And I might know of our future We can all try to change our past Only @lilbluespeedster knows If we'll be together tonight
"So I know water's super important for drinking, and life. But can anything live in the water? Where I'm from, there's way too much ash from the smoke, just drinking it is kind of painful."
Laying on his front, Silver traces the surface of the water with his gloved fingertip. Amazing, how it was so clear. He didn't realize this was what people called a beach, though he had learned that the Earth was, at least in this time period, almost completely covered with water.
Surely there was life down there!
"Why don't we explore it?"
A momentary pause, this time, an expression of confusion. Lowering his hand, the hedgehog noticed a change in how it moved. He balled his fist, then unclenched it. How peculiar.
"I wonder how far down it goes."

I thought I saw the sun once... I don't know, maybe it was just wishful thinking Do you believe me, @emeraldtied?
"So is this really the point of snow?"
Admittedly, despite not liking the cold at all, Silver could find some fun in spending time in it. So, so different than the scorching temperatures of Crisis City. That was what he was born into, that was what he was raised into, and that was what he lived until only a short time ago.
Right now, the hedgehog was making spirals out of freshly packed snow. It was pretty easy, given his psychokinesis. Just another form of art that fascinated him.
"I don't think this stuff would ever survive more than a second back home. It's so hard to believe that this stuff is really just water!" A small laugh. "I guess I've got a lot to learn. There's more to the world than I ever imagined there could be."
A short sigh through his nose, along with a frown.
"I feel kind of bad. I should be focusing on my mission." A shake of the head. "I don't even know what that really is, other than to find a way to save the world from Iblis."

I thought I saw the sun once... I don't know, maybe it was just wishful thinking Do you believe me, @bundlesofchaos?
Overcast.
Being where he was from, he didn't quite understand what caused clouds to take over to take over the sky, without rain falling down soon afterwards. Gray skies sort of put a damper on his mood, but he'd fight it. These weren't the pitch black clouds of Crisis City. The sun was shining through them.
That was reason enough to smile.
The hedgehog was quite happy to walk through the woods, until reaching an opening in the trees. A fresh lake, and... were those butterflies? Oh! Look at the flowers! Jaw slightly agape, Silver is soon grinning, as he takes to running towards the field of wildflowers.
"Oh! Hey, I didn't expect to see you here!"
Words spoken, as he'd come across the teenager in question. Technically, Silver was still a teenager himself. But he was a legal adult. Blaze was older than him, but the age she'd told him, he couldn't quite count to just yet. After the realizations of their differences, he soon frowned.
"Oh, uh. Sorry. You looked like someone I know. My mistake. But I'm happy to see someone else enjoying the pretty view."

I thought I saw the sun once... I don't know, maybe I was just imagining things Do you believe me, @rxbelling-hxrald?
"I love the rain and all, but..."
Not a common sight, a frown on Silver's face, even here in the past. It had been raining for a few days, only three. Spring was the rainy season around here. Wherever 'here' was. Silver was still coming to grips with his power to travel through time. He still didn't fully understand the extent of his power, and the massive headache it gave him left him debilitated for days at a time.
"When is the sun going to come out again?"
He turns to the other. Golden eyes reflected sadness more than anything else. Silver looks for only a moment, before turning his attention back to the sky.
"I guess I'm being selfish. The planet needs this water. It's... so clean. I wish I could bring some of it back to my time, but it'd just get just as tainted with ash as what little water we already have is."

"Don't apologize. Something terrible must have happened."
He didn't know what, but nobody had a response like that for no reason. Crisis City was a terrifying place. Iblis demons everywhere, and the human settlements, while on the outskirts, would still throw things at any nonhuman. If GUN found out about her, they'd want to experiment. No way he was letting that happen.
They both began to glow, and raise into the air.
"I'm sorry if it's too soon, but we've got to get to safety. GUN does their rounds here, and if they find us, it won't end well."
Soon, he zipped off through the air. The city was easily visible, and the further they got, the more you could hear screaming. Crying. Fear. Upon reaching one skyscraper in particular, he moves upwards, the heat lessening some as he furthered his ascent. One broken window later, which he carefully navigated through as not to allow her any harm, he released her safely on the concrete flooring.
Boots sound against the concrete, as he takes a few steps further inside.
"This is where I've lived for most of my life. GUN patrol helicopters don't come this high, so we're safe now."
It took som time for Silver's voice to register, even if it was in her head. The fear gripped her as tight as she was his hand, but by the time he's calling her name, she realize there's a voice there that isn't apart of the memory.
This sort of snaps her out of it, at least enough to finally blink, a small noise leaving her the only indication she heard him at first. After a few more blinks, she slowly turns her head to find Silver at eye-level with her. Which is momentarilly odd, because she's taller than him. That train of thought slowly leads her away from the memory and back to reality as she fully takes in the situation. When did she end up on the ground?
"S..Silver I..." She swallows, realizing her throat is quite dry. "I-I'm sorry, I...didn't mean to...um.." She drops her gaze to the ground, anything but looking at the firey pits below again. "I'm sorry..."
It had been quite some time since she's had a moment like that, and she feels ashamed that Silver had to see it so soon into meeting him. Especially since she had aleady insisted it was fine to come here in the first place.

I thought I saw the sun once... I don't know, maybe it was just wishful thinking Do you believe me, @charlotte-liddel?
Nothing short of magic.
It was a clear sky, and the sun was just beginning to peek overhead some mountains. The sky was that of pure gold. Silver couldn't get tired of this view, no matter how many times he'd seen it. Words couldn't describe, when you came from a world of desolation. From a world that didn't even have the sun.
While it was still probably up there, the sky was thick black smoke clouds. Not a ray could shine through them.
Well. Couldn't sit here forever, Maneuvering his right leg, Silver rises to a standing position, only to notice another figure walking in his direction. Maybe she'd come to enjoy the sunrise as well? Which was why the hedgehog smiled, and waved. Steps closer are taken, until he feels he's close enough to be heard.
"The morning sun gives me the energy I need to tackle the day."
That little smile turned into big one.
"There's something about the feeling of the sun shining on your face, but I don't know how to place it..."
A shake of the head.
"Anyway, I'm Silver. Were you going to watch the sunrise too?"

"My favorite is uh..."
Oh, now, what was it called?
"It's this dark brown color, and it's really sweet. My friend taught me about it, and said it was for when things are hot."

@geniusdonkey wanted a plotted starter <3
"I'm serious when I say the world came to an end."
It seemed like he wasn't being taken as seriously as he should have been. He was worried, all the time, that he didn't know just when Iblis would be released into the world. Just that he had to stop it from happening, even at the cost of his own life.
"Why won't you believe me?"

"It really surprises me sometimes that it makes people smile."
He'd been so afraid the first time someone in the past saw him do that. He'd been alone, and they walked up to him seeing his creatioin of such artistic displays. But rather than scold him, or throw rocks, they applauded. Said it was a good thing, just as Dan was saying now.
"Where I'm from, it always scared people. Everyone was sure that I'd hurt them. I've always gotten treated differently because I'm not a human."
A shake of the head.
"I love it here so much. But I cant let myself forget the people who are suffering as we speak, just because I'm in a different time period."
A demonstration had not been what he expected, but he was glad to see that Silver was treating him to one. While aware of the time traveller's abilities he never knew they were capable of creating such sights, Dan's maw was slightly open as he stared in awe.
"Wow...that's beautiful. No wonder you've been making people smile." It was almost like being able to just draw a form of art into the real world, no canvas required.
Once everything vanished, attention went back to Silver himself. "Honestly, That's amazing Silver." Stating it simply as a matter of fact. "If you chose too, I bet you'd get a lot of people's attention if you made a display of that sort often."

"I should really work on changing my mindset. I try so hard, but it seems like I never get anything out of it. Is it wrong for me to feel bad for feeling bad? Is that selfish?"
He's thinking too hard. Every small object within a mile's radius is now floating in the air.

@antakilla said: 18. A rainy street
It was cold, and wet. He'd grown to enjoy feeling water, water that wasn't used for drinking, but feeling cold? Not so much. Still, he marveled at what was falling from the sky, in a way that never happened in his present. The hedgehog shivered, just slightly, before his view was obstructed. More importantly, he didn't feel the cold rain anymore.
Which was a godsend.
"What's that?"
A simple question, as his gaze shifts down towards a face he could recognize. Thank goodness for that, too. Silver wasn't the most confident around total strangers. But he knew this person's name, and had an idea of the kinds of things they did. Best of all, they had believed him when he mentioned being from the future.
"I just love it when water falls from the sky. I think it's the most amazing thing ever. It's like the sky is giving life to the rest of the world."
Silver found himself smiling. Perhaps, even grinning just a little bit?
"I don't know how the water gets into the sky without us seeing it, but it must be something. I just wish it wasn't so cold. Cold is really hard for me, so uh... thanks for the water protection. All I can do is lift my hands over my head, but it's not nearly as big as this thing."

I thought I saw the sun once... I don't know, maybe it was just wishful thinking Do you believe me, @emxrald-cores? (for Blaze <3)
"I guess accepting who you are can be hard even for people without any special power to use."
It was something he struggled with sometimes, given how often he'd been treated badly. But there were people who treated him like friends, and those positive memories were much stronger than any of the negative memories. Accepting the person you were, the person you may have become in the future.
It was all part of growing up. The core difference was that Silver grew up in a world that had been destroyed.
"I've heard lots of people say how cool it would be to control time. But I don't think it's cool at all." Silver shakes his head. "Sorry, I'm rambling again, aren't I?"

Ecstatic was the only word that could describe his feelings.
He'd just turned lines into a word! Maybe it was only a simple word, but it was still his very first time reading. On the occasion they found an in tact book in Crisis City, it was always Blaze who read to him. They just didn't have the time for him to learn the skill, especially in a world where it wasn't that important. Too busy trying to fight Iblis back into the flames.
"I recognize some of those! Those are the ones you just talked about!"
The vowels, and of course, the letter 'R'. Oh, yes. He was totally committed to figuring this out. Wasn't it amazing how, with one lesson, he was already picking up letters? Granted, he still had a long way to go towards reading fluently.
"Ay--"
He begins. Then there was R... just like red, right?
"Ay-rrrrr--"
But there was one letter he didn't recognize. The W. He'd just have to wing it.
"Ay-rrow? Arrow? Is that what it says?"
{➹} – WATCHING SILVER WAS amusing just as much as it was enjoyable. The hedgehog did believe that any and everyone should have the right to learn what they wanted especially something as commonplace as reading. To think that he had fought learning it himself once upon a time was something worthy of a laugh when Silver was here trying his hardest to learn such a thing.
And doing pretty well if the blue hedgehog said so himself.
"Not bad for a first timer. Keep it up and you'll have the whole thing down pat before you know it."
But of course there were always exceptions to rules and oddities that made something like reading hard at some points, but practice did make perfect. Which did give the hero an idea right before he excused himself for a moment. Only to come back with a piece of paper and pen.
The latter of which he used to right two names. Silver's and his own nickname, though it was the former he pointed to with a smile in the other's direction.
"Now try reading that."

I thought I saw the sun once... I don't know, maybe it was just wishful thinking Do you believe me, @powered-by-prower?
"Gosh, the stuff in here reminds me a lot of the government back home."
Never mind the fact he'd just entered without permission. Silver was... still sort of learning the rules of etiquette when it came to life in the past. In Crisis City, you could enter any building you wanted to, not like anyone lived in any of them anymore. It was in a random building, that he found the violin he became a master at playing. It was so high up, in a tall skyscraper, that the flames hadn't consumed it.
As tempting as it was to touch buttons, Silver would refrain for now.
"These don't seem like what I saw back in the G.U.N. laboratories. I guess that's a good thing."
An ear flicked, and he turned around. A smile was soon to follow.
"Say, do you understand any of this?"
He didn't look like any Mobian the hedgehog had ever seen, but he wouldn't be judging someone by appearance.
"When I was a kid, I used to figure out color combinations that would unlock certain rooms. I'm not sure if things work the same way here."

I thought I saw the sun once... I don't know, maybe it was just wishful thinking Do you believe me, @corroded-away?
"Why do stars sometimes twinkle, and sometimes not?"
Seemed like an innocent question. He'd noticed it just the previous night, that the stars were twinkling, rather than giving off consistent light. Inquisitive as he was, he had to ask the next available person about this. He didn't even realize the sun itself was a star, he saw it as a planet of light.
Of hope.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to come out of nowhere. It's just that I can't figure it out."

I thought I saw the sun once... I don't know, maybe it was just wishful thinking Do you believe me, @greatfcx?
This hedgehog is laughing.
But in a good way! He's swirling and twirling, hands aglow as he's surrounded by butterflies, all created out of psychokinetic energy. Spring was here, he'd recently learned the name of the season. The season when all the flowers and trees came back to life. What could be better?
Boots gently pressed against the field of flowers you could find him in. When it came to being an artist, Silver was incredibly gifted, both in skill, and just general creativity. It was a part of who the hedgehog was.
Moments pass. He almost doesn't hear the sound of another's footsteps.
Curious, his hands went behind his back. He'd never seen a fox with one tail. New experiences seemed to be happening every single day. He had to be wary of strangers, yet he also wanted to believe in the good in others. How to approach the situation?
"You didn't see any of that, did you?"
