Apparently everyone except for me read this book in grade school. Same with To Kill A Mockingbird - I read it for the first time 3 years ago, which surprised everyone at my neighbourhood cafe. In fact, thinking back to school, there were only three books assigned to us that I genuinely enjoyed - The Chrysalids, The Hatchet, and Lord Of The Rings (the first one). I came back to each of them as an adult. Of course, I read lots of great books when I was a kid, even for school. But they were books I chose.
