A little Christmas Rat 🐀 for the holiday season. Did you all know that I use my rats as my mascots for my business? Most people would think it would be my cats 🐈 but I really loved all of my rats such as Eggsy, Vincent, and Sephiroth. They are long gone but I still think about them all of the time, hope they are all playing together in a rat paradise in the great beyond.

Got the chance to finish my design featuring a character I’ve been thinking of for a future project. The line art was simple and didn’t take much time before I was happy with the result, and going through my patterns I finally got the end result you see here. Sometimes it is nice to draw really pretty women.

Hey there, friends! It's Tish here, and today I want to have a little chat about something that's been on my mind lately – love, and how it's been shaping both my heart and my art. So, buckle up and get cozy, because we're diving into the mushy stuff!

Let me start by introducing you to my rock, my partner-in-crime – my boyfriend, Lee. We've been together for a solid four years and a few months, and let me tell you, falling for him was like falling off a cliff in the best possible way. From day one, I knew he was the one I wanted to build my life with, no doubts, no hesitations. We're like PB&J sandwiches – he's the peanut butter to my jelly, and our cats? Well, they're the bread that holds us together (quite literally sometimes!).

Now, why am I gushing about my love life, you ask? Because, my friends, it's had a profound impact on me – as a person and as an artist. Lee's unwavering support has been the wind beneath my wings, propelling me to new heights in my creative journey. He's not just a cheerleader; he's my teammate, my sounding board, my muse. He's been there every step of the way, helping me set up my art shop, providing encouragement when I doubted myself, and even pitching in with supplies to kickstart my business.

But it's not just the practical support that matters; it's the love and warmth he showers me with every single day. His belief in me fuels my passion and creativity, and I can feel his love seeping into every line I draw. It's this deep, soulful connection that inspired the artwork you see here – two women deeply in love, ready to defy kingdoms and live their happily ever after together. In my mind, they're a testament to the power of love, the kind of love Lee and I share – boundless, unconditional, and utterly transformative.

Honestly, I'm not sure I would have delved into such romantic themes if it weren't for the love I've experienced in my own life. Lee has opened my eyes to new perspectives, allowing me to explore emotions and narratives that resonate deeply with me. The longing, the desire, the sheer joy of being with someone who completes you – it's all there in my art, thanks to him.

I’ve been craving watermelon popsicles for three weeks now, and I have to live through this sketch until I can figure out where to get them again. Anyone else have some serious cravings at the moment? I think I’m going to add a little set of horns on her head and maybe change her eyes a bit to make her seem more demonic. I feel like it was my original thought but I ended up feeling rather satisfied with the results at first with this sketch. Idk, we will see what happens when I eventually start finishing my WIPs.

I think I need to add some fins or something to this big guy. Still just the base idea, but I want to draw more creatures to go along with my character art. There are some other creatures that I want to explore and I’ll probably post some more sketches next week or something. I am still really unmotivated to finish anything though, and I’m just trying to get back into the right headspace so I can finally start finishing all of my WIPs.

Hey everyone! Today, I wanted to indulge a bit and share some stories from my childhood that pointed me towards becoming an artist. It's always fun to reflect on the past and see how those early experiences shaped who I am today. So, let’s take a little trip down memory lane.

As a kid, I would spend hours drawing every single day. My fascination with anime characters and video game characters was endless. I’d fill sketchbooks with drawings of my favorite characters and even create my own original ones. And dragons! I can’t even count how many dragons I drew. They were a big part of my childhood imagination, each one more intricate and detailed than the last.

One of the most pivotal experiences for me was living in Okinawa, Japan. The art there was so vibrant and unique, whether it was in local shops, graffiti, or even in places where you wouldn’t expect to find art. The influence of Japanese art left a lasting impression on me. My mom’s growing collection of manga was another huge inspiration. I would spend hours poring over those books, absorbing the styles and stories, which fueled my love for drawing even more.

I also had a bunch of "how to draw manga" books that were like treasures to me. They helped me refine my skills and gave me new techniques to try out. I was so into video games and anime that I would often pause whatever we were watching on VHS to try and recreate the scenes. It wasn’t the perfect way to learn, but it certainly was fun and challenging.

Fast forward to college, where I studied fine arts for a couple of years. This was an amazing time for me to delve into more serious aspects of art like realism, anatomy, and various techniques. I developed a particular love for cross-hatching and oil painting, even if I wasn’t particularly great at it at first. But then, life took over, and I ended up stepping away from art for about a decade. Apart from a few sporadic paintings, I didn't do any serious sketching or pursue any artistic aspirations during that time.

A few years ago, something changed, and I found myself drawn back to art. Picking up my sketchbook and digital tablet again was both humbling and exciting. That first year back was tough—I was rusty, and my imagination felt stifled. But with persistence, my creativity started to flow again, and I began to regain and improve my skills. Now, I feel like my art is better than it’s ever been, though I know there’s always more to learn and more skills to develop.

Looking back, I do have some regrets about not drawing for so long. I often wonder how much further along I’d be if I hadn’t taken that long break. But I try not to dwell on the past too much. Instead, I focus on making the most of my present and future with art. I want my future to be filled with the same love for art that I had as a kid.

Being an adult comes with its own set of challenges. Sometimes, you end up letting go of the things that are most important to you in order to make others happy. I wish I had kept up with my art, but I didn’t think it would lead anywhere. Now, even though I might be struggling, at least I’m doing what I love. I’m not giving up, and I don’t plan to.

I might need to find more work to keep myself financially secure, but having another job isn’t going to stifle my creativity or kill my art business. If anything, it’s going to make me stronger and more confident in my journey. It’s all about finding balance and making sure you keep the things you love close to your heart.
