She once told me

i don’t remember it exactly word for word,

but i remember the meaning.

she said she thinks of me in her free time,

when i’m not there,

with her.

even when i’m not physically there,

she thinks of me.

and it felt so strange to me,

that i exist outside of my own experience of existence,

that i also exist in other people’s lives.

and i wish to never forget what she told me,

and i wish to never forget that i exist.

staying over in someone else’s house is such a beautiful, yet scary experience.

the way the air smells different. the way their ringbell sounds different. the way their bedsheets are different kind of soft. the way their bathroom and kitchen are different kind of clean. the way their house looks so much more lived in, and loved. the way their parents displayed their children’s artwork. the way they don’t argue. the way they can communicate. the way the children feel safe in that house. the way the children feel loved in that house. in their house. in their house.
