Basic run down: uh there are gaseous beings called Veernumbra and humans and they can use magic and the turts are part turtle, part human, and part Veernumbra

Ok, that Veernumbra au (hope I wrote it right) looks really interesting, can you explain it a bit more? Maybe the magic system? I always find those really cool.

Magic system! I’m particularly proud of this! I think it’s real unique to my knowledge. I won’t go into how the magic works within the Veernumbra anatomy so here’s just a rundown of the different states(types of magic that exist within a creature).

There are 4 different states: Terch, Reicho, Heilm, and Kiln

They all interact with each other negative and positive ways

Terch: the strongest of the states and used as offensive magic. It’s negated by Heilm and works best against Reicho.

Reicho: the toughest state and used as defensive magic. Reicho can only be harnessed instinctively unless one spends years and years learning to control it consciously. It is negated by Terch and is effective against Kiln.

Kiln: the weakest and most abundant state, and is the magic used for day to day happenings. Kiln also can dilute other magics to make reserves last longer or to lessen their affects. It’s negated by Reicho and effective against Heilm.

Heilm: the state with the smallest resivoir and is used as healing magic. It’s negated by Kiln and effective against Terch.

So to the rest of you who did not get the displeasure of having to sit in call with me for an hour as I agonized o-so painfully over having to choose between children, I will explain that THIS WAS SO HARD.

This is gonna be a long post.

So I narrowed my AUs down to 7, which I will list now:

I Was Looking for Someone, One Mountain of a Molehill, Test Tube Zedaph AU, The Human Illusion AU, Softwreck Series, Veernumbra AU, and Excavated God AU.

I was able to narrow further to AUs that I adore with my entire being and I will tell you WHY I love these AUs with my entire being. In no particular order because I physically cannot pick favourites.

I Was Looking For Someone: I love this au. I love this fic. I love it so much it is my child. I will finish it one day. I swear to god. I love writing the language barrier and having Ghost learn who and what he is and where his place is and just loving Someone so much that he remembers them post-mortem and searches so hard to find them. The consequences of being a zombie. The truth that no matter how you've changed and how the world has changed and what you've had to do to survive you will always find your home again and home will always find you under the callouses you've developed. I want to finish that. I love that. I love I Was Looking for Someone. And from how many comments and kudos and hits it has, you all do too.

Test Tube Zedaph AU: Yeah, it got really stressful. Especially at the end. The scheduling I did caused interest to dip significantly in between weeks and that was also discouraging. But I got stressed because I loved working on it and I loved the interaction. It was, for as much as I liked working on Fairly Odd Phil, so much better than it because I just had an all-around better experience crafting TTZAU and seeing people get happy and excited over it. I loved watching in real time as I make a post and people instantly come into the ask box asking follow-up questions. I love my funky little science experiment and his two dads. I love the issues and trauma that arise from that living condition and getting out and learning to be okay and being happy outside of those conditions. The wonders of learning about the world for the first time. The wonder of holding dirt in your hands as you stare at a sunset.

The Human Illusion AU: While you are my newborn, the youngest of the family I still love you all the same. I love the story I have planned. I love all the ways I'm telling that story. It's the first story that I'm posting publicly that I actually have a concept of shot comp and leading the eye and all these filming and animation-making techniques that I'm applying to these comics to make them easier to read and follow. I love the practice. And I love the story. You don't know the story and I love that too. I love showing you this story. I love posting chapter by interlude by chapter. I love my silly little train men. I love my bear cub story. I love making the hisuian language and adding language barriers after language barriers to put you guys in Ingo and Emmet's shoes so you just understand what they understand which is nothing. And I love trying to teach you all hisuian, one word a day.

Veernumbra AU: So, Veernumbra AU in this is special, as some might have a concept of. Veernumbra isn't one specific au, it's a personalized stock au. The rest of the world has its "Florest and Tattoo Artist" and "Coffee Shop" and "Royalty" aus. I have Veernumbra. Nearly every fandom I've been in since its conception has had a Veernumbra AU. I've had Veernumbra AU for what has to have been over 5 years. It'll be 6 years old this year. I have developed this world and concept so much over the years. It means so much to me. It's entirely my own. Which like kinda makes it hard to introduce as an au to a new audience because there's no basis for anyone to go off of. But I also kinda don't care. I love it. It's my baby. It's my oldest, my wisest, my sweetheart to the ends of the earth. I will never not love the time and care I've put into Veernumbra.

Excavated God AU: Dude I loved this story so much I made it an original story that I'm making a youtube series for.

In veernumbra, are Tommy and wilbur still Phil's au?or they don't really exist here?

This was really confusing but I think you were asking if Wil and Tommy were Phil’s kids? If so, yes! Techno, Wilbur, and Tommy are all Phil’s Sprites(what Veernumbra call their offspring).

Since techno is a former stagnumbra, and can’t shift very well, the rest of the family will shift into pig forms for family photos

What they wanted me to share was the Veernumbra version of the exile arc summarized nicely by this:

Dream be using this exile as a way to get high quality drugs from Tommy’s gas since Tommy has high levels of Terch in his system and thus would heighten Dream’s Terch far more than Eret’s gas (which has been doing previously because he’s a prick).

Due to the constant withdrawals from his form, Tommy has gotten significantly smaller

Which leads to...

Pain.

Hello I have veernumbra au questions because I’m starved and I miss it

1. How exactly did Jack dying and coming back to? The same as canon? Did he just lien almost stagnate but refused????

2. Would Las Nevadas exist here?

No cool monster design, but I did have it so that during doomsday, he took a nasty blow to his core and he now can’t generate an arm (I’m gonna design him a little prosthetic later and think about the technical aspects of how Veernumbra prosthetics work

More Veernumbra? More Veernumbra.

So Wil and Techno.

Look at those lads.

These lads are twins which is incredibly rare for Veernumbra and even rarer for both to live past Spritehood. Twins occur when a sprite is being formed and as it is, the Central Core System(CCS) begins to split and what would normally be a solid sphere becomes two fractured bits of the whole while any smaller bits disintegrate far too soon after creation for any sentient being to form.

Due to the broken state of the CCS that the two new sprites have, they incur a slew of health problems. The sprites will often have contrasting effects. If one is unable to use Reicho magic but is a master at Terch, the the other will most likely have a greater proficiency in Reicho while they are lacking in Terch.

Looking at Wilbur and Techno

Techno has some visual impairment in one eye, was born stagnant(don’t worry about that), only has small gaps in his form that he is unable to fill, and his CCS is always exposed.

Wilbur has a lot of gaps in his form that he is unable to fill (he wears human clothes to hide the pockets), is incredibly deficient in magic (particularly Terch and Heilm), and his CCS is in a constant state of instability (don’t worry about this either).

They are a pair of messes but Philza loves them anyway.

Due to his stagnation (don’t worry about it) Techno can’t shift his form without pain and incredible concentration, so he stays in his pig form nearly all the time. To make him feel better, Wil will also shift into a pig form since he is much looser than Techno.

(This is when Wil shifts clothes onto his form instead of manually wearing clothes)

Whenever Phil, Wil, and Techno would go out to any formal event, taking a photo, or are consciously meeting someone for the first time, they will all take pig forms so that they can cement themselves as a family to new people.

I believe in pig phil supremacy.

Tommy does this as well but I didn’t draw him so pllllllbbbbt later

I hope you liked this little au ramble. It was a lot of worldbuilding things and info that I tried not to go too far into as to not take up your entire day

In the Drugs animatic you can see full Veernumbra Ranboo in the background but after some thinking I thought it’d be cooler if he was a Humabreed like Fundy so we got two halfbreeds running around.

May I ask about the stagnumbras? I'm real curious about causes and/or how they work. Also, Idk if I got it right, but in a drawing of Veernumbra Techno there was a stagnumbra behind it that defnetly wasn't Tommy, and below that there was what I guess is Tommy "talking" to it... Is that Ranboo? Memory boy also is a stagnumbra? Or did I misunderstood and it's someone else/they can be manually made (since Techno has this Wither thing and having a beast as a kinda pet/friend is very Techno like)
