Okay I also just realized that since Pearl and Soul Silver can trade with each other, and in my Soul Silver game there is CLEARLY Pokémon traded over from my past Pearl and Platinum (I checked out a copy of Platinum from my library years ago to get cool legendaries and more starters) games, so once I finish my Pearl Bug run, I'm gonna absolutely do a Soul Silver solo type run. Probably normal type, but I will admit I am VERY tempted to do a different kind of challenge run because of the Dratini you can get from the Game House pretty early on in Goldenrod City and it wouldn't be too hard to get because I'm actually pretty decent at the Voltorb Flip Game.

Anyways get ready to probably get fun art about how my Bug Type run of Pokemon Pearl is going with humanizations and a cute lil trainer design over the next while and once that's done I will be finally free of the really fucking dumb Soul Silver shackles because I picked a dumb name for my character and I am haunted by it

A Pokémon Trainers Adventures

Today a group of Pokémon trainers in training were all meeting together at a diner catching up on their adventures throughout the lands of, Sinnoh on the way to becoming, Pokémon Masters

Ruby: Whoo! It's great to see you guys again!

Blake: It's great to see you too, Ruby.

Nora: It feels like it's been years since we last met.

Ren: It's only been five months.

Nora: Years...

Pyrrha: It's been years in, Nora's time.

Ren: ...

Weiss: That makes sense.

Ren: An uncomfortable amount of sense.

Yang: So, what crazy adventures did you guys go on while becoming Pokémon masters?

Nora: Oh, me first!

Yang: Alright, go ahead, Nora.

Nora: Okay... I was deep in the industrial zone, searching for, Pokémon to add to my party... When suddenly from out of the shadows appear a derange vacuum cleaner coming straight at me, with murderous intent in it's eyes! I call out my, Bronzor, Blingy ,and we engaged in a grueling duel to the death with this killer vacuum! It was a fierce duel, but we managed to defeat the vile vacuum cleaner! But, after we destroyed the evil vacuum, a Pokémon flew out of the machine, but before it could escape, I threw a Great Ball at it, and I caught, Rotoma!

RWBYP: Rotoma?

Ren: The vacuum cleaner was possessed by a, Rotom. When, Nora caught him, so she named it, Rotoma

RWBYP: Ohh!

Yang: Nice name!

Ruby: Okay, my turn! So, I recently defeated the gym leader of, Veilstone City, Gym Leader, Maylene!

Yang: Oh, nice job, Ruby!

Blake: Well done!

Ruby: Thanks! It was a tough to fight her, and her fighting type Pokémon gave my guys a run for their money. We barely managed to eke out a win. I've been doing some training to strengthen my, Pokémon so we're not stuck on the ropes again.

Pyrrha: Smart move, Ruby. That's what I did after I beat, the gym leader of, Calavane City, Byron. He may have mostly metal type, but my, Luxray was knocked out in the first round with ease!

Weiss: Yeah, gym leaders may specialize on one type of Pokémon, but that doesn't mean they're a pushover if you have a Pokémon that their pokemon is weak against. Like when I lost to, Gardenia with my, Glaceon.

Ruby: But, aren't water type, Pokemon, weak to grass types?

Weiss: Vaporeon is the water type eeveelution. Glaceon is the ice type eeveelution.

Ruby: Ohh! So she curb stomped your Pokémon then?

Weiss: She bullied poor, Mr. Snappy...

Yang: Mr. Snappy?

Blake: That's what, Weiss calls her, Sharpedo.

Yang: Oh that's cute!

Blake: So, what about you, Ren, anything interesting happen to you?

Ren: Oh, well... I found a Pokémon egg a while ago, and I was nursing it, and it recently hatched into a, Riolu.

Yang: Oh, a Riolu! That's a nice Pokémon to have!

Blake: Are you having a hard time training it?

Ren: No, she's a delight to have around, I'm enjoying training her with the rest of my other Pokémon. What about you, Yang, did you do anything interesting?

Yang: Oh, I've been entering some Pokémon beauty contest lately. I haven't won anything yet, but we've gotten pretty close to. So, we've been training for the next competition. What, about you, Blake?

Blake: Not much, bar getting my ass handed to me by the gym leader of, Hearthome City, Fantina. Her ghost type Pokémon do not play around...

Pyrrha: Yeah, I still haven't beaten her myself.

Weiss: Her Pokémon scare me...!

Nora: Me too!

Ruby: Well, I don't I think her Pokémon are really cool!

Yang: Of course you like ghosts.

Ruby: What, they're cool!

Pyrrha: Hahaha! So, what about you, Jaune?

Jaune: Hmm... what?

Pyrrha: You've been pretty quiet. Has something interesting happen lately?

Jaune: Well... kinda...

Yang: Ohh~! You got an interesting story to tell! Let's hear it!

Jaune: Well...

Unlike the rest of his friends, Jaune was just having an adventure, exploring the lands of, Sinnoh. Exploring the land, meeting new people, and Pokémon. Occasionally engaging in a battles with his fellow trainers, and when he decides he ready to, engage in a match with a gym leader.

He didn't have a lot of problems, or more accurately, challenges whenever he got into a Pokémon battle. He even had a fight against, Sinnoh's Pokémon champion, and honestly, he enjoyed the conversation the pair had afterwards more so than the battle itself. So, instead of worrying about Pokémon battles, gym badges, and what not, he just went on an adventure with his Pokémon, and meeting new Pokémon, and people.

And, one day while, Jaune was enjoying the beauty of a pound filled with lily pads, enjoying the elegant lotus blossoms upon the lily pads. A content sigh escaped his lips as he just enjoyed the moment. But as, Jaune was watchin the pound, he saw a dark shadow from the cave the pound fed into grow darker, and darker across the lily pads, as he eyes were drawn upward. His eyes widened in stunned awe, as he looked into the deep crimson eyes of the being on the other side of the void: Giratina.

Jaune: ...

Giratina: ...

Jaune: ...

Giratina: ...

Jaune: Hi.

Giratina: ZEHHAAA!!!

Jaune: ...

Jaune: Okay...

Pyrrha: Jaune? Jaune you okay...?

Jaune: I have a date with the, Sinnoh Pokémon Champion, Cynthia!

RWBYNPR: WHAT?!

Yang: You've got a date with who?!

Weiss: That's fucking bullshit!

Jaune: Honestly, I don't think they would believe me if I had a date in general, much less with who I said it was with.

It was nice to put in a reference to Ikrit’s job with Professor Cozmo in here, just as nice as it was to imagine why the approximate modern-day location for the Diamond Clan was on a cliff when it used to be about level with Lake Valor, & not to mention giving Emmet a train to get excited over! ^7^

Meanwhile, Crasher Wake is actually pretty strategic - in-game, he does have a rain team (mostly just as a Water specialist, rain giving Water a boost), but he uses Rain Dance with his Water/Ground Quagsire after Gyarados. However, if you happen to ALSO be a rain user like Ansy, you can get the jump on him if you turn it on turn 1, & just so happened to pick up the Thunder TM in Veilstone City. ⛈️

She was one of the many voices of many cartoon characters in the field of Anime , Animation and Videogames.

Also, making our childhoods Magical , Beautiful and Sweet.

She Voiced Misty , Jessie and Maylene The Veilstone City Gymleader in the 4kids Dub in “Pokémon”, Utena Tenjou in “Revolutionary Girl Utena”, Headmistress Faragonda in the 4kids Version of “Winx Club”, Ursula from “Dinosaur King”, Martina from “Slayers” franchise, and Princess Charlotte from “Berserk”!

Sinnoh League Found Family Hcs that will be featured in my ongoing league story that you can read here: -yes cynthia is the champion but bertha is responsible for sinnoh turning very matriarchal. usually it's bertha who is the ultimate decider on these things and cynthia trusts her judgment the most. she gets what she wants. -bertha is literally the designated League Mom. literally she's the one every single league member goes to whenever they have personal problems. yes, even the stoic lucian. she is the best listener and will probably end up making you cocoa. -lucian and flint will show up in bertha's office just for the purpose of avoiding their own paperwork and to bother her. she also has to yell at them to stop licking the frosting when she's baking cupcakes. they do this to annoy her. -bertha is someone who's always willing to learn. she's happy to hear volkner talk about his inventions and his obsession with technology. he teaches her how to use the latest gadgets and she's always so enthralled by them. it actually makes volkner's eyes light up. -cynthia is the designated big sister. she was totally there for candice, gardenia, and maylene whenever "girl problems" came up. -the younger kids of the sinnoh league (aaron, gardenia, maylene, roark, and candice) were undergrounders, apart of sinnoh's grand underground program where kiddies turn into battling machines, which is why they were able to achieve their positions so young. the older generation seems to understand they're young, and therefore are super understanding. still. bertha has done more parenting in fifteen minutes than their families have done in fifteen years. -candice has a nickname. they call her "candy corn" because her full name is candice cornwall, and also because she's sweet as candy. -fantina is called "tina" by byron and wake, after drinking those two under the table at a bar for the first time. fantina always drinks those two under the table. she's kalosian. she handles her liquor better. -maylene was actually discovered by flint and gave her an explorer's kit to send her to the grand underground program after seeing her defiance toward a police officer. it was his idea to make her the new gym leader of veilstone. he was the first person she told about her dad. candice was the second. -roark refers to riley as some boy toy with a stupid fucking fedora. he hates riley because roark's father wanted him to be the gym leader of orebourgh instead of roark, and that pushed roark to become the undisputed leader of the grand underground to show his father. -aaron starts off as a selective mute who was hired to be a gym leader after roark insisted and no one wanted the eterna city position at the time. the sinnoh league didn't care about his muteness, because he did his work, did what he was told, and minded his business. when aaron wins the elite position, he learns to talk more with the support of his elites and cynthia. bertha especially, was very helpful. later he infodumps to them about bugs for 10-15 min. they let him. -gardenia has a garden that's the envy of the entire city. sometimes bertha will come over to help her out with it. people say that she's the most like cynthia, and by that I mean she has the "uncanny valley" look in her eyes, that something is a bit... off about her. really she's fine. that's just her face. -the sinnoh league has sunday brunch hosted by bertha. you don't miss a sunday brunch hosted by bertha unless you're on a ventilator. -when bertha cooks, byron, wake, lucian, volkner, flint, roark, and aaron (pretty much grown men) will fight over who gets to lick the spoon. -they're probably more of a family than any other league. they're a very tight knit group, and that's probably because of bertha. she was cheekily called "mother bertha" for her doting, stern manner, but she genuinely does love them like her own. family didn't have to be blood.

okay i just talked to every NPC in veilstone because it's been a long time and man sinnoh's NPCs are peak, at least out of the 2D games i feel like they provide the most humor and the most random lore tidbits and stuff. i love this region. i'm going to talk about it

first off sinnoh is full of little things like this. random dialogue/flavor text that ties back to the mythos of the region. i love how widespread the sinnoh myths are

i'm also obsessed with when there's two NPCs that link together like this. you talk to one and you move on and then you talk to another and you're like oh! lmao. by the way the rage candy bars being here is cool because sinnoh is canonically connected to johto through the sinjoh ruins and the rage candy bars are from johto, which means they're imported and sold here. in general i'm obsessed with the locations in pokemon that have special treats associated with them, like the pewter crunchies of pewter city in kanto, or the lava cookies from lavaridge in hoenn. iconic

btw don't worry lady literally everyone sucks at making poffins. unless you have four players it's pretty much impossible to make poffins that are better than the storebought ones. good luck getting four people with rare berries who are good at the minigame to play with you, ESPECIALLY in 2023 jesus christ. the basement poffins are OPTIMAL

anyway in speaking of linking NPCs, these two - i wonder if the dialogue in the french version of this game is turned into english? they did that for lt. surge's french pikachu trade, the french versions of HGSS make the pikachu english instead lol. but anyway as usual it's very fascinating to me how much pokemon loves to drop foreign language in its titles, and fittingly i know a lot of people with english as their second language got interested in learning english from a young age due to wanting to play pokemon. how many kids do you think got interested in french because of dialogue like this. the girl even implies what the meaning of his words is

veilstone isn't short on game hints either, useless to me now as an adult longterm pokemon player who knows all this stuff already but still really cool to see. if sinnoh is your first time playing pokemon, those hints on trade evos and stuff are always appreciated.

of course, funny dialogue too that got a wheeze out of my nose, not uncommon for pokemon NPC dialogue SDKFSFDK some of this shit takes me so offguard it's like extra funny
