it's so frustrating they don't take the necropolis as an opportunity to explore spirits with more depth in veilguard. or even Manfred's whole thing. Manfred being able to learn to speak implies that any wisp is capable of it with time. they have preferences and emotions and comprehend speech but you still shouldn't be concerned that they are used for slave labour in the necropolis. you're supposed to be horrified that Hezenkoss is abusing spirits but not at that. engaging with spirits as people introduces too much nuance to the situation and veilguard is absolutely incapable of dealing with it. otherwise they'd have to engage with why Solas wants to tear the veil down

Does a breath of cool water feel nice on their systems? When it's quiet do they listen to their own heart and feel the electricity pulsing? Does it remind them that they are alive and a part of this world? Do they have dreams? Hopes and projects they wish to work on, hobbies?

Why get off the string into the harsh and deadly world, fighting for survival and losing everything they've ever known to love about themselves?

What about the safety of their bodies? How scary would it be for a machine with thousands, maybe millions of throughs to suddenly have just a handful. The horror of everything going silent.

They have hundreds of eyes to see the world for all its beauty, they capture moments that would otherwise go unseen. Why blind themselves of such things?

And she drinks blood!#First I drew the design in the first image and later googled ‘spider that drinks blood’#And the image that popped up actually has the Ophelia colour scheme??#The spider is called Evarcha culicivora if you want to see! It’s one of those spiders with big round eyes so it’s not that scary maybe!#Ophelia in a spidersona AU probably fights crime and then drinks their blood. Very efficient way to discourage crime I guess?#But that’s also the reason why some people dislike this spider person #What if she turns against the civilian population etc etc #Not sure if there are elves and all that in this version of the spider world #Maybe her skin tone and ears and eyes are just side effects from her transformation?
