Why do you only adopt blind dogs?
Longer answer, there are a lot of dogs with very manageable disabilities that get euthanized or left in shelters.
Shadow was found abandoned in a dog crate in a trash pile with her mom and brother; her blindness is likely the result of animal cruelty. Loki is the product of a backyard breeder trying to create designer dogs, and then abandoned an entire litter of blind dogs by the road in the summer. Loki was born without eyes, and every other dog from his litter has died due to health complications
They don't deserve the start they had, but we can make sure that the rest of their life is a lot better
For a shorter answer-
Honestly, because just look at them
#loki lore#shadow lore#animal cruelty tw#animal harm tw#my husband beemovieerotica#literally I had to look through hundreds of dogs to find blind ones#but it worked out since the only other person interested in Shadow was an influencer#with no experience with blind dogs#vashti is also disabled#she has deformed front paws

I guess I'm back on Tumblr now so here are some life updates from the last few years:
turns out The Terror is OCD
turns out The Debilitating Pain is occipital neuralgia
turns out the inability to breathe wasn't COVID, so I apologize to anyone who saw Vashti's post back then and got worried; instead it's asthma that appeared at the beginning of the pandemic for extra confusion
the government now agrees that I'm disabled. my psychiatrist was flabbergasted that I even had to send in for reconsideration, but there's a long story behind it that basically boils down to, I'm so OCD that the OCD almost stopped me from having my OCD recognized by Social Security
turns out @vashtijoy is my queerplatonic partner. we didn't so much agree to be QPPs as we were like, "hey, I think we might already be QPPs?" "oh shit u right" although I still also call her my best friend sometimes because I like that term too
I've been very wrapped up in my OCs. love them very much. someday I will finish my story that technically has one (1) AU Boueibu character in it but is basically an original story. no one will read it, but I will have written it!!!! the others I wrote aren't really publishable for one reason or another
I may also start writing for Persona 5 soon, haven't totally decided though
October before last, a couple of sad, cold, starving kittens came up to my apartment door and meowed pitifully for food. I failed to find their owner, and then I failed to take them to a shelter, and then I lied to the neighbors who I said I'd give them to if I couldnt find their owner, because I wanted them. so now they're my cats
Kitties under readmore.
This is Sky. She's a tiny little baby because she was very sick when I found her so she wasn't able to spend her kitten energy on growing, but she's okay now! She's relaxed and friendly compared to her sister, and she has cute little fangs. Twice a day, every time I take meds, she jumps up on the counter and spends the whole time getting in my way, harassing me for pets and kisses. She's currently being tormented by the onesie because she pulled out her stitches after her spaying and had to get staples.
And this is Cirrus. She's more skittish and high-strung and particular about things than Sky, but generally gives me fewer problems with her health. The one exception is that she loves eating things she shouldn't, so one time we had to go to the kitty ER to get a string taken out of her stomach. She always lets me know when Skysky has gotten stuck somewhere, and she's happiest when she can lie with her head upside-down.

Because I'm not good at drawing buildings & I want to show that "my" elves are not complete ripoffs of Tol.kien, here's a post explaining Yllelune. I'll add more and update this post as I think of things.
APPEARANCE
The city is spread along the edge of a South-facing cliff. Immediately around it is a grassy field, which in turn is surrounded by forest. The cliff itself is probably about 400ft ( 122 meters ). Railings all along the cliffside. Most of the architecture is rounded; the buildings, doorways, etc. Elves are driven by their sense of community, ergo it's better to have a circular room where all the furniture can face each other, rather than having everyone positioned at odd angles in your living room. They also build with the lanscape, so you'll see some houses at odd elevations, and the walkways can be tricky in some areas. The buildings. Are. COLORFUL. Not stark white. A lot of them will have vines, bushes, or trees growing along the side. They don't have many statues, but the few they do have are in full color — aside from some weathering and maybe bird... waste... because that can't be helped. The streets are lit by lantern posts at night. It's magic.
NOTABLE LOCATIONS
Va’Farhe Guinnal ( lit. "The Water Watching" ), or The Overlook. This is a large, crescent-shaped plaza that looks out over the bay, as the name would suggest. The plaza floor is made of colorful masonry, some shells, inlaid plant impressions, maybe some paw prints and stuff from when it was drying. It has a few benches. This is where a lot of big events happen, like feasts or parties. Boer em va’Lamesama ( lit. "Court of the People" ), or City Hall. This building is normally located at the center of elven cities and Yllelune is no exception. It towers over most of the other buildings and has multiple floors. The first floor ( ground level ) serves as a visitor's center or meeting area. The second floor is a court room. Third floor is a library that contains the entire history of Yllelune in nonfiction, along with general reading in plenty of genres. The rooftop serves as a nice public space for hanging out. There is also a basement with cells, should someone be imprisoned; this is extremely rare in Yllelune, considering they rarely have outside visitors, and at the moment citizens are happy. Va'Wara ( lit. "The Market" ). This is a long, winding street that serves as the shopping district. If you can name it, you can find it. Two of Rhoss' best friends, Vashti & Glanduil, have businesses here. Vashti is a blacksmith and Glanduil is a woodworker. They both contribute pieces to Rhoss' shop as well and split the profit. There are other places like gardens, schools, restaurants, et cetera, but these are the main ones.
ACCESSIBILITY
Given elves' magical prowess, disabled individuals need not worry! Buildings with multiple floors will have portals to each floor. Simply look for the ornate floor-length mirrors — rather than your reflection, you will see the location it takes you to after stepping / wheeling inside. Due to the varying terrain, steep inclines or staircases will also have portals nearby. They have their own version of Braille, which unfortunately would not be very helpful to those unfamiliar with Elvish. They don't get many non-elf visitors, so there is no need to branch out yet. Those with hearing issues normally have an interpreter with them. There is a small deaf community in Yllellune who have created a unique sign language. If one's needs have not been met, they can bring their concerns to City Hall. Chances are it will be solved within a few days since the community is closely knit.

vashti-lives replied to your post: Someone mentioned a dragon AU of Will and Charlie.... oh no that second option is so amazing and sad… starrla89 replied to your post: Someone mentioned a dragon AU of Will and Charlie.... Dragon Charlie, yes!!!
Just in a penthouse or something (which he hates because stairs, but he loves the old building, and of course owns it, and secretly thinks of his tenants as his) and maybe he doesn’t have the limp, but he’s a dragon with no (emotional) treasure, which to dragons is a disability.
aaaahhhhhhh
But if Will is a young, somewhat immature dragon, imagine the confusion when he wants Charlie to be his boy, but also for Charlie to dom him. ah.
