~ Great importance in Perun's cult was also attributed to the sacred tree, which in this case was the oak, which was also prominent among other Indo-European nations as a symbol of the god of thunder and lightning (e.g. Germanic Thor, Greek Zeus, Roman Jupiter, Lithuanian Perkunas, etc. ). Slavs showed immense respect to this tree, offering numerous gifts. One of the most significant oaks grew on the Dnieper island of Khortytsia (Island of St. George), where the Rus merchants would stop on their travels to pray for the success of their trading activities... Oaks could also define boundaries of estate, as happened as early as 1302 in the case of the territorial gift of Galicia Prince Lev Danilović to the Przemyśl Bishopric (?). Oak wood fed the eternal fire that blazed near Perun's statue in Novgorod. ... Oak - the most sacred tree of the Slavs. One of the main places in the cult of trees was probably occupied by linden, its wood was considered an effective weapon against vampires. ... It is also possible that iris played a specific role in Perun's cult, which among the southern Slavs was called perunika or bogiša - i.e. a divine plant.

Thor can hear them the whispers and chants, of the people that believe. The people that want a ravenous thunderstorm to end the drought.
They pray to him, for a crackle of thunder, for thr glorious sight of the beacon of lightening. He smiles as he hears them.
From all over Midgard, all around, for different reasons.
Pleas.
Prayers.
Praises.
Devotion.
He stares around the warrior table, celebrating their win against another realm, cheers ring every few moments.
Thor still feels incomplete in his victory. Something grounding, something— his thoughts halt, an angered complaint breaking past the barrier.
‘This god that you dare sacrifice me too? He won’t end your pain.’
‘Thor my Sire see what they do to me!’
‘They try to take what is yours.’
‘Thor Odinson see what these people are attempting to do to me! You never called for sacrifice!’
‘What kind of God are you for allowing this!?’
‘Never visiting, why should I worship you?’
‘You are just like those other gods! Feeding off of our fears and yet not rewarding devotion.’
Thor blinks, his gaze roaming over the grand room he finds Loki perched in a corner, book in hand.
“Brother.” Thor calls out an idea forming in his mind he’d pay this voice a visit.
Loki’s green gaze lift from his book to catch Thor gesturing to meet outside. The younger sibling was deciding to leave and this would be a good opportunity to not return to the boisterous event.
The two brothers meet upon the quaint balcony.
“Is another battle upon your mind?” Loki muses, Thor shakes his head.
“Midgard, they are choosing to sacrifice, I hear her pleas and complaints.” Thor explains, thumb tracing the smooth stone of the wall.
“Ever the hero. What purpose do I serve in this grand plan? Shouldn’t you request the Bi-Frost be opened for Odin’s heir?” Loki raises a brow when It seems apparent that Thor does not want a certain all seer to know.
“Ah, you want me to take you to Midgard.” He concludes.
“I’d prefer that brother.” Thor wonders what Loki must be thinking, he himself never requested but there was something unfulfilled within his chest. Perhaps saving this maiden could quell it.
“Alright brother, meet me in your chambers, however I have my own business upon Midgard.” Loki walks away cape drifting in the air as he moves.
————-----------------------------------
Thor watches, impatience setting into his fingers, crackles of lightening dance on his palm.
Loki opens up the portal to Yggdrasill. The tree stands with the branches, Thor searches, Loki walks the knowing path towards the branch of Midgard.
“How many times have you traversed?” Thor wonders trailing behind his brother.
Loki chuckles, “I’d rather you not know.”
“Now where is this distressed damsel?” The raven haired brother enquires.
“I believe,” Thor pauses, offering Loki his hand and tapping into the prayers he heard from the snow capped place.
“Very well,” Go towards there, Loki points to the branch displaying a snowy storm.
“How shall I get back?”
“Here, tap this seven times, you will be teleported back to your chambers.” Loki hands a trinket to Thor, beads tied together with .
“Alright.” Thor steps off, Loki watches turning to his own destination.
The townspeople hold up flaming torches, borders of crowd, men grabbing onto a figure in scarce clothing. You shiver.
Though Thor observes your eyes alit with a rage.
“You think Thor will forgive you?!” You bellow, her voice the same as Thor heard.
“Leave me!” You roar, thrashing the bindings on you tighten.
“He doesn’t care, he hears not my prayers! What will he answer you!” You yell.
The lightening crackles upon his fingers again.
Thor admires your eyes showing fire.
A thought crosses him. How would you look on the cusp of being broken by him?
You pause your fight, as gasps echo Thor stands on the rock you were to be tied upon.
“My people.” His voice booms, thunder rumbling in the distance.
Everyone falls to their knees, you stand defiant, still displeased. You still think he’s here to take you.
“I have come to take your sacrifice. Comply and your people shall be blessed.” He looks over everyone, extending his arm to you.
“Please.” Your voice thick.
His eyes shine with mirth when you take his hand. You have curses on the tip of your tongue for this townsfolk.
“Sire, they,” your eyes water, shivers wreck though your form.
“Fret not sweet devotee, I heard your pleas to save you. They shall perish for laying a finger upon your unwavering devotion.” He whispers in your ear, taking off his cloak wrapping it around you.
His woodsy scent engulfs you with his warmth.
“Perish?” Your brows raise, you never meant grave harm.
Thor cups your cheek, a bright light taking over his eyes, the lighting and thunder boom above. Storm clouds settling in, “You called upon needing protection did you not?”
“Y-yes.” You admit.
“You have sworn your devotion to me have you not? No matter what I ask?” He tilts his head, observing you.
Eyes tracing over your body.
You pull the cloak over you, he chuckles.
“I have, Sire.”
“Then let me help you. You may thank me later in a way I deem fit.” Thor shifts back, turning to the people who decided to cause harm.
“Turn around, sweet one.” Thor says, as you turn away.
The haunting screams don’t last long. A dull buzz echoes as the silence is piercing only the howling wind drowns the remains of the screams the clearing held.
Thor grabs you by the waist.
“Lead me to your home.” He instructs.
“You, they—,” you look at the singed bodies.
“I tolerate not their horrific behaviours. My devotees know I only need prayer not sacrifice. Those are barbaric ways. I have different methods of prayer my dear, tell me your name?”
His hand is warm around you, light blue eyes mirthful. You give him your name, the God grins as you lead him to your home. The remainder of the village still asleep.
Your home at the end of the border. Thor smiles admiring the quaintness. You open the door for him, biting your lip as you see the mess.
“I believe I gave them way easily.” Thor clicks his tongue seeing the state of your upturned home. You drop the cloak to clear the small bedding for him to sit.
“I, I wish I could have made you more comfortable, Sire.” You worry of his displeasure.
“You may use my name, as you did in prayer.” He perches on the bed, a crackle of lightening on the make shift stove ignites a flame. You sigh in content at the source of warmth.
“Would you, would you care for a meal?” You look up at him.
“I would, however, I wonder if you would deny me.” He muses, the temperature has your flesh peek through the thin fabric of sacrifice.
“I do not understand? Do, do you want me to pray?” You wonder, eyebrows furrowed.
“In a sense, sweet devotee.” Thor stands, making his way to you in long strides.
“Tell me, have you laid with another man?” He questions, your skin heats. A bead of sweat trickles down your neck.
Thor chuckles, “I am only a scarcely patient man, devotee.”
“I have, S-sire—Thor,” you correct, his thumb brushes over your jaw, he grasps it observing your features, tilting your face side to side.
“Lay down, I want you to pray to me. No matter what do not stop.” He instructs, “If you stop, I will not reward your devotion. Do not question me, follow my word.”
You look at the bed, “I,”
His eyes are alit again, “As I say devotee. Lay, down.”
You scramble, laying on the bed, the tongue you were taught, the hymn of his praise.
Thor smiles, making his way to you, bending your knees, your words falter, he squeezes your inner thigh in warning.
You swallow cold air greets your drawn apart thighs, Thor settles between them.
“Th-Thor…” you pause again, as his lips trace your inner thighs.
“Devotee. Do you not want to thank me? I protected you. I’m simply taking what is mine. What you promised to me. What you have vowed in those sweet hymns.” He explains.
“This?” You look at him, he cups your mound, middle finger on your bundle of nerves. A current pulses from his finger on the nub you keen as the sensation travels up your stomach.
“Continue my sweet devotee, your voice called upon me. I am simply rewarding you.” Thor’s eyes are a thin rim of blue, the electric sensation returns your hips lift. A moan escapes your lips.
“So responsive.” He gleams, your wetness pools on his palm. His tongue greets and you fumble over your words again as he hums against your entrance.
“Divine.” He commends, “However, I never asked you stop the hymns.” Your stomach tightens.
“Seems you have a lot to learn.” His hands trace up your sides, you begin to sing again.
“Continue.” He grasps your breasts, nipples hardening, his thumbs and index fingers pinch each a jolt of current moves through the nubs, you moan the words, Thor grins wickedly, watching you lose focus.
“I see you enjoy that, making a mess of my armour.” His thigh flush against your core, the leather coated in your arousal.
You gasp as the current jolts again, his mouth latches onto one nipple and his fingers return to your clit. He suckles on your nipple as the other and your clit are subjected to the torturous electric current, your hands move to his hair.
Thor enjoys the struggle of wanting to push him away and pull him closer. He switches to the other side, your hips have you rut against his palm as the current evokes a need within you.
“Keep singing sweetness,” Thor’s hands roam your body, random jolts against your clit or nipples, he enjoys each time you stumble over your words.
The current spreading through your inner thighs, lips wrapped around your clit, your voice grows breathy, your hymn turn into begs, two thick digits enter you, your walls squeezing around him, tongue flicking over your nub.
Preens, and whines fill your home, Thor’s groans against you, as though he begins to unravel the taught thread holding you at the seams.
His fingers rub over a spongy spot, he chuckles, the current from his fingers cause you to moan his name, your hips lift his ministrations upon your clit do not relent. Thrusts of his fingers don’t stop every flick over the spongy spot accompanied by his electric current.
You’re a withering mess, every time you feel he will let the coil snap allow you into bliss he stops. You beg, beg, beg.
He relents not, enjoying the way he has you dancing along the edge with him. His own length hard, aching.
“Do you want release, devotee?” He moves away from you.
“Please, please, Sire.”
“Apologise then,” he grabs your breasts, you cry out, tears escaping your eyes.
“Sire—,” your voice breaks, his lips wipe the tears.
“Aw, devotee, you wondered what kind of god am I? Very benevolent when I am not accused.” The fingers inside you return, the current jolts through you, thumb circling your clit, bliss is within reach you sob as he stops yet again.
“Oh sweet thing, you tears have me so hard. Apologise. I shall give you what you want and more.”
“I-I’m sorry Sire, I didn’t I was being—,” You moan, gooseflesh raises, he isn’t touching you yet you feel the current hum, building in crescendo as the coil winds in your stomach.
“Keep apologising.” Thor warns, watching you writhe and hips lift, cunt clenching around nothing.
Mewls, moans and breathless apologies fall from your lips, you look so beautiful he thinks, he continues letting the electric current lead you to bliss.
Your orgasm hits with a cry, your arousal seeps all over, coating your thighs and the sheets.
Aftershocks wreck through you, a thin rim of blue enters your hazy vision, then you are turned upon your hands and knees. Then you feel a burning stretch.
Thor’s girth and length massive, he sinks inch by inch. Moaning at your tightness. Hands gripping your hips.
“Might have to keep you for myself, devotee. A cunt as sweet and tight. Oh sweet, sweet darling.” Thor chuckles, you moan as he bottoms out, he presses his palm over your lower abdomen.
He presses a chaste kiss to your mid-back. What should be a soothing gesture only spurs on the current across your skin again.
“Feel myself right there.” He groans as your cunt spams to squeeze his cock.
“Want to milk me don’t you? Look at your pretty tears, all for your god, your saviour. You asked for me correct. Here I am.” He begins to move, first slow then he begins to speed up.
“Y-yes.” you whimper, his grunts only having you grow slicker, aiding his movements.
“Prayed for this haven’t you, prayed for me to fill your darkest day. Here I am.”
Wet squelches and skin slapping he guides your hips to meet his thrusts. Your moans echo in the silent night, thunder rumbles outside.
Thor pulls you against him, your kneeling, his cock splitting you apart, massive you can’t form a coherent thought, his hands seize your breasts playing with your nipples.
He tugs and pulls, the current returns and he chuckles darkly.
“Oh you love it, your cunt loves my ability, just wants to keep me inside her. Fuck,” Thor keeps thrusting into you.
He’s going to keep you with him. His hand returns to your clit, tapping with each tap a current filled jolt.
You scream his name as each tap on your clit is in sync with his cock hitting the spot inside you, your walls spasm pulling him back inside. Wanting to place him there permanently.
Your lips part for a prayer of his name and plead for him to guide you to the bliss. Your arousal gushes around his cock, you moan more as the electric jolts keep spasming your clit. Arched against him lips parted in a silent cry as your orgasm takes over you, toes curling. Making you thrash in his grip.
His warm seed coats your walls, his lips spill praises, “Such a pretty cunt, all mine for taking, milking my cock, filled with my seed. Perfect little sacrifice for a god aren’t you?”
Thor moans into your ear, you’re breathless pleas music to his ears, you feel so full, hazed mind. Craving the release craving the reward. Craving him. He keeps thrusting as if he never reached his peak.
“I’m not yet done, devotee, you promised. Whatever I wanted.” He cups your jaw, kissing you sloppily, hips still moving against you, his free hand taps the trinket seven times.
You feel a softer mattress under your knees, your eyes open in the midst of his claiming kiss. Your home no longer present, the walls in colours of red, grey and gold.
“My little devotee.” Thor chuckles, “Welcome to your new home.”

Part 1 : Cry For Me
Part 2: Run For Me
Part 3: Scream For Me
Part 4: Come For Me
Thor grabs onto your thigh tightly, holding you in place as he dumps his seeds into you, coating your walls and filling your womb to the brim.
His hands slowly make up to yours,
"Shall we go for another round, my love?"
He says, bringing your hands up to his lips, giving them a gentle kiss.
Bitter tears trickled down your face and your jaw clenched. You loathed every second of this, and yet, you nodded.
He was the king of asgard, the god of thunder, Thor Odinson and you? You're a mere maid, an asgardian who didn't wield any magic powers or have the talent to fight in the battlefield, an absolute nobody.
Denying him would be the same as having a death wish.
He grinned at your response, his beautiful blue eyes crinkling up into moon crescents.
"That was the correct answer, my darling."
His hands slowly caressed your thighs before moving up to your waist, pushing you down. His cock hitting the cervix of your womb and causing you to moan in response.
"You'd do anything for me right, my love?"
All you could do was to utter out a pathetic 'yes' as he continued to make you ride him.
Anything you did, anything you said, it was all for him, it had to be for him, for your king.

i’ve been thinking about the future of the mcu and realized there’s a LOT that i didn’t know/didn’t remember in terms of where things are going so i figured i’d sum it up incase anyone else was in the same boat!!
quick recap of (unresolved) mid-credit scenes:
doctor strange: mordo (a sorcerer that is one of strange’s mentors, who by the end of the movie becomes disillusioned with magic/the ancient one and quits) confronts pangborn (the paraplegic who healed himself with the mystic arts, who tells strange about mystic arts in the first place) and steals his magic because according to mordo, there are “too many sorcerers." of note, this guy is typically a villain in the comics but hasn’t been thus far...
gotg2: ayesha (leader of the sovereign, a golden skinned alien race obsessed with genetic purity), after spending most of the movie chasing the guardians for stealing some stuff, is revealed to have created an artificial being named “adam” which is presumably, adam warlock. (other stuff that is less relevant: kraglin appears to take up yondu’s mantle; the ravagers regroup and several old and obscure comic book characters are introduced [charlie-27, aleta, martinex, mainframe]; the watchers are watching things.)
far from home: j jonah jameson basically tells the whole world spider-man’s secret identity, and frames him for what happened with mysterio....making him public enemy #1. ALSO, turns out nick fury and maria hill in the movie were ACTUALLY the two skrulls from captain marvel (talos and soren) attempting to do their job, while the real fury (and presumably hill) is ... up in space on some spaceship!!!
wandavision: monica (who we can assume is photon) is called by “an old friend of [her] mother’s,” up in space, which presumably means fury, talos, or carol. ALSO, wanda sits in the middle of nowhere reading the darkhold and hears the voices of her children who.. by all accounts, should not exist.
aaaaand what we know about future movies (i’m not even going into the tv series.....):
black widow:
takes place after civil war
nat confronts a “dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past,” likely has to do with taskmaster who has apparently taken over the red room where nat was trained as an assassin
prominent new characters: yelena belova, who will take over the mantle of black widow after this; alexei shostakov aka red guardian, an ollllld marvel hero analogous to captain america except for the soviet union.
tony stark will make an appearance... SOBS
shang-chi and the legend of the ten rings:
shang-chi has never been seen in the mcu before, but he is, essentially, a superhero that is a master martial artist, and in some adaptations can also create duplicate (fake) versions of himself to confuse opponents
main villain will be the the mandarin who we have *sort of* seen before... he is the leader of a terrorist organization called “ten rings” whose main goal is to destroy world peace. brief history -- in iron man 1: one ten rings cell kidnaps tony stark and tries to force him to make weapons (he of course, makes his suit instead). stark and ten rings become enemies and fight a bunch. nat and nick fury fight them too. in iron man 3, the villain aldrich killian hires a dude to pretend to be the mandarin and claim responsibility for a bunch of stuff, but its not the ten rings or the mandarin at all. this makes the mandarin v mad and he has a dude kidnap the faker to punish him. they also briefly show up in ant-man, when a ten rings agent tries to buy the yellowjacket suit that darren cross is selling. BUT IN SHANG-CHI....... looks like we are FINALLY going to see the real mandarin after over a decade!!
the villain razor fist will also show up, he is lesser known... he has no superhuman powers but he has surgically replaced his hands (1 or 2, depending on the version) with a steel blade, and is highly skilled at hand to hand combat.
besides the presence of these characters, the only bit of plot we know is “shang-chi is drawn into the ten rings organization and forced to confront his past.” so... yeah. we don’t know much at all.
eternals:
quick explanation: the eternals are an immortal alien race who have been secretly living on earth for thousands of years. they were created by the celestials, who are most prominently in gotg2.
more entirely new characters!!! their names are: thena, who can form any weapon out of cosmic energy; gilgamesh, who can make a super strong exoskeleton out of cosmic energy; ikaris, who has superhuman strength, flies, and can project cosmic energy out his eyes; kingo, who can shoot cosmic energy projectiles from his hands; makkari, who creates sonic booms, has super speed, and is deaf; phastos, who has enhanced intelligence, and is also gay (and married with a kid!); ajak, who has healing powers; sprite, who can project illusions; sersi, who can manipulate matter; druig, who can mind control; and dane whitman (black knight), a human with a mystical sword.
regarding the plot... it seems the eternals have kind of dispersed, but have to come together again to fight the deviants, who are their “evil counterparts” (also created by the celestials, though i’m unclear on why). thena and gilgamesh have apparently been in exile, unclear why; sersi, who is posing as a museum curator, has apparently been in love with ikaris for centuries and it seems as if their love story may be central to the film; and kingo is a bollywood film star in his spare time. aaaaand that’s pretty much all we know.
directed by chloé zhao of nomadland fame!
spider-man no way home:
based on the post-credits scene in far from home, peter parker will now be known as spider-man to everyone. unclear if he’s going to be seen as a bad guy due to mysterio framing him, but i guess we’ll see!
jamie foxx is electro, and alfred molina is doctor octopus; which is VERY interesting considering they played these roles in other spider-man franchises, once again stirring up excitement for possible multiverse.
there have been *multiple* reports that andrew garfield, kirsten dunst, tobey maguire, and emma stone will be in the movie but tom holland has repeatedly denied this... so... who knows.
there are also rumors that matt murdock / daredevil (from netflix) will be in several scenes! not confirmed though.
MJ is still his girlfriend and i hope it stays that way!!
doctor strange will be featured in the movie, taking on the mentor role now that tony stark is gone :( this will be interesting as i.. haven’t really seen them interact much before. because of this inclusion some people speculate that the film may draw inspo from some comic storylines where peter’s secret identity is restored with magic.
doctor strange in the multiverse of madness:
scarlet witch is essentially co-starring!!! it’s going to be really interesting to see if they bring vision or the twins into this at all, though i’m not counting on it.
seems like mordo will be the main villain -- recall the ds1 post credits scene where he is apparently running around trying to steal people’s magic.
america chavez will make her debut!!!!!! i have no idea how this plays into anything but i am so excited!!
regarding the plot, all we really know is that strange has been researching the time stone, mordo messes with him, and this results in him accidentally unleashing “unspeakable evil.” presumably there will also be heavy involvement of the multiverse, and who knows what kind of craziness that will bring!!
initially was going to be directed by scott derrickson who did ds1; however he stepped down to being just EP due to “creative differences.” i am presuming this is because derrickson really wanted to make this more gothic and horror than disney was comfortable with. i REALLY hope they keep some of those elements though and don’t erase the idea entirely! anyway, it will be directed by sam raimi now (of evil dead and spiderman 2002 fame).
the film also reportedly ties in with the loki series (will loki show up!?) and spiderman 3 (which is obvious enough, given that strange is in that movie and those curious electro and doctor octopus castings...)
thor: love and thunder
directed by taika waititi again, hell yeah!!! and he has stated, the film will be “so over the top now in the very best way" and would make ragnarok look like a "run of the mill, very safe film" .... so.... oh god
so many great returning players!!! including.... valkyrie (now the king of new asgard), jane foster, lady sif, korg, star-lord, mantis, drax, nebula, and kraglin (takes up yondu’s mantle after he dies in gotg2)
in this movie, thor isn’t thor anymore.... it’s JANE!!! she gets cancer :( and is undergoing treatment while simultaneously being thor. i’m a little nervous how this will be handled, but i’m excited. (it’s based off an amazing comic series by jason aaron)
the big bad: gorr the god butcher, played by christian bale! the gist of it is, this dude HATES gods because nobody helped when his family was dying and in need. his weapon is “all-black the necrosword,” forged from the head of a celestial, and allows the user to create wings and fly at extreme speeds. honestly, he sounds cool as fuck.
valkyrie is going to be made canonically bisexual!!!
it will explore more of korg’s backstory, and also include... space sharks!?!?! an alien race from the comics.
taika has called the script “very romantic” so take that as you will
black panther 2
will again be directed by ryan coogler
not much is known at this point, does not have an official name
t’challa will NOT be recast (which i’m happy about) so..... honestly no idea what to expect for this one. i think we can probably expect shuri to have an expanded role. all we know so far is they will be “exploring the world of wakanda.” not clear to me how this is different from the upcoming wakanda D+ series.
tenoch huerta has reportedly been cast as a villain, but no one has any idea who. there’s also rumors that donald glover is in “informal talks” to play a role. note all of this is unconfirmed.
captain marvel 2
will be directed by nia da costa (candyman!) and written by megan mcdonnell, who is one of wandavision’s best writers!
will take place in the present day
will feature kamala khan / ms. marvel, monica rambeau / photon!!! this will be so interesting.... kamala is a huge fan of carol’s in the comics, she is her mentor/idol. the ms. marvel series will also resportedly lead into cm2. and monica, well, monica knew her when she was a little kid. wandavision implies that there’s some bad blood between carol and monica though, not sure why. maybe because carol left and never came back? (until endgame)
post-credits scene of wandavision appears to tie into this, having monica go up into space at the reqeust of her “mom’s old friend.” again, not clear who that is. this could also be a tie in to secret invasion though, so we’ll see. or both.
zawe ashton has been cast as an unknown villain... a lot of people are actually speculating that she may play rogue? which would be fascinating, as there’s a comic arc where rogue steals her powers and memories. BUT there’s still no confirmation that X-men exist in the MCU so for now i remain skeptical.
they are looking to cast a ‘john boyega’ or ‘michael b jordan’ type which makes me wonder if they are going to create a new character, a “younger” war machine to be her love interest? (note: carol and rhodey are a huge thing in comics!) carol obviously does not look her age but her and don cheadle.... that just doesn’t work. which is why i wonder.
ant-man and the wasp: quantumania
in addition to scott and hope, pretty much all the major players are returning including: luis, hank pym, janet van dyne
cassie lang has been recast with an actress 5 years older, which is really making me wonder if they are going to make her stinger in this movie! (aka one of the main young avengers)
the villain: kang the conqueror! this dude time travels. original name nate richards. in the comics, kang travels back in time to rescue his younger self (nate) from an attack that would help shape him towards a life of villainy. kang also gives him some fancy armor. his younger self actually is like, what the fuck dude? and renounces his destiny, becoming a hero. and he makes his armor look like iron man, calling himself iron lad. who is a young avenger. which also makes me wonder about cassie lang.
otherwise not much is known!
guardians of the galaxy vol. 3
james gunn is returning, i’m mixed about this...he really does *get* the guardians though.
based on the gotg2 post credits scene, i think we can assume adam warlock will be a HUGE part of this. there are multiple versions of him, some villainous and some heroic, but no idea how this is gonna turn out.
no word yet on whether thor will be involved, or if those ravagers they introduced will be involved.

——————————————————————————
The soft chirping of birds stirred you from your light slumber, a small groan leaving your lips.
You didn't want to wake up yet. Fucking birds.
You opened one eye, your E/C specks peering to see the sunlight begin pouring into the large room through the windows.
Oh shit. Hvitserk’s room.
Looking up, your gaze settled on Hvitserk’s sleeping face. His lips were slightly parted, his braids had come loose at some point during the night from tossing and turning in his sleep. One of his arms was wrapped around you as he laid on his back, your own head on his chest, one leg slung over his waist and your arm resting comfortably over his bare stomach, feeling it rise and fall with every breath he took. He looked so peaceful.
The kiss you both shared last night came to mind, embarrassment clouding your cheeks.
God, how could you kiss him?
You shifted slightly, freezing when Hvitserk made a small noise. Once he had settled again, you moved until you had unwrapped yourself from his body and climbed out of the large bed, being as quiet as you could. Your clothes from yesterday were missing, replaced with new ones. Saga must have left them for you whilst you and Hvitserk were still asleep.
There were brown trousers, a cream coloured tunic folded on top of them. You pulled your arms out of your nightgown, pulling it over your head and off your body, being as quick and as quiet as you could, you got dressed into the clothes laid out for you. New leather armor was beside it, this one seemed much easier to put on, only having to tie the strings on each side instead of it being as the back where you couldn’t reach. The armor covered your torso, the front dipped into a wide ‘V’ shape, exposing your neck and part of your shoulders. There were two bits of the armor left to slip your forearms into, tightening them with the strap and buckle.
You glanced at Hvitserk again whilst picking up your bag, sighing before leaving his room and quietly shutting the door behind you. You wouldn’t wake him up just yet, you needed time to think first. Clear your head.
You walked through the halls to the main room. It was empty, deathly quiet. No one was awake yet, you guessed. You decided to wait at the table for everyone to wake up, walking to the first chair on the corner of the table.
“Good morning.”
You gasped, jumping out your skin and dropping your bag as you whipped around, seeing Ivar sat on the throne with one of his legs stretched out, sharpening his blade.
“Ivar! You scared me half to death.”
He didn’t reply, only glaring at you through his long eyelashes. It made you frown, bending down to pick up the bag you dropped.
“Did you fuck him?”
The question made you stop, turning back around to face him again.
“Excuse me?”
“Did. You. Fuck. Him?” He asked again, his voice low and dark. A deep scowl pulled at his eyebrows, he looked as if he could kill someone.
The question was simple, you knew it was aimed at the fact you spent the night with Hvitserk and yet it angered you. How dare he ask you something like that? Who did he think he was?
“No, Ivar, I didn’t fuck him.” You said through gritted teeth. “And even if I did, who are you to question it? My father?”
Your words took him by surprise, a clear look of shock on his face. Though he was pleased about you not fucking his brother, the way you spoke to him angered him more.
“I am your prince, Y/N. I can question whatever I'd like and you are to answer it when I want you to.” He snarled at you, baring his teeth, looking at you as if you were a thrall.
You scoffed out a laugh, rolling your eyes as you walked forward.
“I’m not afraid of you.” You stepped onto the first step towards the throne where he sat. “You may have everyone else under your thumb because of your status, but not me.”
Your heart was beating in your chest a hundred miles per hour and your hands shook in your clenched fists. His face was pure thunder, his chest heaved slightly as he watched you make your way to him. You knew his temper wasn’t one to be played with, and even then you couldn’t seem to back down. Anger from yesterday was still fresh and if it was an argument Ivar was looking for, he was gonna get it.
“I will not be spoken to as if I'm one of your thralls, do you understand?” Your voice was laced with a threat, taking another step until you were in front of him, leaning down to grab the arms of the chair, pinning him between the throne and yourself. “Do not underestimate me, Ivar the Boneless. I am more powerful than you know.”
His blue hues stared at you in astonishment and anger, not saying anything as you walked away from him again. Picking up your bag and slinging it over your shoulder again, you stormed out of the Great Hall, heart racing. You decided to walk to the meeting place for today's raid, your fingers rubbing over your necklace as you quickly walked. You thought of your mother, of Embla. You thought of home. You took so much for granted and now you have none of it, stuck here instead.
You wondered how long it would take for you to forget everyone's faces, to forget your parents without any of their pictures to look back on. Would you ever get home? What did you do to be thrown back here? What were you fucking chose for? Curse you, Thor, curse you for bringing me here and then leaving me in the dirt. A familiar rage from last night started bubbling up inside you again, your face twisted in anger and hatred.
“Are you okay, Y/N?” Ubbe’s deep voice asked, snapping you out of your dark thoughts. You were at the doors of Kattegat, though you hadn’t noticed you got there or for how long you’ve been there for.
You swallowed your rage, giving him a small nod as you avoided his electric eyes.
“Your brother is a fool,” You spoke, making a deep chuckle erupt in his throat.
“Which one?”
“Ivar.”
“I agree with you.” He smiled, looking at his men load their carts and horses with weapons and bags. “Are you sure you want to come?”
His question made you look up at him, your eyes meeting.
“What do you mean?” You shuffled on your feet, turning to look at him without breaking eye contact.
“I’m trying to say you’ve been through a lot, with Embla’s death. Are you sure you want to go somewhere where you’ll witness more death?”
His words made you think, breaking eye contact with him as you looked off towards the many men and few women ahead of you.
“There’s a lot of anger inside me, Ubbe,” you said, your hand now gripping your necklace tightly. “Anger that I'm afraid is going to eat me from the inside until one day, it just spills out of me and I destroy everything around me. I need to let this anger out.”
Ubbe only nodded at you, turning his gaze behind him to see his two younger brothers walk towards you and him.
“Ivar, Hvitserk.” He greeted them, turning around with his arms wide under his cape. “Ready to set off?”
Ivar didn’t say anything, to either his brother or you, walking past you both to the horse and cart. Your eyes didn’t follow him, though you wanted to, you wanted to see if he had looked back at you the same way you wanted to with him.
Hvitserk approached you, a sly smile on his face.
“You weren’t there when I woke up,” He stated.
“I know, I’m sorry. I couldn’t sleep and I didn't want to wake you.” You smiled, leaning up to kiss him gently on the cheek. “Plus, your little snores were just too cute.” You teased.
“Cute?” He asked, tilting his head to the side as confusion filled his expressions.
Oh my, he looks more like a little puppy when he does that, not a Viking.
“Nevermind.” You snorted, turning your back as you walked over to the cart.
“Wait- Y/N!” He called after you, wanting to know what that word meant.
——————————
Hours had passed, you understood why Ubbe wanted to leave in the early hours of the morning now, this trip had taken a whole day nearly. You had slept through most of it, on the back of a large carriage with Hvitserk and Ivar. You had taught him how to play ‘I spy’, other men had begun to join in when they overheard you playing.
“I spy with my little eye,” You began the rhyme, squinting as you looked around for something to hint at. “Something beginning with... ‘A’.”
The men who were joined in looked around, including Hvitserk, who just looked as baffled as the rest of them.
“Armor.”
You looked at Ivar, frowning slightly at him. He wasn’t playing and yet only ever answered when it was your turn to go. He had gotten it right every single time.
“Ivar’s correct.” You mumbled, rolling your eyes when a smirk played on his lips.
“Where did you learn this game, Y/N?” Hvitserk asked. “I’ve never heard it before.”
“It comes from where I'm from, many children and adults play it when they’re on long journeys like this one.” You smiled. It wasn't quite a lie and you couldn't really tell him that most played it on car journeys.
“Where are you from?” One of the men asked, making you tense. Ivar noticed this, raising an eyebrow at your reaction.
No one would react like that about a simple question unless they were hiding something, he thought to himself.
“I—”
“We’re here,” Ubbe announced, sighing in relief as he took the attention away from you. The mood and energy suddenly shifts, even playful Hvitserk had turned serious as he jumps out the carriage. You climb out after, brushing your hands over your clothes as you picked up a shield.
You felt slightly sick, running your hand over your single braid.
“Here,” You heard Hvitserk say, a sword in hand. You took it from him, smiling.
“Thank you.”
“Just like we practiced, but now you make sure they’re dead.” He gave you a wolfish-grin. “And don’t let your guard down, stay close to us.”
You gave him a small nod as he walked off to join his older brother. You looked over to Ivar, seeing him climb into his chariot with pained grunts and adjust himself in. You wanted to go over to him and wish him luck, though you knew he didn’t need it, you decided not to. You were still pissed at him for the way he spoke to you this morning.
The large wooden doors to the community were open, which seemed a little strange to you. You walked up to the frontline of men where the Ragnarssons stood, standing between Ivar’s chariot and Hvitserk.
The men were quiet as you all snuck in, peering around at the blissfully ignorant people walking around as if a mob of Vikings wasn’t there.
You spotted two nuns, walking side by side as they talked to each other, one of the nuns looked up to her fellow sister, going to say something but her eyes landed on you, a scream echoing from her.
“VIKINGS!”
All hell broke loose from then on, people screaming and going to hide in their homes or the church, men pooling from every corner of the community with swords and bows and arrows.
The men behind you and the Ragnarssons all roared out a battle cry, charging forth into the oncoming blood and death. The brothers looked different doing the real thing compared to training, their faces where twisted in emotions. Hvitserk had a sadistic grin as he cut down anyone in his way, occasionally looking for you and his brothers. Ivar had a look of anger and spite as he rode around in his chariot and Ubbe looked like a crazed man, his eyes wide.
You follow alongside the Vikings, adrenaline-pumping all over you as you clashed swords with a man bigger than you. He was stronger, yes, but you had been taught how to deal with bigger opponents on the field by Ubbe.
You used all your strength in you whilst you held him off with your sword, grunting as he pushed down on you, kicking the man on his knee with the bottom of your foot, smiling as you heard a satisfying crack-- breaking his leg in the wrong direction. The action caused him to release the pressure he was pushing on you, letting his guard down to scream out in pain. You grabbed a fist full of his hair, pulling his head back and in one quick motion, you sliced your sword over the skin of his neck with no hesitation, his warm blood splattering over your face like war paint. You breathed in deeply as he fell to the floor, closing your eyes. You had just killed someone.
And god, did it feel good.
You opened your eyes again, your E/C burning brightly with rage as you scanned the battlefield around you, seeing men and women clash swords with each other. Letting out your own battle cry as you spun on your heel, swinging your now bloodied sword at the nearest man to you, satisfying your newly formed blood-lust as he cried out his last dying breath. Minutes passed and you had already lost count on how many people you had struck down, sinking your sword into the man's stomach, ripping it back out with no mercy. You had used everything you had learned in training, it was almost like a dance for you, a routine you had learned over and over again and now it was time for you to perform. All of your rage, sadness, and grief that had built up over the years had come to the surface, masking over your whole being-- you could barely recognize yourself.
Is this what you were now? A murderer?
You had lost sight of the brothers, looking around for any sign of them after you cut down another man, the noises of pained cries and screams deafening your hearing. You turned to look at the other side of the community, gasping as pain rippled over you.
You had let your guard down.
Your sword slipped from your hand, piercing the muddy ground beneath you as everything started to slow down around you.
A man stood in front of you, cross dangling from his neck as if mocking you, the blade buried deep into the flesh below your left collarbone. A wicked smile on his face as he pulled it back out, twisting it as he did so, causing you to cry out and stumble slightly. Your hand immediately flew up to the newly inflicted wound, feeling your own blood trickle through your fingers.
The man raised his blade again, ready to make the finishing blow on you as you stood frozen.
“Dirty heathen.” He sneered, grabbing you by your throat as you let out a strangled gasp, your hand grabbing onto his wrist. The look of his vile smile faulted, spluttering out his own blood onto your face before falling to the floor. You looked at the bloody axe left hanging in the air where he once stood You followed the hand holding it, seeing the familiar chariot, Ivar’s eyes glaring down at you through his metal helmet.
He reached over, grabbing you by the arm and pulling you quickly into his chariot with him, sitting you down at his feet where you were covered from being attacked further.
“Are you trying to get yourself killed?!” He shouted at you over the noise, not looking down at you as he continued his slaughter on the enemies. “Did you learn nothing in training?!”
You couldn’t hear him as a ringing drowned out all noise, looking at your blood covered hand, your vision darkened, eyes rolling back until everything went black.
——————————
You groaned as you felt someone move your body, opening your eyes to see a stranger woman hovering over you, tying a bandage around your shoulder and neck.
You were laid on a pile of furs, your armor had been stripped from you along with your tunic, laying next to you. You looked down at yourself, your top half was exposed, showing your black bra and the lightning-shaped scar. You realised you were in a rather large tent, sitting up onto your elbows.
“Embla?” You grumbled, looking at the woman next to you, her back turned to you.
“Afraid that’s not me,” her gruff voice spoke, poking her head out the tent. “She’s awake, Princes.”
Your hair had been taken out of its braid, letting it fall onto your shoulders.
Hvitserk, Ubbe and finally Ivar piled into the tent. Hvitserk's face was full of worry as he knelt beside you, his hand brushing against your cheek.
“Y/N... How are you? You’ve been out for a few hours, you fell unconscious in Ivar’s chariot.” He asked, his eyes wandering down to your exposed chest, brow frowning as he saw the large scar covering your breastbone and chest and then down to the bra you wore. “Where did you get that scar from?”
Your eyes shot up to him, freezing in place as you tried to think of an excuse. What could you say? You got it in a fight? You were born with it? You hadn’t noticed it before?
Fuck.
You let your head fall forward, putting your head in your hands before running your fingers through your hair and looking up at the gawking boys. Should you just say the truth?
“And what are you wearing?” Ubbe asked, staring at your breasts which made you quickly fold your arms over them.
“It’s a bra.” You said quietly, only causing more confusion to them.
“And the scar?” Ivar repeated Hvitserk's question again, tilting his head to the side as he studied you.
“I...” You sighed, looking at the eyes staring at you. “I got it from being struck by lightning.”
“Huh?” Ubbe said, looking at you in disbelief. Hvitserk and Ivar had the same expression plastered on their face. “Lightning?”
“Yes, lightning. When I was on my way home from work one night, I got struck by lightning.”
“Then surely you’d be dead?” Ubbe said, eyeing you up.
“Well, I would have thought the same thing. And yet I woke up in the forest after getting struck.” You started to feel as if you weren't being taken seriously.
“The forest? This isn’t making any sense, Y/N.” Hvitserk complained, adjusting himself into a better position.
“Fuck sake,” you mumbled. “Fuck it.”
You crossed your legs, turning your whole body towards them. A dull ache on your chest from the stab wound, making you wince, Hvitserk lending his hand to you.
“I’m... not from here,” you began slowly. “I’m from the year 2020, in the future.”
The Ragnarssons looked at you in shock, their mouths falling agape. They didn’t say anything so you continued.
“I had finished my shift working in the café I worked in and I was making my way home, it was late and a storm started. Thunder and lightning filled the sky and it was beautiful, breathtaking. I wanted to take a photo, but before I could, the lightning struck me. Next thing I know, I'm in a forest. I was there for three days, then Embla found me.” You gulped after saying her name. “She took me in, cared for me. Remember when I ran into Ivar the first time we all met?”
Ivar and you locked eyes, his stare was intense as if trying to figure you out. He remembered that day well, his mind would often go back to it when he would lie in bed at night. The look on your face, the way you spoke back to him as if you had no fear or knowledge of who he was. Everyone in Kattegat knew him and yet, you didn't.
“That was when I woke up, remembered what happened and started to panic. I couldn’t believe I was here and not home. Embla told me not to tell anyone about where I came from.”
Still silent.
“The Seer, the night he came to see me, he knew everything about me. About where I was from, how I got here. He said I was 'the girl who was struck by Thor’s Mjölnir’, that I was ‘chosen by the Gods’ and I believe that is why someone is after to kill me.”
The silences unsettled you, letting your eyes fall to your lap where you fiddled with your hands.
“You must be joking, did you hit your head whilst fighting?”
Your eyes shot up to meet Hvitserks, seeing him shake his head at you.
What?
“You can’t expect us to believe that, Y/N. Ubbe, bring the healer back in, I think she needs her head checked over.” Hvitserk laughed, looking at his older brother. His words stung you, out of the three brothers, you had expected him the most to believe you. You could feel your heart sink at his word, at his mockery of you.
“Hvitserk,” Ivar warned, not liking the way his older brother was talking to you. Seeing the way your face fell at his hurtful words.
“I’m telling the truth!” You argued back, grabbing your tunic beside you and slowly putting it back on, whimpering as you move your arms into it. It was torn and soaked with blood but it was all you had to wear to cover yourself.
“You’re trying to tell us that you came from a different time by lightning? Do you know how crazy you sound?” Hvitserk pressed on, still laughing. Ivar stepped forward, ready to step in and tell his brother that he needed to “shut the fuck up”. But your body moved quicker than him and before your mind processed what you were doing, the palm of your hand collided with his cheek, halting his laughter instantly. The slap echoed in the tent, silence falling again as your palm stung with pins and needles from how hard you had slapped him. His face was dumbfounded, eyes wide staring at you as if he only just realised what you did.
“You fucking prick.” You uttered, getting up and walking out the tent towards the exit of the community gates where the horses' carts were.
How dare he call you crazy! And to mock you in front of his brothers? The pain where you were stabbed made you slow down your movements, going to the cart you arrived in, you grabbed your bag.
You weren’t going to stay here, you weren’t going to be embarrassed anymore. How could Hvitserk speak to you like that? After last night? After the tender kiss he had given you? Your eyes brimmed with tears, wiping the stray tear that fell down your cheek furiously. You’re not going to cry over a man, god sake. Pull yourself together.
You heard footsteps approaching behind you, not bothering to turn and see who it was.
“Leave me alone, Hvitserk.”
“I’m insulted you mistake me for my brother, I’m certain I'm the more attractive one.”
You turn your head to see Ivar behind you, peering over your shoulder to see you gathering your things. “Leaving already?”
“Leave me alone, Ivar.” You sighed, turning around to walk past him and in the direction of which you arrived in.
“I believe you, you know.” His words surprised you, making you stop and stare at him. “About the Gods sending you here, about being from another time. I believe you.”
“You do?” You asked hesitantly, wary that he might be making another mockery out of you too. But his face was sincere, not a trace of humor in it.
He only nodded, going over to the cart and lifting himself back onto it, grunting as the pressure from standing up on his legs were taken off, leaving his legs to hang off the end of the cart and leaning his crutch against it. He patted beside him, signaling you to sit beside him. You obliged, walking over to him and hoisting yourself up beside him, placing your bag onto your lap.
It was silent for a while before he spoke again.
“Tell me about your home. Not this one, the one where you come from.”
And so you both sat and spoke. You told him about the tall buildings, about electricity, cars, and hospitals. He was mostly interested in the planes, not understanding how you could fly like a bird to another country in only a few hours. You told him about the country you were raised in before coming here. How you could take a photo and it would last forever.
He had a question for everything you told him, like a curious child. His face and eyes lit up when you showed him your broken phone in your bag, examining it and asking about how it used to work before it broke. Some of the words you said confused him, so you had to repeat it slowly and explain what it meant.
Hours had passed, the sun beginning to set in front of you both.
"Is Hvitserk angry at me for slapping him?" You asked Ivar, glancing over to him.
"He looked more confused than pissed off, as though he didn't know what he did wrong," Ivar replied, watching an irritated look cloud over your face.
“Can I see the mark on your chest again?” He asked, looking up at you from your phone in his hands. You nodded, pulling down the neckline of your tunic to expose the scar. His eyes fixated on it, never falling to your cleavage. His hand lifted up, his fingertips tracing over the lightning mark gently. Your skin rose in goosebumps, inhaling sharply as he did so. Your whole body tingled from his touch, your face flushing.
“You must be a remarkable woman for the Gods to have picked you themselves, for Thor to give you passage to your fate and mark you with his lightning.” Ivar took his hand away again, a soft smile played at his lips as he looked away from you and to the sunset. Your heavy eyes followed, seeing the sky cascading colours of red and orange, rippling through the clouds. Today had worn you out to the bone, yawning slightly.
“I wish I knew what for though, why me?”
“The Gods have their reasons, you shouldn’t question it. I have no doubt about their choice. I saw you fighting earlier, you looked like a true Viking.” He admitted. “You stood out from everyone there, you looked like Freya herself, blood on your face and yet you were... beautiful.”
He stopped speaking as he felt pressure on his shoulder, looking down to see you had fallen asleep, leaning onto his shoulder. He would normally have taken offense, maybe shouted at you for being so rude. But instead, he only stared at you. The colours from the sky reflected on your face, making you look more like the goddess Freyja. His hand reached up, his thumb gently brushing over your parted lips.
He looked back off into the sunset, the foreign feeling of his heart pounding made his brows knot together as if he couldn’t believe the feeling he felt when he stared at you. Or the feeling of how his whole body rose in goosebumps as he touched your scar.
He was jealous of you being near Hvitserk, his rage proved it last night when you slept in his bed, how you were wrapped around him for comfort when he arrived at the Great Hall, slower than Hvitserk because of his legs. But for now, this was enough to wash away the feeling of raging jealousy.
At this moment, it was as if he was in Valhalla, with you by his side.

__________________________________________
Trembling hands clenched into fists beside your body as you stared up at the large palace in front of you. You had heard whispers and tales about Asgard and it’s magnificence, but you weren’t at all ready to see the grand building with your own eyes.
Being in Asgard was a new experience, and a feeling you would have to get used to for a while. As the lone princess of your realm, Midgard, your protection was both your family’s and the rest of your realm’s priority. A war was waging back at home, a war that you could under no circumstance be in the middle of. You had begged your parents to allow you to learn the skill of wielding weapons and combat, but they only scoffed and sent you back to your chambers. After a long argument that you knew you were destined to lose, you were escorted to Asgard, a realm that you were sure to be safe in.
Odin had made a deal with your parents, allowing you to stay here as long as the war lasted in exchange for weaponry and resources. You didn’t even have a say in the negotiation before you were taken from your chambers and away from the palace you called home. And now, you were far from it.
The palace was practically glowing, and the sudden sound of one of your guards coughing next to you finally snapped you back into reality. With a slow exhale, you wiped your clammy hands on the dark green fabric of your dress and tilted up your chin. Your mother had always pestered you about your posture, and how a princess should never look nervous, only confident. While you didn’t like how your mother constantly poked at you for ‘lacking in royal etiquette’, her advice proved to be somewhat helpful at this moment in time. You wanted to make a good impression on the royals of Asgard, especially as Odin was the protector of the nine realms; the All-father.
You were met with Asgardian guards at the large gate of the palace, who bowed before you. Soon after, they guided you through the halls and along to the main hall, where your eyes immediately landed on the grand throne at the far end of the room, with Odin was comfortably sat in.
Straightening your back, you approached closer to the Odin, stopping around ten feet away from the steps up to the throne. Picking up your dress, you curtsied, just like your mother had taught you to do.
“Princess (Y/N) of Midgard, it is a pleasure to meet you.” He spoke first, looking down on you.
“The pleasure is certainly mine, All-father. My parents and I would like to sincerely thank you for your hospitality.” You weren’t sure if hospitality was the correct term, as you knew that Odin wasn’t providing you with protection out of the kindness of his heart. Nonetheless, you were still grateful that you were out of harms way, despite feeling guilty that you couldn’t help fight in the war that the rest of your realm was facing.
“We have returned, father.”
Odin only nodded before a voice behind you caused you to turn around. More men wandered into the hall, but one in particular caught your eye. His blond hair sat carefully on his broad shoulders, and a red cape brushed the back of his legs as he approached you.
His large biceps and overall size intimidated you the smallest bit, and you mentally confirmed that he was no normal Asgardian.
“Father, you did not inform us of a visitor.” He spoke deeply to the man perched in the throne behind you, before lowering his gaze to you.
“This is Princess (Y/N), of Midgard.” Odin responded. It annoyed you a little that you couldn’t introduce yourself, but you brushed it off and focused on the man in front of you. “She will be inhabiting Asgard for the time being.”
The blond nodded, his brows furrowed in confusion at his father from the sudden news, but he still slowly took your left hand and brought it to his lips. “It’s an honour to meet you, Princess (Y/N). I am Prince Thor, son of Odin.”
A small smile appeared on your lips as he let go of your hand, his name being one you’d only heard stories about back on Midgard. “You are the God of Thunder, yes?”
He grinned proudly. “That is me, Princess (Y/N).”
The word princess was starting to get on your nerves - you’d never heard the title so many times in one day. However, you hadn’t really known anyone there long enough to be comfortable with them referring to you by only your first name - it was only really close friends and family who did that back on Midgard.
“Son, where is your brother? He ventured out of the palace with you, did he not?” Odin called from behind the you and the god.
“He has already returned to his chambers.” Thor replied. “Should I fetch him?”
Odin waved a dismissive hand. “Not at this moment, but make sure he is present for dinner this evening - he must put his brooding on hold for an hour to meet the princess.”
With a nod, Thor turned away from his father. His eyes landed on a woman with a long, chocolate brown ponytail in her hair who appeared to be waiting for him outside of the hall. You watched as he motioned for her to come over to the two of you.
“Sif, this is Princess (Y/N) of Midgard, she’s going to be staying with us in Asgard for a while. You wouldn’t mind showing her to the guest chambers, would you?” The god looked down at you with a grin. “I would like to do it myself, but I unfortunately have other matters to tend to.”
Sif seemed a little unnerved by the fact that she was being given the job of looking after the Midgardian princess, but nevertheless nodded and gestured for you to follow her out of the hall. “Not at all. Follow me, Your Highness.”
Before following her out, you shot Thor a kind smile. “It was lovely to meet you, Prince Thor.”
You caught back up to Sif, missing the slight blush that had risen on Thor’s cheeks.
There was a short silence between you and Sif, and you weren’t sure whether to break it or not. It was important to you that you were liked around the kingdom, but you would’ve been understanding if there were people who weren’t too happy you’d hidden away in Asgard away from the war in your own kingdom. While it wasn’t your decision to be sent away, you weren’t about to explain your situation to everyone who didn’t like the idea of you being in their realm.
Sif turned her head in your direction, not looking at you properly, but clearly showing her attention was on you. “May I ask what your business is here in Asgard, Your Highness?”
“There is a war taking place on Midgard as of now,” You answered. “My parents don’t believe it is safe for me to be in the middle of it.”
“Do you share that thought?” Sif asked, throwing you off guard. The question itself didn’t bother you, as you knew what the answer was. It was more the woman’s quickness in following up her previous question that startled you.
You sighed. “My opinion on the subject does not make a difference, but no. I do not share that thought.”
Sif led you to a door at the end of one of the corridors, and you assumed you had arrived at your chambers. “But you’re a princess, doesn’t that count for something?”
With a hand on the knob of your door, you brought your conversation with the brunette to a close. “Lady Sif, I don’t think one can truly understand the life of a princess unless they experience it first hand. What you gain in respect from your kingdom, you lose in your freedom.”
- - -
Sipping your glass of wine slowly, your eyes glanced around the room. A feast was laid out on the table you were sat at, ongoing large plates of Asgardian delicacies begged to be devoured. However, the nerves you’d been experiencing all day had stolen your appetite, so the wine was quite enough for you for the night.
Opposite you sat Thor, who was happily digging into the different combinations of food he had slapped on his plate. You couldn’t help but smile at the god, who accidently locked eyes with you while his mouth was stuffed with meat. Colour rised in his cheeks as you chuckled under your breath and looked down at your empty plate, and the man shrugged off the embarrassment and continued to feast.
Odin, however, did not look so happy. You could only assume it was because his other son hadn’t shown his face at the dinner. Loki, you had learned his name was. He wasn’t so much as talked about as Thor back in Midgard, and perhaps that was because he didn’t share the same traits and values as his brother.
“Are you alright, dear?” A soft voice spoke from beside you, startling you. When you turned to find the source of the voice, you saw Frigga, the Queen of Asgard, analysing your body language in concern. She must’ve caught on to your nervous demeanour.
“I’m fine, thank you.” You forced a smile. “Would it be okay if I stepped out for a moment? I think I need some fresh air.”
Frigga nodded. “Of course. Once you leave the dining hall, the first door on your right will lead to a balcony. I am sure the view alone will calm your nerves.”
Standing up, you smoothed out your dress and gave the queen a more genuine smile. “Thank you, Your Majesty.”
“Please, Frigga is fine, my dear.”
And with that, you tried to leave the hall as fast as possible, not wanting to draw any attention to yourself. In the corner of your eye, you could see Sif watching you curiously as you rushed out. However, that didn’t bother you - you just needed to get to the balcony and forget about everything, if only for a moment.
After gently opening up the door to the balcony, you immediately knew what Frigga meant when she said the view would calm you down. You were overlooking the palace grounds, and the view was, well, mesmerising. The place was nothing like Midgard. Your eyes were instantly drawn to the long, glimmering rainbow path running from the palace to the Bifrost, which you hadn’t realised was so majestic when you were first guided up it to the palace.
You leaned your bare forearms onto the metal railing and let out a sigh. Allowing your eyes to flutter shut for a moment or two, you thought about what you were missing back at home. What were your parents doing? Were they safe? Was anyone in Midgard safe? You felt a pang of guilt again, thinking about how you were the only one truly protected from the war. Sure, you were the only princess in the kingdom, but how did that make you worth more than any other innocent person? Why shouldn’t you have been subjected to the horror of war like everyone else?
“Already sick of eating dinner alongside my family? It seems we have at least one thing in common, Princess.”
Flicking your eyes open, you turned to look behind you to see who was addressing you. You laid eyes upon a tall, dark haired man, dressed in dark green royal attire - much like the colour of your dress.
From the clothing he wore, you could only assume he was Odin’s other son; the second prince.
“Prince Loki, I’m assuming?” You tilted your chin up questioningly.
A smirk crept onto his lips. “In the flesh.”
Resisting the grin that threatened to spread on your face at his cockiness, you turned back around and leaned against the railing. “I am not sick of their company. I just needed a minute alone to... process things.”
His figure approached yours, and he reached his arms forward to lean on the railing next to you, mirroring the way you were looking down on the kingdom. After a few seconds, you looked up at him and raised your brow. In turn, he furrowed his when he noticed you eyeing him.
“You do know the definition of alone, do you not, Prince Loki?”
The man scoffed. “Is my presence unwanted here, Princess?”
“My name isn’t Princess, you know.”
He only smiled smugly at your statement.
Realising he wasn’t going to reply, you looked away from him and back at the kingdom. “I think your father was hoping you would make an appearance at dinner.”
Loki lowered his gaze. “Well, unluckily for him, my father will not see me for the rest of the evening.”
“Are you not hungry?” You asked.
He didn’t respond with words. Instead, he held out his right hand in front of him. You were unsure of what he was doing, until you saw a flash of green, and noticed that his palm was no longer empty.
Two pieces of liquorice laid in his palm, and he used his other hand to pick up one of them and pop it into his mouth. It was then his turn to raise his brow at you as he chewed the sweet substance. You were slightly shocked, as you had only briefly heard of Loki’s magical abilities back on Midgard, and you weren’t expecting to witness them on your first day in the place.
“You can not simply replace eating meals with conjuring candy.”
“I am a god, Princess. I can do what I please.”
Your brows knitted together confusedly. “The god of what?”
Loki ignored your question, picking up the other piece of liquorice and holding it out to you, seemingly offering it to you. Your expression remained puzzled as your eyes flicked between him and the piece of candy in his hand. After a couple of seconds, you reached up to take the liquorice from him.
However, before you could, the god moved his arm swiftly behind him, taking the candy out of your reach. He paced backwards, his blue eyes remaining on you as he stood in front of the balcony doors. Before bringing his hand up to drop the piece of liquorice on his own tongue, he smirked, his eyes dazzling from the reflection of the sunlight.
“Mischief.”

Thor: Love & Thunder
[3.5 stars]
This fourth installment of Thor’s saga is actually beautifully constructed and even has one of the better openings for an MCU film. The pre-credit roll sets up Christian Bale’s (Ford v Ferrari) backstory with great motivation to support him through the plot. But then, to borrow a phrase I saw often during it’s theatrical release: it tries just a bit too hard.
Taika Waititi (Lightyear) hits the emotional moments well, but can’t seem to give up humor…way too often. Which isn’t to say that humor isn’t a large part of the Thor series (or even the MCU) but it just wasn’t needed as often as he leaned into it. It got in the way of the flow, stopping action and interaction in disruptive ways. And the overall result is that Phase 4 continues to be nebulous and confused for me at best.
Up through Endgame, the MCU was clearly building toward something. Character’s lives and stories were intersecting. Themes were reflective of one another. Since then there have been some good (and some not so good) stand-alone tales, with only the Doctor Strange multiverse concept to hold it all together. And that could be enough if it didn’t feel so forced most of the time. Only Spider-Man managed to make it all feel like there was a bigger purpose so far, and those movies are only technically MCU thanks to the Sony deal.
OK, enough kvetching. Did I have fun? Yes, mostly. Was the story good? Yes, mostly. Though, honestly I found the hierarchy of the gods that was depicted to be surprisingly Western and insulting to just about every other religion around the globe. And that choice is going to come back in future movies for sure. I do have to admit I liked the intent of the main plots and issues for Chris Hemsworth’s (Spiderhead) Thor and Natalie Portman’s (V for Vendetta) Jane. And even Tessa Thompson (Westworld) got a solid arc in there. But it’s an uneven movie with tongue firmly planted in cheek despite the serious nature of the main plot.
Basically, this is my least favorite of the Thor outings because of forced humor and halting flow. But it’s still fun and it may grow on me in time. It’s essential watching for MCU fans, so no choice there. I’m just hoping they can do better going forward.

Thor : Love And Thunder Review & Ending Explained : What's Happened ?
Thor: Love and Thunder is finally in theaters. We suspect that you have many questions about the ending of the latest Marvel movie . There are many plot threads left hanging from the Marvel Phase 4 project. Uncertain fates of some characters remain, and the film's ending scenes hint at the arrival of new heroes/gods. This suggests that there could be a Thor spinoff. The MCU's journey of the god of thunder may not be complete yet. After the credits roll, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), fans will have plenty to reflect on. Here's where we step in. We'll take you through Thor: Love and Thunder’s ending. This includes the fates and arrivals of certain characters. We will also discuss the characters that appear in the scenes between and after credits and speculate about what these could mean for the future of Marvel Cinematic Universe. contains spoilers for Thor, Love and Thunder. You haven't seen Thor: Love and Thunder yet? Why are you still here? You'll not want it to end. But, before you do, make sure to read our spoiler-free review Thor 4, which will give you a clear idea of the latest solo adventure of the Norse god. Thor: Love and Thunder Plot Synopsis Love and Thunder's main plot involves Thor and Jane Foster, aka. Korg, King Valkyrie, Mighty Thor and King Valkyrie join forces to recruit Gods and defeat Gorr the Butcher. His motivations are purely vengeance against Gods. The fate of the universe is in question, with all the usual CGI monsters and big fights at the end. Are Thor and his gang victorious? Thor Love And Thunder Review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dNwDob56aw Thor: Love And Thunder Review Thor: Love and Thunder looked certain to be a huge success. After 2017's highly entertaining Thor: Ragnarok and with Chris Hemsworth's Asgardian Avenger finding his comedy groove, director Taika Waititi returns to the helm. Natalie Portman makes her dramatic return to live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe after nine years. Surprisingly the 29th MCU movie, which arrives in theaters July 8, fails to meet expectations. Thor's fourth solo adventure, which tries to balance comedy and drama while combining multiple classic comic storylines in one narrative, feels too thin and shallow. The film opens promisingly with a dramatic introduction that introduces Christian Bale's evil Gorr the God Butcher. His daughter is killed in his desert home, and he meets a cruel god who drives him to launch a campaign to kill all divine beings. This sequence is calm and atmospheric, giving Bale time to perform and allowing us the opportunity to feel his confusion, despair and rage. The roller coaster begins when the Marvel Studios logo appears. Do you feel any emotional resonance? You're not getting emotional resonance in this movie. In Avengers: Endgame 2019, Thor was seen for the first time. He had decided to join Guardians of the Galaxy after Thanos' defeat. The God of Thunder outclasses all his new friends, rendering him look like a video game character. He crushes their enemies and renders the Guardians a little useless. A visually stunning, colorful action sequence is presented. However, Thor and his ally Korg (Waititi), soon decide to take their own path. They abandon the Guardians storyline, and waste Chris Pratt and Karen Gillan before the joke can develop. This movie seems to be eager to escape the pesky continuity to return to the Asgardian storyline from Thor's solo movies. Thor meets Jane Foster (Portman), his ex-girlfriend on Earth. She is fighting Gorr, an Asgardian who attacks Thor's fellow Asgardians. After being deemed worthy during her darkest hour, she's now wielding Mjolnir, an old hammer from which he gained similar powers. This storyline should be Love & Thunder's emotional heart, given Jane's very real human health issues. It doesn't take enough time to let the challenges Jane faces sink in. The movie is too eager to move on to the next adventure and it has some dramatic moments that are also ruined by the two post-credits scenes. This need for speed extends into the action -- Jane uses her new abilities in amazing ways but neither editing nor cinematography allow us to enjoy this. You won't be able to retain many of the shots in this movie the same way that moments from other MCU adventures will. Nothing can reach the heights of Captain America's elevator brawl or three Spider-Men launching into battle, Scarlet Witch's encounters with the Illuminati. Although Jane and Thor's awkwardness is at first quite funny, largely because of Portman's charismaticism and chemistry, it doesn't progress in a compelling way. It's easier to remember a joke about Thor and Stormbreaker than a one-liner, which quickly becomes tiresome. King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) rounds out the heroes team. She's bored playing the role of leader of New Asgard's magical tourist trap. Although the movie doesn't explore her ennui enough Thompson injects enough mischief into the character to make it a delight to watch. Her wardrobe choices are a hint of her fascinating inner life. The Phantom of the Opera shirt is more interesting than any superhero costume. Jane and Valkyrie have a peaceful conversation that is one of the best scenes in the film. It's rare for the movie to slow down and allow its writers and actors the space to connect emotionally. It's hard to ignore Hemsworth’s magnetic screen presence, comic timing, and imbecile comic timing. But one cannot help but wonder if the adventure would have been better without Thor. Gorr's threat is greatly diminished after his memorable introduction. As Thor continues his trail of divine slaughter, the comics counterpart to The God Butcher (introduced by Jason Aaron's 2012 Thor: God of Thunder) feels like a significant threat. Love and Thunder is merely a reference to this. It mainly reduces Gorr’s villainy to kidnapping Asgardian kids as part of an even grander plot. Gorr doesn't feel like a threat to the heroes and he feels more like Gorr, the God Botherer. Despite this, Bale's performance is outstanding and Bale's aesthetic choices give the character a lot of creepy spectral boogeyman vibes. This was evidently inspired by Aphex Twin’s disturbing Come to Daddy music videos. The MCU's midpoint confrontation with the heroes is one of the most striking sequences visually, thanks to its clever use of color and shadow. Although this movie isn’t as full of cameos as Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness (its immediate MCU predecessor), it does feature Russell Crowe as a narcissistic Zeus. His role is largely limited to one set piece, which proves to be largely insignificant as the main narrative moves on. Love and Thunder is not able to live up the amazing stories it was inspired by. It doesn't follow the director's direction and does not maximize its dramatic potential. Instead, it feels more like a superficial, unsatisfying mashup. Although it's still a funny, silly entry in MCU's canon, it's not the classic Thor adventure that its handsome hero thinks he's on. Score : 8/10 Thor: Love and Thunder ending explained *spoilers* & FAQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOD-gPL3aPs Thor 4: Love And Thunder Ending Explained By Nerd Doc Thor: Love and Thunder opens with Gorr, the God Butcher (Christian Bale's villain), stumbling through a desert with his daughter in his arms. He desperately cries out to his God, the Bringer of Light, to save them. But to no avail. He is left with his daughter, who has died in his arms. But he hears a voice calling him and he meets his God at what appears to be the gate to the afterlife. Gorr tells Gorr how he has dedicated his life to worshiping God, but it soon becomes apparent that his devotion is futile. There will be no eternal glory. The Gorr is summoned by the Necrosword, which lies on the ground, to embrace its power and become the God Butcher. Thor (Chris Hemsworth), has now lost his "sad body" from Endgame, and is now going around the universe with the Guardians of the Galaxy. After Lady Sif's distress call, however, he quickly parted ways with the group. It turns out that Gods are being murdered all over the world. Thor sets out to find them and knows where a God-killer would be headed next: New Asgard. He returns to Earth where Jane Foster is now able to wield Mjolnir. Jane has been fighting Stage 4 cancer for years and her treatment is not working. Mjolnir's healing abilities are recognized by the astrophysicist and Jane heads to New Asguard to find out if she is worthy to be the Mighty Thor. Gorr attacks New Asgard, bringing his army of shadow creatures. However, he fails to kill Thor. Instead, he steals the Asgardian children from Asgard and imprisons them at the Shadow Realm. Thor, Heimdall's child, figures out Gorr’s plan and joins Valkyrie and Korg to form an army of Gods to defeat Gorr. The maniacal Zeus refuses help in Omnipotence City but does reveal that Gorr could be heading to Eternity. He could make a wish to kill all Gods there. This doesn't seem to phase Zeus. Thor fights the Gods of Lightning and appears to kill him. Zeus then steals his Lightning Bolt. Only Korg's head survives. Jane confides in Thor on the journey that she is dying from cancer, and the two reconcile. The Shadow Realm is where the color drains from all things. Jane soon realizes that this is a trap. Gorr wants them there as the key to Eternity. This is done using Thor's Stormbreaker axe. Gorr seizes the weapon, Valkyrie and Jane are badly hurt in the crossfire. Jane is unable to function due to Mjolnir's draining of her energy. The Bifrost takes the trio back home to New Asguard. They decide that Thor must take on Gorr and they head to Eternity. Thor is able to transfer his powers onto the Asgardian kids, and they defeat the God Butcher as well as the shadow creatures. Jane comes to the rescue. Thor rescues Stormbreaker and sends the children home with the Bifrost. They destroy Gorr’s power source, the Necrosword. Gorr is able to get through the Eternity gate, however, because it is open. Jane and Thor follow him, and instead of fighting Gorr, they offer an alternative: Why kill all Gods when you could have his daughter back? Jane looks at Thor and tells the God Butcher that the young girl will have no one because he's dead. Gorr's daughter passes through the gate to Eternity. Gorr dies, Jane becomes stardust and Thor adopts her. They return to New Asguard where Lady Sif and King Valkyrie are training the children. Korg has found Dwayne, a boyfriend and Thor and his adopted child fight side-by-side. Their superhero names? Love and Thunder. But, wait! Enjoy these two scenes after-credits. The first shows that Zeus is still living and wants people to fear Gods again. Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein plays Hercules. The second scene after credits takes us to Valhalla, where Jane is welcomed into eternal paradise by Heimdall's Idris Elba. Is Jane Foster actually dead? Is The Mighty Thor still alive? Jane Foster's disease is the most tragic story in Thor: Love and Thunder. We learn early in the movie that Thor's beloved scientist and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster has been diagnosed as having Stage 4 cancer. Darcy Lewis is her doctor, and she's currently undergoing treatment. But nothing seems to be working. It seems like Mjolnir might be her salvation, but then it becomes apparent that it is actually draining her energy to fight the disease, echoing the Mighty Thor storyline. Jane decides to become the Mighty Thor one last time at the end of the movie. After helping Thor bring the Asgardian children home she becomes the God of Thunder. Her body is disintegrated into dust after she tells Thor that her love for him. This is similar to Odin's death in Thor: Ragnarok. After the credits, Heimdall welcomes her into Valhalla. It is confirmed that she has died. Natalie Portman may return in the future to a similar afterlife scene, but it appears that this is the end of her character in MCU. How did Jane get into Valhalla When Thor speaks to Sif early in the movie, he explains the rules for getting into Valhalla. Only warriors who have died in battle are allowed into the afterlife of gods. Jane is killed while fighting Gorr at Eternity Gate in her Mighty Thor form. She also becomes the Mighty Thor and gains Asgardian powers. As an Asgardian, she is granted access to the afterlife. How did Jane Foster become the Mighty Thor?! Jane becomes the Mighty Thor as soon as she lifts the Mjolnir. Asgardian powers of super strength, and the ability to travel on the Bifrost are part of this Asgardian status. Although it isn't clear exactly how she makes the transition, it appears to be due to a vow Thor made to his hammer make. Jane and he were still together, he told Mjolnir that he would always protect Jane. This then seems to be sealed into the book. Is Gorr dead? Is Gorr dead? The Mighty Thor and Thor defeat Gorr's Necrosword. This is what gave him his God-butchering abilities. He loses his Necrosword and reverts to his human, dying form, as it drains too much of his energy. Gorr is close to death when he stumbles through Infinity's gates. He succumbs quickly to it. Gorr changed his mind about Eternity. Zeus, Thor's companion on the journey to Omnipotence city, explains Gorr’s plans to attain Eternity and grant the wish that all Gods should die. Gorr makes a decision to make a different choice when he reaches Eternity. Instead, he decides to bring back his daughter from the dead. Gorr realizes that his daughter may have another chance at life after the Necrosword, a corrupting force, is destroyed. Who are Love and Thunder, and where are they now? Where are they now? Thor has a kind of daughter. Gorr requests Eternity to bring his daughter back to life and Thor is appointed her caretaker. The movie's final scene shows the couple living on a ship in domestic bliss. This scene is filled with adorable details. Thor is having breakfast, while the young girl draws a face on Mjolnir. Although we don't know where they are, they run into battle when the door opens. We find out that Thor and Gorr's daughters are named "Love and Thunder". Korg doesn’t make it obvious who is who, however Chris Hemsworth seemed to have given this information in an interview before the movie's release. He spoke to Kevin McCarthy (opens in new tab) and revealed that India Rose Hemsworth is the character's father. He said that his daughter, India Rose Hemsworth, is also there and plays the role of Love. He also said that Hemsworth's young character may not be reprising the role after the film. Hemsworth said that it was a family event and a fun one-off experience. They shouldn't become actors and child stars. They loved it and had a wonderful time. Where are the Guardians of the Galaxy? Thor: Love and Thunder doesn't feature a large role for the Guardians of the Galaxy. They leave the film very early. They head in one direction when a lot of distress calls are received from areas under attack by Gorr while Thor follows Sif. We never see them again and it isn't mentioned how they did in their mission. We will soon see them in the The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, directed by James Gunn. It is available on Disney Plus in December. They will then be seen in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (which is due for release on May 3, 2023). Who starred in Thor: Love and Thunder, and who did it? Thor: Love and Thunder has many great cameos. New Asgard reveals that Ragnarok's theater troupe survived and has added members to its ranks. Matt Damon returns as Loki, Sam Neill is Odin, Luke Hemsworth plays Thor, and Sam Neill is as Odin. Melissa McCarthy plays Hela and Ben Falcone, her husband in real life, appears as the director of this mini-play. Other cameos are limited to Jenny Morris, a musician, as one the New Asagardians and Simon Russell Beale, a singer, as one the gods of Omnipotence-city. The movie also features roles for Bale's, Waititi, Portman, and Hemsworth children. Stellan Skarsgard reprises his role as Erik Selvig in Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, he was mentioned in Endgame as being bluff. Is there a scene after the credits? Yes! Yes! The first is after the stylized credits when we return to Omnipotence, and the second is right at the end. How did Zeus survive? During the fight at Omnipotence city, Zeus was apparently killed by his Lightning Bolt weapon. In the scene after credits, however, Zeus is clearly still alive. His attendants are seen cleaning his wounds, making it appear that he was only injured and not killed. Although there is no clear explanation for how he survived, it appears that his healing powers could be involved. Who plays Hercules in MCU? Who is he? Credit : FW The most significant reveal in the post-credits scenes was the introduction of a new MCU superhero. Zeus is off-screen speaking to someone and ranting: "It seems that being a God used be something. People want superheroes. When did we become the joke? As we see Brett Goldstein's Hercules, the camera turns. (See our guide to Hercules: Thor: Love and Thunder for more information. Although it's only a brief glimpse of him in his shining golden armor, it looks like he could be a major part in Marvel's future. As Zeus orders him to take revenge on the Gods of Thunder, this scene shows him as a possible villain for Thor. Hercules in the comics is based upon the Greek god Zeus. He has many of the same abilities as him including speed, endurance, superhuman strength, durability and speed. Marvel Phase 4 will be interesting to see how it plays out. Is there a Thor 5? It's revealed that Thor will be returning at the end of the credits sequence. We don't know how he will return. The last scenes suggest that there are more things in store for Asgardians. He is now a father and has a new enemy (Hercules). It could lead to a fifth Thor movie or evolve into another MCU property. Thor 5 plot: Here's what this story could include Love and Thunder ends with Thor and Gorr's daughter, named Love. They team up to protect the universe. Thor and Mjolnir are reunited as Love is equipped with Stormbreaker. Thor promised to care for Love before Gorr's death and is fulfilling that promise as "Uncle Thor." Evidently, there would be a follow up to see Thor as Love's guardian. Thor's introduction to Hercules makes it clear that things will not be easy for him. Zeus instructed his son to make mortals respect and fear the gods once more. If Hercules is terrorizing humanity, Thor and Love will undoubtedly intervene. A showdown can be expected between Hercules and the thunder god, as the pair are often enemies in comics. However, they have teamed up on numerous occasions, so Hercules won't remain a bad guy for too long. There's also the Valhalla reveal. Heimdall was killed in Avengers: Infinity War. Jane Foster is welcomed into the Viking afterlife with Love and Thunder. While it is uncertain if either of these characters will be back in Thor 5, time will tell. However, they are clearly not finished in the MCU and would make worthy allies in any fight against Zeus or Hercules. Read the full article

v; fallout group verse - closed
This, is in all honesty, mostly because I know people have to be going, “...what the fuck,” about shenanigans. This, hopefully, will clarify those to a degree.
Consider all of this, but let’s make some changes. In the aftermath of the bombs, Tony and Stephen Strange ( @rahasyamay ) run into each other, each doing their own putting out of fires, metaphorically and literally. The Sorcerer Supreme has, ah. A lengthy lifespan, too, so Tony and Stephen end up as a close knit family unit (the romance thing just isn’t a thing for them, if there has been hanky panky it was very brief and no doubt loneliness-induced) in the years following the bombs. Shortly before the pair follow the BOS into the Commonwealth (relative on what shortly means), the courier from the Mojave arrives in New York, Elle Days ( @gwinnetts ), and ends up being adopted by Doctor Wizard Dad and Tired Iron Dad.
Tony and Stephen leave for the Commonwealth, with the plan being that Elle will follow them in at a slower pace (meaning once they’ve scoped things out and made sure it’s safe) on the motorcycle Tony’s tinkered on for her in his spare time. And it...Mostly goes to plan until Elle is jumped by a courser and her AI version of Yes Man ( formerly @securitrcn ) is taken. Elle ends up in Goodneighbor, with her Superhero Dads starting to get worried when she doesn’t arrive on schedule and they find the wreckage of her bike.
Fort Hagen is the place Tony and Stephen claim at first, where Tony takes the actual military post and Stephen claiming the Fort Hagen Blood Clinic. The intentions are a makeshift lab for Tony, but Stephen sees potential in the clinic with aspirations to turn it into a working hospital, since he can’t use his hands like he did anymore, no, but he can pass on his medical knowledge, and the clinic will eventually become a functioning, real teaching hospital. From here, the two agree to go separate ways, both looking for Elle, both scoping out the Commonwealth on the whole for similar and differing reasons.
Stephen will meet the Cabots and find out the Commonwealth is hiding a lot of bad news goodies of his particular interest that he wants to secure. He’ll also end up with Croup (later nicknamed Mooch by the Avenger squad, Recoup by everyone) Manor as a somewhat makeshift Sanctum Sanctorum in Boston. It also doubles as something of a respite for healing and a veterinary clinic! And yes. Bats is in attendance. You get used to him.
Fun fact! Tony won’t sleep in the main building. It’s creepy in there and while yes, he knows whatever’s going on can totally be explained by science, he will later use his boyfriend’s reluctance to sleep in the main manor and use one of the smaller surrounding buildings he and Zetta ( @gwinnetts ) builds as an excuse not to. Croup Manor is weird and no one likes it. Except Stephen.
Meanwhile, Tony cuts a path through the Commonwealth to get information. Diamond City points him at Bunker Hill, Bunker Hill points him to Goodneighbor. In Goodneighbor, he meets a former Gunner by the name of Robert Joseph MacCready ( @gwinnetts ), hires him for info on the Gunners, and intends to leave it at that, intending on making his caps back with a few games of pool before striking out to see what he can see. When he leaves Goodneighbor, he’s still got a short, smartassed merc with him, and decides what the hell, he can make use of an extra gun. Besides, he’ll be able to foist this guy off on someone else, and he’s just a merc, right?
(Wrong, Tony. You are very wrong.)
Time passes. They meet the sole survivor of Vault 111, Zetta Reynolds ( @gwinnetts ). Thor ( @torrrden ) shows up at the 11th hour as usual wondering what the hell has happened before ending up befriending a bunch of super mutants. Croup Manor becomes something of a meeting place/gathering place/family dinner location despite how weird it is.
And then, after years of telling the universe, “GIVE ME BACK MY RHODEY,” the universe complies with Tony. Rhodey ( @alloyally ), still part of the United States Air Force during the Great War, having been in many of its campaigns, and playing a bit of a game with the US Government concerning Tony’s anti-war shenanigans before the war (”I’ve been told to tell you that your behavior isn’t appreciated and you need to stop. Wanna get take out?” “It has been noted and ignored. Pizza?”), disappeared not long before the bombs fell. Given his deployments, this wasn’t an unusual thing, no, but Tony has never been able to find another speck of information about him in the years since, and has assumed him dead.
In truth, in the decades before the war, Jack Cabot exchanged some of his immortality serum with the government, in exchange for tech to better examine and understand his father Lorenzo’s weird crown that has seemingly driven him mad. The government has been trying to remake the super soldier serum since its success with Steve Rogers/Captain America, and with that serum in hand, do so again, this time with Colonel James Rupert Rhodes. Rhodey’s been out for a while, and is discovered in stasis by the Brotherhood of Steel, who wake him, orient him, and use him as a unique asset with the rank of Knight.
You can imagine how long he stays with the BOS once Tony finds out he’s alive. Spoiler: Not long. And you can imagine how attached at the hip Tony is with him after the fact. Spoiler: It goes something like “I’m in the bathroom, I can hear you breathing out there.”
You can imagine, too, how well MacCready reacts to that without having a reason to react to that way. Spoiler: Like a jealous boyfriend. That has no right to be jealous. But is gonna be jealous anyway and thank God, these two knuckleheads finally talk it out.
While forever in development and constantly being added on to (including more and more people being dragged into it), some other highlights include: + Sexual tension! Mistakes being made! Tony and Zetta doing the do! Because they’re both too smart, too stubborn, and you know the whole trope of, “Make me,” being sexual tension that leads to actual sex? That’s it. That them. Plus he got a nice booty and Zetta ain’t stupid. + MacCready’s quest changes! Tony moves too slow for the whole idea of affinity and gets into a snit when MacCready takes off to take care of the Gunners by himself! Zetta tracks his scrawny little merc ass down and calls in the calvary (Tony)! Iron Man as Iron Man gets some play! Lots of Gunners die! Mostly because the won’t back down! It’s a mess! Angry Tony! Lots of bad feels all around! + The Rock Saga! It’s legit verse canon now! Robert Joseph MacCready is the worst boyfriend ever! + Stephen and his crush on Daisy of Goodneighbor! Respecting KLEO because she’s a strong independent woman who don’t need a prime directive! + Duncan gets brought to the Commonwealth! He’s officially the most protected kid ever with Tony being Tired Iron Dad and MacCready being MacCready! Bonus points for the toy soldier going to him like it should have all along! Dad!Tony reading Tolkien on request at bedtime because he hates Tolkien! Changing the ending because you don’t tell a kid as young as Duncan his favorite in the Hobbit (Kili) dies! + Elle being loved! + Yes Man being loved and appreciated and encouraged to grow as his own person! + The Overboss that leaves Nuka World because he’s sick of the raiders unruly shit is a legit former Golden Age pirate ( @pyratetm )! + Avengers Assemble becomes a thing again! + People using Tony as a flashlight! Tony getting annoyed by that! + Changes to all major questlines to make them canon divergent as hell because this is as much fix-it as it is rp! + Colonel James Rhodes becoming General Rhodes of the Minutemen! + M.O.E. the rebuilt synth! He’s a first run prototype of the OS and personality matrices and is buggy as hell! Everyone loves M.O.E. anyway! + Keep tuning in to find out what other bullshit we shove in this verse because this is already really long!

Stream of consciousness babble re: Thor Ragnarok
So. Thor: Ragnarok. I have feels. Let me tell you them.
First off...and I feel bad saying this considering my great love for Darcy Lewis and Jane Foster...but out of the three Thor films, this one is kind of the best of them. It also provides a cap on a satisfying and full character arc for Thor over all three movies (more so than what we saw in CA:CW, but don’t get me started on that because I am still bitter over Avengers 2.5 or Iron Man 4, take your pick of description - imho, of course. If you feel differently that’s cool too). Needless to say, I enjoyed the movie immensely and do recommend it.
Okay, more spoilery thoughts after the cut…
If we want to go Shakespearean with it, I almost feel like I have to compare Thor’s character arc to Prince Hal, from the do-nothing Prince to King Henry V, who comes into his own and leads his people. And by the end of the movie, Thor is the leader of Asgard, though the definition of Asgard is...interesting at that point. Thor also loses his safety blanket of Mjolnir, but the twist of Mjolnir being just a tool and not the ultimate source of the God of Thunder’s power is a nice one. There’s also kind of the idea that you can’t go home again, that sometimes you have to sacrifice the land of that home to create a new home somewhere else. In any case, I actually like that they pretty much blew Asgard to dust at the end of the movie.
Hela. Marvel has finally given us our female villain and holy hell, she is impressive. She also seems like one of the most powerful that they’ve given us thus far, which makes her worth it to me. It’s interesting that they make a point of constantly referring to her as the Goddess of Death, if only because of what that means for Thanos. In the comics, Thanos is very in love with the personification of Death and is trying to court her by bringing the universe to her feet, if I recall correctly. Of course, if I also recall correctly his main rival for her affections is Deadpool, so do with that what you will. That said, I do feel like they kind of rushed things with Hela a bit - I have so many questions about her background and her history with Odin and Asgard (i.e. is Frigga her mother? What sort of magic did Odin do to bind her away? If Asgardians are as old as they say they are, why does no one else remember Hela and has ever mentioned to Thor and Loki that oops, yeah, Odin had another child and she’s bugfuck crazy, which is why we don’t talk about her any more). I want the answers to these questions and I didn’t quite get them, which kind of lends to the rushed feeling of the movie.
Bruce. THE DURAN DURAN T-SHIRT IS TONY’S BRB LAUGHING FOREVER AT THAT. And I mean that with all the affection possible - I love Duran Duran. Poor Bruce needs therapy after this incident, I think, considering that he spent over two years as the Hulk and didn’t remember a bit of it. That’s...not a good sign. That said I now need all the fics of Bruce and Thor being intergalactic best buds, because reasons. Mark Ruffalo is always awesome as Bruce, so really, his presence here was well needed, especially considering how they treated many of the other recurring characters in this movie.
Which definitely falls under the category of a giant, stinking CON for this movie - they did their recurring characters dirty. The Warriors Three were sent out in rather undignified fashions mostly (Hogun tried, but Hela’s beating everyone’s ass in at that point) after being on screen for maybe 30 seconds a piece, Sif didn’t even get a mention that I heard (If they mentioned something please tell me, I probably missed it), and Jane dumped Thor’s ass in between movies. At least Jane threw him over, which is probably the right move if your boyfriend’s been on an interplanetary business trip for the past two years with barely any contact in between. At least they left her alive. I can do good things to her in fic instead. No mention of Darcy either, which is probably a blessing because again, fic.
Okay, back to some positives - Valkyrie. She is awesome and I will not hear anyone say otherwise. Her first scene is impressive, and from one fellow lush to another I raise my glass to her. There’s the question of her age though, which is looped in with Hela’s sparse background story - how old exactly is she if she was the only survivor of Hela’s first attempt at taking over the universe that neither Loki nor Thor ever heard of?? Are all Asgardians that long lived? Or was there a collective memory wipe, or something like that. I will say that the Asgardians, even the civilians, are damn badass, which I love. Especially Heimdall, who is really the heart and soul of Asgard.
Loki - who the hell did your makeup for this movie? Because damn, I could see the pancake makeup clear through the screen. Okay, more seriously, Loki definitely comes off as more of the Trickster God here rather than the evil bastard of his first two appearances, even though it was his actions of banishing Odin to earth that pretty much kicked off the twilight of the gods. And I find it interesting that they do almost seem to be heading to a Loki redemption tale, as he really was ultimately on the side of the heroes here instead of the villains, and mostly acted for the betterment of the Asgardians at the end. Mostly. Look, we all know that fucker swiped the Tesseract after that glance he gave it in the last scene when he went to wake Surtur up, and dollars to donuts that’s going to be one of the things that draws Thanos’ attention straight to earth. But I do have to say, I like Trickster!Loki a hell of a lot more than Villain!Loki.
Also, Loki and Valkyrie. I kinda ship them. If feels a bit wrong, but it could be oh-so-good.
Finally, I have to mention the music.
*turns up the Zeppelin and howls along* Ahhhhhh-Ah-ahhhhhhhh-AH!
*clears throat* Anyway. Look, Thor and his crew kicking ass to Immigrant Song is one of the highlights of the entire MCU up until this point. And while it almost seems like an obvious choice, I have to give Taika Waititi credit for actually bringing it to life. I think he’s got a talent for matching up music to scenes and making it relevant to what’s on the screen (for further proof, see his movie Boy, which uses the music of Michael Jackson to great effect in there also) and you can’t get better than ‘I come from the land of the ice and snow...’. Between the music choices (they got one of the guys from Devo to compose the other music, which impressed me) and the candy-colored 80s backgrounds, this movie actually visually felt like a comic book also, which was thrilling. Well, it felt like that for me at least, especially as I’m a fan of Jack Kirby’s kind of insane multicolored panels from back in the day. Look, while I love the Cap movies more than anything else, I’ll admit that they’re kind of visually grim. And then here comes Thor with neon and rainbow bifrosts and sparkles and just...YES.
TL:DR, in conclusion, while Thor: Ragnarok isn’t a perfect movie, it is an entertaining one and a good one, and a worthy conclusion to Thor’s trilogy of movies.
#aenaria babbles on#thor: ragnarok#ragnarok spoilers#I guess this counts as a review? Maybe?#blame this on copious amounts of diet coke and chinese food...

Thor Ragnarok main-on-end title sequence (10th April 2020)
I wanted to include this example of a main-on-end title sequence as I feel that looking into some aspects of the style in Thor Ragnarok could be useful for my project.
The short story that I have chosen to base my own title sequence on is originally a Greek myth which if you search for any imagery directly referencing the story, will result in a lot of old fashioned sketches and drawings. When I initially began to think about the story and how it could be represented, my brain immediately associated it with the classic Ancient Greek aesthetic of black and terracotta imagery. Thor Ragnarok is an example of how an ancient mythological being (Thor/God of Thunder) can be represented in a much more modern and quirky way. In this film they wanted to reinvent Thor and to do this they actually used ideas from the original comic books and adapted them in order to create the films overall aesthetic.
I think that I need to look into Ancient Greek representations of Daedalus and Icarus in order to bring forward elements from this time but update them to suit a film which has been interpreted for a modern audience. Something else that I could consider is actually imagining that the film my title sequence would be designed for is set in modern times, as this could give an entirely unique and new way of looking at such an old myth.
Thor Ragnarok has a very retro vibe, with the main setting of the film being on basically a junkyard where everything is kind of mismatched and stuck together. The setting is full of bright vibrant colours and the title sequence really helps to combine the idea of a modern interpretation being combined with legends and myths that have been around for millennia.
Instead of using a moving image, in some parts of this title sequence, they have simply decided to slowly zoom into a still image and used motion on the text as the focus. I want to explore zooming into a still image as it seems quite simple but effective in this example. The transitions used for this title sequence also work really well to create a smooth animation, where different scenes seem to blend seamlessly from one to another. They have clearly really thought about how each shape from the end of one scene can be used to bring forward the following scene, so this is something to consider when creating a mood board for my project.
Early Development:
I was also able to look into some of the earlier design stages of this title sequence on Perceptions website. The earlier stages of the design gave me an idea that could be used for my own title sequence. When I saw the pink example shown below the spaceship looked to me as though it was flying through some kind of tunnel. This got me thinking about how I could combine the idea of the labyrinth with other scenes that are important to the plot of my short story. The labyrinth would be made up of a combination of different shapes, and the title sequence I create could zoom into certain sections of the labyrinth to reveal a glimpse of a scene being played out within that segment.
Scene Ideas:
Feather floating through a section of the labyrinth
Vulture on ‘branch’ which would be an extension of the labyrinth moving its head
Ant with string scuttling across the screen (Not very important to the story)
Water flowing through a ‘pipe’ which is part of the labyrinth
Nephew or Icarus falling (This could give away too much of the plot)
Process:
I also managed to find some videos which break down the process they used in order to animate this title sequence. For some sections, they used cinema 4D which gives them much more flexibility when altering what angle they want to show the scene from.

VERSES (03.04.2020 update)
MAIN:
v; this isn’t mischief; this is mayhem ;; ( main )
Loki has many past times, from scheming and plotting to playing simple tricks and frustrating those around him. Sometimes he's found on Asgard, other times on Midgard, sometimes he's off exploring other Realms all-together. No one can really be sure what the trickster gets up to but one thing is certain — wherever he goes, chaos and mayhem tends to follow.
This verse is super flexible. It spans the entirety of the MCU and beyond, making it more accessible for crossovers. Anything set in a more specific time-period in the MCU will be tagged with the appropriate movie.
v; the bliss of being young and innocent ;; ( youth )
Loki was a quiet child, at least when around others. He wasn’t particularly liked, but he wasn’t really disliked. While Thor was off being boisterous, play-fighting and making friends, Loki was engrossed in his books and lore. He was drawn to magic at an early age, and had a natural talent for it. His mother saw this and decided to tutor him in the arcane arts, teaching him how to control his magical abilities, and how he could use them to fight. Loki learnt most of his skills from her, and she was proud of what he could accomplish. However, no matter how hard he tried, his father seemed unimpressed by his magical skills, and seemed to pay more attention to Thor and his training.
AU’S
v; not a place but a people ;; ( new asgard )
After bringing about Ragnarok, those who survived were ferried away on the rescue ship. With their home destroyed, the people look to Thor to lead them – hoping now, more than ever, for a miracle. Loki takes his place alongside his brother, offering advice and assistance when necessary, as they attempt to rebuild Asgard on Earth.
v; valhalla awaits ;; ( afterlife )
Loki never expected that his path would lead him to Valhalla, after all, as Jotun, his race is unable to enter the Realm, and his actions could not always be deemed honourable. Yet, he is a son of Odin, regardless of blood, and in sacrificing his life to save the rest of the Aesir and his brother from Thanos, Loki earned his place in the golden hall. Finally, he is reunited with his mother.
v; the sun will shine on us again ;; ( infinity war divergent )
Loki survives his encounter with Thanos, joining up with the Avengers and the rest of the Heroes on Midgard to try and stop the Titan.
v; cast out in exile ;; ( banished au )
After hear-tell of the destruction that Loki had caused on Midgard, when the trickster returned to Asgard in chains the Allfather had two options – lock the Prince away in the dungeons where he could do no more harm or give him one final chance. Odin chose the latter.
Binding Loki’s powers and stripping him of his title, he banished the God back to Earth, telling him to make amends for all he had done. Perhaps, when the trickster learns to be kinder, humble and good, he will earn his powers back.
v; the frozen prince ;; ( jotunn au )
Never having been stolen away as a child, Loki was raised as a Jötunn Prince, alongside his two older brothers Helblindi and Býleistr. He was the runt of the family, smaller than the other Jötnar, but still no less formidable. He had to work twice as hard, yes, but in time he grew to become a strong warrior – a skilled fighter with both blades and wild, feral magick.
Some general info:
Although Odin still found Loki as a baby, he did not succeed in taking him. Loki’s mother was present and fought back, giving her life to save her child. Loki still disrupted Thor’s coronation ( in fact, he lead the attack ), though out of fear for Jötunheimr. He knew the thunderer was thirsty for spilling Jötunn blood, and if he became king nothing would stop him. Loki was the only Jötunn to escape Asgard after the attack. His brothers were both killed when Thor and the Warriors Three attacked Jötunheimr, leaving Loki an only child, and the sole successor to the throne of Jötunheimr. Loki is still a skilled sorcerer but his magick is far more feral, almost untamed, since he didn't have the proper guidance from a more experienced sorcerer.
v; what is a lie? A lie is a story told ;; ( agent of asgard )
This is the story of Loki. A story between drafts. In the process of being rewritten. Loki wanders the world, performing the All-Mother’s missions, earning his rewards – old crimes forgotten. Parts of the story erased. The story is in flux. Gaps form in the narrative, through which a new story may be written.
A young Loki living in a small apartment in New York, works to redeem himself for the crimes he has committed.
v; an unlikely ally ;; ( avenger loki au )
After the battle of New York, Loki’s life took an… unexpected turn. It was revealed that he had been under the influence of the Sceptre, of the Mind Stone, just as much as Selvig or Barton. That the army, the invasion, was the product of someone else’s mind, someone else’s wishes entirely, the trickster had simply been but a pawn.
As he was not in his right mind, it seemed unfair to condemn Loki for his actions, yet… the events could not be ignored. So, he was assigned to the Avengers, both to serve as atonement for his crimes, and… as a way try and keep him out of trouble.
At first, Loki was… definitely not too keen on the idea. He helped them, of course, when they needed him. But, he preferred not to socialise with them, instead keeping to himself, either in his room or sitting in the corner of the common areas with his nose in a book. The truth was, Loki felt out of place and unwanted on Midgard, especially after the destruction he had caused.
But… after a while… and a lot of coaxing, the trickster found himself enjoying spending time with the Avengers, growing accustomed to their family-like dynamic. They were an eclectic mix, but they seemed to work well together and… perhaps Loki would fit in better than he first anticipated.
v; I hereby pledge to you my undying fidelity ;; ( child of thanos )
After failing to take over the Earth with the army of Chitauri, Thanos gave Loki another chance. Pledging himself to the Titan, Loki now works for him, attempting to help find and obtain the infinity stones. He’s now a Child of Thanos.

So no one is shocked about Inhumans but despite a positive reception from critics and fans alike The defenders is not doing well compared to even Iron Fist. So as a fan of that series I have to ask "Why?" Care to share your thoughts?
As strange as this is going to sound, I think the Netflix branch of Marvel has made the mistake that the Marvel movies avoided; investing way too much in continuity. Again, I know that sounds like barking madness, but hear me out.
As we all know, the pacing of when the Marvel movies come out and what we hear about them during production can be summed up in the lyrics of that one Foghat song; slow ride. Sure, the movies themselves are action-packed and bursting at the seams with quips, one-liners, and witty banter, but the actual makers of the movies take their time not just with making them, but how to make the next one. They wait and see how audiences react before they start rolling cameras for the next flick, just in case there’s something in the newly released movie that just doesn’t quite work so they can work around it.
Look at Ant-Man, for example. It’s obvious that movie was intended to be the start of Phase Three rather than the end of Phase Two, but when Age of Ultron ended up being a fun action movie that failed to live up to the first Avengers, it wasn’t too late to rework some scenes and aspects in Ant-Man so Phase Two didn’t end on an “Oh, okay.” Or all those loose ends the Incredible Hulk left because Edward Norton had a temper tantrum and Universal tried strong-arming Disney into making another Hulk movie where the House of Mouse does all the work but gets half the pay. On one hand, yeah, it’s kind of annoying that we still don’t know for sure what happened the Abomination or that guy who was clearly intended to become the Leader, but at the same time their ultimate fate has yet to be sealed so them coming back at some point isn’t completely out of the picture.
That’s where the Netflix shows dropped the ball, and shows a pretty galling flaw with releasing the entire season all at once for the binging crowd. It’s obvious that Perlmutter et al had this big plan from the start for all these shows to be connected and build up to a greater event, and it’s also clear that they were banking on Daredevil and Iron Fist to be the main leads while Luke and Jessica were clearly intended to be along for the ride because hey, variety and all. And in theory, it makes sense. Of the four Matt and Danny have the richer and more storied backgrounds and lore, and in Matt’s case better villains. So on paper, it sounded like a good idea for Matt and Danny to lead the show with their stories and their villains being the basis for the plot.
But then something happened.
Over the years, their plan began falling apart. Luke Cage and Jessica Jones ended up being more interesting characters and connected with audiences more than the execs clearly anticipated, all the best parts of Daredevil season 2 had almost nothing to do with Daredevil because Shane from The Walking Dead completely stole the show as the Punisher, Elektra and the Hand ended up being too boring and nebulous for anyone to care, and while the Iron Fist show is better than many give it credit for Danny Rand just completely sucks. If nothing else, at least The Defenders acknowledged that.
youtube
It’s also not helped by the fact that in terms of powers and abilities, there’s just not much variety in terms of powers and abilities with the Defenders. Look at the Avengers. You got Captain America who has real-life war experience plus accelerated healing, strength, and agility, Iron Man who’s a genius and wears a high-tech suit of armor that shames an F-22 in both speed, durability, and weapons, the god of thunder, big super strong green rage monster, and finally modern day Legolas and “what if James Bond and the Real McCoy had a daughter?” to keep things varied and interesting. Now in terms of personality and motivation, the Defenders certainly aren’t interchangeable, but powers and abilities? Not so much. There’s super strong, super strong, super strong sometimes but only in one hand, and knows kung-fu with super-enhanced senses because some shit got in his eyes.
So now the Defenders was stuck with the more interesting characters being sidelined while a Daredevil that’s pretty much run its’ course and an Iron Fist nobody likes lead the show. Only unlike the movies where if Thor ended up being a complete dud and everyone hated Loki, no problem! For the Avengers they could have used someone else like the Leader, or brought back Red Skull, or just use someone completely new like Kang the Conqueror or they could have used Ronin the Accuser earlier or whatever. Point is, they could have worked around it. Netflix couldn’t, because by the time people rejected Iron Fist they were practically finished with The Defenders and it was too late to go back and change anything significant. The same thing happened to Warner Bros. when they bet it all on Batman for their extended universe to adhere to the tone, aesthetics, and sensibilities of Batman v Superman and went full-steam ahead with that plan only to find themselves right in the middle of making Justice League right as Batman v Superman was being torn asunder by critics and fans alike while also getting buried alive in news that they alienated Superman fans, but by the time they got that news it was too late to change anything and they had no choice but to scrap almost everything they had planned and rework it from the ground up. Even if we’re being generously optimistic and Justice League ends up being good, they still have to go forward with a cinematic universe where Jimmy Olsen is dead, the Joker totally sucks, Superman can’t go back to being Clark Kent because he had an obituary AND an open casket funeral, there’s no room for the Teen Titans to come into the picture because they jumped straight to Cyborg joining the League, and Batman belongs behind bars just as much as any of his villains do.
In any case, that’s my take on why The Defenders isn’t doing so hot. Granted, I wasn’t there on set so I’m just spitballing as to what actually happened, but that’s my best guess.
