Uuhhhh.wav Re-Factored has been discontinued

Been meaning to make this post since like… July, and then kept forgetting to, but here’s more info:

Reason for cancellation has been because all the devs have been really busy with IRL things. One’s in university, one’s nearing the end of college, etc etc.

Not to mention the lead dev, Torrent, has actually released a demo of a new game called Detriment! It has just hit it’s 7th anniversary upon starting development just a week or two ago! I’ve helped contribute to it as an artist and playtester and highly recommend giving the game a try if you haven’t yet!

Important notice: The cancellation may not be permanent! Torrent says he has hopes in coming back to Re-Factored some time in the future, though not guaranteed based on how things have been for him.

Outside of that however, I may end up giving comic writing a go someday. For compensation of everyone’s patience waiting for this game, I hope to make a comic series of my fan interpretation of Uuhhh.wav! Unsure of when I’ll do this though, given I am really busy with IRL things myself

We all apologise for this inconvenience. We know how much Uuhhh.wav meant for many people, and to ourselves too, but we hope you understand. Do stick around though for any updates, whether on the comics or the potential recontinuation of the game development!

HELLO! Welcome to the official Uuhhh.wav Re-Factored blog!

Re-Factored is a currently ongoing recreation of Oof Legacy's game, Uuhhh.wav. It is lead by TechnicalHost who is also the main scripter of the project. Following him are two artists, Elisa and myself, and our builder, Coffee! As majority of us are still high school/college students, we are very busy and so our work is rather slow, but we are still keeping up! Tech and I began working together on November 21 2022, with Elisa and Coffee joining us later on.

Our remake will not be 1:1 exact to the original game. We hope to work similarly to RitzyRaven's vision of Uuhhh.wav before she dropped out of Oof Legacy. We hope to achieve her idea of 10 worlds, along with certain aspects of the game she hoped to include. We will also be including our own ideas, such as new story plot, new characters, and new moveset abilities.

To be frank, I made this blog on impulse and forgot to even ask Tech about it before doing so, but this blog is basically like an announcement/update sort of thing for Re-Factored! I will also be open to answering questions and such, however, I will keep things confidential to avoid spoilers and secret surprises. If Tech lets me, I may even share some old concept art every now and then!

Please note, EVERYTHING here is subject to change! Nothing here is wholly finalized!

What we've got so far (6 October 2023)

Major rundown of stuff we have shown to the public so far. A reminder that everything that is shared is subject to change.

SPRITE ART! I (CCTV) am the main sprite artist, for both dialogue and head sprites! (yes, we took Obby's lego hands away, he doesn't need them (they were too hard to draw))

2. New characters! I can only show one however!

This here is Seav! Designed by Tech! As a notice however, this is NOT her up-to-date design, but her current design is not shown to the public yet! (p.s: I LOVE SEAV!!!)

3. Cool new setting! Though Coffee is our current builder, Tech set up a small example of what we hope for the worlds to look like, giving it a more iconic style, along with a softer color palette for a pretty aesthetic!

4. Devlogs. Unfortunately Tumblr is stinky and will not let me send them through so I MAY ask Tech if I (or he) can slap the videos onto Youtube so I can link them here. Regardless, devlogs show stuff such as new move-sets, new assets etc. Good news is, I CAN share some assets in pictures!

Though this is all I can share so far, I promise we do have much more in store! I will try to make update posts whenever something new is shared. If you'd like to get updates/announcements quicker, join our discord server! Though we are slow and busy, we're still active to chat! Also the devlogs are available there in the game announcements channel!
