Y'all, I finally started reading Gideon the Ninth, and I finally realized I can plop my thoughts here.
There's a character, cavalier of the seventh house, who is immediately kinda shitty to Gideon. The first thing he does is protest.
I picture Muir, upon introducing this character, going,"This guy is just doing nothing but protesting and being lousy. Protestilaus."
But that leads to another question.
When Protestilaus is with his family, are they Protestilice?
#Gideon the Ninth#puns#picking on people's names#which is also shitty behavior because most people use names they didn't choose#and even when it would be funny#usually results in jokes they've heard a million times before#and any humor is flattened beneath the feet of repetition#<facetious>#but this time it's okay because it's fiction#</facetious>
