Sliiiiight nitpick, but I feel like Namco always has Mari Shimazaki make her most basic designs when it comes to Tekken 😅
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's made Bayonetta, of course, and she's even made some killer designs for Leixia's 1P and also Ivy's and Tira's SoulCalibur V 2P designs but her work for Tekken?
Josie is literally just the Filipino flag and an ugly haircut.
Tumblr media
Kazumi is just a woman in a kimono, worn in the way dead people wear it in funerals and an old-time-y haircut, but don't forget the bows! Because no woman in Tekken should look older than 16!
Tumblr media
And now Reina, she is admittedly her best Tekken design so far, I like the hoody, but the hair is kind of a mess and it's otherwise just too... Plain.
Tumblr media
Like, I don't know, I guess she doesn't have to go all out all the time but I was genuinely, unpleasantly surprised when I heard she was responsible for Josie's look and while it's nowhere near as basic with Reina, it's too pre-Tekken 4 plain for me.

I still thinks its funny how some Street Fighter fans were complaining about Heihachi blocking/surviving the Akuma’s Raging Demon move in Tekken 7, citing how nobody can survive it and Heihachi doing so was obviously bullshit and takes away from the dread and power of the move.
As if Street Fighter 4 didn’t already completely kill any “legitimacy” the move had when by then everyone who canonically had the move used on them survived bar one. Gouken, Gen, Bison and Gill all survived this supposed unbeatable technique. So far Goutetsu is the only character confirmed dead from that move.
Unless Capcom pull another Alpha or mid-quel and have him return to the story too.

Reblogging due to the many fighting games that use Unreal nowadays.
~R
(Seriously, unfollow me if you're okay with this BS)
...Really, Epic?
Apparently, when using Unreal Engine, the words you use in the CODE have to be more inclusive now.
Tumblr media
This is pathetic.
(Unfollow me if you're okay with this)

heihachi is super different compared to 7, but i get whyy. cuz he literally buried you under plus frames and small suffocating pressure, which is kinda anti tekken 8. cuz if he did the same thing he used to he would just be chipping away at your health while totally removing your opportunities to fight back, which in this game is not v fair. so they made him a fucking big move pitbull bully

the thing is that, like, in ye olden days of fighting games, balance patches and updates were essentially done through new releases. you would have to pay full price for the next edition of street fighter ii, or guilty gear xx, because online dlc hadn't taken hold of the industry yet. this persisted even into the 7th gen, even as online patches and dlc entered the mix. while it was a hassle, and expensive, the key detail is that you can still play those old versions. you can still play sf3 new generation or second impact, they're still there even as third strike won out.
but if street fighter 3 was released today, new generation and second impact would probably get patched out of existence, as multiplayer games today tend to be live and constantly updating. previous versions of street fighter v, guilty gear strive, or tekken 7 are now inaccessible. you cannot play a version of strive that doesn't have deflect shield and wild assault. and yeah i'd say the game is broadly *better* for having these mechanics, but the history of the game before is now lost to time and memory, or maybe to a github branch. i do not envy the developers in this situation

Seeing a new face in Tokyo isn't really anything new, especially given how many people there are in Tokyo, Shibuya especially.
Had the other guy not approached him, he wouldn't have taken much notice of him, especially as at first glance, he didn't seem to look too out of place - although his inquiry pretty quickly makes it clear that he's new to the area - whether just Shibuya or Japan as a whole, he's not sure yet. Still, stranger or not, he was always happy to meet a fellow fishing enthusiast!
"Well, familiar or not, you sure came to the right place! There's a fantastic tackle shop that's only a few minutes walk away! I can take if you want," He's quick to offer, partially wanting to help and partially feeling energized to check out the shop, himself. "I'm guessing fishing a big hobby of yours, then?"
Tumblr media
He's not sure where he ended up this time, like it was a common occurrence somehow despite Noctis's apparent annoyance, but at least there was a fishing pier.
However, there isn't any gear for him to use. Noctis doesn't want to ask anyone for help but he really wants to start his favorite pastime. So he asks the closet person to him. The guy reminded him a little of Prompto so he's sure that the other would be somewhat friendly.
"Sorry to ask but how do you get fishing gear around here? I'm not familiar with this area". Well, more like not this world but Noctis doesn't need to alarm this person like that.
@electricea liked for a starter. ( requested Noctis )

BGM - Heat Haze Shadow - Tekken 7 Soundtrack
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlvLtWJvsWE
This was one of the things the young man named Joeru lived for. To be able to test his capabilities in a serious tournament. Getting on top of the stone stage, he felt the excitement in the air.
He felt confident, even if he couldn't use Aura, his pure martial arts skills had been honed through the years. In fact, the restriction made him worry more about Shuji than himself, since that guy was more of a mage.
Tumblr media
"No matter," he just needed to look forward, and in front of him was a pretty tall and muscular woman. Yes, not someone he would take lightly, even if it was the first round.
Tumblr media
"Let's GO!" he throws his jacket to the side.

There's a special place in hell reserved for those who skip character intros and win quotes.
Especially if they weren't theirs to skip in the first place!

When Kazuya decides to be the New Leader of Illuminati Secret Society by beating Both Urien and Gill since his Dad pretty much Destroyed G Corp, I think...
(i’m still watching a video about the roster for “tekken x street fighter” and  i really like the idea of kazuya and urien being rivals but that's just my opinion...)

i don't want to make a huge deal about this but i just got a call from my mechanic, the cost of repairs to get my car in condition to pass a state inspection (and not be a massive danger to myself and my loved ones) is gonna $1400. once i get paid later this week i'll technically be able to afford it but im gonna be dead fucking broke afterwards. if u have the means to help a tranny stay fed and housed and safe i'd massively appreciate it🫶. if u want something in return i can s*ll n*des or offer coaching sessions for ramlethal in guilty gear strive or asuka in tekken 7

Did I ever talk about my love for Tekken? There was this post about games you played for more than 300 hours, and after GTA VC and LCS... it would definitely be Tekken 5 and 6 for me.
Anyway, my Tekken brainrot laid dormant deep inside of me for most of my teenage years and early adulthood. To be honest I entirely skipped Tekken 7 due to its performance on my PC at the time and its reliance on DLCs. I did manage to beat Tekken 4 in 2023 (the only one I've been missing until 7, but I quickly went back to not thinking about the franchise at all. That was the case until Tekken 8 demo dropped.
I downloaded it and played for a bit, not understanding what's going on story-wise at all, but instantly falling in love with its fluid 4k60 gameplay and new Nina design (she was always my main after all). It made me hungry for more Tekken and when I was talking about it with my s/o, I just had to check whether Tekken 7 finally received a 60fps patch on Xbox Series X. It didn't, but I ended up buying it anyway to satisfy my hunger for the franchise.
Played it a bit, finished the story and overall I had fun with it. I wasn't really satisfied with the story mode, but the gameplay was pleasant enough. I liked some of the new characters and overall it felt like a fulfilling return to the brainrot. That's what I thought before finding out that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is backwards compatible on Series X.
I ordered a physical copy and instantly got hyped. I wanted to play it since its release but it costed so much at the time... and after some time I forgot about it, probably due to GTA V coming out. Flash forward a few days, I received my copy and ran back to my house to play as much as I can before my night shift starts.
You gotta understand - it was and still is the ultimate Tekken game for me, mostly due to how many characters it has. I played every mainline Tekken game (and Tag Tournament) before playing TTT2 and to play as Jun, Michelle, Violet, Ogre and Kunimitsu in one game meant a lot to me - I really appreciate OG Tekken characters, even though Tekken 3 and 5 are my favorite entries. If I was to talk here about how much grind in Tekken 5/6 I endured to make certain characters look like the OGs, this post would end up being insufferably long.
Many story-based games take up all my time and attention but I'm still playing it and I'm really close to getting all the endings. I set most levels to have my favorite tracks form older Tekken games and I'm especially enjoying my time with Jun, Kunimitsu and Michelle.
Now that fighting games are one of the most anti-consumer genres in modern gaming, a few years will pass before I'll get Tekken 8. I'd have to spend $100+ on ultimate edition, only to wait years for all of its content to arrive anyway. And since a month after its release they started introducing shops and battle passes, my enthusiasm got tempered even more.
But I'm so happy to be back and Tekken 7 and Tag Tournament 2 (and the older ones) will do it for now! Especially TTT2, it's really a blast!

who's ur fav Tekken character. and who do you want to kill with hammers
fav tekken character gameplay wise: heihachi. i like EWGFs and demon kicks and his raijin stance stuff, but i never liked or wanted to learn kazuyas demon stuff and heihachi has a goofier air to him than kazuya or demon jin. i also really like his powerbomb grab animation and his goofy GYAAAH HAHAH dash/dodge movement option. because of that ill probably try learning reina and kuma first in T8, though i am also v interested in leo, alisa, and lucky chloe/lidia if either ever comes back. i would say lidia and lucky chloe are my favorite but theyre both only in 7 and heihachis in almost every tekken game, so if i were to pick any game besides 7, id be at least trying heihachi first. also his moveset in Playstation ASB is interesting
fav tekken character otherwise: this is obvious if uve followed me for a while (i like cute girls that smile and wear/are pink) but in order from absolute most favoritest onwards: lidia, lucky chloe, alisa, reina, xiaoyu, asuka, jun, lili, hwaorang (i honestly like his goofy Final Fantasy 14 ass in Tekken 7), geese. chances are if im ever playing tekken 7 ill play one of these characters at least once to fuck around with. i also fuck around w the goofier characters like jack and pre-8 kuma with @cromerholt (though i usually play panda when they play kuma cause i like to be different).
who do you want to kill with hammers: Capitalists. Biden.
