Trick or Treat!

Warning for Body Horror. This is not part two to Agee and Chei, and admittedly there is a reason beyond my terrible social skills.

A lot will be coming up! I will looking to getting a job and volunteer work to hopefully start earning money and experience to work on my passion project. I will also be learning to drive soon. So I will be a bit busy from my drawings and everything will take a lot longer to be made, plus I wish to finish my main projects first such as the rankings and the start of Atelo.

But there’s definitely the chance I’ll be busy from doing fanart for a while(though I hope to possibly draw the winners for the Submas Tournament) once we start getting things done. That being said, while I will be posting small things my today’s ranking from my brother on his favorites, I did have something on my mind after I realized I forgot to include this in my ask.

I am not milking Chimera Emmet; I am simply milking Submas angst because until Gamefreak gives them an ending, I’ll just assume the worst for the duo(I have drawn at least three ghost Ingo in this month alone)

I have drawn Ghost Emmet before…twice. One as a what if Emmet died during whatever event happened for Ingo to be taken to Hisui and remained in the Station as a friendly ghost npc you could challenge to a battle still. The other was a what if of Emmet being a Hisuian Zoura that was transported back to time when Ingo was a child, and took on his form. To his surprise the human he met was friendly, and the two’s facade of being twins to protect Emmet became genuine. But due to the remnants of rift energy in Emmet, it eventually led to Ingo being sucked into a rift(possibly because he was protecting Emmet from being sent back to the place he despised). Basically both stemmed from weird dreams.

But I remember that some animals, especially pets, are rumored to be able to see the dead. So my brain went wild and drew this art of @raisans-art Au(as I said, will probably be at least a couple weeks till I draw detailed fanart like this minus the possible tournament one due to the busy schedule. I love Chei and Agee but they are verrrry detailed bois) in one day about Ingo passed out from exhaustion and Agee seeings things

A much shorter comic but this one had dialogue this time and I didn’t want to make something to long. Hopefully I can continue churning out art and comics of all types of things, because I do genuinely enjoy doing these type of projects. “Does the name Zularti Vensar mean anything to you, m’lady?” Faye’s hands immediately went limp, dumbfounded. She forgot about the teacup she had been holding, fumbling and catching it before it completely upturned, but not without sloshing several drops of its contents onto her gloves and the pink tablecloth to stain the fabric. Had she misheard him?

“I thought it sounded familiar, but I couldn’t place it…” the Lalafell across the table continued thoughtfully, stroking his snowy white beard. Lord Raisan Arcmantle had been a friend and colleague for nearly a decade, and few could be as steadfast or capable, but perhaps his age was beginning to catch up to him. “Excuse me–I’m sorry, what?” the Midlander sputtered, unable to get any other words out. She took a moment to collect herself, quietly clearing her throat. “Why… why do you ask?” “We had a visitor here at the teahouse by that name a few days ago, and I showed him around. He said he was a member of the Harbingers of Dawn from the old days. I didn’t recognize him, but it’s been a long time, and my memory isn’t what it used to be… But he had his free company badge, and I know it as one I made by my own hand,” Raisan explained, and Faye did her best to keep up her calm veneer even as her head spun, finding little succeed in the endeavor.. “Zularti? That’s not… That’s not possible… He’s…” Her words trailed off, unable to bring herself to finish the thought, and she shook her head slowly. He couldn’t possibly be alive, could he? After all this time, all her searching, could he just show up out of the blue? It was the conclusion her heart leapt to, what she wished to be true more than anything else, but she couldn’t allow herself to entertain the idea and set herself up for such grave disappointment. So what was this, then? A cruel joke or veiled threat from someone who knew far too much? “What did this person look like?” The Lalafell continued to run his fingers along his goatee as he tried to recollect. “He was tall… but I suppose everyone is taller than me. My apologies, m’lady. I don’t remember much else that stood out. My memory is failing me.” Faye stared down at her teacup, her hands shaking. It took all her focus to be mindful of her Magitek prosthetic, to make certain she didn’t crush the porcelain beneath the metal digits. The conversation continued, but it felt so far away, the Hyur lost in her own thoughts. Raisan had given the visitor a tour and they reminisced. Raisan offered him a room to stay at the teahouse, but the man had refused. She would ask a question as casually as she could, and Raisan would offer a response that brought her no closer to the answers she truly wanted. Her dismay must have been so apparent from across the room that Drakkaern had taken notice and wandered over to her side to offer his comfort, and while some part of her was vaguely aware of his presence, she was too preoccupied to acknowledge the poor man with his hand upon her shoulder. “He did say he will return sometime. It should be easy to spot him if he does,” Raisan surmised. “We don’t get many Hrothgar around here.” Faye stared at him in disbelief. 

“Hrothgar?”

Does ingo do anything drastic to try and snap Emmet eel out of his funk?

hi going feral over brother's starter au. does tyna-mmet retain his human mind and memories?? does he know ingo is his twin? does he ever manage to adequately communicate what happened?? i Must Know

Emmet has all his memories, and cannot communicate his situation with Ingo due to him being a pokemon with no hands orz

Brothers starter is so messed up because even in the scenerio that Emmet gets to be human again, hes not been human for at least a decade. Can he even go back to living like that? Hes legally dead, he never finished school or made human connections outside of Ingo and even then the connection between a pokemon and human is far different from two humans. He doesnt really have a reason to try being human again apart from giving ingo back his twin, not even a reason for himself.

You can never go home again.

Can I ask about Emmets experience with evolving for the first time? How about when Ingo inevitably needed a pokeball for him?

ohhhh now I'm curious about Emmet's eelektross evolution. was it a moment of manic frustration "I'm already so far gone, might as well finish the job"? or a more calculated, thought-out reason? seeing how terrified he was after his first evo and what little we know of the aftereffects of his second, I can't help but wonder why he chose to go through with it... :<?

In the beginning, Emmet was vehemently against evolving further. The thought of completely forgetting how to be human? Terrifying to him.

Alas.. that means he’s an unevolved pokemon. While Ingo managed to get through the elite four with Emmet as an Eelektrik, once he started working at gear station…

Ingo needed pokemon that he felt confident in using to help suppress immediately dangerous situations, and he didn’t want his unevolved pokemon getting caught in a bind he can’t muscle his way out of. He just wanted to keep his starter (and in Ingo’s mind, the pokemon that his twin left behind for him) safe.

After a month of being left in the apartment, Emmet finally decided that he needed to evolve, because otherwise he would just keep drifting further away from his brother. He didn’t want to evolve, but he felt like he had to. That conflict of interest still made him depressed post evolution because he didn’t truly want this, and he lost the last shred of humanity that he was clinging to.

Ingo came home to an Eelektross, staring lethargically up at him.

If Ingo and Emmet argued beforehand does that mean Ingo thinks Emmets disappearance is his fault?

Oh absolutely gamers. It’s a thought he struggles with for his whole life, but his parents made sure he was able to go to therapy so later in life it’s only the occasional intrusive thought

Emmett losing humanity? That's depressing but also delicious angst

Very delicious indeed :)

You see, pokemon minds aren’t build to retain the same abilities and faculties as a human mind. While being a Tynamo, Emmet didn’t feel these effects immediately (though his humanity and cognizance began eroding at a slower rate). Due to the drastic metamorphosis of evolution, the process is sped up significantly, losing a large chunk of what made Emmet a human person. Coherence of thought, old muscle memory, memory itself, language comprehension, etc. By the time Emmet is about 3 months into being an Eelektross, his mind has well and truly lost all hold on his experience and ability to be a human being. He’s been a pokemon for far too long for it to matter anyway, and he’s left with the long faded memories of when Ingo and him were brothers and when he walked on legs. Like watching old recordings of yourself, knowing you are fundamentally different from the person in the footage, and you only vaguely remember what it was like to be that small.

Emmet wants to be there for Ingo at every moment, but theres no way he doesnt also go through some serious depression when he finally accepts hes never going to be human again, or get Ingo to recognize him. Ingo must get pretty worried when his starter just starts laying around all day barley eating or acknowledging any attempts to play or train. But Emmet doesnt get therapy because hes just a pokemon :')

Emmet definitely has a hard time grappling with that concept, and his evolution to Eelektross is kinda the final straw for him.

now I’m wondering what the rest of Ingo’s team is looking like. im sure Emmet loves battling but… does he ever wish he was directing pokemon like a Ingo sometimes?

Here’s Ingo’s team at the start of his journey. While Tynamo(Emmet) was Ingo’s starter, the twins were supposed to get Klinks as their starters. While one of Klinks Ingo ends up using on his team about half-way through his journey, the other is benched permanently. He tries to take care of it the best he can though. Along the way, he picks up a Litwick, an Axew, a Dwebble, and an Archen.

Emmet is definitely caught in the learning curve of being the pokemon, not the trainer at the beginning.

But he grows into it :)
