Mitchell was already like an excitable little dog, so add gifts, booze and cookies into the mix? Christmas was an all out celebration for him, or at least it should've been. It seemed something was in the air at the Smith residence that night because Christmas was turning out to be way more chaotic than usual. He thought, as a joke, throwing Lottie over his shoulder and tossing her into the snow might get some laughs. Maybe it would've if it weren't for the fact that they hadn't told anyone they're dating. Not only did he end up looking like a total dick, but he blew his own cover and let his family that they were together in the worst way possible. He knew the moment he saw the look on Mikki's face, as if she'd been punched in the stomach, and the way she sulked up the stairs to her room that he fucked up. Massively.

"So," Mitch finally said after an uncharacteristically quiet moment from his side of things, "on a scale of 1-10, how shitty are you feeling right now? Cause I personally feel like I'm breaking the scale. I'd rate myself around 100 territory." He was in his room, thinking that maybe a change of scenery would help with apology inspiration. So far, though, he was blanking. "I don't regret any of this happening with you, by the way, cause uh, have you seen you? But yeah. I just wish we'd told Mikayla sooner." @lottieliang
