hands are never idle even if the mind rests. as donna listens attentively to the lady's spiel ( for alcina certainly compensates for the dollmaker's lack of words by filling the void with her own ) her fingertips enact a gentle dance through the air, watching through veiled countenance as the porcelain counterpart responds in tandem. angie is, by all accounts, an extension of herself but to any would - be beholders she functions as fluidly as if she were separately animate. the tittering giggles of the doll are stifled by a digit coming up to where ( one would imagine ) donna's mouth sits prim and proper behind the black fabric, diaphanous and hushing. no audible shhh is uttered but still the doll obediently quietens, an apologetic bow of the ventriloquist's head toward the countess encouraging her to continue her rant. it is better if these thoughts are vented in safe company, rather than risk provoking the godly wrath of heisenberg ( or worse, miranda ) later. occhio non vede, cuore non duole. what the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't feel. angie pipes up, shrill voice a knife in the otherwise dulcet air. the artificial gaze of the plaything is piercing, but certainly nothing lady dimitrescu hasn't dealt with before.
❛ —my mistake ! you were saying . . . ? ❜
@vale-decem. for lady dimitrescu. ♡

🌷 -> no one's ever had me...not like you, said fiyero (@vale-decem).
Tumblr media
there's this deep silence that settles between the two, as the wind takes away the echo of fiyero's words. however, she can't just brush him off, as she normally would: no, what he said, it cut deep into her, right down to her soul. not because of what he said, as elphaba might as well be the thousandth girl in oz to be the recipient of such flattery, but how he said it ― quietly, defeatedly, almost. and, for a second, elphaba dared to believe they were on the same page: finding themselves wishing desperately to not feel anything for the other, and failing miserably.
however, who were they kidding? with or without the poignant sincerity, there was not a world in which a monster like her and a prince like him could go hand in hand, professing their love. it just couldn't be ― no, their love would be cursed to sit beside every ounce of joy or desire she'd had in her life: in the shadows. ❝ i ― i don't know what you're referring to, fiyero. you're with galinda. that's who you love, and that's how it should be. ❞ elphaba declares, fighting back the tears from emerging over her emerald eyes, dusting off her skirt as she stands up in the forest ground to make her exit.

Listening to instrumentals from the silly doo-wee-ooo show is actually something that can be so painful.
#doctor who#doctor who music#murray gold#segun akinola#musings about music#this is specifically about 10's theme in vale decem. the long song in 11's regen piece. and clara's theme in face the raven / clara's diner#i get psychic damage everytime i simply hear the use of the motifs elsewhere because of the tragic associations those sadder renditions hav#obviously these songs aren't the only examples in doctor who but they are by far the most emotionally devastating ones for me personally#and obviously it isn't just leitmotifs either. basically hearing any piece that played during a sad scene gets to me.#how are you supposed to explain to your coworkers that you're tearing up because of instrumental sound association?#'yeah sorry these violins and humming sounds summoned vivid images of my favourite character dying/leaving and it made me sad'#love that composers can just straight up pavlov bell your emotions by getting you to associate a melody with a sad scene#an addition to this is doctor who instrumentals that make me nostalgic because I associate them with my own past#like 'this is gallifrey: our childhood. our home'. that song was one of my alarms for a good long while back when i was 15ish#so it kinda transports me back to that time in my life whenever i hear it. music really is its own little kind of time travel#i am very much looking forward to the continuing psychological damage murray gold will inflict upon me in the new season#and to have previously uplifting character leitmotifs used against me and forever be contaminated with sad feelings. love to see it#(also: not a instrumental but damn 'the stowaway' has no right being as good as it is. who knew a christmas sea shanty could sound so great#apologies for this probably niche-ish post (is it niche to know ost title's by heart? asking for friend). just feeling things about music

I was watching Doctor Who for the millionth time and I realized something
the eleventh doctor always says "never ignore a coincidence unless you're busy"
and that could have come from what happened to Donna.
around her was an acquaintance who took her to the Tardis, to the doctor and to all the events that would lead her to the episode "Journey's End".
the doctor didn't see the coincidences and when I went he didn't care. He only realized what was happening at the end (actually the clone that came from his hand noticed it first)
So it must have been after these events that he started using that phrase.
it was probably just "never ignore a coincidence", but since the doctor is the doctor he had to have this condition.

I listened to Murray Gold and a wasp entered my room during vale decem. I sent it away with the amazing chorus in the background feeling like a warrior fighting a dragon with my shiny armour (pink Floyd shirt) and my trustful sword (a broom) to save the princess (The Hamilton Funko it landed on)
