A good article explaining why we need clean air to fight any and all viruses coming our way. We need to demand it.

Crime Story Confined by
Exroteria
Tricia awoke to a disorienting and terrifying reality, shrouded in darkness and silence. As consciousness slowly returned, a wave of panic swept over her. She felt an unfamiliar weight encasing her entire body, restricting even the slightest movement. The realization struck her — she was encased in a body cast, rendering her completely immobile.
The muffled sound of her own breathing reached her ears, a stark contrast to the eerie silence that enveloped her. The earmuffs clamped over her ears seemed to seal off the world, leaving Tricia in an isolated realm of sensory deprivation.
Her attempts to open her eyes proved futile; they were sealed shut with tape, cutting off the visual connection to her surroundings. The absence of light plunged her into an unsettling abyss, amplifying her sense of vulnerability and disconnection.
A foreign sensation in her throat grabbed her attention — a tube was inserted, stretching down into her lungs. The mechanical rhythm of a ventilator became apparent as it forced air into her lungs and then out again. Each breath felt intrusive, a reminder of her dependence on the machinery for survival.
The catheter inserted into her urethra added another layer of discomfort and violation. The awareness of its presence, as well as the sterile, clinical environment surrounding her, intensified the feeling of helplessness. Tricia's mind raced with questions, but the inability to communicate, move, or even perceive her surroundings left her trapped in a nightmarish void.
In this surreal and nightmarish state, Tricia grappled with the unknown, her senses stripped away and replaced with an overwhelming sense of confinement. The combination of physical restraint, sensory deprivation, and the invasive medical apparatus plunged her into a disconcerting realm, where time seemed to lose its meaning, and the boundaries between reality and the terrifying unknown blurred into a haunting dreamscape.

Wearing a mask, making air flow better (like opening a window) and avoiding large groups of people for this peak time are good ways to help avoid COVID, Flu, RSV and be healthier during and after the holidays.
“As of Monday, Weiland projected that there were nearly 1 million active COVID infections in the U.S. each day, with 1 in every 340 Americans becoming infected daily, and 1 in every 34 currently infected.”

how does venting work in among us
Tumblr media
because i thought that the impostor were using their shapeshifting abilities to be able to fit into the vents
Tumblr media
but then among us added roles and made it so crew members could vent
Tumblr media
but also only if they're an engineer
Tumblr media
is it like
the engineers are the only ones that know how to crawl?
is there multiple branching pathways in the vents that only someone who repairs the ship know how to navigate?
polus and the fungle make this even more confusing
on polus, it's just holes, i don't see why they only some people can use them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and the fungle, a plant eats you, then a different one spits you out?
Tumblr media
how does that work?
are the impostor able to travel through the roots of the plants?
how do the engineers do it?
Tumblr media
if the engineers can do it why can't the rest of the crew?
Tumblr media
well actually maybe the crew shouldn't jump into giant plants that can eat you whole
but still why is it that the crew can vent but only when they're engineers, which doesn't even make sense for 2/5 maps
none of this makes sense

I will always repost this. It's how I got Covid. The person did not know they were infected, and I did not have a mask on when answering the door. Keep yourself safe.

Just added a solar fan to the coop to push hot air out and create more of a draw. These little things can move some air. I'd like to get 3 to 4 more sets and figure out a better way to hang the solar panels. This will do for now.

Web App: A guideline to limit indoor airborne transmission of COVID-19
This web app is based on this 2021 study: A guideline to limit indoor airborne transmission of COVID-19
The Six-Foot Rule is a social distancing recommendation by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, based on the assumption that the primary vector of pathogen transmission is the large drops ejected from the most vigorous exhalation events, coughing and sneezing (5, 19). Indeed, high-speed visualization of such events reveals that 6 ft corresponds roughly to the maximum range of the largest, millimeter-scale drops (20). Compliance to the Six-Foot Rule will thus substantially reduce the risk of such large-drop transmission. However, the liquid drops expelled by respiratory events are known to span a considerable range of scales, with radii varying from fractions of a micron to millimeters (11, 21).
There is now overwhelming evidence that indoor airborne transmission associated with relatively small, micron-scale aerosol droplets plays a dominant role in the spread of COVID-19 (4, 5, 7, 17–19, 22), especially for so-called “superspreading events” (25–28), which invariably occur indoors (29).
...
Finally, the fact that face mask directives have been more effective than either lockdowns or social distancing in controlling the spread of COVID-19 (22, 33) is consistent with indoor airborne transmission as the primary driver of the global pandemic.
This won't be news to anyone who already understands that COVID is airborne, and that minimizing viral load as much as possible via layered protection (vax + ventilation & filtration + well-fitted masks (n95)) is key to avoiding the worst possible outcomes — severe acute disease and post-acute damage.
Nevertheless it might be interesting to see it spelled out. With the IMPORTANT caveat that it shouldn't be taken too literally: i.e. you're neither perfectly safe nor totally at risk if the numbers are above or below these thresholds.

The Paternoster Vents - Sculpture - Paternoster Square London
Paternoster Vents, sometimes referred to as simply Vents and also known as Angel's Wings, is an outdoor 2002 stainless steel sculpture by Thomas Heatherwick, installed Paternoster Lane on the west side of the Paternoster Square development in London, United Kingdom, close to the junction of Warwick Lane and Ave Maria Lane with Amen Corner. The sculpture provides ventilation for an underground electrical substation.
