Not the Vanitas vol. 11 cover equaling Noé's desire for tarte Tatin locked behind the mirror, unable to touch it, for his desire for Vanitas.
(EDIT: SPECIAL VARIANT COVER! NOT OFFICIAL COVER!)
Bc Vanitas is the center of the cover, focus et all. It's the homemade by Vani Tarte Tatin and how it symbolizes their budding relationship and feelings. Vanitas serious face incongruous with Noé stars in his eyes. His clothes which aren't the typical he wears but his secondary/emergency ones, which we saw on that chapter he and Dominique commiserate about their feelings for Noé and the clothes thing is very heavily linked to identity and specifically a sense of security for Vani.
Holy shit. Vani is not dressing as Vanitas for this cover. He's not smirking or putting a front. He's holding up that Tarte Tatin as himself.
I'm gonna start clawing, climbing my walls. Mochijun!!!!??
The sandtimer earring is completely insignificant when usually is super prominent for Vani artwork! It's there but you miss it on first sight.
Murr is also behind the window/mirror with Noé! SUS! IT'S SO SUS!
Am I paranoid or just suitably scared of Mochijun ability to foreshadow? Who knows. Not me for sure.
I'm still reeling about how obvious this cover makes Noé attachment to Vanitas and viceversa. Come on! The way we all know those stars in the eyes are for the Tarte Tatin, but also Vanitas blood and the relationship Noé has/wants with him.
Mochijun!!!!!!!

I don't have a title for this but it's regarding whether Noé will or will not drink Vanitas blood
I'm sure most people in the case study of Vanitas fandom have agreed on the fact that Noé will, most likely, drink Vanitas blood before he will inevitably die. This short post is just me stating "evidence" regarding the matter.
So, as we all know, Vanitas does not want Noé to drink his blood because he is an archiviste. Makes sense. Besides the fact that it's to keep Vanitas mysterious in general, he himself has stated in an extra chapter (they were discussing the Birthdays of the main cast) that he does not like such information to be revealed to strangers, if I remember correctly. Now, I know that Noé and Vanitas are far from strangers, but it's Vanitas we are talking about here, come on.
Now, I know that in some animanga it's just an artistic choice to have the characters speak about the present as if it's the past, but Mochijun never does something without a reason behind it. So far, I think there have been three occasions where Noé spoke in past tense (of which I only have screenshots of two of them.)
Number one:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the first chapter. It is revealed that Noé will kill Vanitas, but it spoken about as if it happened in the past. Now I know, artistic choice, but hold on.
Number two:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In chapter eleven (I think??) It happened again. Noé is talking about Vanitas passing.
What I am trying to get at, is that the whole story of case study of Vanitas is portrayed from Noé's point of view and it only (or mostly) contains scenes where Noé was present. Except for a few scenes with domi and flashbacks of Vanitas past. Now what do the two of them have in common based on this post? Both are the people Noé has drank or will drink the blood of.
Dominique is obvious and Vanitas just makes sense.
Maybe during Vanitas's "dying breath", Noé thought of what jean-jacques said here
Tumblr media
and wanted to remember Vani as best as he could, not wanting to forget him but also wanting to understand him, even (or especially) after his passing.
Or Vanitas thought about it and, deep down, wanted someone to remember his story. The complete story.
Now Imagine Vanitas in Noés arms, slowly dying (maybe bleeding out), Noé viewing Vani's memories and during Vanitas dying breath, Noé whisper his real name. Damn now I made myself sad.
So yea, that's about it I think?? I know this is all pretty obvious, but I still wanted to get it out of my system. Also, I apologize for any grammar mistakes or language errors, it is the middle of the night and english is not my native language.

my favorite headcanon is that the dhampirs help set vanitas up on dates (and he doesn't know about them).
bc dante always gets an earful of vanitas' oblivious rambles about noe, and he definitely recounts this to riche and johann at dinner, who strong arm him into setting them up (johann's a romantic and riche has definitely read her fair share of romance books for this.)
like can you imagine vanitas and noe just going about their day and dante and the dhams run up to him and are like "holy shit you gotta come quick; we got information on a cursebearer for you and they're stirring up a lot of trouble!" and they give them a location or something and it's a restaurant with a reservation in vanitas' name? and the dhams are definitely spying on their date from a bush or something.

okay but what if vanitas dying simply means that noe kills the monicker "vanitas" and vani leaves on as his true name, free from the blue moon altogether,,,

case study of vanitas relationship chart because i can and i'm actually 100% correct on this
Tumblr media
thoughts and feelings are that vanitas (unfortunately) gets bitches. god knows how. him and domi are such a funny pairing to me there's no canon evidence but i just think they'd be the worst ever
noe and domi never feels romantic to me. it feels like they keep trying to commit to it and then realising the pair of them dont click. but i'll definitely take friends with benefits for them in any interpretation of that term.
jeanne and noe being queer platonic partners or something else in the middle is another thing that doesn't have much going for it canonically but i just think it's very entertaining. no one knows. no one asks. but everyone's quite happy with the situation they are at
jeanne and domi are obviously together. thats a no brainer

I could make a whole-ass dissertation about how the fact Noé is the one to kill Vanitas could be seen as a metaphor/analogy for them being in love with each other.
