Once the opening sentence is identified, the next step is to find pairs of sentences that naturally follow each other. This can be done by recognizing continuity in ideas. Transition words like however, furthermore, therefore, hence, or pronouns such as he, she, and it, help in linking the sentences.

For example, if Sentence A introduces a topic and Sentence B expands on it with “For instance,” or “Moreover,” then B logically follows A.

4. Spot Transition Words and Pronouns

Transition words signal relationships between sentences, such as cause and effect, contrast, or continuation. Words like yet, but, consequently, or thus often indicate a connection between two sentences. Varcolac Squadron Headcanons:

- All of them grew up together as child soldiers. This meant that Sulejmani had to become a single father of four (including himself) at the ripe old age of 16. It’s also why they all seem so supportive of him. He’s their brother-dad.

- Kiriakov is the youngest. While the others banded together quickly, it took a while for him to trust them enough to come around.

- Gaviria is a picky eater. It’s usually not the taste that bothers him, but the texture.

- Sulejmani is the tallest, followed by Kiriakov, Gaviria and Oruma. Oruma is just a tiny bit taller than Crimson Hawk.

- Since they’re all from different parts of the world, any conversation is liable to change from one language to the next quite casually.

- Sulejmani’s hair is actually really matted. I’m not sure he can still untie it. When they befriend Hawk she spends an hour trying to untangle it.

- He’s much younger than he looks, actually. Not sure how old the Varcs are, but Sulejmani’s gray hairs are from stress. A lot of it.

- Sulejmani hates Antares because Antares has everything he didn’t, and yet he still chose to become a mercenary. Sulejmani was forced down this path because he didn’t have what Antares did, and so resents him for, in his eyes, “throwing away everything he had”. He considers Antares a tourist who does this for fun. Feels jealous too.

- Aforementioned opinion gets a new perspective after meeting Hawk, who also chose to become a mercenary. He says it’s different with her, though. Hawk was chasing freedom in her own way.

- Since they neither got to have a real childhood nor got to grow up, they’ll all act like children occasionally. Such as: Varc has no idea how to grocery shop. It’s all junk food and sweets and instant noodles. And alcohol.

- Sulejmani’s favorite fruit are oranges. Oruma likes kiwis. Gaviria enjoys peaches and Kiriakov is a grape kinda guy. Camera cuts to Hawk chewing a lemon whole

Mois du doc à Varces

Dans le cadre du Mois du Film Documentaire, gros coup de cœur en approche à la bibliothèque de Varces : IL BUCO de Michelangelo Frammartino.

1961, c’est l’époque où en Italie et ailleurs, le monde rêve plus grand et plus haut. A Milan, la tour Pirelli est érigée ; Bonatti a gravi le K2 ; Gagarine a fait son petit tour dans des étoiles.

A contresens de cette mégalomanie, dans l’anonymat le plus total, un groupe de jeunes spéléologues explorent dans le massif du Pollino ce qui fut à l’époque la deuxième grotte la plus profonde sur terre : l’Abîme de Bifurto. Un vieux berger semble les observer. Ce qui se joue alors à l’écran croise à la fois la matérialité et le mystérieux.

Le réalisateur italien - coutumier du fait - nous invite à sortir des discours et de l’explicite. Au-delà des genres et des étiquettes, Il Buco est un film qui ne s’appuie ni sur le dialogue, ni sur la musique pour créer de l’intensité. Qu’elles soient la montagne calabraise ou la peau du vieil ermite, la caméra nous offre des topographies tangibles.

A leurs côtés, le gouffre – dans lequel Frammartino et son équipe ont bien dû descendre plusieurs heures – est hors-champ passionnant. Avec Renato Berta à la photographie et à Simone Paolo Olivero au son, toute l’équipe a dû apprivoiser le noir et l’écho.

Chaque plan d’Il Buco devient alors une véritable incantation. Voilà bien l’objet même du cinéma.

Sulejmani is the only one with an official design and I actually like it, but I’d already made my own when I saw it and I’m too attached, I prefer mine.

Thinking about how Haris' aspects/alters (specifically Michael and Lyspawn) crave the familiarity of the pain of their past. How Haris himself still craves to be nothing but a puppet to Kingsley again, how he desperately wishes he could go back to being broken because its so much more familiar then this new feeling of being whole, of having agency.

How Michael actively seeks to reignite their relationship with their father because he feels like their father was correct and also because he craves the snese of routine their father gave. How he wishes, desperately, to go back to that because despite the pain he knew it. He understood it.

I also think about how Lyspawn whenever he pops up in rps always craves the abuse and training and relentless pain they went through because he loves rigidity. He loves being the dog, who didn't have to be anything but a dog. Because he knows what he is now is just some pale comparison to the saint, to Haris, to the complete identity in them he will never be.
