not too long ago I was a regular civilian, I barely even knew what the “Guild of Calamitous Intent” was.
After going to the emergency room with a blistering fever I’d been coerced into signing a Guild contract under false pretenses, being told by my treating physician that it was a consent to treatment form. Turns out it was a contract making me his henchman and super science guinea pig. After he took me to his secret lair, he’d performed experiments on me, telling me it was all part of my “treatment”.
Once my fever finally broke and I realized where I was I destroyed his lab in an attempt to escape. Resulting in me throwing a batch of mutated acid in his face and killing him. Because the contract I’d signed is Guild endorsed, it was binding, and my act of self defense was seen as treason.
Dr. Z and Phantom Limb wanted me executed, but it was the kindness of Dr. Mrs. The Monarch that saved me, arranging for me to become her husband’s henchman and serving out my a life sentence as a prisoner- a henchman with them.
The Monarch sat on the other side of the table, facing her. “You’re kidding.” He stammered.
“They’ll be arriving soon actually.” She stood from her chair and her table scrapped across the peeling linoleum loudly. “I’ve been told she has some powers, but a lot of her paperwork has been redacted.” She passed the stack of papers over to The Monarch who flipped through them half heartedly. His eyes darting over to Gary and my standing in the corner and sipping our coffee.
“Great, another girl…” The Monarch huffed under his breath.
“What was that?” The Councilwoman tone turned sturn.
The Monarch flushed and looked back up to his wife, realizing his mistake. “N-Nothing, Sweetness!” He jittered nervously, “Just, looking forward to having an army of strong, powerful women!” He tried to play it off.
The Councilwoman wasn’t buying it but she clearly didn’t have time to call him out on it, she grabbed her suitcase from it’s spot on the floor and made her way to the kitchen door. “I’ve got to get to work, but all the information should be there.” she pointed to the papers in his hand.
“Natasha, sweety, do you mind having a roommate till we’ve got the Cocoon back?” She asked smiling to me.
“Oh!” I stood up a little straighter and nodded “Y-yeh, that’s totally fine.”
“I’ll be home later tonight.” She gruffed before blowing a kiss to her husband and leaving the kitchen.
We all waited in silence till we heard the front door of the house close behind her.
“Dude, what the fuck are we going to do?” Gary voice broke as he put his coffee cup down on the counter, and I couldn’t help but notice how he spilled a little, his fingers shaking. I raised an eyebrow before turning to The Monarch.
“She can not know about the Blue Morpho crap.” I said.
“I knowww.” The Monarch hissed as he ran a hand through his slicked back red hair.
“We should just, like, keep her busy- pretend like we’re training her till we’ve taken down Wide Whale.” I crossed my arms and looked to the two men. The Monarch covered his face in his hands and whined in frustration. “I don’t need this right now, we’re so close!”
“We can’t send her away without raising suspicion from your wife.” Gary pointed out.
“Fuck it.” The Monarch stood from his chair with a huff. “You two deal with it, that’s what I pay you for isn’t it?” He exited the kitchen almost slamming open the kitchen door.
“Neither of us are paid!” Gary called back.
“I’m a prisoner.” I scowled and grumbled into my coffee mug before taking a deep swig.
Gary moved to sit down in the seat the Monarch had taken, as he lowered himself he gripped the edge of the table, his eyes shut and he let out a small pained gasp.
“Dude, are you okay?” I asked. “You look a little stiff.”
Gary’s face flushed bright red and he looked away from me before biting his bottom lip. “Yeah, wandering spider hit me with a dart last night.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I think they might have neurotoxins in them.”
“Oh shit!” My eyes went wide. “Do you need to go to the hospital?”
Gary opened his mouth to speak before the sound of the doorbell resonated throughout the house.

You need to gift us with some dream pack hc's again - yours are the best!!
i present you with: the dream pack goes camping (and it’s mostly a disaster)
kavinsky dreams up a huge tent for all of them but entirely forgets to include a screen or flap for the moonroof, so there’s just a giant hole in the top of the tent. it’s good for stargazing, but not so good when a spider drops down from a low-hanging bough and lands on skov’s shoulder while he’s rummaging through his bag for his pajamas - swan tells him ‘don’t freak out’, which of course leads to excessive amounts of flailing and screaming on skov’s behalf before he even knows why he isn’t supposed to freak out. jiang refuses to sleep until the spider is located by proko, who insists that they don’t need to kill it; they’re the ones invading its home, after all. skov tells proko to stop being so nice and just smash the thing, but proko cups it in his hands (even though it tickles his palms) and safely escorts it outside
at some point, they’re all settled comfortably in a pile inside their tent, limbs entwined and hands wandering, when they hear an awful high-pitched shriek coming from outside. it’s dark, it’s late, and none of them know what’s making the sound, so kavinsky demands jiang give him his pocket knife (jiang never goes anywhere without it). k untangles himself from proko’s grasp and ventures outside, yelling ‘come at me, bro’ like a fucking idiot while wielding jiang’s knife, clad in nothing but his boxers and someone else’s shirt that he grabbed before stepping out of the tent (swan’s, probably, judging by the fact that its hem reaches k’s upper thighs). it turns out that the noise was actually made by a fox, and kavinsky chases it for a while before it disappears into a thick patch of brush. when he gets back to the tent, he’s pretty winded, and he tells everyone that he swears he saw a ghost that looked like the girl from the ring - no one believes him whatsoever, but jiang still sleeps with his knife under his pillow
making a campfire proves harder than it seems because all of them insist that they know what to do (but none of them actually know how to safely start fires) - once they finally get one going, they take turns attempting to jump over the flames, because they are bad decision makers. it doesn’t end as badly as it could - only skov ends up with a burn and blames it on his height disadvantage; swan makes him wash off the wound and poorly applies some ointment and a bandage from the first aid kit he brought in the event that they’d need it. jiang and proko prove to be the best at hurdling over the fire until kavinsky breaks out a handle of vodka and their depth perception and coordination start lacking - the night ends with everyone drunkenly splayed out around the fire, singing ‘99 bottles of beer’ and laughing into the night. swan’s the first to pass out and obviously wakes up with sharpie drawings on his face
there’s a huge lake near the campsite, so naturally kavinsky suggests skinny dipping (and by suggest, i mean he drags proko out from beneath a tree he’d fallen asleep beneath and tells him they’re all going skinny dipping and to go find jiang while he gets skov and swan). the air is hot and the water is just the perfect mix of warm-cool and no one can resist - kavinsky makes a joke about seeing a ghost when skov strips down, jiang and proko realize that they both have matching beauty marks beneath their right buttcheck, and everyone admires swan’s back muscles for a good minute before jumping in. they play a few rounds of marco polo before it turns into a water fight - everyone is splashed, jiang gets dunked by swan, and proko distracts kavinsky for just long enough so that skov can swim under the water and grab his ankles to scare the shit out of him
#the dream pack#anon#asks#i've just been wanting like#silly scenarios for them lately#as much as i love their sex/drugs/party lifestyles#they also just... are dumb boys who do dumb boy stuff lmao
