I think both directions are quite enjoyable and effective in their own respects, and each version of the piece evokes something specific and unique from each other version.

#vaguely related: i am not a fan of censorship for the sake of children #1) alcohol exists and i don't believe it is a card game's duty to tiptoe around that fact. children exist in the same world as alcohol and i #find it strange that that isnt acceptable. the beverages are not labeled as wine anywhere; we know them as wine #because we drink it. kids who are not familiar with wine won't know what it is and kids who are familiar with wine.... clearly already know #about it from other sources?#2) even scantily clad bodies are not inherently inappropriate. children exist in the same world as nude human bodies even when those #bodies are covered with clothes. once again i dont think its entirely necessary to pretend like more skin = inappropriate for children #besides plenty of kids Have Certain Feelings from pretty young ages and thats normal and fine and healthy #there are plenty of lil straight boys and lil queers who wouldnt mind looking at a scantily clad satur in their favorite card game #like. HELLO? YU GI OH?
