Dino blinks once before that silly, lopsided grin pulls the corner of his mouth up. 

“Mama huh?” he moves himself closer, getting close enough to you to gently pet fingers under your chin and tilt your head just so. “And in what way do ya want me to come to you, hmn?”

He throws you a cheeky wink before leaning just enough to gently kiss your cheek. “I think I got a show comin’ your way Doll, just be patient a bit longer with me, cause ya know.. I wanna do it right.”

Update: Hiya Dolls! Happy New year!

I hope the end of last year and the start of this one has been kind to you so far!

I’m still here, just still busy, but there’s a bit of light on the horizon! 

Not so family friendly Anon - I haven’t forgotten about you! I swear. <3 If you’re still here, I hope to have your reply done next week. ♥

Ah, for me? A very generous offer. You need to show to sell after all. Show me what you got. I'm always open for willing participants. The fun is for two after all ;)

Dino’s brows lift just slightly before that charming smile lights up his face once more. “Well, you’re right about that Doll, it takes two to tango.” 

With a soft chuckle he gets up from the bed, grasping your hand gently to bring it up to his lips, letting them brush gently against your knuckles. 

“Have a seat then, babydoll, and let me do the work, yeah?”

He gives you a wink as you turn around and sit at the edge of his bed, and he’s unable to stop himself as he gently pets his fingers along your jaw before his hand falls away and he slowly removes his blazer tossing it into the chair nearby, followed too by the vest you already unbuttoned. He reaches up and undoes  the first button on his shirt near his collarbone, then the next, and when he gets near his abdomen, he gives you a smirk as he starts to slowly pull the fabric free of his jeans, giving you a glimpse at his skin under his shirt, and the slight muscle definement there. “If I didn’t know any better,” he then reaches for you, taking your hand to work it between the opening of his shirt, letting your hand rest flat against his abdomen. “I’d be thinkin’ ya wanted me to do a full on strip show...” and he gives you another cheeky wink.

It wasn’t an offer, or a request, but Dino looked absolutely miserly and Caleb couldn’t help himself, couldn’t help the trickle of humor in his voice, the thought of climbing the mountain for him again..

What would it be like, in the dark? Could he do it, pull off that feat again, alone or with a team?

Could he be spared that long, was the real question. Longwythe was pretty far out from Meldacio, and any team would be thrilled for a Glaive healer, sure, but he’d have to sell it to the organizers, or cycle himself down that direction…

“I think you’d owe me more than a dinner to climb it now,” he replied, grinning a bit, and it was hard to keep suggestion out of his tone. Maybe ten years ago, but.. It had been ten years. The tangle of marks the Vitalis husband and wife had left on him were special things for him, coeurl he’d keep hunting for, and he had no desire to pass them aside. Dino… could have been someone special to him. It had been a Thing he’d entertained himself with back during the Glaives, a fleeting, skirting thing. He’d flirted very carefully back then, but he’d never really been able to tell if Dino Ghiranze, reporter, jeweler, had been interested in him or not. Not for sure. Not concrete enough to run the gambit and the risk, though at times he had come very close to jumping off that cliff.

But speaking of dinner… “I have work I need to do. There’s some broth in the kitchen. You should try to get some of it down you while you’re still awake. The King’s magic does wonders but while you’re not bleeding to death anymore, you still need to recover.” And then he paused, and gave a pointed look at all the empty beds, and remembered all the other empty beds in storage they could pull out. Remembered how full the tent city had been, outside of Insomnia, those first terrible months. He wanted to joke with Dino, but…

The beds weren’t full. He was so glad they weren’t full. That there was space for Dino to take, and that Dino was here, taking it. He never thought he would. He’d hoped and dreamed he would, but he’d never really thought it might happen. And now he was, and Caleb squeezed his shoulder gently.

Still here.

“Meldacio has empty beds to spare, Dino. You can take up this space as long as you need to.”

Dino blinked once then laughed softly at the mention of owing him more than dinner should he go climbing and gently shook his head. He watched Caleb run a gauntlet of things in his mind however. The tell tale sign he was doing it was that Caleb’s eyes would dart from side to side. 

“Heh, ya never change do ya...” 

It was more of a comment to his tells, but at the same time, he’d pretty much confirmed; with the offer of a bed and rest, and healing that Caleb was still Caleb. Even after all this time. 

Time. 

Six, where the hell’ve I been for that long anyhow? Dino’s brows furrowed in thought a little before he let out a soft sigh, and he smiled. “Fine. I’ll rest up I suppose, since it’s healers orders...” 

He glanced back to the room he was in, taking it in for the first time since he was upright before he glanced down at himself. Stitched in places, bandaged in others. He was pretty positive something put him through a wringer--but he couldn’t remember what. All he could remember was a cold touch, a laugh, and the smell of something that reminded him of sulfur. Like the head of a lit match...and he honestly could still smell it. 

It seemed to be in the air, or it was coming off whatever he still wore. He then looked down. Well, Ok, so it’s not comin’ from there.

Dino shook his head again to clear it and let off a little sigh. “Yeah, maybe a bit of somethin’ in my belly won’t hurt. Though, I never knew ya to be such a good seamstress...” and he gestured to the stitches that adorned his side. 

“Who do I gotta thank for keepin’ my insides, inside...?”

8 Years

“Lucky us. I have nothing planned for the next week. So unless, there's a monster subjugation emergency, I'm free,” she smiles brightly, “what did you have planned first? Or is that a surprise?”

Dino let a charming smile light up his face. “A week?” he then laughs softly before moving a hand to gently cup her cheek and tilt her head back. “Well then sweetheart, let’s not waste time yeah?” 

With a hum he dips his head and kisses her again, thumb gently petting against her skin. When she pushed back into it he gently broke it, then started to pepper her face with kisses, from forehead to chin. 

“There we go, that’s the smile I missed,” Dino said softly as he heard her laugh when he pressed the last kiss to the tip of her nose before he tilted his head. “Well, m’thinkin’ ya already know just what I got in mind, but, I know you’ve been busy, so…Dinner, in my room, in bed, so that ya can fall asleep right away sounds like a good way to kick things off, don’t you?”He then moved just enough to offer her his arm. “C’mon sweetheart, let me pamper ya a little, hmn?”

I didn't peg you for a man that would judge a book by its cover. Poison can taste sweet too, my darling, please don't be fooled. Do you see that nice plush mattress? Whoops! Look who is on his back on it now. This nice vest, one button off, two buttons off. Now, I hope you don't mind if I kiss your neck- or bite on it ;)

“Well while that may be so Doll, I--oof!” Dino blinks up at you as you push him back on the mattress. He remains stunned for just a moment before laughter bubbles from his throat again. 

“Now I gotta admit, that was the most direct way to get me into bed, though..m’afraid ya got a few more buttons to go through before ya get exactly what ya want. So, lemme ask ya this...do ya want me to make a show of it, or would that ruin your fun?” 

Chuckling softly he props himself up on his elbows, and grins up at you cheekily. 

“Cause either way Doll, m’thinkin this is a win win for us both.”

Of course with the long nights she forgot how cold it got yet this was not nearly bad as home but, when she felt the warmth on her back she opened one eye seeing him.

She was curious was she ever going to see her favorite reporter/jeweler or was he curse to be a werewolf cause of the long nights placed all over Eos.

Only time would tell but for now she rested hoped her would would heal but, also that she would be able to see the sun rise with Dino and everything would be back to normal for them.

The beast dreamed. 

He dreamt of a time near open water. Not a lake, an ocean. He could taste the salt in the air. Could feel the warmth of the sun. Sand under his feet. 

And he could see her laying on the sand, but something was wrong...and his gut flipped.

The taint of blood reached his nose as he looked down, seeing human hands covered in red. Oh gods...not again... lifting his eyes seeing her form laying there on the beach. The sand around her red, and he swore he felt his heart stop. 

No. Not her. Astrals please... He felt like he was floating as he got closer, and he placed his hand gently on her cheek. She was cold. Long dead. I-I..N-No. Please... no...

His eyes snapped open, confusion and rage swelling in his gut when he smelled blood yet again. Her blood. But it was old...and he feared turning his head--till he felt movement against his side. Against his skin...and that got him to lift a hand, and look at it. 

Human. And they weren’t red. 

Slowly bringing his eyes down he found her curled up gently against his side and he froze. He swallowed hard and slowly brought his hand down to gently cup her cheek, and let out the breath he was holding when she was warm. 

“Astrals Doll..” and he moved then wrapping an arm gently about her shoulders to bring her closer to him, and cling to her almost for dear life. He tried not to wake her, really he did. But...that dream felt real. 

Too real. 

....and he wondered in the back of his mind if that wasn’t the gods way of showing him what might come to be...

Aellai's cheeks flush as she looks shyly away, her hands fiddling with his tie absently, “I suppose I'm not so busy anymore that you could show me how much you really miss me....”

Dino couldn’t stop the grin on his face if you paid him when she played with the end of his tie. His hands moved to gently rest on her shoulders, thumbs petting slowly before his brows lifted at her soft voice. 

“Show ya huh?” and his grin turned into that charming smile that he swore he only wore for her. 

When she lifted her face to look at him he moved a hand from her shoulder to gently cup her cheek, sweeping his thumb just under her eye. “For me to do that sweetheart, I think ya’d have to promise me that you’d not be leaving for at least...oh...let’s say three days. M’thinkin’ that might be just enough time to show you the start of how much I missed ya.”

Leaning forward then he pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead as his arm moved about her shoulders to pull her just a bit closer.

Dino laughed softly at the expression that Novus gave him. “Well, okay so maybe it isn’t the place to be, but it’s home for me, and I’ll say it ain’t half bad...” 

He looked down at him as he followed along next to him, looking curiously at everything around him. “Well, there’s shops, but they’re at the end of the boardwalk, n’down near the fishin’ dock. Coctura here, has got the best fresh made Ice Cream anywhere.” The blond woman looked up at the mention of her name, and gave the two of them a smile as they got closer. 

Dino’s brows shot upwards though at the mention of Novus’ dumb prince, and a crooked grin pulled up at the corner of his mouth. “Ahh, givin’ him some special sort of shade huh...I suppose he don’t get out much. Poor kid. I mean, it’s gotta be borin’ in that large castle all day long,” he grins down at him. “But I bet with you around, he ain’t so lonely, huh?”

Throwing Coctura a wink he asked for two Ice Cream cones, his was strawberry that she dipped in chocolate. “Get whatever ya like Bambino. My treat.”

Don't be shy, handsome. It would be only you and me. All warm and cozy, so nice for us to relax and get to know each other. Let me take care of you and make you feel nice. I'll be gentle, I promise. Unless you don't want be to later on ;)

Dino can’t help but laugh again as you take his hand and he gently draws you closer, wrapping your hand about his arm. 

“Don’t be shy, yet you’re the one that’s layin’ me flat with all this charmin’ talk you’re givin’ me. I dunno what to do with myself exactly.” 

Giving you a charming grin he rests his hand over yours as he walks slowly back with you towards his room. “And ya wanna take care of me huh? That’d be kind of a first for me. That’s definitely somethin’ I ain’t used to. M’more of a giver than a receiver. Usually.”

Gently popping open the door to his room at the resort, he gently gestures for you to enter first, ever the gentleman, he then chuckles softly. 

“Huh...I don’t know if a Doll like you could be rough with me. I mean, with all the sweet talkin’ you’re doing, I doubt there’s a mean bone in your body...” and he throws you yet another cheeky wink.

Surely a handsome man like you is busy. But with all that work you do, you must be oh so-- tense. It has to be, hard, right sweetheart? Do you think we could have some time alone, together, in private? ;)

He tries not to laugh, really he does, but he knows for a fact that he’s used the same pick up line a time or three as a charming smile lights up his face.

“Hmn, I’ll admit, bein’ at a worktable most of the day, playin’ with metal and stone does make the shoulders stiff. So does bein’ at a laptop writin’ a story or three...But, I’ll be honest Doll, I ain’t used to someone usin’ such persuasive charms on me, so you’ll have to forgive me if I suddenly seem shy...”

With another chuckle he moves back, and offers his hand to you. “C’mon then Doll, let me take ya back to my room where we can have this...alone time you’ve been talkin’ about..”

Dino’s head snapped upwards his brows lifting high. He couldn’t stop the charming smile spreading across his features as he tilted his head a little. 

“Sweetheart huh? Well, I ain’t the kinda guy that’s willin’ to pass up on someone that wants to sweet talk me a little bit...” 

With a smirk he leans a bit closer, his hand resting against the wall near your head. “Tell me then Doll, just what kinda fun did ya have in mind for your Ol’ Pal Dino? Hmn? Cause uh... I might, just be willin’ and able to clear my entire evening just for you.”

Dino smirked a bit. “Well, m’thinkin’ that you’re gonna have to trust that I’m a man of my word when I say that I ain’t gonna make somethin’ up about ya and put it in the papers...” 

He watched Novus take a seat then started to laugh softly when the kid looked absolutely and utterly bored out of his mind. 

“Ya do know that the Quay’s the place to be, Bambino.” and with a wink he got up from his knee to have a seat next to him on that bench, then sigh a bit. “Hmn, there’s actually quite a bit to--Hmn.” 

Letting his brows knit a little in thought he was sort of at a loss. Technically, when the kids did come to the resort, there was swimming, and fishing and other things to do, but with him being down here, he figured that the kid was on his own. 

Well...as on his own as much as a young prince was able to be. He was sure that he had eyes on him somewhere. 

“Well ya don’t seem too keen on fishin’. And it looks like playin’ on the beach might be a bit borin’ for ya--Ah!” he snapped his fingers then smiled, tucking his notepad into his blazer’s pocket. “How bout we go visit a friend of mine first, I hear that she’s got some pretty tasty Ice Cream at her counter. M’sure we can sneak you a little snack before anyone else notices.”  He stood from the bench then waited for Novus to follow him back up toward the restaurant from the pier.

He'd heard and seen reports of Dino in the newspaper the Citadel received, and when the seven-year-old spotted the reporter, Novus only had a single question for him. "Is your name Dino cause you're old like a dinosaur?"

Dino blinked at the question once as his brows shot upwards. He paused in what he was doing with his notepad before he glanced down at the kid who was looking up at him with a wide eyed curious stare....and he couldn’t help but smile.

“Hey there Bambino,” he said softly as he lowered himself down to one knee, to be eye level with him. “Heh, nah, M’pretty sure that Ma named me Dino for another reason. Probably was a name she liked, or somethin’...”

With a slight smirk he gently reached over and lightly ruffled the kid’s hair. “Tell ya what though Bambino, how bout ya help me figure out what your name is. Since ya seem to know what mine is already.”
