We’re in the golden and dying age of the internal combustion engine. Car companies are releasing vehicles that are basically becoming instant classics.

Toyota has the GR Corolla coming out, a 300 HP 3 cylinder all wheel drive beast; the Supra, the returned legend from the 90s; the 86, a spiritual successor to the near mythical AE86. Even the Camry is joining in, with the TRD, the last of the V6 family sedans.

Honda has refined the Civic Si and the Civic Type R, both legends in their own right, and each likely being at their pinnacle. On their luxury arm, Acura has brought back the Integra and will likely be releasing the Integra Type S next year, a luxury and upscale version of the Civic Type R. The NSX has already left us but certainly won’t be forgotten.

Nissan is coming out guns blazing with a brand new 400z. The continuation of the ever coveted Z series and arguably one of the last true non-American muscle cars.

Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis are showing us the Korean brought their A game. The Veloseter (discontinuing this year sadly), the Stinger, the N series cars, and Genesis in general are all fantastic cars from brands that have traditionally been viewed as lesser.

I can honestly go on and on and keep listing car brands and their last ICE engines. Truly the age of the internal combustion engine is coming an end and it is going down gracefully and loudly. The last of these engines screaming into the night before the electric car takeover.
