You and Yoosung went out for some ice cream on a hot summer day

The sun’s heat was blistering and the two of you ate your ice cream within minutes but now it was time to walk home

Yoosung felt awful seeing you trudge along the sidewalk in the summer’s heat so he suggested giving you a piggyback ride

Thanking him, you hopped on Yoosung’s back and immediately knew it was a bad idea, Yoosung wasn’t the stronger to begin with but coupled with the heat, it was a disaster

The two of you were almost home when Yoosung’s legs gave out and he accidentally dropped you on the hard pavement, eyes widening when he saw the radius bone sticking out

Once the two of you got home from the hospital, Yoosung didn’t stop apologizing as he stared at your arm cast

As a way to say sorry, Yoosung became your personal butler, anything you needed he’d get you

Since you broke your dominant arm, Yoosung would hand feed you dinner, help you brush your teeth, and even move himself out of bed just so you were comfortable

With Yoosung’s help, you were able to get your cast off a week earlier then planned, making this boy reliever

Yoosung promised to be more careful around you decided to start working out so he could give you a proper piggyback ride without you falling

Zen

Zen was excited to have you visit him during one of his rehearsals to share lunch together

He loved to brag to all of his co-stars about how much of an amazing girlfriend you are so he wanted to give you a tour of the set

The director called Zen over to review the script with him so you stayed on the stage, admiring the look of determination in your boyfriend’s eyes

But you should have been paying more attention to your surroundings because one of the lights malfunctions and fell right next to you

Zen rushed to your side and looked in horror at the blood oozing out from your leg, immediately taking you to the hospital

Thankfully, you had only broken your leg and with time, it would heal making Zen one relieved man

But he felt awful that the entire situation happened so he decides to be at your side 24/7 in case you needed anything

He would prop up your leg with pillows, help guide you to the bathroom, and made you some average meals to eat

Zen firmly believed that resting would help your leg heal faster and resting meant Zen singing which you were always up for

While you didn’t heal as fast as Zen would have, once you got your cast off he was still extremely cautious

Zen made sure to always keep an eye on you and never let you step foot on the theater stage again

Jaehee

Jaehee couldn’t have been more proud of herself as her self-proclaimed perfect cup of coffee was finishing brewing

You had been dubbed Jaehee’s official coffee taster which was fine with you because it meant spending time with Jaehee plus free coffee

She hummed happily as she finished putting the whipped cream on top of the hot mocha, lifting up the piping drink to hand to you

But Jaehee didn’t notice the small amount of water on the floor and slipped

You bolted next to her, trying to make sure she didn’t fall over but the scalding hot coffee hit your arms before you could help

Jaehee ended up falling on her butt, ready to complain to you about the water until you started crying at the pain

Searing, hot pain was throughout your forearms where the coffee landed, Jaehee quickly took you to the hospital before it became any worse

You needed up with second, almost third, degree burns on both of your forearms leaving Jaehee an apologizing mess

This woman was determined to make things up to you so she would bring you your favorite snacks during the day, regularly change your bandages and give you your pain medication, and even let you pick out what movie to watch instead of Zen’s musicals

With your new caretaker’s help, your burned arms healed up quickly leaving little scarring - Jaehee vowed to never make her coffee creations that hot again and invested in a wet floor sign

Jumin

Jumin was never fond of leaving you to go to work for such long periods of time

So when he could, Jumin rushed through his work and surprise you by coming now early, and tonight was one of those times

He happily threw his jacket off and loosened his tie as he softly called for you only to find you in the kitchen

You were standing on the counter, trying to reach a particular food item as Jumin’s quick call of your name startled you so much that you fell backwards

Jumin wasn’t fast enough to catch you and watched helplessly as you tumbled to the hard floor

There were small amounts of blood coming from the back of your head so Jumin rushed you to the hospital

Once the doctor said that you had a mild concession, Jumin made sure that you didn’t lift a finger

This man would personally attend to your every need as an apology for startling you in the first place

He would make you his signature pancakes and let you have breakfast in bed, he would always gently hold your hand if you needed to go anywhere, and Jumin would let you talk to him and vice versa since you weren’t suppose to do anything that could worsen your concession

In what felt like no time, the doctor cleared you and your concession was no longer an issue, you thanked Jumin for taking such good care of you

Jumin dismissed your gratitude, saying that it was his fault in the first place, and made sure that there were step-stools in every area in the penthouse so you’d never fall again

Seven

You and Seven would always mess around whether it be you chasing him around the house because of a prank or having a tickle fight

Usually, Seven’s pranks were harmless but this time he went overboard

Seven put clear cellophane wrap over the doorway to your room, thinking that it was going to be a harmless prank

Except when you hit the cellophane wrap, you tumbled to the floor and ended up landing on the hardwood floor on your hand

The entire drive to the hospital Seven was telling you how sorry he was but you told him to shut up because you were in so much pain

Eventually, you went home with a broken wrist, large cast, and a newfound annoyance for Seven’s pranks

Since he felt so awful for the prank, Seven became your personal nurse, complete with a nurse’s uniform, as he took care of you

Seven would make sure that your cast was properly covered when you showered, he’d feed you take-out food since you refused to eat his disgusting cooking, and he even wrote down in writing that he would never pull a prank on you again

With the help of nurse Seven, your wrist healed sooner then expected and the first thing you did was use your newly healed hand to smack Seven’s hand and scold him about pranking

Seven vowed to never pull a prank on you for as long as he lived, although the same couldn’t be said for the other RFA members who now felt his pranking fury

While he was healing from the Mint Eye fiasco, Saeran still had plenty of bad days where he wasn’t himself

One day, Saeran was having a particularly bad day where he was being unintentionally violent

You tried your best to calm him down but Saeran wasn’t listening, he threw a plate at you and while you dodged it, you slipped on the rug and smacked your head off of the wall

Saeran’s eyes widened in horror as he saw blood coming out from the back of your head, all of his anger faded as new fear settled in

After going to the hospital, the doctor declared that you had a concussion, making Saeran feel awful

You knew that he truly didn’t mean to harm you but with your concussion it was difficult to explain to him

So Saeran took care of you as best as he could and while he wasn’t the best caretaker, he was still helpful

He tried talking to you instead of doing any activity that could cause stress on your brain, he made you the most delicious brownie sundaes, and he even let you lay on his lap as you napped

It did take a while for your concussion to heal but the process wasn’t too bad since you had Saeran taking care of you

By the time you were completely healed, Saeran brought you in for a hug and apologized over and over again

Saeran promised to go back to therapy and to never hurt you again although he wouldn’t mind taking care of you again to show his gratitude towards everything you do for him

DAY NINETY-ONE

9:15 AM - Up and at ‘em! We convinced my boss to let us work from home today, so I crack open my laptop and get to work.

10:00 AM - Boyfriend comes home with coffee and bagels. What a sweetheart!

1:30 PM - We pick up my ASU Grad friend and take her grocery shopping at Sprouts. We have no food at home. I buy a bunch of veggies for veggie sandwiches, some cookies, chickpeas, dark chocolate hummus, salsa, a couple frozen items, salt and vinegar almonds, and non-dairy cream cheese. Boyfriend buys a bunch of bread and other miscellaneous stuff. $60.22

1:30 PM - I also get a bottle of conditioner. $11.91

2:00 PM - We run to Chipotle. I get a burrito this time and it’s so good. I finish about two thirds of it before pitching it in the trash. I cover mine and my boyfriend’s. $14.05

10:00 AM - I clean the house a little just to feel like I did something mildly productive. I also call a friend while boyfriend runs to his office to get some files to catch up with him about my eventful weekend.

1:00 PM - I make chickpea salad and throw it in the fridge. We don’t eat it for a couple hours because it’s better cold. During this time, I take some photos of my products for my e-commerce store and load them onto my computer to edit. I end up buying an app that converts gifs to videos. I’m sure there is a free that doesn’t give you a dumb overlay, but this one is super simple to use and seems worth it. $2

3:00 PM - Lunch! -- Chickpea bruschetta and watermelon.

3:30 PM - I knock out one of the shots and my boyfriend helps me color correct it. He then offers to do the rest for me since he’s a real graphic designer.

5:00 PM - I send my boyfriend logo inspiration for my e-commerce store and spend the rest of the evening messing around on the internet and watching Forensic Files. They added 7 more collections, so I know how I’m spending my time over the next three months.

10:00 PM - I make my boyfriend watch Mars Attacks. He hates it.

8:30 AM - I had a pretty rough night’s sleep but I’m blaming it on not doing much yesterday.

9:00 AM - I arrive at work beating all of my colleagues. I pour myself a toddy and toast a piece of bread.

10:00 AM - I am trying to make a habit out of buying 3 records per month to put toward my giant 4.5 hour set I play monthly at Valley Bar, so I can get to the point where I don’t have to repeat artists and have a little variety to swing between. I buy a Suburban Lawns EP on Discogs. $27.00

11:00 AM - I’m on a roll today. I place an order for a Kleenex/Lilliput record. The seller immediately sends the invoice. $23.25

12:15 PM - I walk to Sprouts and can’t figure out what I want to eat. I have some of those BBQ pockets left over from last week, but I don’t want to eat chips as a side. I end up buying a bag of coleslaw and pour a little white vinegar into a container from the salad bar. $1

1:00 PM - I combine the coleslaw with the vinegar and add some vegenaise, a little sprinkle of sugar from my colleague’s coffee supply, and some salt and pepper while I heat up a BBQ pocket.

5:00 PM - I head home from work. On my way home I help my mom’s really old friend configure her email on her iPad with my mom over the phone.

6:00 PM - Boyfriend and I decide on veggie sandwiches and fries for dinner. I preheat the oven and get cooking.

7:00 PM - Boyfriend clears the kitchen table and we enjoy our dinner together.

7:45 PM - We end up spending the rest of the evening watching various documentaries and stand up specials.

9:00 AM - The money I’ve set aside for myself for the month has hit my PayPal account. I transfer it to #NOTSIMPLE with the hopes that it will hit the account before the weekend.

12:00 PM - I am onto day two of coleslaw and BBQ pockets. Maybe next week I’ll be ready to commit myself to salad. I read catch up on some R29 Money Diaries while I eat.

5:00 PM - I’m super hungry when I get off of work. On my way home, I stop at Sprouts to grab a scoop of salt and vinegar almonds and a loaf of bread. $5.01

6:30 PM - Chickpea salad is for dinner again. We eat and then my boyfriend takes a nap. While he is napping, I walk to Tops to have a drink and read. $6

9:00 PM - Back home. I continue reading and at some point, fall asleep watching basketball.

8:00 AM - My sister calls and wakes me up. I’m already starting my morning on the wrong foot.

9:00 AM - I arrive at work and don’t even make coffee or anything I’m tired and annoyed. I do see that my PayPal transfer has hit #NOTSIMPLE so that’s at least good. I transfer $50 into my mixer goal and $500 into my CR-V goal leaving me $1220.36 left to spend for the rest of the month.

11:00 AM - I realize the source of my annoyance is that my period is on its way. Boo hiss.

12:00 PM - I head to Phoenix to grab lunch with my boyfriend and his coworkers at Crescent. I get a bean and rice burrito and boyfriend picks up the tab.

2:00 PM - I head home, fix my typewriter, and watch What The Health on Netflix. It’s so good and really re-inspires me to continue my vegan lifestyle.

5:30 PM - I check Facebook and got tagged in a status by my boyfriend’s brother about going to a D-Backs game by my boyfriend. We all agree to go. Boyfriend buys the tickets but I’ll reimburse him at some point.

7:00 PM - We almost melt on our way to the stadium. I buy boyfriend and me waters. $12

9:45 PM - D-Backs win! We’re starving and end up ordering Jimmy Johns for dinner. $17.99

I’m stoked that it’s a jersey with sleeves. Not so stoked it’s bright orange, but whatever. I’ll definitely wear it to games. $59.46

1:30 PM - We decide we want to see a The Big Sick this afternoon, but need to eat first. We end up at a newer Mexican joint that we’ve heard good things about. I get a taco salad and boyfriend gets a burrito. We share some chips and salsa. This place is incredible and we are definitely going to come back! Boyfriend grabs the tab.

2:30 PM - I buy the movie tickets. $18

4:00 PM - The movie was so good! I cried more than once.

5:30 PM - My friend is planning a music festival in the park and asked me to book a stage. We’re apparently having a meeting about it right now at Boulders so he swings by and grabs me since I’m 400% on the way. I get a beer and we start scheming. $7

8:00 PM - I’m home. We end up fending for ourselves for dinner. I end up eating some potato chips and chickpea salad.

10:00 PM - We watch a ton of basketball and fall asleep relatively early.

9:30 AM - I wake up ready to start my day. I shower first before we hit up Cartel. Our barista gives us coffee for free today and then we head over to Einstein’s where boyfriend covers the bagels.

10:30 AM - We take a trip down south to Costco. I buy a flat of La Croix, two loaves of Dave’s Killer Bread, a gallon of coconut oil, and toilet paper. $51.63

12:00 PM - We head home and order Jimmy Johns for lunch. $17.99

3:00 PM - Boyfriend leaves for a show while I practice beatmatching.

5:30 PM - I head to Crescent Ballroom to meet a friend before heading to a birthday party. I grab a sangria. $6

9:45 PM - I’m home! I watch some 60 Days In season 3 while I wait for boyfriend to come home from the show. I fall asleep pretty fast from the wine.

A Caroline in Ireland

The next stop on my spring break vacation was Ireland. I spent about two and a half days here. I stayed in Dublin, however I took two bus tours to the west coast to see some of the most famous sites, natural and man-made in Ireland.

DAY ONE: GUINNESS STOREHOUSE

I arrived in Dublin around noon, after a quick shower and lunch, I headed to the Guinness Storehouse for my tour (Photo A). The Guinness Storehouse has seven floors, at the top there is a glass atrium where you can view the entire city of Dublin. The layout is supposed to look like a pint of Guinness. The tour takes you through all seven floors, you learn about the history of Guinness, from the way they make the beer, to the 9,000 year lease Arthur Guinness signed in 1759 (Photo B).

There’s a lot of fun interactive areas of the storehouse. You learn the perfect way to taste a pint; you can test your knowledge about alcohol; and even pour your own pint of the black stuff (Photo C). I think my favorite floor was the area talking about Guinness’ advertising and marketing throughout the years. Some of the marketing and ad techniques are so bizarre like the whistling oyster. I definitely recommend visiting the Guinness Storehouse if you’re in Dublin, if you’re over 18 you get a free pint at the end of your tour (Photo F)!

DAY TWO: CLIFFS OF MOHER

On my second day in Ireland, I took a bus tour to the west to visit the Cliffs of Moher. A friend in my fraternity back in Bowling Green, recommended the Dublin Tour Company to me. It was around 50€ but definitely worth it, especially since there was no other way for me to get there since I don’t have a car. The bus tour took all day and we stopped at numerous places along the way.

Our first stop was at Dunguaire Castle, a 16th century tower house on the southeast shore of Galway Bay, near Kinvara (Photo G). It’s really cool, being so next to the water, especially at high tide. Then we stopped at the Poulnabrone dolmen, which is a large table/portal tomb from the Neolithic period (Photo H). Ancient people would have mass burial sites, and build these portal tombs. The poulnabrone dolmen is one of the largest table tombs. When it was first discovered, it originally was 65 tonnes, which begs the question how much did it weigh when it was first built? Inside they found the remains of 33 people, adults and children. Our guide told us one of the child remains found in the portal tomb, had flowers or pollen in their hair, showing that even after death, a relative of this child wanted them to look their best in the afterlife.

Our next stop was the Kilfenora cathedral, which shows many different architectural styles. This was also the first cemetery I had been to in Ireland and the tombstones are different, and have the traditional irish cross (Photo I). The city of Kilfenora is known for these high crosses, it originally had seven, but now it has five high crosses. Our next stop was to get lunch in Doolin, at Gus O’Connor. I met two girls, Melissa (USA) and Jennah (Canada) at the table tombs and we sat together at lunch and explored the sites together. I tried the famous seafood chowder, which was really good. I also stopped to get some fudge before getting back on the bus to head to the Cliffs.

We finally made it to the Cliffs of Moher (Photos J-M). The weather all day had been windy and rainy, and even though the weather was terrible, I was extremely thankful that the visibility of the Cliffs was decent. Honestly, it was amazing there. You feel like you’ve reached the end of the world, and all that is left is the sea. We explored both the left and right sides of the Cliffs. I’m not sure if I liked one side more than the other. The left side was definitely more challenging because it was muddy and slippery. I stood alone for a minute just taking it all in, the absolute wonders of nature, and the fact that I was actually in Ireland. I enjoy these peaceful moments of solitude where I just embrace my surroundings. So, unbelievable, that this is where I am today; that i’m adding this amazing site to the many incredible ones that I have gotten the chance to see in my time abroad.

I went inside the visitor’s center and warmed up and bought some postcards before returning to the bus. On the way home we drove past the “beaches” of the Atlantic ocean, which were awesome. They aren’t like your regular beaches, they are mostly black stone, but still incredible. I had a super busy day, full of exploring it was nice to relax and nap on the bus ride home.

DAY THREE: BLARNEY CASTLE

My best friend from home, Lydia told me to visit Blarney Castle. Her parents went there during their visit of Ireland. At first I wasn’t going to just because I would have to take another bus tour, which was 45€, but I decided last minute to go, and I’m so glad I did. I think Blarney Castle was my favorite day in Ireland.

Much like the bus tour from the day before, it lasted the entire day and we stopped at multiple places. Our first stop, was an additional one that our guide took us to, Dunamase Castle (Photo N) . Dunamase Castle was built in the 9th century on a hill, at the top you can see the Slieve Bloom Mountains. I bet on a clear, sunny day the view is amazing.

Next, we went to the Rock of Cashel, according to local mythology the Rock of Cashel originated in the Devil’s Bit, a mountain 20 miles north of Cashel, but when Saint Patrick banished Satan from a cave, the Rock moved and landed in Cashel (Photo O). Cashel is also the site of the conversion of the King of Munster by Saint Patrick in the 5th century. Currently, there is a lot of construction and renovation going on at the castle, so a lot of areas are closed (which is why our guide took us to Dunamase Castle). The chapel which has a viking burial sites is one of these areas. I guess, I’ll have to come back some day once the repairs are complete!

Our last stop before Blarney Castle, was an hour and fifteen minute stop in Cork, Ireland (Photo P). Cork is the second largest city in the state and had a popular whiskey market. I wandered around the town, bought some souvenirs for my friends and family, and got a tea. I really liked this town, it was small, charming and cute. I wish I had spent an entire day here!

We then made it tour our final stop, Blarney and Blarney Castle, I was so excited (Photos Q & R). My first stop was to kiss the Blarney Stone at the top of the castle (Photo S). According to the legend, kissing the stone (upside down and backwards) gives the kisser the “gift of gab” or great eloquence or skill at flattery.  I wasn’t scared when I did it, because they do have safety rails and a little, old irish guy helped me. But, before there were safety rails and an assistant to help you ascend the castle peak, kissing the Blarney stone was risky and dangerous, participants were grasped by the ankles and dangled bodily from the height, which is around 37 feet. One of the most famous people to kiss the Blarney Stone was Sir Winston Churchill.

Blarney Castle is also surrounded by a large park and garden. I explored the Poison Garden, which was created to help people learn what poisonous plants look like to avoid their accidental consumption (Photo T). Plants in the poisonous garden include: wolfsbane, mandrake, ricin, opium and cannabis. There are also numerous caves you can explore, when I went it was quite damp in the cave and despite my small stature I still had to watch my head. One other area I explored was the Rock Close; here you can find many beautiful, natural sites from waterfalls to interesting rock formations (Photos U & V). If you can manoeuvre on the Wishing Steps, where you must walk up and down the steps with your eyes close, only thinking about your very important wish in life, maybe the witches will be kind and give it to you!

I’m so glad I decided to go to Blarney Castle, it was a perfect day and way to end my trip. The weather cleared up, so when we made it to Cork and Castle, it was enjoyable. I really like walking around nature and gardens, anything that was stressing me out or on my mind becomes obsolete and I just enjoy the greenery around me. Ireland was amazing, and I know I will come back in the future. I hope to come back with some of my Irish friends because I know they would enjoy experiencing their heritage.

JOUR UN: LE GUINNESS STOREHOUSE

Je suis arrivée à Dublin vers midi, après j’ai pris un douche et mangé le déjeuner, je suis allée à le Guinness Storehouse pour une visite (Photo A). Le Guinness Storehouse a sept étages, au sommet il y à un atrium du verre où vous pouvez voir tout la ville de Dublin. Le plan du bâtiment est comme une pinte de Guinness. La visite vous emmène à travers les sept étages, vous en apprendre davantage sur l'histoire de Guinness, de la façon dont ils font la bière, à la location de 9 000 ans Arthur Guinness signé en 1759 (Photo B).

Il y a beaucoup de zones qui sont interactif. Vous apprenez la façon parfait de goûter une pinte; vous pouvez examen votre connaissance d’alcool; aussi, vous pouvez verser votre propre pinte de la chose noir (Photo C). Je pense que l'étage j’ai préféré était le zone qui concerne les avertissements et marketing de Guinness, le passé et le présent (Photos D & E)! Certaines des techniques marketing et publicitaires sont si bizarres que l'huître sifflante. JOUR DEUX: LES FALAISE DE MOHER

Dans mon deuxième jour en Irlande, j’ai pris un voyage organisé par bus à les Falaise de Moher. Un ami de mon fraternité à Bowling Green, elle m’a recommandé le Dublin Tour Company. Le prix est 50€ mais vaut vraiment le coup, surtout qu'il n'y avait pas d'autre moyen pour moi d'y aller car je n'ai pas de voiture. La visite en bus a pris toute la journée et nous nous sommes arrêtés à de nombreux endroits le long du chemin.

Notre premier arrêt était le Château Dunguaire, une maison de tour du 16ème siècle sur la rive sud-est de la baie de Galway, près de Kinvara (Photo G). C'est vraiment cool, étant si près de l'eau, surtout à marée haute. Puis nous avons arrêté à la Poulnabrone dolmen, qui est une grande tombe table/portail de la période néolithique (Photo H). Les personnes anciennes auraient des sites funéraires de masse, et de construire ces tombeaux portail. Le dolmen poulnabrone est l'une des plus grandes tombeaux de table. Quand il a été découvert, il était à l'origine de 65 tonnes, ce qui implique la question combien pesait-il quand il a été construit pour la première fois? À l'intérieur, ils ont trouvé les restes de 33 personnes, adultes et enfants. Notre guide nous a raconté l'un des restes d'enfants trouvés dans le tombeau porte, avait des fleurs ou du pollen dans leurs cheveux, montrant que même après la mort, un parent de cet enfant voulait leur donner leur meilleur dans l'au-delà.

Notre prochain arrêt était la Cathedral Kilfenora, qui a plusieurs de genres d’architecture. Aussi, c'était le premier cimetière que j’ai visité en Irlande, et les pierres tombales sont très différents parce qu’ils ont la croix de traditionnels irlandais (Photo I). La ville de Kilfenora est plus connu pour ces croix, à l’origine elle a sept croix, mais maintenant elle a cinq croix haut. Puis nous avons arrêté à Doolin pour un déjeuner à Gus O’Connor. J’ai rencontré deux filles, Melissa (Etats-Unis) et Jennah (Canadienne) à la Poulnabrone dolmen et nous avons mangé nos déjeuner ensemble et exploré les sites ensemble, aussi. J’ai mangé le plus célèbre soupe épaisse des fruits de mer, qui était très bon. Aussi, j’ai acheté du caramel mou, avant notre bus a quitté Doolin pour les Falaises.

Finalement nous sommes arrivées aux Falaises de Moher (Photos J-M). Le temps était très mauvais, très venteux et pluvieux, mais j'étais très reconnaissant que la visibilité des Falaise était correct. Honnêtement, c'était extraordinaire la-bas. C’est comme vous avez atteint à la fin du monde, et tous qui reste est la mer. Nous avons exploré les deux côtes de Falaises. Je ne sais pas si j’ai préféré un côté plus que l’autre. La gauche était plus difficile parce que c'était boueux et glissant à cause de la pluie. Je suis restée seule pour un moment, tout en prenant tout en, les merveilles absolues de la nature, et le fait que j'étais réellement en Irlande. J'apprécie ces moments paisibles de solitude où j'embrasse juste mon environnement. Donc, incroyable, que c'est là où je suis aujourd'hui; Que j'ajoute ce site étonnant aux nombreux incroyables que j'ai eu la chance de voir dans mon temps à l'étranger.

Je suis entrée l'office de tourisme et j'ai réchauffé et acheté des cartes postales avant de retourner au bus. Sur le chemin du retour, nous avons passé les "plages" de l'océan Atlantique, qui étaient géniaux. Ils ne sont pas comme vos plages régulières, ils sont principalement en pierre noire, mais toujours incroyable. J'ai passé une super journée chargée, plein d'explorer c'était agréable de se détendre et faire une sieste sur le trajet en bus à la maison.

JOUR TROIS: CHÂTEAU DE BLARNEY

Mon meilleur ami d’Ohio, Lydia m’a dit visiter le Château de Blarney. Ses parents y sont allées, quand ils ont visité Irlande. Au début, je n'allais pas juste parce que je devais prendre un autre tour en bus, qui était de 45 €, mais j'ai décidé dernière minute pour aller, et je suis si heureux que j'ai fait. Je pense que le château de Blarney a été ma journée préférée en Irlande.

Comme le voyage organisé par le bus le jour d’avant, il a duré un jour et il y a plusieurs arrêts pour autres sites touristiques. Le premier arrêt, était un arrêt plus, que notre guide a choisi, le Château Dunamase (Photo N). Le Château a construit pendant le 9eme siècle dans une colline, au sommet vous pouvez voir les Montagnes Slieve Bloom. Je parie sur une journée claire et ensoleillée la vue est incroyable.

Puis, nous sommes allées au le Rocher de Cashel, qui selon la mythologie locale, le Rocher de Cashel est né dans le Morceau du Diable, une montagne à 20 milles au nord de Cashel, mais quand Saint Patrick a chassé Satan d'une caverne, le Rocher a déménagé et a atterri à Cashel (Photo O). Cashel est également le site de la conversion du Roi de Munster par Saint Patrick au 5ème siècle. Au ce moment il y a beaucoup de la construction et la rénovation donc plusieurs de zones sont fermés (c’est la raison pourquoi nous avons visité le Château Dunamase aussi). La Chapelle qui a un lieu de sépulture de viking, est un zone fermé. Je suppose, je vais devoir revenir un jour une fois que les réparations sont terminées!

Notre dernier arrêt avant le Château Blarney était un arrêt de une heure et quinze à Cork, Irlande (Photo P). Cork est le deuxième grande ville en Irlande et elle a une grande marche pour le whiskey. J’ai vagabonde autour de la ville, j’ai acheté des  souvenirs pour mes amis et ma famille, et j’ai obtenu du thé. J'ai vraiment aimé cette ville, elle était petite, charmante et mignonne. J'aurais aimé avoir passé une journée entière ici!

Puis, nous sommes arrivées à notre arrêt ultime, Blarney et le Château Blarney, j'étais très enthousiaste (Photos Q & R). Premier, je suis allée d’embrasser la Pierre de Blarney, au sommet du château (Photo S). Concorde avec la légende, d’embrasser la pierre (à l’envers et en arrière),  vous recevez le “cadeau de papotage” ou grande éloquence ou habileté à la flatterie. Je n’avais pas peur quand j’ai embrassé la pierre, parce qu’il y a des rails de sécurité et un peu, vieux homme irlandais m’a aide. Mais, avant qu’il y ait des rails de sécurité et un assistant pour vous aider à monter au sommet du château, embrasser la Pierre de Blarney était risqué et dangereux. Les participants ont été saisis par les chevilles et balancé corporellement de la hauteur, qui est d'environ 37 pieds. Un des personnages les plus célèbres à embrasser la Pierre Blarney était Sir Winston Churchill.

Le Château Blarney est encercler par les jardins et un grand parc. J’ai exploré le Jardin Poison, qui a été créé pour aider les gens à apprendre ce que les plantes toxiques ressemblent pour éviter leur consommation accidentelle (Photo T). Les plantes dans le jardin toxique incluent: wolfsbane, mandrake, ricin, opium and cannabis. Aussi, il y a beaucoup de cavernes, vous pouvez explorer, quand j’ai visité un caverne, il était très humide, et bien que je sois très petite, je devais encore regarder ma tête dans le caverne. Un autre zone, que j’ai exploré était le Rock Close; ici vous pouvez trouver plusieurs de sites naturel et beaux, commes les chutes d’eau et les formations rocheuses, intéressant (Photos U & V). Si vous pouvez manœuvrer sur les Étapes de Désir, où vous devez marcher en haut et en bas les étapes avec vos yeux proches, en pensant seulement à votre souhait très important dans la vie, peut-être les sorcières seront gentils et vous le donneront!

Je suis très heureuse que j’ai décidé d'aller au Château Blarney, c'était un jour parfait et une façon parfait pour le fin de mon temps en Irlande. Le temps s'est éclairci, alors quand nous sommes arrivés à Cork et Castle, c'était agréable. Aussi, j’aime promener autour de la nature et jardins, tout ce qui était stressant moi ou sur mon esprit devient obsolète et je profiter de la verdure autour de moi. L'Irlande était incroyable, et je sais que je reviendrai à l'avenir. J'espère revenir avec certains de mes amis irlandais parce que je sais qu'ils apprécieront éprouver leur héritage.

But she’s in middle school and getting her to focus on school work is hard enough without people distracting her.” He glanced over at the older teen. “Also, I dont have an extra bed. That means you’re getting the floor.”

“Grif?” Kai asked, leaning in the door. She wasn’t exactly sure what happened, but once she heard her brother was in hospital, Kai hauled ass. What did she do? More like what did he do? It was Simmons- she thinks- that told her that Grif was in hospital, but she doesn’t remember. Kai sat down and stared, confused and emotional. “What the fuck, Grif?”

Grif had a rather sour look on his face, and had one leg propped up in a cast. “I didn’t do anything. Some dickhole thought it was going to be funny to loosen the front tire of my bike before we started riding them.” But that didn’t seem to be the only reason he was here. They didn’t hook that many machines up to someone with only a broken leg. Also, he’d already been here a night. Didn’t they normally send people home once the cast was on?

She tried to put her hands on her hip, bumping her elbows an casually moving them back, her point failed. “Okay, but did you like, make him?” Kai tried. “Did you fuck with his shit first?” She leaned back, taking it in. “Can I draw on your cast when we get home? Cause, you’re all patched up, and there is nothing you can do to stop me.” She paused. “Wait, when are you coming home? I don’t see a release date…”

“No I didnt make him! I guess he thought it was a joke or something. Or maybe he was trying to get brownie points with Sarge…” Grif shrugged, and then bit his lip. “Well… I might not be getting out of here for a while, Sis. Turns out that my kidneys suck major cock, so… Gonna have to wait for a transplant…” In a way, it had been kind of a happy accident. Having to go to the hospital caught the problem before it started to actually get really bad. But that also put him at a low priority on the transplant list.

She frowned. “Awww, Grif! Why don’t you look after yourself? I mean… you look after me…” That deepened the frown. Since their mother fucked off, he had taken good care of her, and it was kinda upsetting that he hadn’t done the same for himself. “How many do you need?”

“Like, one working one.” He shrugged, “I guess they’ll see if you’re a match since we’re siblings, but it’ll suck since then you’ll only have one, and shit.” He leaned over to pull her into a hug, “Dont worry, ok Sis? It’ll be fine.”

“Like fuck I’m letting Sarge in my house.” Grif shook his head, mimicking her distaste. “Whats wrong with Simmons? Sure, he’ll make you healthy food, and try and make you do your homework… Actually, Simmons wouldnt be a bad idea.”

“No, no. He’s really dorky. No.” She pouted. No way was she letting Simmons in the house without Grif. He’d rearrange everything. Alphabetically. “Oh hell no. If Anyone, Make it Tucker, or Donut!”

He gave her a long look, “No. If I let Donut stay with you, I’d come home to a redecorated house by Martha Stuart or some shit. And if I let Tucker stay… Its best if you two arent even in the same room alone.”

“-But Simmons is your friend, and he’s not even the hottest.” She pouted. Okay, maybe Donut would take house sitting a little too seriously. And Tucker… Well, she wasn’t that smart, be she knew what her brother was getting at. Fucking like rabbits. It wasn’t even surprising. “Well, What about Church? He’s not really that good-looking, and he’s boring as shit? Or Caboose..?”

“Ok, maybe Church or Doc,” Grif conceded. Having Caboose over would be like the blind leading the blind. “Church is kind of a prick, and probably wont do that much, but I think he’ll manage to keep you out of too much trouble, and make sure the bills get paid on time.” He tucked a bit of hair that had gotten in Kaikaina’s face behind her ear and smiled. “Hopefully it wont take too long before I’m back home.”

“No way! Not Doc.” She retorts. “I don’t him doing all that pilates shit, or eat organic stuff. Gross.” She sighed. “fine. Church or Simmons.” A moment later, she gave a small smile. “You better get better soon, you know.”

Grif nodded, “Of course I will. And I’ll see if Simmons can stay with you soon. It might take a little convincing to get Church to do anything.” Now that that was settled, he leaned back in his hospital bed and relaxed. “So, how was school?”

“It sucks dicks.” She replied. “You won’t believe this, but they kicked me off the cheerleading squad again.”

“Really?” He heaved a huge sigh, “What happened this time?” How many times did this make? He couldnt remember.

“It’s the third, or the fourth. I can remember, but they were really bitchy.” The was an aggravated sigh. “Oh well, I guess I’ll just join the nerd club or something.”

He gave her a long look, “I’m sure there’s other clubs you can join. I don’t think the nerd club is ready for your type of awesome.” Or ready for a girl to be in their midst at all, really.

“No.. But I’ll be bored sitting at home.” She replied. “I mean I could invite people over, but Simmons will have an aneurism or something.”

“Simmons has an aneurysm every four minutes anyways.” Grif shrugged. “No wild parties. Dont do anything that would get you in a hospital bed, or the clinic.” She knew what he meant.

“Really? Maybe he should be in hospital too!” Kai gave a sigh. Crossing her fingers. “Fine. No parties. And no… Other stuff… Not like Simmons will let me anyway.” The last part grumbled.

That made him laugh, “I don’t think Simmons gets the whole talking to girls thing. He’d probably faint if you were just walking around in a bikini.” Besides, he was pretty sure that Simmons wasnt as straight as he made it seem (no he was not just hoping for his own sake).

“No shit. But It’ll be funny, so I’ll record it and take it in to show you. Maybe it’ll help your fucked up kidneys. Or made you giggle… And you totally know which one I’m talking about..”

He grinned and nodded, “Just make sure you dont kill the poor asshole. He may be a nerd, but… he’s not the worst guy in the world.” Grif felt bad for Simmons, almost. But what were friends for if not to take care of promiscuous younger siblings?

Kai wouldn’t be that bad. Not enough to kill him, obviously, because she didn’t want to go to prison. BUt that wasn’t the point, he seemed okay, but he was kinda a stickler for rules. And Kai, if not anything else, was one for breaking them. “Sure. No murder. Totally got it.”

“Good.” he nodded, and pulled her close for a hug again. That should take care of just about everything, he thought. “Sooo…” Grif started, “Anything, or anyone new in your life?” He may be taking care of her, but he was also her nosy older brother.

She raised a brow. “You wanna talk about boys?” That was new..

“Why not? Its not like I have anything better to be doing.” He was purposefully ignoring the stack of binders Simmons had left him that contained school work that he was going to miss.

“Awesome.” She replies, grabbing a marker and taking it to the cast. “Well, you know about Tucker. I mean that guy isn’t the worst I’ve had -  You remember that last one right?” Kai spoke loudly, working with the pen.

“You mean the one I told you was bad news, but you said he had a cute ass so it didnt matter?” He couldnt see what she was drawing from here. At least he could trust her to not draw too many dicks.

“Yeah, him! He was kinda cute. I suppose Tucker is better. Well, he seems kinda desperate, but it’s cool. He’s nice really.” She nods, writing ‘Kai was here.’ In block caps.

“As much as it pains me to say it, Tucker is the better option of the two of them,” and that really was difficult to say. At least he was sort of friends with Tucker.

“Yeah. I think that guy does hard drugs now.” She smiled, finishing up a drawing of a smiley-faced dick with a hat.

“Yeah… I think now would be the time that I say stay the fuck away from that.” Grif nodded, craning to see what she was drawing. “Awesome. That looks absolutely awesome.”

“Thanks! I called it Simmons… Cause his name is Dick, right?” She grinned. “But yeah. Not cool. Not hot.”

Grif snorted, and leaned forward to give her a high five. “Nice one! And nice choice. You usually dont get over someone like that this fast. Could it by my baby sister is finally growing up?”

She slapped his hand and grinned. “Ain’t I just?… And I’m not a baby. You’re like…. Only some years older than me. But Yeah. And that means I don’t have to be baby sat, right?” Truth be told she wouldn’t mind an extra person wandering around the house whilst Grif was gone.

“I’m still gonna ask someone to stay with you, just because I know otherwise the bills wont get paid, and then you’re going to complain that you dont have any lights. Or food because the fridge would be broken.”

“Yes and no. Donut may not be as big a neat freak, but I bet you anything he’ll want to redecorate, and paint and shit. Be a lot more work in the long run.”

“As long as its him working, why would you care….” She paused. Donut seemed to favour ‘lightish-red.’ “Okay, fair point.”

“Yeah…” he nodded, “I know it wouldnt make much difference to you, but I do not want to come home to a pink house.”

Grif gave the stack of binders on his bedside table a sour look. They seemed to be multiplying already. “I dont get out of classwork either, you know. Some dickhead thought that he was helping by getting the work I’ll miss.”

“…Is it the same dick that’s on your leg…” Kai asked, he would get it. “I don’t wanna. Maybe I can talk Simmons into doing it all too.”

“Kaiii,” he whined, “You cant do that when that’s what I was gonna try to do! I’m the sick one here! And yes, its the dick on my leg.”

“Well, we can both do it. He can practice with mine, then do yours afterwards. See, easy? How else was I gonna pass Algebra?”

“I don’t think Simmons is going to think like that. I think he’s going to think this is the perfect opportunity to tutor you.” He smiled, “I think its kind of a good idea.”

“Urgh… Don’t go all ‘Mother bird’ on me, Bro. Not cool.” Kai shook her head. “When do I get tested?”

Grif just laughed, “I’m still your big brother, no matter how cool I am.” Then he grew a little more serious. “I’ll make an appointment for you this weekend so you dont miss anything for school. Or anything else important.”

She rolled her eyes. “You’re such a dork, you know that?” OKay, so maybe it was probably better that she stay in school. Simmons would be too, and if she stayed home, there probably won’t be anyone there, unless she convinced Tucker to bunk off. “Okay, fine..”

Grif smiled and gave his sister’s hand a squeeze, “Thanks for being willing to go through that for me Kai. Even if we’re not a match, it means a lot to me. I love you.”

“Yeah, yeah. You big dork. Ditto.” Kai gave a smile, and nudged her brother with her shoulder. “I mean you would do it for me.. Though mine are probably healthier…”

“Probably.” He agreed. “I dont want this to be you in the hospital bed for the same reason a few years down the road, ok? Dont do whatever it was that turns kidneys to shit.”

She frowned. “…What does turn kidney’s to shit? I have no fucking idea… But yeah. I’m not going to bust my body, so it’s all cool.”

“You know… I actually dont know what does that… They said it was genetic, but I dont know if that means that we both have shitting stuff, or what.”

“Nah.. I’ll be fine, Bro. Don’t worry about it, yeah?” Then she sighed. “Trust our mother to fuck us over one last time, I don’t care how cool the circus is, that’s fucking mean.”

Grif bit his lip, and shook his head, “… She had to go follow her dreams man. Where else is she going to be able to show off those wonderful talents of hers?”

“Yeah, I know.” She agreed reluctantly. “I mean who else can be fa,t and bearded, and a woman all at the same time? I don’t think I can..”

“I wouldnt want you to try, either.” Grif laughed. “It seems like it’d be fucking difficult, doesnt it?”

“Yeah, you heard me nerd, Prom. That big dance thing that’s going to be happening in a couple months.” He could not believe the words coming out of his mouth. He was barely going to make rent this month, how the fuck was he going to be able to afford prom tickets, a nice suit, and dinner?

Still... It didnt feel right to not go to prom at least once in his high school career. That was a Right of Passage, and there was only one person he wanted to go with.
