#varano #montepulciano Un ottimo Montepulciano marchigiano che è una delle più belle espressioni della denominazione. Ottima complessità ed equilibrio anche se stappare il 2017 è quasi un peccato xchè l'alcol spinge molto ed ancora 2-3 anni in bottiglia lo renderebbero ancora più rotondo ed armonico. Comunque una bella esplosione di frutta nera matura ed in confettura con un sfondo di erbaceo e spezia dolce. Una buona freschezza che pulisce bene ed una piacevole persistenza. Happy to announce that I finally settled on a gang name for "the mafia", so I can fucking finally stop calling them "the mafia":

Those are just some goons with canon appearance but holy hell we desperately need some more diversity in here......and tattoos.

The name Los Varanos (which is spanish for monitor lizards btw) is a little nod to my Atrea version of Rod. Monitor lizards are nasty fuckers and I thought it suits the gang.

I had some fun with finding cool fonts for the name. Some members 100% have one of the Fraktur fonts tattooed.

I could talk about the gang all day.

Maserati MCXtrema Hits the Track Ahead of First Delivery

Maserati MCXtrema, the Trident's uncompromising 730-hp ‘beast’ has returned to be unleashed into its natural environment: the track. It will be undergoing a series of tests until late April, aiming at the delivery of the first model, planned for late summer 2024.

MCXtrema, a non-road-homologated race car produced in 62 units, was created to break the mould and invent new paradigms. The epitome of Maserati DNA and of the extraordinary performance characteristic of everything the 100% Italian brand produces, MCXtrema offers up evidence of its disruptive attitude to racing between the curbs of the circuit where it could be seen in action in a series of fundamental tests to gather the data needed for the final tune-ups. The Trident’s exclusive creation is one of the brand’s boldest cars in terms of development and is an evolution of the Maserati MC20 super sports car, its inspiration and basis.

In February, it had its first official outing at the Autodromo Varano de' Melegari (Parma), where MCXtrema was taken to the track by Maserati chief test driver Andrea Bertolini, one of the most successful drivers in the GT class with four world titles aboard the glorious MC12, who has been working on its development in the dynamic simulator since the early stages.

The February shakedown and subsequent milestones to refine its performance have been the ideal setting to unleash the full power of the 730-hp (540-kW) 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, based on the Maserati Nettuno and taken to the next level.

Bangkok: sei un bel casino

È successo!

Con poche ore di sonno e qualche foglia d’alloro ancora sulla testa, abbiamo finalmente posato i piedi in terra thailandese.

Bangkok ci ha accolte alle 6 del mattino, offrendoci un assaggio della sua umidità e mostrandoci fin da subito le sue mille sfumature.

Dopo tre giorni nella città posso affermare di averne esplorato: meno di un decimo. 

Nonostante ne abbia conosciuta una parte irrisoria, mi sono innamorata della Bangkok più autentica e genuina, con le sue viuzze dove a tratti sembra di essere stati catapultati negli anni ‘80.

Quartieri in cui eravamo le uniche straniere, con le casette di lamiera e la porta aperta che ci regalava uno sguardo sull’intima quotidianità degli abitanti. 

Ma Bangkok ha molteplici facce ed è così che si alternano quartieri di vita semplice e povera, a grattacieli e viali immensi. 

Ci sono strade così ampie e vuote che mi ricordano gli enormi spazi dell’Oman, e affianco puoi trovare aree così dense di persone che diventa difficile respirare.

È una città che cerca di stare al passo con la modernità e che tenta di adattarsi ai ritmi frenetici e alla domanda dei turisti, ma che trova ancora spazio per la fascia più povera della popolazione.

Tra Tuk-tuk e motorini, tempi buddhisti ed induisti,  qualche varano e qualche blatta, l’umidità che ti stende, gli innumerevoli 7 eleven e la gentilezza dei suoi abitanti, ringraziamo Bangkok che stiamo per salutare per il momento.

Questa città ha mille contraddizioni, e forse mi piace così tanto perché in questo è così simile a me.

Ma adesso, è ora delle menzioni d’onore per:

~ Pan, il maestro delle elementari conosciuto al tempio del Buddha che sorride, che ci ha mostrato come fare una piccola preghiera.

~ Thai Airway, volo comodo e cibo okay, ma soprattutto quante cavolo sono belle le divise del personale di volo con vestiti tradizionali!!!!!

~ La capacità dei thailandesi di dormire in qualunque luogo e in bizzarre posizioni, incuranti degli sguardi altrui, con la maglietta sollevata sulla pancia.

~ Turistica ma interessante, ChinaTown a Bangkok non ha niente a che vedere con quella di Milano.

~ Il compleanno del defunto Re Rama IX celebrato il 5 dicembre, grazie al quale le autostrade sono gratuite per un giorno e le strade sono piene del suo faccione (forse però queste ci sono tutto l’anno). 

~ Khao Sao Road…che dire…più che una via è sembrato di stare in un buco nero. Venditori di ragni fritti che te li sventolano sotto il naso, spogliarelliste, coccodrilli squartati, PR che ti assaltano, musica altissima. È stata un’esperienza bizzarra, 100% turistica ma pur sempre un’esperienza.

~ Chailoy - probabilmente non si scrive così - la nostra guida spirituale all’ostello Here Hostel, con uno stile pazzesco e una dolcezza meravigliosa.

Infondo, Bangkok è come questa signora che vende ravioli…

…sembra che quel piccolo dito ti stia mandando a fanculo, ma se guardi con attenzione sta solo indicando se stessa per ricordarti quando sia graziosa e speciale. 🌺🌿

PS: Non ho ancora ben imparato a contrattare, ma ci sto lavorando. Seguiranno aggiornamenti.
