I was in the mood for a spicy pasta dish to get me over the hump! This is a keeper. Not nonno Nicola's but my own creation! Penne with eggplant, mushrooms basic tomato sauce and basil. It's spicy, and has notes of star anise, white wine and balsamic vinegar.
