so i started this show and it just gets worse and worseeeee not only did it lift the romance subplot directly from twilight (and not well) but they also are trying to play the forbidden love angle hard in the fantasy racism vein except it's a "cross-species" relationship between the two whitest people i've ever seen in my life and there are three people of color in the whole (first season of the) show who aren't villains and it seems that every other episode (and sometimes ebery episode and sometimes twice an episode!) there is a man physically or magically subjugating a woman and i keep waiting for the big reveal at the end to be stolen from fucking rainbow rowell

If I have energy I want to draw out some designs for an au I'm spontaneously writing.

(Medieval times, there's a Prophecy. Nightmare rules over this kingdom and is supposed to complete this prophecy, he refuses to because it would harm the people. Dream was sent away and banished by Night because he was dis-illusioned into thinking the prophecy was a Good Thing abd what he was raised to complete. Night collected his Knights (Killer, Dust, Horror, and Cross most recently) and trains them and tells them the truth of the prophecy. They're loyal to him. One day the magic of the prophesy (Apple Magic) leaves Nightmare unexpectedly, returning him to the state he was in before he accepted the mantle. This puts a target on his back and gives Dream a huge advantage in maybe making a comeback. The Knight's decide that their King (newly a young lad and variably scared and frightened) must be protected and they run the kingdom as he normally would, while also ensuring he survives and that the prophecy can't be completed.)

no hes fucking crazy because he will have u wrapped around his finger, at his beck & call, but he’d rather eat a brick than ask u for any sort of attention . he frequently gets in the way of himself. like he is soooo lame. you could ask him on a date to study over coffee and he’d be like “umm lmfao as if i’d want help from you” all snarky and then he’d go home and imagine what it’d be like to go on a date with u . that’s the level of insane he is like these are the hurdles we have to surmount.

So! Most of what I’m writing for him right now is real vague because I am ✨struggling with feeling cringe✨ about him JGSHD

But I’ll give you what I got

Originally!! He was an ace attorney fan character! He currently is and isn’t

I like having fan characters but I end up using them so much they spiral into their own thing so I’m just preemptively splitting him into his own character and Ace Attorney au

With that tho-! He’s a defence attorney :}

Bailey is a good guy! He’s very silly

He swaps out his fake eye a lot for different colours and types, he has a few gimmicky/novelty ones that usually make people do a double take when they see em

He likes to make jokes about “character customisation”

And he especially loves to fuck with people that don’t know about the eye or if they ask he’ll give a different batshit reason as to why he lost it in the first place, and then not elaborate

I don’t want to touch on how he actually lost his eye n got his scars for too long-! But I will mention that he was in an accident as a kid

He’s lived his life a lot longer with his scars than without them, and he doesn’t really remember not having them- so they don’t bother him really!

Outside of his work life Bailey is more of a quiet, stay at home kinda guy

He doesn’t go out of his way to avoid anyone or going out with them, and he will go places if he’s invited

But he’s fairly introverted! He definitely can only really recharge when he’s alone
