There's a special place in hell reserved for those who skip character intros and win quotes.
Especially if they weren't theirs to skip in the first place!

Shin Akuma.
The only time I've personally beaten him is in Capcom vs. SNK 2, and even that took multiple tries.

you see, having my autism be dead set on providing me with zero marketable skills is actually a blessing in disguise, because imagine if i had moments of "that street fighter shirt that guy is wearing is using the portraits drawn for controversial remaster and rebalance Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix but is posing as just being a normal Super Street Fighter II Turbo shirt" but for like. textile design or electrical engineering.

Yomi 2 Fighting Card Game: Introducing Bal-Bas-Beta, the Clockwork Guardian
Tumblr media
Yomi 2 fighting card game gets a new character and language support on Linux and Steam Deck with Mac and Windows PC. Thanks to the creative team at Sirlin Games. Available via Steam Early Access with 88% Very Positive reviews. Yomi 2 is here, and it's the sequel to the awesome fighting card game by David Sirlin. The brains behind Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Fantasy Strike. This time, we have a new character, Bal-Bas-Beta, the Clockwork Guardian. While adding language support for French, Chinese, and Russian, with Japanese, Spanish, and German coming soon. You can grab it in Early Access for Linux and Steam Deck. In Yomi 2, you get to choose from 14 unique fighters, with two more in the expansion and even more coming later. Each fighter has their own playstyle and moves, so there's a lot to learn and master. You'll draw cards representing different fighting techniques and start planning your strategy before the match even begins. You can interrupt slow attacks with quick jabs, knock your opponent down to set up combos, and break their defenses with smart card plays leading to epic, high-damage finishers. Yomi 2 fighting is all about reading your opponent and figuring out their habits. Each character has unique mechanics inspired by classic fighting titles, like combos, frame data, attack priority, and special cancels. Whether you pick someone because they wield a paintbrush or just because they look cool, there's a lot of depth to explore. You’ll need to be smart about closing the gap to stop fireball spammers, watch out for grappler’s command grabs, and use your strengths to win.

You can also enhance your special moves with one of six gems (eight if you have the Renegades expansion) to turn the tide in your favor. Master your character in single-player Career mode, where you’ll face off against hundreds of colorful personalities in the city. Practice your combos in the training lab and test new tactics against the CPU in one-off battles. For competitive players, Yomi 2 has a brand-new setting that captures the excitement of real-time fighting titles. You can join matchmaking for ranked or casual play, or go local with pass-and-play. Asynchronous multiplayer is also on the way, letting you play multiple matches at once while waiting for your next turn. Yomi 2 fighting through Early Access isn't just about finishing the digital title. It's also about developing and balancing a future physical tabletop card game with the same rules and mechanics. David Sirlin, President and Founder of Sirlin , says feedback is super important. They want to get Yomi 2 into the hands of passionate players now to shape its future. You can’t patch a physical card title after it’s released, so community feedback will help balance the digital title and make the physical version perfect. You can get Yomi 2 now, fighting in Early Access on Steam for Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, and Windows PC. Priced at $24.99 USD / £20.99 / 24,50€ on Steam Early Access. Dive in, have fun, and help shape the future of this exciting title.

On the 25th of November, sixteen years ago, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix was released in North America for the PLAYSTATION 3.
Tumblr media
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is a high-definition remake of Super Street Fighter II Turbo. It features hand-drawn 2D sprites and backgrounds, rebalanced gameplay mechanics, and remixed music tracks. The game retains the fast-paced combat and competitive depth of the original while providing enhanced visuals and online multiplayer support. It offers two modes: the classic version, staying faithful to the original mechanics, and a rebalanced mode, which tweaks character strengths and weaknesses for a modern audience.

Crudely comparing input lag on my set-up in various versions of Super Street Fighter II Turbo:
PS3 - HD Remix - 5 frames of delay PC - Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection - 4 frames PC - Capcom Arcade Stadium - ~4.25 frames PC - MAME 0.119 (30th Anniv ROM) - 7 frames PS2 - Capcom Classics Collection Vol.2 - 6 frames PS1 - Street Fighter Collection - 3 frames
Tests: https://youtu.be/vr-g2rONCRg
So it would be the PS1 version for me! Except it looks like I can get ONE frame of delay w/ the DC version in Flycast. So...goodbye $$ = oo
