AITA for posting unspecified fetish content?

I'll try to keep the exposition short. I draw and post sweat fetish content on Twitter. My account has NSFW/"adult only" warnings and I block any minors that I see. Recently, I posted a drawing of two characters exercising together; there were no explicit genitals or anything, but it still had obvious kink elements. I don't usually tag my kink art with any content warnings as it was pretty run-of-the-mill for what I post on that account. Something worth nothing is I tend to draw for one main fandom. It's a family friendly media with a good chunk of it's online fanbase being kids. The characters I draw are adults.

When I checked my notifications a while after it was posted, I noticed one of my drawings got more interactions than usual. I usually get around 100-200 likes on my art, and this one had around 400 when i checked. I saw a lot of new accounts in my notifications, too. I went through the likes on the post and, unfortunately for me, the post had breached containment and entered normie territory. At first I thought it was funny, but as I looked a bit further I saw there were minors interacting and retweeting my art onto their main, SFW accounts. Obviously not good.

So, I posted about what happened in a NSFW fandom discord server in a sort of "this weird thing happened to me and I don't know how to feel about it" way. It ended up starting a bit of an argument in there, with some people laughing it off as normies just not knowing better and others viewing it as an oversight on my end.

Anyways, after a bit of back and forth (I was just kind of watching people talk about it), a server member K replied to my original message with a multiple paragraph long message saying that what I did was dangerous. He said that hiding fetishes in SFW art is a breach of consent (which, for the record, is a sentiment I generally agree with) and claimed that what I did is the same thing groomers do to desensitize kids to sexual content. I responded by saying that I posted my fetish content to a fetish account and one glance at my profile makes it clear my art is not meant to be viewed by kids. He responded to me saying that if I was truly worried about preventing grooming, I would've taken the post down. The argument stopped there because that's when the mods stepped in, asking people to take it to DMs. I did end up deleting and reposting the drawing, but not before I saw K vagueposting about fetish mining in the fandom we're both in.

Should I be more clear when it comes to posting fetish content that isn't explicitly sexual? I honestly feel like it's an overreaction on K's part, but I do understand the anxiety around being accused of grooming. And, unfortunately, trying to "trick" people into making fetish content isn't uncommon online either, so I do get where he's coming from there. Overall, I just want to make sure I didn't do anything predatory on accident.

Zoro streams his workouts on insta but often forgets to turn off the stream, leading to everyone seeing his completely empty apartment. His chat is full of simps but he doesn't actually know how to open it and never connected it to his bank account to receive donations. He's been invited onto various podcasts but has never responded to any of their emails. Most of his workout advice is just to lift heavier weights.

Nami is actually not a hot tub streamer, but she constantly jokes in her just chatting streams that the next stream will be one. Clips of her raging in Valorant have gone viral several times in spite of how she preaches kindness and respect, but she's always managed to get away with an apology video. She secretly posts on 4chan to argue with her haters.

Usopp is a variety streamer who's an absolute god in every shooter he plays. He trash talks like crazy in voice chat and several of his questionably true rants about how he's the best player ever or going to show up at his opponent's house have become memes. Sound clips of his terrified screams while playing horror games have become memes as well, and he hates it. He's actually active in his community discord, and frequently reacts to its meme channel.

Sanji posts recipe videos, clips and screenshots of which regularly do numbers on twitter for how amazing they look. The restaurant he works at requires reservations six months in advance because of how much he's boosted it's profile. A reality show once did an episode on him that revealed not just the way he belittles chefs who fuck up, but the biased treatment he gives to women. He can't shake that reputation, but is trying to be better. He's recently moved to tiktok and gotten a brand new boost of fans.

Chopper first appeared as an expert guest on various podcasts, and then started youtube videos explaining basic medical concepts. But somehow, fan comments convinced him to start making videos like "Doctor Plays MINECRAFT for the first time?" He believes every single fake rumor about Herobrine.

Robin posts her history lectures online and is beloved by students around the world for how understandable she makes complex topics. Her videos are very popular as unintentional ASMR. Otherwise, she mostly avoids social media, but you'll occasionally see her networking on academic twitter and vagueposting about how hard she works and how much she wishes things were easier. Secretly, she's active on AO3 and is known for her hundreds of angsty hurt/comfort fics in just about every fandom you can imagine.

Franky runs a DIY engineering youtube channel where he posts the most insane inventions. His titles are all along the lines of "POLICE SHOWED UP AT MY HOUSE? SUUUUPER TRUCK WITH MOUNTED CANNON BUILD!!!" He does AMAs on reddit every year and ends every single comment with SUUUUUUPER.

Brook is a popular musician online, but doesn't have a youtube channel of his own. He's known for rock covers of classical pieces and his concerts sell out completely, but the only videos of him are posted by fans. The only way he actually communicates with fans is on facebook, where he's active to this day, mostly to post puns.

Jimbei hosts a political podcast where he talks primarily about minority rights, but he takes on guests with a variety of views for the sake of open debate. He's ratioed political figures on twitter many times. He travels frequently and posts about it on his blog.

Here on Twitter there are people who constantly slander their writing, some even saying he should be fired and replaced and others even sending him dt's.

People, you are totally allowed to dislike the way someone writes an episode, you have the right to have your own opinions.

But for the love of God, LEAVE SAM ALONE. There was literally someone who praised Florence for writing the new TPOT short and then immediately after, IN THE SAME POST, vagueposted about Sam. The same person tweeted some time earlier that he should be fired and replaced by "more competent writers".

Sam left all OSC Discord servers and privated his twitter account, but I really wish he is okay after the way these people have treated him.

Social Media Habits

Yuiji

Yuiji feels absolutely chronically offline to me. He constantly forgets to text his friends back and they've learned that they need to call him if they have anything important to say. He made an Instagram account because Hongou and Mayu forced him to follow them back and he's pretty indiscriminate with following classmates back when they ask him to because he doesn't really use the app. When he's waiting for the subway or his friend, he might scroll through recommended reels. Once in a blue moon, he'll post a blurry story of him petting Azuki.

Yamato

Yamato is pretty internet literate when it comes to browser stuff, but he doesn't spend much time on social media. His Instagram has less than 10 pictures on it and they're all from major events like winning the school soccer league or family vacations abroad. 233 accounts follow him and he follows 7. He always texts with perfect grammar and full sentences.

Hongou

Hongou only regularly uses three apps, but he's always signing up for new ones and forgetting his usernames and passwords. He's a huge Twitter user for following idols and is constantly commenting a string of heart emojis when they post selfies. He and Mayu relentlessly send reels to each other and he sends Yuiji silly posts when he's sitting right next to him to see his reaction. Recently, watching Yuiji's reaction to real or cake videos has been his favorite go-to.

Nacchan

Nacchan's not big on social media, but she's very attentive to her messaging apps and never leaves people on-read. Occasionally, she likes trying out baking hacks and aesthetic recipes that come by her feed. Most of her phone time though is spent on webtoon apps and she'll never admit how much money she's spent on unlocking chapters. She also loves customizing her phone's wallpaper and icons into cute themes.

Seki

Seki had a bad middle school phase of being a social media warrior with engaging in fandom fights on reddit and tumblr. Yamato just had to ask him once why he was in such a bad mood at soccer practice, and Seki deleted his accounts immediately. He has a healthy, vanilla relationship with social media now, though TikTok did briefly threaten to pull him to the dark side.

Mayu

Mayu's too easily fed up with stupidity to use social media regularly. She follows news outlets, cute animal content, and likes all the videos that Hongou sends, but she refuses to use any social media app that forces recommend content. If she can't pick and select the specific accounts that she wants to follow, she won't do it. She enjoys longform content the most and will play video essays on random topics or podcasts as background noise.

Sakura

Sakura constantly vagueposts and never replies if his followers or irl acquaintances ask him what's going on. He never posts selfies, but will post an occasional aesthetic picture of him raising his hand into the sun or his shadow on a bridge or some shit like that. He follows dumb accounts specifically to laugh and ridicule them. He never comments, but they frequently anger him and his boss constantly questions if it's healthy. (it's not.)

Akiyama

I've made this headcanon in my sleeping habits post, but I 100% think Akiyama is a doomscroller. Miyano had to force him to delete TikTok when it was first released because Akiyama just couldn't escape. Akiyama schedules MV drops for his favorite artists, follows a few too many twitch streamers, and has a toxic relationship with gatcha games. He wants all the waifus and his RNG is horrible.

Hibino

Hibino watches thirst trap TikTok under his covers and he can't really use social media in public because his fbi men have absolutely clocked how horny he is and his recommendations are shot.

i think im comfortable enough to talk about my experiences with the chip fandom from march 2022 until february 2023, and how much it really affected me.

i never really wanted to publicly open up about this shit due to past experience and what i had to witness with many of my friends, but im kinda sick of pretending everything is fine and great on here!!

some of the shit i'll be saying under the keep reading cut may be really upsetting, please keep that in mind before proceeding (tws for suicide and harassment) doubt anyone will read this seeing as im such a small account, but hey fucking ho lol

ughhh where the fuck do i begin i created the starlandspoons account in the hopes of trying to warm up to the chip fandom again after enduring so much on the twitter side of it (hoping the tumblr side would be a little better) but... even with me trying to create good memories like i was able to in early 2022.... the pain i felt never subsided.

this is the part where val moans about their chip trauma!! the main shit (im not calling this """drama""". this shit is serious) started in late february of 2022. a controversial figure in the chip fandom, gremlin, came out with an ""apology"" for her actions (i go in detail about her actions here), blaming her actions in 2020/21 on shit like "i was doing it to piss people off" and much more that i dont really want to think about. admittedly, i initially fell for this, being too naive to understand exactly how bad she was (i knew she was bad, but didnt realise how bad)

now heres where the shit really started. back in march of 2022, i witnessed one of my friends on twitter (not naming who, i dont want them to get harassed again) get bombarded with hate + get vagueposted for not forgiving her. people started block-evading them, one person started being enbyphobic towards said person... you can get the idea here. the first time, it did a bit of damage on the way i viewed chip. i lost my taste in it temporarily. that was, until a few days later, where i had a new hyperfixation related to chip (lil guy), which kept my love for it going for a little longer!! that hyperfixation was so strong (stronger than any of my other ones had been) it was able to keep me mostly distracted from the bad shit. mostly.

everything was cool. great. as far as i remember... until late may/early june 2022. back in may of 2022, i became friends with someone called yuzu. they ran an account on twitter where they posted chip songs, tts songs, a/e songs, you get the picture... i became really good friends with them for a while, they were always there to listen to me, we'd talk a lot, yknow. what stood out was that nobody else i knew was that understanding. i was bullied a lot irl, and it was comforting to have that person there for you. i felt.... great!!!

the night of june 9th came, where they got blocked by my friends for "recommending a song from a bad person". they let me know about this, i checked what happened, and... it was a song from gremlin. this didnt bother me too much until i tried to explain to them that they were both problematic... they didn't listen. i dont remember the exact details now as my brain blocked out most of it, but i remember this almost made me spiral into a meltdown, and i suddenly couldnt stand them. i blocked them because i was too uncomfortable and i was on a brink of a meltdown.

june 10th, they made a whole vent about me. guess who had a meltdown!! multiple meltdowns in the span of 2 weeks!! how did i know?? twitter bugged out on me. the vent completely broke me. i was reminded of my ex and how they talked to me. i started getting scared of myself. i felt like a monster. i seriously wanted to kill myself. at that point, i was waiting for my chip friends to block me because i started all of the shit this time!! shit people wanted to move on from!! my brain was convincing me that my chip friends hated me!! (and to this day i still feel like that sometimes)

i had so many more meltdowns from that time. late june, i had to defend another friend (who i'll refer to as bones, for privacy reasons) from being manipulated by them. i was so angry one of my friends went to calm me down through dms. i was so stressed out of my mind that i even went non-verbal one time, which rarely happens!! this continued on and on and on, spending my time and energy defending my friends. i found out so much more about gremlin, even more gross shit, seeing she was friends with someone who is very openly radf*m/a t*rf (+ blamed bones for their own personal family problems), someone who was openly proshit (+ was one of the people who harassed one of my friends)... you get the picture.

this ate away at my mental health more, to the point where i started contemplating suicide. shit i dealt with irl really didnt help either.

the worst part was in january of this year where i had a really bad panic attack because i was scared bones was going to kill themself and there was nothing i could do about it. after that i gave up with the fandom because i finally accepted no matter what i did, nobody would listen. to bones, the friend im talking about, i hope you're okay and i'm sorry i chickened out. im sorry i failed you.

i attempted to try to step my toe into the chip fandom a few months later again by creating the starlandspoons account as my vosim hyperfix was still there and i really missed the good times, but... i still felt unhappy. i have nightmares about the chip fandom sometimes. i am constantly reliving the shit i had to witness in my head. im still feeling the anger i felt those months ago. im still getting angry at myself for not doing more to defend my friends. im still feeling suicidal (not just from the chip fandom, but its contributing to it). it all hurts so much, to this day.

im still going to post on the starlandspoons account for as long as my vosim hyperfix continues. yall are not taking that from me.

sorry for such a heavy vent post, but ive just been needing to let this out for such a long time. it's 4am, i desparately need to sleep. i will say this a thousand times more: thank you to the chip friends who have stayed by my side despite all the shit i endured. thank you so much, you guys really mean to me. seriously, you guys do. i dont know what i'd do without you guys. and to 3 certain people from the chip fandom (you 3 know who you are), thank you especially.

i swore to myself since the fradulent voter issue i would avoid addressing too much any other possible issues in this thing because laying low is usually the best but @pierregasiy actually said in the tags of one of their posts that it was better than silence and vagueposting so i just want to make a few things clear. 

1) the post was done and posted. you can't fix a broken mirror, you can try to pick the pieces together and make it as better as possible. people voiced their concerns and feelings towards it to op, who responded the way they thought it was suitable, i can't put words in people's mouths so i'm not gonna try to be presumptuous and apologise for anyone (who might even want or not want to apologise tbh). i can say for myself that i felt a bit "oh :(" and laughed a tiny bit too but didn't take too much into heart as i felt seb had gotten his plugs and all and it was a bit tongue in cheek. after i saw the complaints about it and some posts about how personal it was for people, i could see where they were coming from and why it hit some nerves and it was def something that once it sinks in, it sinks in. i don't take it personally from op but i get why people would.

2) that being said, it got too personal too quick and i think it really highlights the ability of people of actually communicating person to person. if i don't like a post around here, i try to unfollow the person, or talk to them, or talk to my friends about it to process it. there is a lot of pride on how supposedly the f1blr community is a bit more levelheaded than reddit or twitter or whatever, and i think that in some parts that's true because of the demographics of each website, but then you have people who instead of using their blogs to send people messages saying "hey, i didn't like your post. knock it off" they send it via anon, which basically cuts any possibility of a proper reply and most importantly, a conversation. during landogates i've seen a lot of shit hot takes but tbh i admire the people who talked "url to url" with each other about it and who didn't hide and were ready to take the flack. 

it's even worse because when i saw discussions with tons of reblogs etc, it was just flat out argument over personal stuff like "oh you're low" "oh you want me to die" and every single post after post after post just made it bigger than necessary. you had stuff like "if seb/pierre knew you they would hate you" and christ. oh my god. to make things worse, poor lewis who didn't have nothing to do with this got mixed into the blend with some lowkey-highkey racist remarks AND people managed to lump in very sensitive family matters from op like this is the lowest of low. absolutely vile and while i know #NotEverySebFan and #NotEveryPierreFan did it, it's a proper moment for everyone to log off and delete their accounts for a second. i can't even start to discuss about how incredibly upsetting this is all happening because of a dumb competition i started but also i am completely aware this is no longer just a local thing from my blog and unfortunately i can't control further than what i already did and am doing every day because there are new issues everyday since Friday. i can only say i'm sorry and also i am aware that many are way more hurt than i am now so well. everyone copes the way they can but this is my way of saying that, as the organiser, i want nothing but distance from everyone who managed to turn this into a living hell and if i had my way then the energy we would have would be the one from the beginning of last week. 

3) at last, on a personal note properly speaking, i have seen around some stuff about how the tournament sucks for this or that reasons. i think it's valid that this isn't the cup of tea for some, and i'm not gonna try to defend myself or the tournament from it, i know what my intentions were (fight off boredom, have fun, not think too deep about certain aspects of f1) and weren't (disrespect any of the drivers involved in it). while i respect people's opinions, i would like for my work in here to be respected too because i think that between organising this in several matches, creating graphics and dumb texts to go with them to make sure that this felt like an AU-y thing and make sure it has distance from reality and also making sure things were ran as fairly as possibly with all the stuff i caught and tried to make things right, i think the people who have been around enough know that this was well organised and not tacky so far. today was a major fucking hiccup of clusterfuck proportions and the fact it's the third or fourth day in a row something happens is exhausting. my friends don't know anymore how to give me support and i don't know how to talk to people and make sure everyone is heard either. 

so there you go. please don't send any of the users around here who have been talking about this any further hate regardless of the side they are on, don't get racist because it's not cute, sleep on it a bit and then tomorrow if the wounds are still sore then talk about it as normal people please. my apologies to everyone who got in the way of this horrible hubris, i hope this goes without further hiccups until the end sincerely.

these were all takes i deemed too much for my locked twitter account, where i had some control over who saw what i posted (jokes on me there, because someone didn’t respected the locked account part of my twitter, but!). this is partly bc i’m not trying to have people argue with me when i’m not gonna change my mind about something and partially because some of them would have been considered subtweets about mutuals and i, as a rule of thumb, don’t vaguepost about people who follow the account. most of them aren’t direct subposts but it’s close enough that that’s why they went into my drafts

anyway i have a lot of thoughts about the rise of k*ne stans in the time i’ve been reading hrpf/hanging out in rpf spaces (like obviously there’s always been plenty and there was also a fic or two a page in the tag for him but i stg it’s gotten to the point where half of the new fics have him which is an absolute WILD thing to begin with, but esp with everything going on? like obviously separate fiction from reality etc etc but like there is a direct impact on how people perceive players and teams because of fic so maybe this isn’t a good time to be actively altering the perception around them????)

I don’t know how much everyone knows about this situation because I run a Pokemon Tabletop server for a game that’s yet to start.

At the moment, it’s kinda barren since we’re all becoming adjusted to our new schedules and some people haven’t made their characters yet; yadda yadda, unimportant with the topic at hand.

There was a user that joined by the name of Mr.Pawdraw and I thought nothing of it (there are tons of people in that server i’ve never interacted with), sometimes they’d post some arts in the off-topic channels but they weren’t hurting anybody from what I’ve seen.

Around two weeks ago @adreamare​ / @dreamaredoodle​ received a server invite from them out of nowhere, joined out of curiosity, and immediately left after finding a known minor in one of the nsfw channels (whom I’ve already blocked for doing the same).

After Dream confronted them about the issue, they responded like this:

So it’s safe to say that this person was then on banned from my tabletop server (which has minors as young as 13 on it). I also found out that other people in the tabletop server have received the invite and I made an announcement about the situation warning everyone.

I blocked them on Discord, Tumblr and Twitter, and hoped that would be the last I’ve seen of them (here are their accounts).

UNFORTUNATELY: this person has NOT left us alone--us referring to me, the mods (like Dream, @sweetmugs​, and @fruitymctooty​) and a few select others  (like @synnisgarbage​) from the tabletop server.

After being expressly asked to leave us alone and to not contact us, they continue to keep on acting like they’re on good terms with us by making new accounts, drawing art of our characters, and sending us messages. I don’t have all the screenshots but I know the people I’ve mentioned in this post have a few.

It’s gotten so bad that this person made a whole separate Picarto account during one of my art streams and lied to me about not having a tumblr. I wouldn’t have known it was the same person if they hadn’t had changed the profile picture to their art.

[They even recently made a very upset sounding vaguepost about us, painting us like the villains in this situation.]

Anyway, you can come to your own conclusions yourself.  All I’m saying is be aware that this person is doing these things.

I have young people on my server, and as long as there is something happening to them that I have the power to stop, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure they’re safe. It’s as simple as that.
