[Heads up!: some angst, hurt/comfort]

You've done well to hide your past. Made every effort possible to erase it, even going so much as to relocate to an entirely different sea. There's no way anyone from then will find you now ㅡ or so you think. You hope.

"[Name]." Law's voice makes you turn, finding him watching you with an unreadable look on his face. "Come here." You blink. Have you done something wrong? Trotting back towards him, Law waits for you to stop before he gestures. "Mind explaining this?"

You follow his finger, taking in the paper stuck to the wall with the abrupt drop of your stomach, a cold chill sliding down your spine. The paper is old, older than the ones plastered nearby, but still intact enough to see who it is, as well as the bounty attached.

It's you.

"I thought you said you didn't have a bounty before joining us." Law's tone is carefully neutral, and he watches you carefully. You reach for the poster, tearing it free and staring at the yellowed paper. "I don't appreciate being lied to."

You should have known that things would come back to bite you, that you'd never truly be able to move past that chapter of your life. "...I wasn't a pirate. That part is true." Your fingers tremble, paper crinkling as you continue to stare at anything but Law, aware of his own gaze on you. "...almost all of my family are marines. It was never really a question of if I would follow their footsteps, but when."

Your tone is soft, but given that you're both standing in broad daylight where nosier people can spy on you, Law is quick to grab your arm and yank you between two buildings. He'd drag you back to the Polar Tang, but he isn't about to let you come back with him until he's certain he can trust you.

"So you were a marine." You flinch, and Law still finds it in himself to feel a little guilty.

"I was. For two years. I couldn't take it anymore. The corruption, the double-standards, the cruelty...so I left." You hold up the paper. "This is because I technically defected. They thought if they put a bounty on me, someone would turn me in."

"They," Law repeats. "Your family?" You nod. "Are they still looking for you?"

"I doubt it," you answer. "They probably think I'm dead. But if you're worried that I'll turn you guys in to save my own skin, I would never." You look away, staring at the ground. "I understand if this is where we part ways, though. I lied to you."

It's true, you did ㅡ and Law loathes being kept in the dark about important matters, and your connection to marine forces is one of them. But he can't just let you go that easily. You've endeared yourself to the crew, and they'll ask questions if you don't come back with him.

"I'll let it slide this time," he tells you, watches as you look up at him with wide eyes. "But let me make myself clear. If you do anything to put my crew in danger, I'll make sure you won't live long enough to regret it."

You stare back at him. "I would never," you tell him, and you mean it. You'd escaped to make yourself a new life, with hopes for a better family than the one you'd had ㅡ and now that you've found it, you won't let go without a fight.

John stood up, wobbling on his feet as Gale steadied him. Turning to look at him, John noticed Gale was in his regular pants and sleep shirt, smelling like soap and fading aftershave, blond hair tousled like he had just rolled out of bed. His face was stubbled, eyes soft and tired. John swallowed, feeling his heart clench at the sight.

“Came in your civvies, huh?” he slurred, resting a heavy hand across Gale’s shoulders. Gale hummed and braced his waist.

“You look nice. Sleepy. I like it.” Gale gave him a funny look, an unreadable expression passing over his face for a moment before he turned to the bartender, his voice warm yet apologetic. “Sorry for the trouble.”

John didn’t hear what the bartender said next. Didn’t even pay attention to whether Gale paid the tab or not before they managed to leave the bar. Everything around him was blurry and his whole world seemed to be narrowed to Gale. John’s gaze was solely focused on his eyes, his nose, the little freckles under his eyes and over his cheekbones, his plump lips.

Gale had beautiful lips. They looked pink, soft with a subtle sheen, kissable. Sometimes when his mind wandered, he would imagine what they would taste like, how they would feel pressed against his own. John loved Gale’s lips. He wanted to tell him that.

“You have nice lips. Anyone ever tell you that?”

You heard the sound of the door open and close, signaling the return of your boyfriend of three years. Jaejoong had been very busy with his new variety show and you could see the shift in his personality. He’s quite the workaholic, but he always loved his busy schedules. Though you missed him when he was busy, he would make the effort to text you throughout the day, just to check in. But lately, due to the time apart, it had become a bit harder to make time for each other. You both had work and you didn’t live together which made it hard to see each other as often as you would’ve liked. 

Tonight was the first night in weeks that he’d be staying over at your place, which both of you were happy about and had been looking forward to. You had planned a whole night of fun. Well, at least what the two of you thought qualified as fun. You had gone to the grocery store earlier that day, and had gotten a bunch of different ingredients to cook. Jaejoong loved to cook, especially for you. So you had prepared everything for him, so he didn’t have to do any kitchen prep. You knew that he’d appreciate it. You also had a bunch of TV shows to catch up on, but that wasn’t as important. Just as you had finished setting everything up, you heard the door open and close behind you. You turned around, greeted by the sight of your boyfriend calling your name. 

“Y/n? Are you here”, Jaejoong called out, removing his shoes and jacket in the process. 

“I’m in the kitchen!”, you said as you quickly grabbed the lighter and lit the candle that was placed in the middle of the table. You had the lights dimmed, trying to create a certain type of ‘ambience’. You could hear his light footsteps as he walked down the hallway towards the dining area of your apartment. When he finally made it to the entryway, he let out a laugh as he looked around, “Wow”, he said. 

I guess you had impressed him, you thought to yourself. 

“What’s all this? I thought we were just going to continue the show we were watching?”, he said, looking around the kitchen, noticing the prepped ingredients and dimmed lights. He moved to stand behind you and enveloped you in a hug. What you always missed the most when you didn’t see Jaejoong for long periods of time were his hugs. You loved how safe he made you feel. Maybe it was his tall height, or how strong he was. But you never felt unsafe with him, his old stage name was very fitting at times. 

“I don’t think you’ll ever understand how much I’ve missed you”, you said as you turned around so your face was pressed against his chest. 

He let out a deep sigh,”I’m sorry I got so busy, I couldn’t stop thinking about you”, he said before taking your face in his hands and giving you a loving kiss. “Thank you for waiting for me”, he whispered.

The aforementioned model gladly accepted the bottle but his eyes remain fixed on the phone within his grasp "I'm texting [N/N]-chan, making sure she won't do anything stupid that may possibly injure her, that idiot girl can be super reckless. Ugh, I just can't seem to take her out of head, especially if I know she's hanging out with another Unit that I am not well familiar of." He whispered the last part.

But this wasn't unheard to Arashi, then a frown loomed his confront. He clicked his tongue "tch, why are you even asking? mind your own business."

Tsukasa merely nodded his head in agreement after listening the entire exchange between his seniors. "I agree with Narukami-senpai, I may not be a specialist in the love department, but is it not customary for a partner to make their significant other feel special?" he inquired.

The red-haired male hummed, contemplating "Besides, it is one's knights responsibility to treat their beloved like a princess." Tsukasa established a strong, straight-faced statement, prompting Arashi softly chuckle at the junior's innocence, whereas Izumi was not having neither of them.

Izumi, who is egotistical, will never ever tolerate being lectured from someone who is younger than him.

"Ha-?! I am certainly not smitten over [N/N]-chan!" Izumi snaps back at Arashi, obstinately denying the obvious "And I do not need a lecture from a person who doesn't even have the experience having a troublesome lover to constantly have to take care of..!!" He added, confronting Tsukasa.

"Secchan is being in denial~" Ritsu chimed in, stretching's out his limbs and dragging out a sleepy yawn as he groggily opened his eyelids, "We all know you adooooreee [Name]-chan so much~ it's fairly evident you see, I say you are a huge simp."

Ritsu slyly smirked, aggravating the third year male even more

Grabbing the attention of everyone, including the eccentric leader "I'll prove that I am not simp, I prove it by denying all [N/N]'s pleads and request for the whole day. Just watch me, humph." Izumi puffed out his chest with internal pride swelling inside.

"Oh, are we initiating a bet? Then I'm in, the loser shall follow every orders of the winner." Ritsu quipped, a devious grin creeping onto his lips.

The enthusiasm in Leo's eyes shone as he proclaimed, "A wager? I'm also in..!! I want to participate, I would really like to join. Whehe I bet Sena would inevitably lose; be prepared to forfeit Sena since the King would win this thing! Whahahaha!"

The previously mentioned Sena simply scoffed with confidence at the declaration "Like hell I would be loosing." Tsukasa anxiously gulped

"I-I don't think this is a great Idea, it's quite a bit childish. Onee-sama won't be happy if she finds out about this..- E-eh?! O-Onee-sama, when did you get here?!" Tsukasa shrieked, genuinely flabbergasted by your sudden entrance.

You laughed "You seem to be surprise about by presence Tsukasa-kun, am I not welcome here?" You pouted, feigning hurt. Tsukasa hurriedly shook his head as a result.

"Of course not! You are more than welcome to come here whenever you please. I'm simply startled by your unexpected arrival. Speaking of which, if it's not too much to ask, when did you get here Onee-sama?"

He only needed to give Izumi a little prod here and there to be able to win the wager; afterwards, the silver head knight would be completely under his power.

You enthusiastically nodded, Izumi's eyes fleetingly softened, his irises helding with pure adoration as he gaze at you nothing but fondess glinting on his matched blue eyes, a sweet smile briefly appeared on his lips before it quickly vanished.

Pressing a delicate kiss against his cheek, you smiled giggly "Thanks again izzun-chan~ bye-bye! I love you to the moon and back~" You exclaimed brightly, Izumi affectionately rolled his eyes

"Yeah, Yeah whatever, don't do anything stupid and make sure you return my stuff without a single scratch." Once you've finally left, Izumi huffs, the smile returning to his lips as he stared at the door where you had left.

The minute he turned around to face his fellow members of the unit, who were shooting him a knowing stare, his smile dissipated.

Izumi narrowed his eyes and subconsciously threatened his unit mates to speak up, however they didn't particularly express any apprehension, seemingly unfazed by his intimidation. After all, it is Izumi Sena, therefore why would they be scared?

Leo poked his tongue out and formed the Loser hand-sign while exclaiming, "Whahaha, Sena lost!!" Sena is such a loser, and a massive S-I-M-P.

Ritsu yawned, smirking playfully at the blushing Izumi Sena laid before them, "And thus it shows you lost the bet, which means you shall obey our commands throughout the day without hearing any grumbling from you, and ultimately this consistently shows, you are indeed a full-fledged simp." He all together clarified.

Arashi rested her cheeks on her palm, smiling amusingly "Fufu, you two are really such a cute couple."

i’m gonna build on the housing situation with kazuxiaoreader rq

i feel like reader rooms with old friends and it’s a long walk away from the school and even further from their boyfriends. before moving in together, they’d all meet up at school and just go to xiao’s place nearby to hangout

when it gets late, the boyfriends would always walk reader home, so they aren’t all alone. reader felt bad because of how far the walk is back to their place and back to their respective places, so they started planning

having asked xiao ofc, they started bringing an overnight bag so the trio can spend the night together because goodbye’s really hurt. kazuha’s like right down the street and he insists on just walking back and forth (because convenient locations are convenient)

xiao, living alone, has a twin bed (because he didn’t expect anyone over anytime soon). so, the first time kazuha and reader spend the night, they all just look at each other and then back at the bed

thanks to reader, they did attempt to all fit in the bed at least once. all squished together, reader starts sliding off. being dramatic, they pulled xiao along with them who brought kazuha down with him as well

kazuha just settles to sleep on the floor (with blankets and pillows ofc) and the rest agree because they can make as big a bed as they want/need

In this specific au, you lived back in the campus' dorms where four students live in a block. Each block is made up of a common room and four bedrooms. Definitely fancier than some dorms, but still with the separate shared bathrooms per floor.

Speaking of roomies, it was pretty surprising to find out that your gregarious, green-eyed, ukulele-playing roommate was actually friends with Xiao. Quite the unlikely pair, though they met because of a shared music class. Who knew that the moody stick-in-the-mud Venti always prattled on about was him??

But the first time your boyfriends came to your dorm (you'd forgotten something before heading to Xiao's apartment), Venti just about lost it. Dragging you into his room with hands on his hips and demanding an explanation-

Xiao lives closer to downtown like Kazuha, really only a few blocks away. So every few days the three of you make the journey from campus after your last class of the day and walk to Xiao's apartment. Each time, they refuse to relent.

But when Xiao and Kazuha walk together back to their apartments (Xiao's adamant that he walks Kazuha to his despite it being a little further down the road), they can't help but think about how nice it'd be if you didn't have to walk back every time.

The idea doesn't come at first, not until Xiao's drying off his hair and sees one of your sweaters left draped on the couch. Not to mention you'd bought a mug last month and forgot it at his apartment only to just leave it there so you can use it when you come over.

He leans against the arm of the couch, head tilting as he stares at your sweater.

That week, Xiao brings it up in passing conversation, fidgeting his fingers.

The little nest that you guys made stays in the bedroom's corner, though, to Kazuha's delight.

So cuddled up in bed, the three of you doze off to awake refreshed and ready in the morning (save for Xiao who's still a bit tired in the mornings).

By now, the three of you are settled comfortably.

You can't imagine living without either of them and them with you. It's sweet, really, how the feelings have bloomed into something that you truly believe will last the years. So when Xiao jokes about how you've both basically moved in already, you're quick to suggest it.

"Why don't we?"

Within three days, you're busy moving stuff from your dorm and Kazuha's studio to what now is your apartment.

The change is welcome, leaving Xiao's chest warm. Really, though he did have a well-furnished home, seeing a mix of yours and Kazuha's belongings scattered here and there--your bag set beside the door, one of Kazuha's books on the coffee table...He can't help but smile.

Even though you both need to wait out the end of your leases, it feels as if you're fully moved in.

What really settles it, though, is when you're all out with a few friends one night. A celebration that you've since forgotten what it was for.

And the realization dawns that, yes, home now has become that apartment on the third floor, just down the hall from the lovely grandma, in the relatively old building downtown. And when the day comes to an end, it's where you, Kazuha, and Xiao are able to return to with tired limbs and sleepy smiles.
