Hello! Sorry I've been dead with art, but I wanted to show off some characteristics that I've made with a friend of mine that I drew. (The family story with Avery, Larry and Thomas hasn't been forgotten about btw, I've just got another story going on that's been inspired by The Magnus Archives/The Magnus protocol that I'm making with an irl friend)

So, on the left, you see Phoenix! He's fully made by my friend as he's their older oc, who was then thrown into the story universe, lol. He's 18 ish and a big brother figure to some of the kids and teens, like Dez and Lonney, who are also shown in the picture. He's technically an adult, but all the actual adults who live in the house they live in count him as a teenager and for damn good reasons. He's got some anger issues he's working on through art and has leather gloves to keep him from setting stuff on fire as he's one of the avatars of The Desolation in the story.

The middle little dude is Dez! They're 16 and the avatar of the Spiral. It's not shown in the drawing, but they have unnaturally long, sharp fingers due to their connection to The Spiral. They struggle to do many everyday things with them, but they're slowly learning every day. They're very happy in their found family and have given everyone nicknames. (Phoenix's is Sparky and Lonney's is Foggy)

Lonney, the last person in the picture, is also 16. They're the avatar of The Lonely, aka supernatural depression is kinda kicking their ass. They've been friends with Dez for years and are pretty happy now having a nice found family (even if they have a resting disappointed face). They start emitting fog whenever they start disassociating or they get otherwise upset.

(All in all, their found family consists of 16 people, including these three goobers, soooo yeah, there may be art of the others if i get the energy to learn to draw more lol)

Truly it hadn't been intentional to avoid telling Alison, in all due honesty most of them had dismissed it out of hand until they couldn't ignore it any longer. Wrong as it had turned out to be, it was hard to ignore even the possibility of facing down eternity when there were so many regrets laying heavy on his shoulders. Secrets and half-truths he offered to protect himself. Really he should thank Robin, given the walls he'd been able to drop since revealing all, the very same ones he was ready to tear down with Alison. All thanks to one miscalculation. He nodded, a little solemnly, feeling a touch of guilt for not having told her in the first place.

Every reassurance she offered was much appreciated, he could see she was doing everything she could to be open to whatever he might say but it was hard for him to shake the tension in his body. There'd be no taking this back once it had been spoken, that was the scariest part of it all. He'd not be able to just pretend it never happened. At least the trial run with the other ghosts had been a success, that offered some hope. -- ❝Right. I know that, of course. You're nothing short of kind and understanding- which is why it seems so ridiculous now that I've been putting this off.❞ Swallowing thickly, the swagger stick was taken up in both hands against, settled on his lap as he shifted his gaze down to the table between them. It was easier telling the story without looking into the eyes of those around him, that way he'd not deal with worrying about every microexpression as he spoke, waiting for something negative. -- ❝I didn't earn these medals, I took them shortly before I died. There was an event here, you see, for decorated officers that saw battle and there was- someone I had to see. Lieutenant Havers, I hadn't seen him since he left my command to fight… So I formulated quite the daring plan. With utmost stealth and my knowledge of Button House's layout, I made my way inside using-❞ A pause, minute but still present as he realised he was rambling, going into tactics as though that would be of any interest - or at all accurate. He certainly wasn't about to tell her he practically fell through the window on this daring mission now, was he? -- ❝It doesn't matter actually, all that matters is that I stole the medals to blend in. I don't deserve them- Stolen valor, I believe they call it, but I assure you Alison- I wasn't there to try and earn myself accolades or congratulations. The only reason I did what I did was to speak to Havers.❞ Of course that was not the end of the story, he wasn't finished but he looked up to see where he stood on that front. While his sexuality was something he held close to his chest, it wasn't something he was shameful of, not like the shame he carried for the medals that remained pinned upside-down on his chest.

what a ridiculous outing it had been, too. there was no duplicating a good time, it simply happened or didn't. as the realisation struck that she spent the eve trying to recapture old magic, rather than spending an apparently significant day at home... well, the very thought alone was disheartening. "yeah, okay, that's fair enough. if it's important, though, like really important, you gotta fill me in. doesn't matter if i have plans or not." the ghosts could easily spoil plans, they’ve done so before, with their incessant demands and often thunderous personalities, but it was merely part of having a family. she's actually surprised pat or kitty didn't fill her in; maybe a chat with everyone would be necessary. when it involved life and death (so to speak) their needs were going to be prioritised over some stupid attempt at spontaneity.

"we've all done stuff we aren't proud of, captain." she offered gently, nodding her head to get the simple, yet vital point across. she knew he held these emotions desperately close to his chest, and didn't allow departure without proper rhyme or reason. gained trust was evidently a difficult source to find in his own period, it required time and patience, and she understood. alison purposely used his full ranking, opposed to nick-naming to indicate a degree of respect, anything to assure he felt a little more at ease in himself, the conversation he's allowing her into. "it's part of life." she tried her best to navigate between avoiding undermining him and his seeded memories ready to sprout, but also wanted to familiarise him with the normality of it.

he practically redefined the idea of a 'closed book.' treading on unfamiliar territory— the awareness that she’s about to gain perspective of what went on in his mind, his core, his past, is a tad overwhelming. his circumstances, his intimacy over the five years with herself and what she's seen with the others, clearly indicated a whirlwind of sentiment going on. inner turmoil, one might say. she always wanted a recount of events, but now that it was coming, she couldn’t help but hold some worry. "you make mistakes and move on, y'know? at the end of the day, the people who love you don't care."

while she couldn't pretend to even assume the experiences that occurred in his lifetime, eight decades certainly was a long time to exist in hushed tones and shielded affections. she truly hoped he began acknowledging the importance of freedom, how opening up was something to value, not shy away from. alison shifted her tone, leaning forward in her seat, discarding the drink to set complete attention upon him. making sure he appreciated the severity of her words. "listen to me, captain. whatever you say isn't gonna change anything. not one thing." she placed her hand on her heart, keeping that softness on her features, ensuring she wasn't cornering him. "i promise."

the raven cycle is a series of four books by maggie stiefvater: the raven boys, the dream thieves, blue lily lily blue, and the raven king. there is a follow-up trilogy called the dreamer trilogy made up of three books: call down the hawk, mister impossible, and greywaren.

(my 'cdth' tag is my tag for the sequel series, which i like even more than trc.)

it's a YA modern fantasy series set in a small town in rural virginia. the series focuses on a gang of five teenagers (a sixth joining in book 3/4) who are all dealing with various magic bullshit in their lives. one is looking for a dead welsh king along a ley line in the mountains of virginia, because legend says that the king can be woken and grant a wish.

the problem is that this boy, gansey, is going to die.

we know this because the one girl in the group (sorry women. there are more women in cdth i SWEAR), blue, saw his ghost on st mark's eve. which means he will die within the next year. why did she see his ghost?? because he's either her true love, or she killed him.

or, you know. both. if you're a girl who's cursed to kill your true love with a kiss. as she is.

blue does not want to kill anyone. blue also does not want gansey to be her true love. they get off on the wrong foot entirely and she decides he's the devil for a little while. blue is overall having a bad time with the world and her place in it and the fact that she's the only non-psychic person in a family of psychics, And Also She Doesn't Want To Kill Anyone.

so the question is -- for all four books -- what..... would make her kill gansey. how is gansey going to die.

gansey's three other closest friends are boys in varying states of emotional turmoil.

ronan, who is where my URL comes from, is a suicidal bipolar maniac alcoholic who spends all of his time trying to kill himself. and is also magic as fuck. and hiding it. and going out street racing with a guy who wants to eat him. and they're kind of fucking about it. they technically never fuck except like. they're kind of fucking about it

adam is a trailer trash kid paying his own way into the elite boarding school that gansey & ronan attend. his dad is physically abusive to the point of adam's life being in constant danger, but adam refuses to accept gansey's offers of help or safety, because he's determined that nobody else ever Own him.

noah is a quiet kid with a violent past that gansey cares about very deeply, getting into all of his backstory involves major book one spoilers but it is. Rough.

the plot points in the series are complicated to explain because there's a lot of mythology and strange worldbuilding and psychic bullshit and magic all going on and playing off each other. but the series is about these five kids being in a giant pseudo-polyamorous relationship and loving each other and hating each other and wanting each other and killing each other.

it has some of my favorite relationship arcs of all time in any media, ever, and also it like. taught me how to write. LOL. so if you're here from the owl house (??) or from a different fandom and you like how i talk about characters and how i write character conflicts and character arcs and character relationships....... U Get All Of That Shit In The Raven Cycle.

Pretty early after the two have met again, Muro still very uncertain about himself and Elena unable to contain her affection for him. ft proud father uncle caretaker Muro wanting Elena & Rametta to meet

It had been a long afternoon, late lunch at one of Muros favourite cafés, run by an old acquaintance- of both of them in fact- who respected Muros wish for discretion and privacy, turned lengthy discussions of Elenas life, with him occasionally contributing what little of his life remained unrelated to what Elena left to escape.

Rametta and Cecio mainly, his pride in his they grew up, in how they have defied the misguided lessons they were taught.

"I think you two would get on,"

Elena hummed in curiosity, fingers intertwined with his on the table, thumb gently rubbing the back of his own, her sharp eyes having figured out what few areas of skin on his hands still had sensation, and smirking in delight every time he noticed again, cheeks ever so subtly darkening, but his eyes darting away much more obvious in how she affects him.

"There's a lot you could discuss, i think it would be good for her to talk to someone-"

"Talk woman to woman?" The arch of Elenas eyebrow indicated he should chose his words carefully.

"You both had to fight to be women, fight to be feminine in the way you wanted to be, it's different, but I think it would be nice for her to know she's not the only one taking on that fight- God knows my experiences can't help in that regard,"

An affirmative hum is his answer, one hes more than happy with-

"You really care about her, don't you?"

He can feel his forehead creasing, "Of course I do, shes a great kid-"

Elenas laugh is filled with joy and fondness, the sharp edges on everything she used to do now worn away.

"You haven't fucking changed, have you? Not in any way that matters, you still have that big heart and all that love you barely know what to do with,"

Before Muro can insist on all the ways he has changed, for the worse, insist on all the ways he's so far from who he used to be, Elenas brown eyes are suddenly right in font of him, suddenly closing, dark lashes fanned against her cheeks-

His own eyes stay open as their lips touch, heart racing in panic, he needs her to know what a mistake she's making-

He takes a few seconds of shock but finally manages to pull back.

“I’m sorry, are you sure you-”

Elena leans in again to peck him on the lips, thumb still rubbing circles on his own. Her eyes are filled with sorrow, but quickly replaced with determination.

"I didn't realise you were still so affected by me,"

"This isn't something to laugh at, 'Lena, you left for a reason,"

The corners of her eyes crinkled, overwhelming fondness clear on her face, but how could it be for him?

"I came back for one to, my lovely idiota, and I'm wise enough to know how to navigate here without falling into those old traps, what, you think I haven't found dangerous things to do besides you?"

His cheeks burn at that last turn of phrase, greeted with a smirk, 'Lena knowing exactly what words she picked.

"I don't mind taking it slow Muro, you know this place and it's pitfalls better than me, but I'm tired of giving up the people I love to stay safe, what's a little trip to this side of town every now and again going to do to me really?"

Midnight phone calls from scared women he occasionally interacted with, repeating demands from his enemies at gunpoint filled his ears, Cecios tearstained face as he revealed that the scholarship was a trap from Passione, Conficcare with a black eye because someone knew enough that Muro cared about him, but not enough that he was dangerous too, and so many other images flooded his minds eye.

"More than you could know, the stakes have changed,"

"I trust you to keep me safe Muro, and I can hold my own, I even have my own enemies I'll need to protect you from,"

He finally pulls his hand away, untangling it from hers, eyes staring anywhere but at her.

"Slow, very slow- places that keep quiet, places without ears and records-"

Lips quicky brush against his forehead, dragging his eyes back to her-

"Sounds perfect,"

He slumps against the table, a large sigh turning to chuckles.

"You haven't- god I love you-"

He scrambles back into hight alert, wishing he could claw back those words-

"Love you to, idiota, I love you too,"

Maybe it will work out, certainly if Elena gets any say in the matter.

He can't hide the fondness in his voice, not sure why he ever tried, "I missed you,"
