I've spent the better part of the last 30 years hating my body hating how I looked. I was never pretty enough, never clever enough never athletic enough never skinny enough. My own insecurities destroyed my relationship and interfered with my yoga practice to the point where I stopped practicing completely and resented other teachers success and i became infected with suspicion and jealousy and anger. I hated myself because I wasn't flexible enough, wasn't graceful enough. I doubted myself and in turn turned that doubt outward and doubt turned into paranoia. I am trying. I am learning. Trying to accept my body and trying to love it because our bodies are truly amazing tools. I am learning that my practice doesn't need to be perfect I just need to practice and learning that the success of others does not mean that I'm a failure.
